The worst choice I could do is to choose this broadband contract. It is unreliable, slow and the signal drops 5 times in 10 minutes. AVOID IT IF YOU CAN.

There is now a box for fibre optic at one end of our village. I an more than the 1.2 km required from the box to receive faster broadband. On the other side of the box there is only 2 houses. Why did the box not go in the middle of the village so that we could all get it? Disgraceful and a waste of money.

Waste of money. Signal is strong enough to sign up. Sign-up impressive. Very responsive. Since then. Max 2 mins. Low powered signal. Signed up for 1 month based on the speed of the marketing page. Won't do it again.

Dreadful! Absolute waste of money. I would have preferred to put no stars as my rating. Only able to access the internet for very short periods of time before loosing the connection. I wish I had read these reviews before buying 30 days of nothing

I paid for hotspot to tide me over while I wait for new home connection (not bt cause of price and delay) but need internet for work. FFS literally have to log back in every 30 seconds cause connection drops?

This a pure scam, as soon as you buy more than one day package it doesn’t work anymore! I don’t know how it’s possible that this service is still up! Police should investigate about

I bought 5 days as we were on holiday near Buxton in the Peak District. A hotspot came up and I thought it would be a good idea to save using my phone and incurring extra charges. What a mistake. A total waste of £20. Absolutely useless.

Okay so, before moving to Birmingham, BT was alright. Could watch videos, movies and even play games. We had the fast package and it was working fine. After we moved to Birmingham the internet went to hell, first of all, they don't have fast broadband where we live and had made no effort to get it here or at least give us a much cheaper alternative. Second of all, if my husband and I use our laptops to watch videos on youtube, the internet will just go to hell. We can't load videos even in 144p, if a third person is connected then that's it, you an say bye bye to internet.... It's also really stupid that they keep sending mails and put billboards up with how amazing the speed is and all that b.s, when it's actually absolutely false advertisement

This is quite honestly the worst experience I've ever had in any form of service. I signed up for bt hotspot WiFi and at first was pretty good. Not the best but manageable for my needs. But then after my first monthly payment, on that same day I completely lost signal. I managed to find some WiFi and made a written complaint. Oddly enough my WiFi came back on 6 days after the same day I received the email back from the two working day reply policy they have. And told me to contact the technical department. Well after I had been reconnect anyway, all I've experienced is disconnectios, and has been gradually getting worse and worse. Today I have been disconnected at least 20 times. And the connection is extremely weak at the moment. It can't even load a picture on a webpage. If tried all sorts of routes to complain. Was advices to a link on there complaints page ironically it disconnected as I was trying to do this. Eventually got on hoping I could do a simple email complaints. Oh know just found automatic questions that had know relevance to my complaint about the hotspot. I've now left 12 email complaints hoping this will annoy them as much as I'm currently annoyed. I even disconnected twice trying to write this. It seems that they lure you in then bang a first payment happens than all goes downhill from there. I have to say, I am shocked that a national company are able to still operate in this way given the amount of complaints they obviously receive. I could understand it if I was paying £5 per month, but £26 for hotspot not to properly work?! Why even have the service if it's that bad. It's obviously a scam of some description. This needs investigation surely. There is acts in law that should prevent these things from happening. especially when money is being paid for a service.

i have 12month contract and there is a weak or none connection. i got this reply: We do not recommend that customers set up BT Wi-fi subscription accounts for use at home. If you are in a residential area, you are connecting to a BT Wi-fi-with-Fon hotspot, each is provided by a BT Broadband customer who has agreed to broaddcast the BT Wi-fi signal from their router. This service is not designed as a replacement/alternative to a home broadband service. These are residential hotspots, each is provided by a BT Broadband customer who has agreed to broadcast the BT Wi-fi wireless network from their home hub. These hotspots are managed by the owner of the hub distributing them. As the customer's broadband connection may be busy or they may even switch off their home hub, we cannot guarantee these networks will always be on or working correctly and would recommend that you try at an alternative location. Sadly there is nothing you can do to improve the service yourself or for us to bring the signal back.
A BT Wi-fi subscription account is a mobile product for use at premium BT Wi-fi hotspots where we manage the service. BT Wi-fi premium hotspots can be located within establishments such as Starbucks, Hilton hotels, , Ikea and so on. To locate your nearest BT Wi-fi premium hotspot you can use our hotspot finder feature on www.btwifi.com/find.
If you need a reliable service at home, we would always recommend fixed line broadband. If you are interested in BT broadband, please contact our sales department on 0800 800 150 (Mon-Fri 08.00-21.00, Sat 08.00-20.00, Sun 09.00-18:00)."

I'm sure there will be no refund available. Just don't waste your money with this scam

Maybe works half the time. Won't stay connected for very long. I would hope to pay for a full month of the internet with the price it was that it would be decent speed and reliability that's a lie. I feel scammed out of my money. Don't purchase unless absolutely necessary and maybe then look for other ways to get internet.

TERRIBLE!! Do not buy. Not only is the connection slow, its not even full bars. Thats bad in itself but the worth part of this all has to be 100% be that IT LOGS YOU OUT FREQUENTLY. At random times it will just turn off and you have to go into your settings and log in ALL OVER AGAIN. I bought for a day and within the first two hours i had already logged in 10 different times because it kept going off! Avoid at all costs.

I had lived in Manchester, Hongkong , macau and now the 4th years in Brighton, I can swear that BT wifi is the WORST idea ever. I never made any feedback for anything, not hotel stay not restaurant BUT i have to make feedback now TO LET PEOPLE KNOW that PLEASE DO NOT USE BT fon, not talking about downloading or loading either movies or video, but GOOGLE TRANSLATE, it took me at least 15 mins to load. Yes !!! 15 mins for google translate or any web page. As a student, there are tons of work to be done daily and with 'Speed' like that its killing me! Please DO NOT USE IT. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND.

First time using BT Wifi wth Fon whilst working away from the office for a few days. The Wifi connected immediately with high signal for me to enter card details to make a payment. Immediately after entering my card details, the signal disconnected and would not reconnect. Very appalling service and an absolute rip off!!!

Without a doubt the worst WiFi I have ever had the displeasure of using. BT is absolutely useless and I highly recommend you look else where unless you want to be extorted for all your money and get absolutely nothing in return. The router constantly crashes, there’s always problems with it. For no reason it just turns itself off and starts flashing red. I have racked up a serious bill using mobile data because BT is so terrible. STAY AWAY

First and last time. What a rip off. Slow, regularly losing connection causing me to lose work, streaming anything was impossible, and £18 for the privilege. My free WiFi on the MegaBus coming down here beats this service hands down.

AVOID!!! I paid for a daily internet on demand, I could save myself the money and trouble! Problems to access the internet, problems to log in, once connected it keeps disconnecting all the time without any reason, and loading any page takes ages! Basically after 2 hours of trying to check my email I havent managed to do anything. Worst service ever!

i pay for the 12 month contract called up btwifi to find out date of payment and thanks to the great customer service I was able to change the date and move 2 months payments into a month after, only complain is the speed, 1mb/s for download and 6m/s for upload why is upload higher and if I could get a better speed that would be amazing as some files take ages to download if they are 1gb or more.

Pathetic. That this service exists in 2017 is a revolting indictment of what happens when you give a PLC a monopoly. Tragic speed, tragic reliability, tragic uptime. Tragic.

Extremely bad and grossly overpriced. Connection often unavailable and subject to frequent disconnects. Logging on fails half the time as system often does not recognise you. Very slow speed.Essentially there is no customer service just the usual roundabout of form replies. No customer service number for personal help. Don't water your money.

Literally the worst. Never works, nothing except my laptop can connect, and that's a bit difficult. What I'm trying to say is - it's a massive waste of money - you could get broadband for half the price and a hundred times the speed from the flipping post office. Just... Don't.....

I am in temp housing for twelve weeks while work is done on my flat so I decided to get a pay as you go broadband, this was pretty cheap at £120 for 90 days with no contract. For some reason the 90 day option never worked at the start when I joined so this added £30 I did not need to spend.
The speeds are decent for me at 5mb both up and down, but the uptime is around 90% with too many random small outages and too many hour plus disconnects.
As far as I can tell I get wifi from the local startbucks which is probably something you need if you want any decent monthly amount of download and I do get close to 1tb a month with constant downloading.
It is a decent temporary service for me, let down by the terrible cust serv and low reliability.
I would have given it two stars for reliability but it requires you to log on daily at 3am to 5am or it stops, so I usually have another two to four hours downtime every day.

terrible service. I opened a bt wi-fi account setting the card payment - never had a problem with that card before- after three months I received an absurd paper bill because for some reason the card wasn't accepted. But they did'n give me an email notice or something, just sent the bill. so I set the online payment again, calling the customer service. one month later another paper bill plus the charge for the late payment. stay away from them
