We moved in August into new property in devon. We previously lived in north London and had super fast fibre optic broadband.

While moving I contacted EE to explain that our address is changed, at this point we would still like to remain with EE and just simply move our internet provider with us to the new address.

It all seemed fine, although they say it could take up to six weeks for it be installed, I wasn’t sure why it was quite so long. We had lots going on in the move so we didn’t bother pushing it.

While we waited for it to be installed I got a phone call while I was out shopping with my wife. They asked if I was happy with my broadband and if I would like to continue with them. At this point we had just moved and we had a lot on our plate so there was no reason why I wouldn’t say that I was happy.

After two months I got a phone call from EE, this wasn’t to say that our fibre optic broadband was installed but to say that they have just discovered that fibre is not available in our area! I then asked to leave EE as we hadn’t been given what we were sold. That’s not possible because the conversation I had in a busy supermarket now meant I was in another two year contract.

I tried to say that I had been mis-sold the package as I didn’t get told that I wouldn’t have fibre. They escalated this to their mis-sold department that would look into it (you have to worry that a company would have so many of these problems of being mis-sold that they have a department dedicated to it). Apparently I didn’t have a case and we were stuck with EE.

By this time we were desperate to have internet in our house. My wife and I both reply on it for work and we had been using our neighbours broadband while we waited for ours to be installed. I eventually said fine, just get it working.

Their phone technicians weren’t doing very well until I talked to this one guy in India who changed the settings on my router so that it accepted regular broadband, not just fibre. A light was on and we were finally getting broadband.

However as we used our broadband we discovered that the feed we were getting was really slow or nothing at all. Most of the time our electrical devices thought we weren’t connected to the internet and when we were it was slower than dial-up internet.

After lots more conversations with EE they sent me from person to person and decided to send out an engineer. The engineer arrived and put a booster on the system. While chatting with the engineer he wondered why we weren’t on fibre. I told him that we were told its not possible. He looked puzzled and explained that they simply had to plug our house into it, a relatively simple job. This was annoying but at this point I didn’t really care as long as it started working!

The engineer left, but as he left he left he said that there was a good chance it wont do anything. More than likely the problem is with EE. Reassuring words.

Sure enough there was no difference. I phoned EE again, they had a look at my plan and discovered that our plan was still set to fibre! And we had been paying for fibre! This person actually sounded helpful. She explained that we had been paying for the wrong kind of service and so the router couldn’t work with regular broadband because it was being delivered fibre… which apparently isn’t available anyway. She said that she would get the changes requested to make our contract into a regular broadband contract and make sure that we were reimbursed for our lack of internet over the past six months! That sounded great. She would phone back in just three days to get it all finalised… she didn’t.

After another week I phoned EE again and talked to yet another advised. This one was probably the most down to earth and realistic out of them all. First I told him what the other advised had said about changing over the plan so that it’s feeding in the right kind of internet. He said he could sort that out but he very much doubted it would do anything. However I needed to try anything that was suggested so we went for it. He did make sure we got six months of free broadband, which I’m grateful for… if there broadband. He also sent a new router just to tick every box we could think of. I thanked him but I could tell from his tone that this wasn’t going to get me anywhere.

Sure enough it didn’t improve. This leads me to today. After trying absolutely everything for the past seven months the only thing I could do was insist that they let me leave so that I could see if another provider could do any better. I phoned and was greeted by a lovely lady. I explained my story and she put me on hold while she went to her manager to see what they can do. She came back and to my shock not only said they couldn’t end my account but that when the contract was changed over to regular broadband, after their six month mistake of having on fibre, it was now another new contract and any problems that I’ve had before are now VOID! Seven months of trying to get things fixed and they are now choosing to ignore all the efforts that have been made to try and fix it.

After battling this out over the phone they ended with sending out an engineer again and escalating the package to the mis-sold department… again. I know that this is very much a first world problem but not having internet effects my work, and therefore my income… and makes my wife angry.

Would give zero stars if I could.
I AM PAYING 30 POUNDS MONTHLY AND I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER SIM CARD AS EE IS NOT WORKING IN MY AREA AND NOBODY, NOBODY IS WILLING TO HELP!!!
Found myself in the situation where I am paying for a service which is NOT working, gave TEN CALLS to customer service and after I got upset they finally put my call through tecnical support.
A lady told me to follow some steps and then drop her an email if the issue wasn't fixed.
I sent her already TWO emails and OF COURSE nobody got back to me (....but they keep taking my money......).

If you want to buy something from EE or T MOBILE then pray that you live in one of their privileged areas, otherwise you'll be paying for the rest of your life for a service which is not working.

Having been a customer of Orange since there inception and never had a problem with service or their amazing customer service, since the merger or whatever it is with EE it has ALL gone horribly wrong.

Both Mobile and Home Broadband provision
customer call centre staff dont appear to know what they are doing and cant understand half of what you say. Managers of technical support that give you a customer complaint ref number for them to never make contact with you again because the one call they obviously feel obliged to make is sufficient for their records even though the reason I couldnt talk right at that moment was... oh yes I was working!!!!!

    My issues with EE???

3 months + of intermittent slow and completely non existent internet access. Tech support have tried the old 'Oh its the line, you need to get in touch with your telephone provider'. RUBBISH!
It has nothing to do with that at all.
My landline is fine, noise free and thus has nothing to do with the service that you are NOT providing!

And good god, if I'm asked to turn my router off and on again once more!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr
I feel like I'm on the set of the IT crowd. This approach seems to be the only technical prowess this company possess.
Three months of crap service no offers of compensation.
Well EE its all coming out on here now and to anyone with the slightest idea of signing up to EE home broadband, DONT DO IT, YOU'LL REGRET IT.

And whilst Im ranting their mobile provision has sucked since this EE merger too. Appauling 3G signal at present, and you want me to take up the limited 4G signal that you have???

'You cannot be serious' to quote J McInrow

We are the largest supplier of 4G? Well lets be relative to the coverage over the uk that you provide. That is only relative description to that of your competitors NOT the concept of idea that your network coverage covers large swathes of the UK. Because it doesnt!!!!!

Good bye EE. With a tear in my eye for the good old concept of great service backed up by a fantastic team of uk customer service staff who would bend overr backwards for their customers Orange.

    EE stinks!!

EE stole us without permission from BT. Their underhand tactics left us in no man's land for two weeks as I had to re register as a new customer with BT. The law has changed and new providers no longer need a Mac code. So they just went ahead and poached us!Surely some sort of law has been broken! Anyway, they have dreadful customer service. EE should be avoided at all costs. They are an unscrupulous company.

Broadband from EE is the most amazingly rubbish service you can get. I was mis-sold this with promises of 20-25 Mb/s whereas in reality I can only get between 1 and 1.5Mb/s. Yes that's right!! No ability to watch videos and sometimes it takes me several attempts to log on. It is consistently rotten. It just makes no difference how many times I complain to them because nothing is done about it. EE have tied me into an 18 month contract and put up the price half way through. Really rotten broadband and a really rotten company to deal with. They provide a third world service with no support to the customer. I would never recommend EE to anyone!!!

I have had nothing but trouble since I signed up to EE. Within the first week the speed was ridiculously slow and can't go longer than 5 minutes without dropping off! I phoned and spoke to several different people who didn't have a clue what they were on about and after ELEVEN phone calls I threatened to contact trading standards and citiZens advice to see whether I had to pay for a useless service. It was then they suddenly sat up and said they'd send a technician round (although it would be at my expense if it needed any repairing even though the installer guy put a new line and new box in.) The technician who came told me the internet was set to the lowest speed and put it up a bit. It was ok for a few weeks but kept dropping off again. Final straw has come this morning when for the second time in a row they have taken £83 out my bank for a £19 bill. Will be contacting them this morning and informing them I WILL be contacting trading standards this afternoon. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!

Openreach scores an ‘Own Goal’ by cutting off my Landline and switching my telephone number to another person in the village whilst also cutting off their Home Phone and Broadband Access.
I firmly believe that EE should immediately stop taking any more orders for their Home Phone and Broadband Services until they have cleared the backlog of existing problems and improved their working relationship with Openreach. It is just not good enough to sign somebody up and pass them over to India to get technical problems resolved. In my case I have waited on occasions in excess of 33 minutes before my call is answered to be confronted by extremely low volume from a willing yet difficult to understand technician. Surely EE should take ownership of the problems encountered by new customers until their services are up and running.
I have to say that Orange/EE have provided my wife and me with an excellent Mobile Phone Service over several years. I was and still am, looking forward to a reliable service with EE but from the start it has been a disaster resulting in the loss of my home broadband service for almost 2 weeks and then my landline since 30 October 2015. Openreach supposedly activated my Broadband service on 20 October 2016 but this resulted in my landline having no dial tone and another person in the village ending up with my telephone number and account as well as losing her Broadband.
I appreciate the possibility of the odd teething problem with most technical things but surely it cannot be difficult for EE and Openreach to synchronise their activities and expedite what is now an urgent situation. My opinions of EE were aggravated when they did not listen to my prognosis of events and tried to shift the blame on faulty equipment within my house despite overwhelming evidence of incompetence in switching lines during my Broadband Activation.
Credit does have to go to EE for their goodwill gesture to provide me with a MYFI device loaded with 24GB data. This has allowed me to access the internet but would be an expensive option if they fail to get my service installed promptly. My low rating is only based on the service that I have received for my Home Phone and Broadband Service. I am still without my Broadband Service.

I have constant connectivity issues which they tell me is my machines, they get fixed it lasts for so long then goes again. Often on the phone for an hour at a time and on top of that paying for fibre broadband which is no marked difference from before.
    Very frustrated.

I should have had EE broadband installed on 12/12/2014 and here I am on 30/12/2014 without any internet connection despite over 4 hours of phone calls(including the 30min hold time to actually speak to someone) and a number of promises from EE members of staff saying that I will have internet in the next few days.

Originally I thought what a great deal at roughly £17.50 a month for broadband and weekend landline calls. But from reading other views when I do finally get broadband (on roughly Jan 6 so my account says)my connection will be poor. I think I am going to cut the cord while I still can.

I also have a mobile phone with EE as well and I've got to say the signal I receive is absolutley awful.

They advertise themselves as "No other network is bigger, faster and MORE RELIABLE", but infact the opposite is true.

Customers take some advice and pay that little extra to get BT broadband or something more reliable and avoid the disappointment of EE the network which is bigger, faster and more reliable than any other network at taking your money and wasting your time.

Absolutely dreadful service. We signed up during an offer for an £75 Amazon voucher that was meant to be paid within 90 days of service which we still have not received. Customer service takes a week or more to reply and the service itself is terrible. Weekends and evenings the internet is incredibly slow and it's constantly cutting out, sometimes even 5 times in one evening. I would not recommend their home phone and broadband to anyone. Why couldn't they put the same quality and effort into this than they do their mobile phone service.

This company is a nightmare to deal with. Avoid at all cost. I had to abandon /cancell ordering after experiencing major problems.EE were unable or unwilling to email confirmation after five days to what I had agreed on telephone but attempted to set up a direct debit on my bank account!! 4 hours of calls, some to their premium rate number customer support in order to resolve and terminate deal. At all stages the majority of their staff were ignorant, incompetent and abusive. Most probably surly teenagers in a call centre job they dislike and abuse customers for sport.
A stressful, costly and unnecessary experience. EE claimed that I failed a credit check and indicated that they would not provide a service but attempted to debit my bank account anyway.(I have never been in debt and I pay directly for products and services in full.)I think their call centre staff cannot be trusted with customers details. AVOID

If you value any kind of customer service then don't join EE, we have had an intermittent service for the 7 months since we were convinced to join them having got mobile through them. the speeds you will get will not be anything like promised, the customer service and technical teams are to be blunt completely inept, rude or both. I have had to call them almost weekly to get the broadband working, they excel at empty platitudes and apologies without actually resolving anything so we have cancelled and gone to BT on the same line but without any of the difficulties.

Internet was terribly slow during the first few months. After the 12 month contract we decided to end the contract because we were moving out. Customer service told us that we had to pay an cancellation fee of £29. Unacceptable. We didn't sign up for this. If we knew this from the start, we'd steer clear away from this company. never using it again. I hope others don't too.

I can't put into words my frustration with EE. I will never recommend this service to anyone. They have failed to deliver on their promises and contractual obligations over and over again. It took 25 working days to be connected to broadband, that's 5 whole weeks. Then they set up our account incorrectly 3 times. They have failed to deliver broadband and the EE TV box within their own specified time frames because the account is set up incorrectly again. They have applied discounts as a 'goodwill gesture'which don't reflect the payment plan we purchased. It has been error after error from their customer service team and despite all trying to be very nice and polite and provide plenty of platitudes they just can't deliver the service they say they are going to. I have no confidence that the TV box will works or the broadband speeds are up to scratch. I only haven't switched because I don't want to wait another 2+ weeks for another provider to get us connected. Save your blood pressure go elsewhere!!!

I cannot find the words to describe my frustration and anger at how awful this company is and how useless and unusable EE broadband is. I have just managed to get it to work after 48hrs of no internet AGAIN! THIS IS THE 16TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 4 MONTHS!! I sometimes cannot even log on. When it works....WHEN...it is appallingly slow and I often use my mobile phone instead. My previous ISP's gave me non of these problems. EE's service department always have an excuse buy no reason and the promises that where made to me when I signed up for this EE contract have nowhere near been met. I( will never use EE again. AWFUL COMPANY!!!!!

If I could rate it zero I honestly would , I genuinely thought you couldn’t get worse than Tesco mobile but clearly EE proved that you can get worse than them... moving to EE was the worst decision my parents ever made .... my 4g is absolutely a bag of rubbish it goes soooo slow everywhere I go ... It decides to not even turn on when I turn it on sometimes ... has mind of its own .. decides when it wants to work and that’s never . My parents even sighted up for a contract with them for a wi Fi box and I swear it never works on mine or sisters phone nothings loads it goes so so slow I can’t even deal it gets me so so angry . the worst part is even when there’s only one person using the wi fi it still goes extremely painfully slow ... I can’t even use my own 4g never because it NEVER WORKS WHEN IM AT HOME . No idea why?!? It’s been like this for a good few months now but my mum never believed me because her phone the wi fi worked normally for her but for everyone else it just wasn’t until a few weeks ago where her internet started going slow aslwell as mine and she began to believe me that it’s awful . It’s ruining everything for me !!!!!!! It’s affecting my work , my college work , my placement work , my emails and most importantly my youtube and netflix !!!! Sort this out ... we need SKY back we took it for granted wow

An appalling service. Their broadband is so slow it nearly never uploads live streaming and it takes ages to download a film. On top of this, problems with the broadband are recurring, in 2 years and a half that I have been under contract with EE the box stopped working 6 times (and it always takes minimum 10 days to make work again)! Recently another problem arose and my internet goes on and off every 15 mins to an hour and I end up using my phone as a hotspot.... Customer service is ridiculous; when you have a problem it takes ages for them to even try to solve it, and usually, you need to call them 5/6 times in order to solve it definitely. The level of negligence demonstrated by their departments is absurd and when they actually find a way to help, either you have to wait for weeks before they actually do anything or you need to open a new contract or prolong the one you already have for only god knows what reason. I AM FED UP OF THIS NEGLIGENT AND RIDICULOUS SERVICE, I will leave EE as soon as possible and will search the contract to see how many breaches have been committed because of their negligence (misrepresentation looks promising). GUYS DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM, ITS LIKE SIGNING A CONTRACT WITH THE DEVIL

slow speeds, Indian call centres that keep hanging up calls. No promised return calls. Kept on hold for 1 hr plus, so called on second line and after 10 mins put on hold again !! There are much better service providers than these clowns

I was told in the shop that it would no disruption to my broadband changing suppliers. My old broadband was switched off at 2am. Email from EE to say connect my router. Still can't connect. Spent hours trying with no success. Boyfriend who is Techical whizz router is rubbish. Very frustrating and regret listening or believing the salemans patter that it would be plug and go. Not worth the stress!!!

EE it's a joke! I've signed contract on the beginning of December and today is 19th if February and I still haven't got internet and landline! Firstly they sent my router to the wrong address and later I've been promised every single week that engineer is going to cone to my place and Internet will be active. Ppl that work for customer service lie! I've spent around £40 for data coz I haven't got internet at home, alter few calls I got my money finally back. They said that for sure engineer is coming 23th to sort everyone out and signal will be alive since 26th of February, I said if engineer won't come on Tuesday I'm going to take EE to court

I wish there was a zero rating. The speed I get with EE is 2mb download and 1.0 upload. Trying to
contact customer services is useless, as the sound fades away every few seconds. When I could hear on one occasion, I couldn't
understand what the person was saying. Surely the Ombudsman must have had hundreds of complaints, yet they're still managing to fool so many of us. Is there any help available?

Moved from TalkTalk where I was getting a solid 14MB to EE where I'm struggling to get 4MBs. I live next to the exchange and live in a new build so there are no excuses. EE is sooooo slow. I'm moving back to TalkTalk.

EE Broadband is about as bad as it gets! Snail pace speed makes it pretty unusable. Service Dept is inept and useless and also disinterested. This download speed is hopeless and not what I was promised!!! When this contract is up I will never use EE again!!!! It deserves NO STARS!

You just cannot believe how bad this broadband is until you have experienced the frustration and snail's pace for yourself. It is a disgusting company to have any dealings with. No one gives a dam. It is a rip off!

We joined EE, when it was Orange. Straight away we had issues, contacting the tech team was a pain, and constant disconnections during phone calls. Having to ring again, and go through all the information, explaining the issue over and over. No one would admit there was a problem.
Eventually we gave up as we thought we were "stuck" and we had a newborn baby by this time. So we rarely used the net. But when we came to renew, we were informed fibre was amazing. And it would FIX all our problems, and that if I rang this number I can talk to people who were able to deal with it all better than before.
Stupidly stayed! (We did have a newborn...) Problems persisted. We were continuously disconnected, Tried emailing, complaining, ringing. Got no where!
One guy told me to ring BT to get them to sort it, when I was with EE?! BT were as baffled as I was when I rang.
I sent 5 complaints to them, only 2 were responded with "Ring this number to sort this issue" Which I did, and got no where. They refused to admit there was a problem, and when they did admit there was a problem, they never rang back when promised.
    Worst service ever!
Seriously! I was on the phone 2-4 times a week for a month, trying to sort this. and emailing during that time and afterwards. Gave up ! And hope my time with them will end soon!

I was with ee for 6months, in which time I had nothing but trouble. Super slow speeds, rubbish customer service and going round and round in circles. I had engineers sent out and the cause could not be found. They kept asking me to ring them and tell them the speeds over weeks. They never improved and in fact got worse. Fibre optic running at 2mbps ha!!! The internet kept cutting out whilst browsing. Films wouldn't buffer etc. They then charged me engineer fees which I had to get refunded by my bank. In the end I rang up and cancelled. They tried charging me £250 until I told them simply they were the ones breaching the contract and that they can send me a bill but I wont be paying it. I will be paasing it on to trading standards who will deal with it on my behalf. I was put on hold for 5 mins to then be told they would be cancelling it woth no further action and it wouldn't cost me a penny. I even got an apology. Still absolutely peed right off but can finally relax and get a better deal else where with a decent broadband speed.

Do not go with EE standard broadband. It is terrible, Netflix, YouTube etc are un useable. Customer service useless and it has cost me a fortune as the kids are constantly going over their mobile data plans because the broadband is forever cutting out. Had Talktalk broadband previously (all the same cables, connections etc) and it was ten times better. Feel like I've been robbed and conned by EE

I have been with Orange broadband for several years, and the service was quite good, I was happy with it. BUT since EE has taken control the service is virtually unusable. I was getting around 3meg with Orange, now I am only getting 0.29 KBPS, which is virtually unusable. I have to sit and watch that bloomin streamer rotating. when I have called the Orange help phoneline you get someone in a call centre in India, you can't make out what they are saying, because the line is bad( not my phone) I have had enough of EE, so now I am looking at alternative broadband providers.
