I received a cold call to join EE broadband a year ago on a 18 month contract. I was told that it would be "cheaper & faster" than my sky broadband I had at the time which was giving me download speeds of around 10Mbps.

I agreed to join - paying a severance fee to Sky.

Unfortunately, since I switched over the internet speeds were very slow <1Mbps and sometimes the internet completely dropped. I raised the issue multiple times with EE and did all that they said to remedy this. It was always slow and the drops in connections kept happening.

Ultimately, after a while EE sent an engineer who was able to get me speeds of up to 6Mbps (albeit for a short time) but the drops in connection got worse. I was fed up and kept raising the issue.

Finally, at end of December I asked to leave the contract without paying the severance. They said that is not possible and I need to give a formal notice of leave and then they have 30 days to try and fix the issue. I did that.

They sent someone round and tried a few things but the issue wasn't solved. I gave my notice at end of Jan and EE informed me I need to pay the severance fee. Their explanation was that the issue that I raised was "fixed" when they put in a solution and any future issues I have are treated as a new issue and hence for their part they have fixed my issue. I have raised more than 15 issues in the time I was contracted to EE - all of which are apparently closed. And because of this I am to pay a severance fee when I leave EE.

To top it off they have the nerve to call me yesterday to incentivise me to stay with them. You can guess what my reply was!

Broadband from EE is the most amazingly rubbish service you can get. I was mis-sold this with promises of 20-25 Mb/s whereas in reality I can only get between 1 and 1.5Mb/s. Yes that's right!! No ability to watch videos and sometimes it takes me several attempts to log on. It is consistently rotten. It just makes no difference how many times I complain to them because nothing is done about it. EE have tied me into an 18 month contract and put up the price half way through. Really rotten broadband and a really rotten company to deal with. They provide a third world service with no support to the customer. I would never recommend EE to anyone!!!

"Upgraded to EE fibre Optic broadband from free orange standard broadband. From day one it has been the worst, unreliable broadband I've had to date. Absolutely rubbish customer service, who tell you to do the same old crap time and time again. Absolutely disgusted at this provider, can't wait for my contract to end!!!! Constand low speeds of 3 to 10mps at very very best when I was promised and pay for 39mbps!

Save yourself the crap and don't even bother!

I haven't had signal propally since I've been with ee, they are the worst network around and I have full 4gee with the iPhone 5s and unlimited everything And they can't help me. I will be cancelling my bank account so they are unable to transact any money from my account . Andi will not bee paying them for a service I was promised but yet never receeved. Thank you and good day

as of now I have had 5 ee routers all keep going faulty, We have just found out the problem!!, I am a ham radio and have got a hf antenna on my roof and according to bt it is my radio that is blowing the routers with rf affecting the routers, because ee only supply cheap routers they are no good for me, ee want me to buy a 3rd party router and they will pay upto £50, but as I have told them if that router goes faulty in 12mth time will you buy another one NO they say ??, I am on a 18mth contract and they will not let me go with out paying them £105 "half of what I owe", it is not my fault if the routers are not up to the job.
I did not have any problems with other suppliers IE sky/talktalk, I think the only way round this is to stop the dd from my bank as the customer services are useless.

Avoid like the bubonic plague. I opened two contracts out and internet is slow as slugs. Issue cannot be resolved by the internet so you have to call and speak to them. Intercut cuts off and slows down very annoying, tech team can't do much as well. Really don't know what to do feel like I've been scammed. Don let fall for the cheap price if you u get is a rubbish connection.

i wish we had never got home broadband with EE. Customer service is disgraceful, broadband doesn't work when connected with sky box the three people i have spoken to have all told me different things, i have been sent 2 wireless routers now. they won't send an engineer to solve the problem so refusing to pay for the service and sending the equipment back to them. Never had a problem before with other broadband providers.

I was told by the salesman in the EE store that this service as as good as SKY 'WRONG'. I find the speed to be so slow at times that I can't wait for February when I can tell them where to shove it. if it was any slower this would be a letter. At times my speed has been as slow as 0.16 I can crawl faster than that. It is so slow I wouldn't even suggest it to my enemies. As for the call center all they do is pass you from pillar to post then resolve the issue for 2 days then hey presto back to square one I GIVE UP they're CR*P

Been with EE for 3yrs - needed wifi calling and no mobile reception where we are. 3-5mb download speed, poor, but typical for area. Everything was fine until I got a fault on the line, and again and again and again. The Customer services are very polite but utterly powerless to correct faults. 10+ weeks without phone and internet whilst trying to self isolate. I've had legal threats from organisations I who money too on top of financial stress of not being able to work online or manage any of my financial affairs. EE response - we are not obliged to pay compensation so we won't. EE are not a serious business - just sharks. Super quick to take your money, but no intention to actually provide a service. Ofcom needs to pull its finger out and FORCE these zombie businesses to behave like a serious essential utility provider or put them out of business.

If I could give a minus star for them all I would. We have been with EE since February, the Internet signal is rubbish so we decided to go for fibre. They kept saying we would be connected time and time again and now they have finally decided, 4 months down the line, that we cannot get fibre so we are left with a signal that, at most, is 0.2. This is no good for anything.

Retro style is fashionable in many areas, one can buy retro cars, clothes, furniture even wallpaper.
Lovers of nostalgic styles will be happy to note that EE have now launched their retro internet package. With EE "Broadband" you can now experience the internet as it was in the good old 1990's with abysmal download speeds and repeated dropped connection for seemingly no reason what so ever. hurrah I hear you say, for how long has the word buffering been missing from our lives. The excitement of waiting for a simple email to open, the near stalling of your connection when six o'clock approaches. Its all back with EE's internet package unfortunately they seem to have missed out the old 56k dialling tone which is a shame but otherwise its the complete experience of historical internet access.

Absolute rip off. They reduced the price for the plan I am currently on to 28 GBP. Strangely, they increased mine to 36.88 GBP. When I asked for a price match they refused saying you are in a contract. Instead of valuing their existing customers they rip them off. Avoid EE broadband. They will try to tie you in a contract and then they will rip you off

Have been with Wanadoo/Orange/EE for 23 years but due to their inflexibility and customer satisfaction have cancelled my service. All I wished to do was move house and take my existing broadband arrangement with me but they will not allow me to. Totally dissatisfied. Broadband speed at best has been 764kps.

So low at times you can't watch a movie, the circle goes round and, and the picture is frozen. This is costing me now about £28 a month. I'm in a contract so powerless. The spellchecker says I'm 95% slower than other providers in the area. I can't stand the hassle from this provider. Never again.

Internet is super slow, constant lags. When you call customer services you wait at least 20 minutes (on more than 1 occasion) to speak to staff who keep you on the phone for over an hour trying things you have already tried (Switching on and off... come on). Promised calls backs that never happen. Ending up cancelling and going with another company. Terrible

Been with EE for 3 years, finally took the plunge and I’m moving on to a different provider, after my contract ended I started getting charged £41 a month just for internets. I have the same issues as others with internet dropping out various times a day, sometimes having to reboot the router just to access the internet. Very slow connections in the early morning and late evening, I would avoid if you need fast internet or reliable internet. Only positive experience I have with EE is their customer service is always friendly and helpful.

Changed from Sky to EE has to be the worst mistake I made. I have or should I say supposed to have the highest broadband they do was poor at first but gave it a fair shot as I put it down to being new. I haven't even had it a month and I'm hating it. Internet cuts off and is slower than any I have ever tried. Why am I paying for "unlimited" "great speed Internet" which I do not receive.

the problem with Orange is that their customer service is diabolical. Up to 35 mins to get connected, if you get through to the wrong department expect a further long delay to get connected to the correct department
    Promised actions seldom materialise.
Phone calls not returned etc . Staff not trained correctly.
    I could go on.

When renewing BT contract, thought BT and EE were one company. I mistakenly was sent an EE router. Got in touch with EE at least five times and was promised each time would resolve matter.Nothing happened and I got a bill for £50 which I did not owe. Made a complaint to EE who decided to put me in Debt Recovery which threatened my credit rating etc. Sent them info re Tracking from Post Office but still took weeks to resolve. Was resolved to my satisfaction. Am in mid seventies and treated like a thief. In short, keep away from this company

I have not even received one hour of my expected speeds since moving house. I was shown on the EE website my line could reach expected speeds* of 67.0mb/s with a line that can support between 54.0mb/s AND 80.0mb/s. In actual fact I am only receiving speeds of between 4.76mb/s to 22.0mb/s!! And I'm paying £34.99 for the privilege. Needless to say I am leaving.

EE has become hopeless recently. I am on 38MBPS fibre contract, but usually get 12 to 15MBPS. For a brief moment last night I got 23MBPS but it didn't last. Gaming is a nightmare - the PS4 drops out, while the smart TV regularly freezes. Can't get anyone to answer the helpline due to 'high demand'. I want to throw my dinner at the TV when Kevin Bacon does his adverts.

We have suffered poor or no broadband for months with EE unable to find a fault. They finally agreed yesterday to arrange a BT engineer to test the line (today). He almost immediately found a break and mended it....however even though it is fixed we are still stuck on 1.6mb download speed. Sick to death of the poor service.

Since EE have taken over from Orange and changed the Livebox to the "Brightbox" the service has reduced from 2mb to 0.97 down and from 2mb to 0.37 upload. That is when It connects, it "drops" out on a regular basis (Daily) which at first I thought was updating it self, but since the start of this year has been the most frustrating infuriating experience I have ever had, the on/off switch has been worked harder than a kitchen fan at high speed, Customer Support?..they cant spell it let alone practise it! Stay away from EEuk! (sadly cant give Zero Star rating! or claim for the anger management lessons)....Happy to pay a little extra and On my way back to BT from Tomorrow!

I originally signed an 18 month contract for superfast fibre broadband with ee. Never satisfied with the speed, even after their engineer visited,(they tried to charge me for), after 18 months decided to trf my broadband, only to be told by other providers my telephone wire could not deliver 78mb. arguing that It can, cause im paying for it, I decided to test my download and upload speeds... 5 to 10 download, a bit better for upload.
At this time ee decided to call me , to ask, how happy I was about my upgrade and renewal contract. I thought the guy was not from ee as I didn't renew my contract. Any way it turned out he was genuine, and he agreed, testing at his end, I was only getting 17 something or other, which was very low, and cant be fibre, (that's why I thought him a fraud). I now contacted ee, saying ie...im getting 5 to 10, someone claiming from ee says im getting 17, which is very low, explain. The lady said, ermmmmmmmmm doesn't seem you getting fibre at all. ( later now 14/10/15) I think I understand why.* When they talk you through the process, you have a choice of ???? and fibre, I wasn't given that advice, so all along I was not on fibre...
They agreed to refund me £110, which is only 1 years of charges they charged me. (not the 2 years I was with them), But agreed to £28 per month, with two months free, for the extra year they owed me, being £10 less than I would have paid in the past. Holding me to randsom, so to speak. They should have said, sorry, we charged you for two years for a service you could not receive, ie between firbre and super fibre...here is 220 refund, then they should have said, we owe you the difference from 17mb to fibre, so here is some extra money for a service you did not receive. I had in the mean time needed to cancel with sky, my new chosen provider, to ensure I got at least some money back.
I received a text message, saying my new switchover to their basic fibre was ready, Took day off work to be ready...Only to be told .ermmm by midnight. Next day 10 am no internet...called to be told and given a ref number, it to be escalated and someone will call back at 12, they never did. I called at 1.30 to be told, expect a call by 3pm.I called at 4 to be told, expect a call next day. called customer services, to say if im not connected tonight, I will leave, as I will not take a 3rd day off work.
Just so happens my boarder works for sky, and my son in law, father works.........for guess who????????? Came over to see if I was doing something wrong.........NOPE, not me. EE, just had not switched me over to the new router. My friends, reinstalled my old router, which I am using to type this message on.

So why text and email me, I am now switched over, and they will monitor me for the next 10 days? Why bother to pretend there is a tech fault when there isn't one? obviously there isn't one,as im now rehooked up to my old router and system...Ref number for ee complaint to be sescalated at 10 am is1725837, no one called at 12pm, then to be told at 3, again no one called, to be told they call the next day. NO WAYS AM I TAKING A THRID DAY OFF WORK.

Terrible. Moved in to a new house. Requested a line activating. After two weeks of waiting I had heard nothing. Apparently they had problems changing the line over. Rather than let me know they did nothing. I'm waiting to cancel the order as we speak.

This company has caused nothing but headaches since getting their broadband service. I finally decided to switch providers but even after receiving confirmation of cancellation back in May, I was still being charged. I then had to inform my bank that payment should not be sent to this company. After speaking to 5 different customer service representatives telling me that all has been rectified, this morning I get a call from billing trying to know why I haven't paid! Mind you, I've been with another company for several months, getting excellent service that doesn't drop every hour and I still have to deal with a garbage company like EE. After speaking with the EE representative again, a few minutes later I get a text from my current company stating that my service has been cancelled as requested. I was informed by that company that a service provider has seized my service with then in order to take over my account!!!! When I contacted EE they claimed that they didn't do it. I find it really suspicious that shortly after speaking with an EE representative, my current company's service is seized by EE! What evil people! Now I have to wait two weeks for my service to be reinstated by my current company who by the way has been doing an excellent job as my service provider. If EE thinks I will deal with them again, I will never. I hope everyone sees this review. Tell your friends and family not to deal with this dishonest and sneaky company. Evil people! When I was with EE, they provided horrible service and were dishonest in their dealing even after I cancelled my account with them. I hope never to deal with this again.

Worst Worst Worst customer service ever! Not sure how they are still in business. I have been with ee for about a year. No issues when I first signed up a year ago. However I applied for a house move recently and ee couldn't get my broadband working for nearly a month!

Every time I called I was put on a waiting list for as long as half hour and even when they picked the call they just passed me from one dept to another.

What was meant to be a 10 working day SLA to activate broadband never happened even after several calls. They gave 3 more dates never to be adhered to. Complaints to customer services didn't go far as they just put me through to home dept who transferred to technical dept and so on. Call centre in India are crap and they even hung up after putting me on waiting for few min.

I eventually decided to exit EE (wish I had done that sooner) and went to BT who activated my phone and broadband in 5 working days exactly what they told me when signing up.

EE promised to refund the payment they took in Aug and asked me not to cancel direct debit as the funds will be returned through it but they had taken another payment 4 days ago, so I have another battle on my hand to get my money back.

I am so angry with EE that I am considering to also cancel my mobile contract with T-Mobile as it's now owned by EE, although there is nothing wrong with the mobile service (for now!)

I suggest it's worth your time and money, even if your are paying slightly more,to go with either BT or Virgin. I think they provide a far better service.
