It is hard to describe this broadband. I've read the reviews here and it seems that EE are just as Rubbish wherever you live, they know it and can't care less. I was misold this. Promised 20Mbps. Can only get 1.2 to 1.5Mbps.....when it works. Sometimes I cannot log on. Dire broadband. Sensationally slow to the point of making streaming totally impossible. I have rung EE "customer service dept" 13 times now. Nothing has changed...but nothing. This is the worst broadband provider that I have ever signed up with. False information and no support service coupled with a lousy and totally unuseable broadband make this company one to avoid. Oh...and to top it all they introduced a mid-term price rise after promising the payment would not increase for the duration of the contract....! This company is a fraud!

Already EE mobile customer and agreed to fibre broadband, mainly because much cheaper than BT. Then read these reviews. Shock, horror! Thought of cancelling, but didn't.
Anyway, service connected on right day, speed 3or4 times faster than previous and amount of first bill as promised! Early days but flying start.

Two months without reliable connection. Was told same answer over and over again but no action. Rude customer services staff who cut me off a few times. I would not go with this provider. There is no value for money. Worst mistake of my broadband life. Indeed not all broadband providers are created equal. Run for your sanity.

Problem with the line, multiple calls and engineer visits, line constantly cutting out and stuttering not reliable, cuts streaming off locks apps up, game play hard latency problems, and all this could be fixed by not having fibre to my local green cabinet then an old fashioned copper wire to my house, pointless it's not fibre as a true connection, only to the area connection box then your on your own suckers.

EE broadband is one massive scam. Doesn't work properly ever. Cannot get on and when I can it's too slow to send an email with an attachment. No chance for streaming. Constant buffering and freezing. Garbage broadband. No interest from service department who are rude and uninterested. Cannot wait for the contract to end. Do not go to this scam EE.

Absolutely rubbish. Struggle to watch BBC I player, stopping every 10 - 20 seconds buffering.
    Internet connection keeps dropping out.
11 more months of this rubbish.!
Can't contact customer service any way except on the phone were you are on hold for 20 mins. Then you get a foreign call centre! They can never help. Help me please.

Probably Britain's worse company. Twice they have had me without any Broadband connection for over a month at a time. Lots of broken promises of when I'd be reconnected and customer service representatives that simply lie.
I've 3 old unused routers from them as they kept sending out the wrong one as they weren't Fibre compatiable and they would send them to seemingly random places, including a work place that I hadn't worked at for over 12 months. Yet EE claim they didn't even have that address on their records and were adamant it was sent to my correct address. It wasn't.
Popping into their stores is no help what-so-ever.
Stay away from EE unless you want to end up suicidal.

ABSOLUTELY FUMING. WARNING to all of you out there who doesn't want to get royally ripped off!!!! EE ARE A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. received my router a month ago and still NO connection. Have called the customer service team numerous times to be given different answers every time. Absolutely no clue. I've now been told my account is locked because of billing issues!! HAHAHA billing issues? I've paid them in excess of £100 because I paid for the line rental in a bulk payment!! What a mistake that was! Another story they have concocted. Received NO internet signal and I'm still being told to pay! Pay for a service I'm not using! I've had so many different conversations between akhmed, sheena, Raheem it doesn't seem to matter anymore what the problem is, all they're concerned about is how to think of a different excuse!! How do we escalate this? It is SO UNJUST. engineers also been called (had to take a day off- THANKS), turns out the line was never active - ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY!! Don't be fooled, I certainly was. But then why would I be dubious, Kevin Bacon, the great Hollywood actor, is the face of the company after all. they tell you the line is active (after doing a false line test) and it's 100% not. The engineer had to reconnect the line and told me to take it up further with EE as the line is SO weak I wouldn't receive a good connection anyway. I could go on and on about this but until I get a resolution I am not prepared to sit here and say nothing about this terrible terrible excuse of a service.

This is an initial review as line has only gone live this morning.
I had a chat I store with very helpful member of staff. Signed up, I've had emails and texts informing me of progress and when equipment would turn up. Everything happened when I was advised it would be.
Switchover day the old router was flashing, just unplugged that and plugged EE one in. There is a handy plastic tab on the side you can remove with the password and other info on, such a good idea.
Had no problems at all while experience has been seemless. Speed is 2mbps slower but likely to increase to 28 where it was when it's settled.
I used Call Centre once to ask if I'd need to contact Vodafone, that call was answered quickly and I was told they'd handle everything and they have.
    So far very happy.

Always on a BT landline was with Freeserve from 1998 on pay monthly dialup, then broadband from 2005 onwards. (Government forbade BT providing broadband in my area). They called themselves Wanadoo, Orange, EE and now owned by BT? They started double-charging line rental on "MAXIMUM PAYMENT PLAN" ? I already pay BT for this so I changed my broadband to BT since January. EE continue to extract £35 monthly payments from my debit card as they have my card number.

I've been with ee for many years now but over the last year 6 months the broadband has got worse. I've rang numerous times and get the same answer "working on it" from 8pm to 7am roughly, I have to use my phone Internet as the broadband doesn't load a thing. I would not recommend ee to anybody at all. Excuses after excuses on why they want my money but can't provide the service I'm paying for. Goodbye and hello sky broadband

I was with ee for 6months, in which time I had nothing but trouble. Super slow speeds, rubbish customer service and going round and round in circles. I had engineers sent out and the cause could not be found. They kept asking me to ring them and tell them the speeds over weeks. They never improved and in fact got worse. Fibre optic running at 2mbps ha!!! The internet kept cutting out whilst browsing. Films wouldn't buffer etc. They then charged me engineer fees which I had to get refunded by my bank. In the end I rang up and cancelled. They tried charging me £250 until I told them simply they were the ones breaching the contract and that they can send me a bill but I wont be paying it. I will be paasing it on to trading standards who will deal with it on my behalf. I was put on hold for 5 mins to then be told they would be cancelling it woth no further action and it wouldn't cost me a penny. I even got an apology. Still absolutely peed right off but can finally relax and get a better deal else where with a decent broadband speed.

EE is an appalling mobile phone service provider and I recommend that everyone avoids it like the plague. From start to finish their service verges on scamming potential and actual customers. Contracts are sold to unwary potential customers with price and service promises which are pure fiction. EE does not send out written terms until AFTER the two week statutory cooling off period for contracts negotiated by phone. If you try to complain at that point that the written terms are different from those quoted and on which your decision to take out the contract was based, you are told that couldn't possibly be the case, EE sales agents would never lie, and therefore, by implication you are lying. In fact, it IS the EE Sales Rep who has lied and given a fictitious quotation. They refuse to amend the terms to agree with the quote and if you ask whether the call was recorded and therefore could they refer to it, they fob you off with an excuse like: recordings are not available for customer disputes, only to help EE to train their staff, or other similar rubbish. My advice: don't touch EE with a twenty foot bargepole if you can possibly help it. If you do have to go with them, make sure you get your contract terms IN WRITING before signing up their Direct Debit authorisation which, would you believe, arrives the day after agreeing the contract on the telephone. Of course, they couldn't possibly send out the terms and conditions at the same time - apparently it takes a whole month to process those. It's a big scam to sell EE contracts on false premises and lock you in on terms to which you never agreed.

No stars from me. If it were possible I'd give a minus quantity.

    AVOID.

Dear god, that was one of the worst experiences ever. I wish I had seen all these reviews before switching to EE broadband.

Installed on a monday, a week later we still have no broadband.

30+ calls and on hold for well over 8 hrs all told. Passed around from person to person, call centers with people who can barely speak english.

One time we were on hold for an hr, when we got answered they told us rudely that they were busy and would phone us back within 2 hrs.

    That phone call never came.

    Still no broadband.

Will be cancelling and asking for a refund.

I urge ANYONE who reads this. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT, select EE as your Broadband provider.

I don't know how these people are still in business.

I changed to EE from Primus Newcall for which there is not a low enough rating as far as I am concerned! When I was connected to EE I could not initially get broadband and spent several hours on the phone with the technical support team (all of whom were extremely helpful) culminating in a home visit from a BT engineer who had been told the job was urgent and quickly resolved the problem. Broadband speed is excellent but only just up and running so can't comment on reliability. What a difference from months of almost daily phonecalls to Primus trying to achieve a service fit for purpose . Thank you EE for treating me as though I matter all systems can have problems it's the way they are dealt with that counts.

Have tried getting a contract out of them for a fortnight now. Have no idea what I have got with them other than an idea from someone at the phone. Have spent an hour to the HelpLine(!!!) to be told then cannot help but that the local EE shop would be able to let me have a copy. They, of course, denied that and put me through to another help line who said they could give me the details over the phone! Still no contract. Came home and tried another number and was again told that a contract could not/would not be sent. Asked to cancel the contract and was told that a cancellation fee would be charged! Haw can they charge a contract cancellation fee when there is no contract? STAY AWAY FROM THEM, they are an internet/phone communication company that does not know how to communicate.

Absolutely the worst company ever. I was promised my broadband/phone package would be up and running 4th October. 19th October got my phone line and still had to wait for broadband. I called everyday for a month trying to sort. After 1 month could not get my old telephone back then was told I should have kept my old router from at least 5 years ago as they were not going to send another. Now it constantly goes offline, slowest I have ever had. Stay well clear.

Tried repeatedly to improve speed but asian call centre would follow script and when it didn't work would hang up . This occurred 3 times. gritted teeth and endured till the one year contract ended then the day after I left , I received 3 calls asking me to stay with promises to fix issues. the last caller got angry with me when I refused to stay and got very rude. I used to work for Orange, before they got taken taken over by France Telecom and then had to be bailed-out by the French government. Even while I was working with them I saw investment in network hardware drop-off and a sales-focused service under France Telecom replace what used to be a customer-service focus under Hutchinson Telecom (who started Orange). Since they've merged to become EE I can imagine what's happened. I still have my Blackberry with EE because the service on that is very good - I'm on contract so I'm paying for it to be very good! The issue is with my broadband, which has become near to useless since Orange became EE. As an ex-employee I know the sort of things they're likely to get up to. I got a message last night that I couldn't use iPlayer because I had 'insufficient bandwidth'- that's an ISP server-issue. I would imagine that since the merger, they've been 'rationalising' use of the servers to squeeze maximum profit out of them by giving preference to TV-package customers and throttling everyone else's service out of existence. They probably won't invest in better servers, and even if they do, with the BBC under threat and people like Sky to compete with for TV services, they'll probably still pass the advantages on to TV customers. I'll keep my mobile with EE but I'm moving my broadband, probably to BT so that I can get a combined phone/broadband deal and stand a chance of getting improvements on the access line at the same time.

Worst broadband i have ever had , best i have had out of ee brightbox 2 is 12.2 mbps upload , 1.9 mbps download .
Rang them a while ago , took me ages to get some sort of answer , they took me through setting and made a few changes it then improved very slightly but after a few days back to square one , trying to go on youtube or watch a movie is like waiting for an amstrad to load up "PAINFULL"

EE is just a NIGHTMARE! Since the beginning of January I am having about an hour internet per day, with a speed of 0.2 Mb/s, otherwise there is no connection!!!! I called tens of times, and every time they ask me to look at the router homepage, unsecrew the phone socket et the usual rubbish, then apparently they raise a bit the speed on my connection so I get the internet for about an hour then the connection is lost again for the rest of the day!!! Don't go with EE please.

Just switched my broadband from TalkTalk to EE. My EE broadband was activated today but I still haven't received the router from EE! They claim that it it small enough to fit through a standard letter box and that their courier tried to deliver 3 times - I have a standard letter box and still no router... I called them 3 times and today was told they would post another one next Monday. This means I won't have any internet access for nearly a week... Very disappointed, wish I'd stayed with TalkTalk...

Paying for 38G speed getting 16G at the mo. The line deliverd 37.8G when the contract started but gradually got slower and slower after that. Also broadband has dropped out over a dozen times in the last 2 days, have complained. Will change provider as soon as the contract runs out.

Over-priced, incredibly slow and EE teams that are very difficult to pin down what is happening / why it's terrible. When I asked to leave they all said that they understand why and they are surprised at how long I have stayed given how terrible it is. Even leaving - they have made it so difficult - my new provider will do it / i should have done it - here is a bill for last month even though you thought you'd left etc. Good news when you're really messed around they offer you a £15 voucher towards a bill that you don't think you should be paying anyway!

The consistency of service provided by EE is absolutely shocking I get a better speed using my neighbours wifi than I do using my own, it's nearly as bad as the barley operating 3G service I receive on my 4g contract,
Sometimes the broadband is so poor I end up tethering my phone ( maybe that's why they gave me moor mobile data)
Do yourself a favour and don't bother with these muppets

I have been a customer of ee for a number of years. Recently my livebox died (RIP Big Fella) so ee decided to send me the "much more capable and, my friend, much better" brightbox. Great I thought, what can possibly go wrong. Well when BT Wholesale speedtest can't actually measure the speed as its too low then it seems like things can go wrong. So I did what a 5 star reviewer suggested....I called support. Only problem is that customer support is very difficult to get hold of. Fancy watching GoT tonight? No I think I'd rather sit and listen to hold music all night long. Fancy watching a film on netflix? Nah...I'd rather listen to customer support hold music. So this goes on for a while. Get through a few times, many platitudes uttered, lots of empathy, a couple of times even a bit of help....although the speed always dropped back again. So I found out eventually that the "intelligent internet" function had never been enabled. Don't worry they said, we've typed out a memo they said, it'll be sorted out in 72 hours they said. No, no it wasn't. Put in a complaint. We'll be back to you soon...within 72 hours...nah. This company has truly gone down the crapper. Moving asap....mobile will be going too as soon as contract allows

If only I could give no stars or better still minus stars for this disgusting excuse for a broadband Internet service provider. Snail pace download speed. Totally unreliable. You can guarantee being unable to log on. Buffering and freezing video streaming is the norm and as for their joke of a service department.....just don't go there!!
