Changeover day and they have forgotten to send the router! Basic, but unforgivable error given how much we rely on the internet and was expecting a seamless switch.

Joined Plusnet standard broadband from Now Broadband previously. I dont have fibre in my area. Broadband was working fine with Now,but Plusnet was a disaster from day 1. We all worked from home as it was lockdown and Now Broadband was fine. So why did Plusnet fail me, we had problems everyday of the week. Always losing WiFi and getting shouted at by kids. Plusnet tried doing things their end, but then just said its my problem as they're showing fine from their side. But I know that was rubbish as other suppliers never gave me issues at all. After all I was using the same phoneline, just different useless Plusnet router. Having given up now I've moved to Virgin, I've still got 9 months left of my 18 month contract but il pay to get away from these clowns. Seriously it should be easier to get away from a disaster service like Plusnet. Maybe award winning but what about those of us they can't send a decent supply to?? Surely they should do more or let us go without penalites?? I'm cancelling my sim with them just because I'm so angry at paying £89 early exit fee to leave them. Good riddance Trashnet. Would give zero stars if I could

Customer service is very poor and appalling. They made me to wait more than hour and a half just to change my address and get the refund because of the house move and to upgrade top speed or check the line at least if it's working properly. House move was arranged over 6weeks and they didn't even bothered to change it to my current address and didn't refund me the money for a month that we haven't used their broadband or phone services. On top of that when I went through technical team he says that we could have fibre optic broadband and transfers it to customer service without even checking the line is working or not. When I reach the customer service they say that there isn't a fibre optic line in place at the property?
They don't seem to know about their systems to check what's there what isn't. Finally when I got crossed about the again she said that a manager would ring me in an hour. I also recently found out that for leaving plus net in spite of finishing the contract they charge you leaving fee?
    Ridiculous service.

This is actually a review of their e-mail service - works perfectly EXCEPT when you want to access it remotely through webmail.plus.net - I cannot remember the last time I was able to connect without problems - how is it that gmail can do it with millions of subscribers and plus net cannot manage it with the thousands they have - does not instil confidence in their technology

If I could give 0 stars I would! I have found them to be no help at all and their internet does not work. We recently had an engineer sent to our house to fix the internet and he made it even worse! They know their is a problem and never seem to be able to solve it just pass it onto another person! I have rang up so many times I have lost count and they tell you to do the same things to check where the issue is and none of these seem to help! Do not waste your money! They also keep trying to sell us fibre internet which is funny because they cannot even get their standard internet package to work so have no idea how they can get fibre internet to work!!

Been with Plusnet for a couple of months and started having problems so rang them. They are no help on the phone but they arranged an engineer. The engineer came to fix the problem and made it worse! Been running speed checks and the download and upload speed is both below 1! Terrible service and everything takes forever to fix!!

Initially Plusnet was good, although my internet was always slow on a Sunday maybe because it was peak. If you are late with payments they sa they give you 14 days which is no way true you can just about log onto fb but you can't do anything else. My internet has been going in and out of service for over a week now after a call wait 3 times of over 50 minutes and the service is still no better I have gone with someone else. The call wait time alone is ridiculous and then for the customer service to pass you around to wait longer and the issue is still not resolved just made my mind up. Don't bother using this company.

Then have the cheek to tell me their billing software disconnected my internet LOL.
    Next joke.

The only reason we've connected to this ISP was because we had no other alternatives. The service is bad - speed was fluctuating, the line was unstable and during the first 2 months wasn't even hitting 40MB/s while paying for 60. The technical support is even worse though - they had to send their engineers (3 different ones mind you) during 2 months of troubleshooting. Just don't bother.

Plusnet were very slow in switching to them. Took them 5 weeks to switch over service from previous ISP. Plusnet One hub worked fine for a week then started dropping devices. They would all say connected but you could not get online. The only workaround was to reboot which eventually would connect again only to disconnect later that same day. This problem persisted around a week before things started to settle down and touch wood been OK since. However, I noted the problem appeared to be whenever devices tried to connect to the 5GHZ, devices on 2.4GHZ were ok. Looking for advice on the net, it became apparent that this issue is quite common with the Plusnet One hub and numerous discussions can be found. It would be good to use 5GHZ as when I could the speed was much faster. Turning to the line speed, the speed is running at around 4 to 5mb download slower than previous ISP and around 3mb upload slower. (Street cabinet only being 4 houses from me and the exchange being 0.7 miles away). That said its more than adequate to stream iplayer and the like. Plusnet are competitive on price

Oh dear! I joined Plusnet few weeks ago. Did not realise they are owned by BT! I did not know about this forum until now. What a disaster. I spend more time waiting for Customer Service to aswer the phone than I do online. Current speed 0.38. What dreadful people. Do not touch.

Customer support is excellent with contact centres in the UK, I've been a customer for 5 years now, firstly on adsl and then on superfast fibre when it became available, speed and reliability has been consistently good. Packages are competitive & I have found that they will offer deals, so I recommend when your contact is up give customer services a call. They also offer a very competitive tv deal as well as discounted BTSport. Phone Line rental, caller I'd and anytime call package is cheaper than bt.

Been with Plusnet for many years now on their top tier package but have noticed a gradual decline in the level of customer service.
The final straw came when recently I contacted them to report an issue that I was having sending emails. The agent immediately dismissed my problem, was unwilling to engage a member of the email technical team, was very impolite - and then closed the chat! This is despite the fact I explained that Plusnet accidentally put a block on my sending emails previously so there was already a history of poor technical service.
It's sad to see, what used to be a quality service provider, erode their customer service but I for one will now be moving away from Plusnet.

Avoid at all costs, may seem cheap, but the charges add up and the speed is awful. Speeds are at best 1.5Mb/s whenever tested and feels like dial up at most times. Almost impossible to watch catch up TV and downloading a song takes 10 minutes.

Also beware that they will charge you £30 to disconnect your broadband even if you leave them outside of your contract period.

Have been with plusnet for many years and up to the last year its been great. I went on their FTTP trial and was getting 80MBPS. But in July 2019 everything went wrong - their billing system failed , and I couldn't change anything on my account - on the plus side they stopped billing me , and haven't done for over a year
Rang up to change something on my account as couldn't do it online , and was told changes could only be made if they closed my old account and opened a new one , but I would have to give up my FTTP and go back to FTTC (speed reduction from 80MBPS to 3 MBPS)
they have now had a year to try and fix , and it just seems beyond them sol leaving and moving to BT

Well looked at all the review after ordered plusnet and I must say that my broadband is fine and fast and does what I need it to do, firestick phone laptop no blips on a normal broadband unlimited for £20 I'm happy with my broadband and me and my partner have been with a few and they are rubbish! But this one has been the best for us. Home move was free even though I just signed up to a diff adress and the customer service well was a pile of rubbish but other than that me and my partner are happy

The worst customer service department on the planet. You always have to wait in excess of 15 minutes to be then passed to another department (another minimum of 15 minute wait, you then get passed to another dept and you wait again then get cut off just like a carry on film! You get no answers, shameful pathetic service, use this company and get bored waiting. Use a respected provider not this tin-pot outfit!

Slow speeds, sometimes slower than dial up. Sporadic broadband service, router not fit for purpose. On the plus side the staff polite & helpful but lack capability to do anything. Worth paying the early termination fee to get out.

I have been with them for about 4 years. The service has been alright compared to other providers. I contacted them to upgrade to fibre and ask for the same deal they are advertising, they would not as that was only for new customers. I am leaving because they want to overcharge existing customers to pay for discounts to new customers. I may go back in 18 months but feel they give you little choice but to walk.

Moved from BT because I was paying a lot for a slow connection, which is all that is available here. Plusnet is much cheaper. The switch was simple - just a few hours between BT turning me off and Plusnet becoming active. The speed is the same - not surprising since it is the same network. I didn’t even need to set up the Plusnet router. I just put my Plusnet user name and password into the BT router and it works perfectly. I suspect the Plusnet router is less sophisticated than the BT one, but I haven’t tried it. You get some extra bells and whistles with BT (wi-fi hotspots etc) but, if you don’t need them Plusnet seems like a good bet.

Ordered broadband, needed a new router as I currently have talk talk.

They messed up the order and didn't bother sending me a router, when I phoned all they would say was "we can't do anything other than post you a new router with 3-5 working days delivery"

No escalation route, no manager to talk to, no effort to fix the problem.

Absolutely useless, I'm going to be without internet on the run up to Christmas just when I need it for shopping.

If you have a problem this is where the problems start. The customer service is poor. Many times it is almost impossible to speak to someone unless you are willing to wait on the phone, waiting times of up to 30 minutes is not unusual.

Business Broad is absolutely shocking. The internet keeps cutting out. I've contacted Plusnet to get the issue fixed but are literally not intersted in responding.
Since I reported the above issue I am moving offices and they are more than happy to do that but I still need my internet working in the meantime but again they deceide not to responding to that issue.

Literally the Home & Business Broad & the customer service is absolutely shocking
They billed my incorrectly when I first took out the contract, took 50 minutes to get through to speak to someone, the last think you want to do when running a business is this.

I did have Plusnet home broadband, I live in a normal sized flat but the internet did not reach to the whole flat, very poor. I have sinced move my home broadband.
Once my business broadband contract up I'm 100% moving.

I was with Madasafish Broadband for a long time, then they become Plusnet. Never had any problems with connection - always stable and fast connection. Customer service always responsive and quick to fix any mistakes I made in settings. Recently upgraded to fibre and its more of the same - consistently fast speeds and solid connection.

We changed from regular plusnet to plusnet fibre unlimited only to find that plusnet traffic management policy means we are restricted to 2mb download in evenings or often no internet. After midnight it download jumps to 35mb's but so what at that time of night. Its such a waste of time and money.

Basically we have no internet to speak of and its an 18 month contract. Complete and utter rip off, unless you're in all day or an insomniac. Never again.

I just wish we had known that plusnet do peak time throttle like this but it gets us out of an evening if we have to find internet somewhere else, cafes, libraries etc.

Been with them over 18months and just renewed my contract for a further 18 which resulted in a £5 discount being applied.

They've also recently one through an infrastructure upgrade which has resulted in near doubling my internet speed so now I hover around 50-60mbps most days when the advertised speed was 38mbps. This is consistent in peak times as well.

Had a couple of issues which were resolved and compensated fairly when I raised them (refunded a months bill for example)

Overall great service and would (have already since they have an incentivised referral scheme) recommended to friends/family.

Been with PlusNet for 12 months and have received a stable Broadband service throughout. The speed dips at peak times but nothing abnormal. Customer service team are UK-based and appear to have common sense. I have needed to call on them during initial setup and for a minor billing issue.

    DIABOLICAL

Just took £71 from my bank account months after they assured me that they wouldn't. Cut a long story short it was for an engineer call out to fix an issue that was beyond our control. In several conversations with agents and managers we were assured that we would not be charged as the fault was not of our doing. I'm absolutely livid. I'm out of the country so my wife has tried to deal with it but the agent just kept barraging her saying 'Were you aware of the charges?' to which she replied, 'We were told that we would not be charged otherwise we would not have accepted the appointment'. The guy then tried to call me wife back saying that he'd found the message which proved that we were told that we shouldn't be charged. Could he not have done that beforehand? Regardless, barraging somebody over the phone and essentially using bully tactics is not on. They are refunding us now but it's beside the point

When I first joined 2 years ago my house received a relatively good speed and connectivity for about the first 8 months or so. Then things gradually went downhill with more regular disconnects and slower speeds, down to 2 meg or less, not even enough for Netflix etc. This year has seen things get even worse, culminating in my getting home on the 15th June to find I had barely any connection at all, not even enough to load webpages properly. Since contacting them I have been passed from one "Analyst" to another over a matter of weeks, tried every single suggestion proposed (with many days between responses) and was then accused of having a faulty setup on my property so it was my problem. Finally upon calling the tech team again a different staff member indeed found that it is a line fault and would call me the next day with the outcome. Surprise surprise no phone call and no contact. My home has now been without broadband service for a MONTH while they are still twiddling their thumbs and keeping me completely uninformed (while happily taking my money).
So to sum up, they may have been decent a while ago, but now I'd have to advise anyone considering them to STAY AWAY from this outfit. You have been warned!

Awful corrupt company, tempt you in with deals and offers then charge high fees to move home or end contract. Web chat slow and normally can’t resolve queries without having to phone their customer services. Long queues in phone with abrupt advisors who are happy to tell you and email you directly after the call that they are going to pass details to debt collectors if you don’t pay charges.

    AVOID

Plusnet customer service is absolutely useless. Takes ages to get through when calling. And they cut off your broadband when you pay them!
