I am on my 2nd month with PO Broadband and can't wait to switch to another provider.

Gone downhill after the 14-day cooling period with extremely slow speed and cuts off constantly. Can't even browse the internet properly. I end up having to use my phone as hotspot most of the time.

Contacted them numerous time but getting nowhere. Phone them today at 20/04/2020 and got cut off twice after providing all my details.

You won't believe it can be that bad until you joined PO Broadband.

This is likely to be the worse broadband on planet earth. It deserves worse than a 1 star review in all the review parameters above.
I have been on a running battle with them since December 2019. Apart from the the broadband being horribly slow, there is no effective communication between the customer service and account teams. Signing up to this crap was the worse mistake of my life. DON'T make the same mistakes FOLKS.

This rant is the result of an 8 month build up culminating in an absolute **** show now that I am relying on using PostOffice broadband whilst working from home.
My stingy boyfriend changed internet providers last summer, as saving a couple of pounds a month makes a huge difference...
I was telling him at the time that "PostOffice" does, at least in my opinion, not stand for "innovative fast service", but more for "this will just do for your granny".
8 months into using their service, I can assure you that I would not even recommend this to anyone's granny.
So please, if you are considering changing your broadband provider to the PostOffice, D-O-N-T!!!!!

    AVOID!!!! Post office Broadband
Post office Broadband. Please avoid this company for your broadband supply. They actually use Talk Talk which is not said in any adverts. They promise speeds that have no way been achieved. As soon as I gave my notice to cancel the service the speeds have got even slower. Stick to parcels and letters.

Biggest load of crap. I am a young adult living by my self for the first time so I don’t have a lot of money to spare on WiFi so I thought I’d try post office, even if it might be a little slower. But a little is a BIG understatement. Not only does the connection drop constantly, doesn’t stream videos fully on laptops or phones it also can’t connect to consoles. When I try to ring the only answers I get are that it’s to do with where it’s plugged in at on the wall, which is a huge scam because I work in IT and I know very well there’s only a small difference if plastic is intercepting the connection. THIS IS A SCAM TO GET MONEY OUT OF THE ELDERLY AND PEOPLE WITH LOWER INCOMES. Do not buy, it’s so crap I’ve just upgraded my data package instead so I don’t even have to bother with it anymore.

Switched from plus net, for price, almost at once it kept dropping out but we were told it will improve, it hasn't.
Set up a DD for payment, have had no communication at all from them apart from sending us the router. No broadband a couple of days ago, phoned customer service who said we've been cut off as we had not paid so while on the line we paid with debit card and cancelled the DD. This morning we got a letter to say if not paid in 48hrs it will be passed to debt collector. An absolute shower with poor organisation, customer service at least got us back on line. Shame I cant give them zero stars, give them a wide berth, would certainly not recommend.

Go with the post office if you dare. Never again in my life will i ever go back to them. They are a joke and mislead and conned me out of £60. I tried to join them on the 27-11-19 by confused.com which stated i would get £60. Which i tried 3 times and ever time i got to the end and make the payment. It went potty and said i had to phone them to start it. So i did and then when i asked were my £60. Was. They said you don’t get the money because i had phoned them to take it out. Which when i checked the T&C number 2 stated you don’t get the money if you phone up to take it out. So i can see now why it would not let me make the payment on confused.com. Shocking way to con you and the speed is all over the place and keeps dropping out and when you complain, if you can get to talk to them, they will do nothing at all to sort things. Just keep saying ever think is good at they end. Another thing i also found out when i speed test on Ookla is that they use talktalks net work. Another company that i would never use again and is most likely the reason why the post office is so bad and have so many problems. BE WARNED and AVOID

I changed from Plus Net fibre to Post Office fibre and it was very easy with instant results. I get 30mgb with occasional drop out on Sunday mornings for a minute or two.
On the rare occasion I need help I get through to the call centre straight away. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Cannot ask for more.

Changed contract and they charged me £30 instead of £15. Fobbed off with "the contracts overlapped". Not good enough. With being disabled and the current situation we are all in with coronavirus, I can't afford £30 a month so if it's not back in my account next bill I will be cancelling and going elsewhere. Disgraceful!

Read the other reviews BEFORE you do anything, then go with anyone except these clowns. If you want dial-up speed and dropped connections you won't be dissappointed. Customer service is a joke and they lie, 2 engineers visits booked and when no-one showed they tell me they weren't booked - if you are a customer and want out complain to Meredith Sharples (look on ceo email for email address) then you will get to speak to someone in authority, once they go thru the motions ask them to send you a pre paid envelope for the return of the router, then tell them you have cancelled the direct debit and you look forward to the county court appearance before a judge to hear your evidence - it worked for me leaving the contract early, with compensation and no final bill. Hope this helps

I have slow broadband where I live, that's not their fault.

However, when I swapped from another company, the speed plummeted from 14Mbps to 8Mbps as soon as it swapped. No matter how hard I tried to get them to look at why, they just kept coming up with excuses and politely refusing to do anything. They even refused to swap the modem/router.

PO broadband are by far the cheapest, there's a good reason why!!!!

Fabulous broadband and router: speed same as many other providers; router has no issues in a crowded WiFi area (lots of flats).

The whole experience of managing the account is poor, however. No account password set up on sign-up (why?) nor sent in the post, have to phone and sit on hold, account portal is slow, SafeGuard portal is down so you can’t administer website access, have to manually select a post office email address from a drop-down on login (so your browser cannot just auto fill and if you haven’t realised it tells you your password is wrong/been forgotten). In short, I’m pleased but the whole customer experience would benefit from improvement: come on Post Office...fix these things and you’re onto a winner.

I changed over from sky because it was £10 a month cheaper. Big big mistake. Drops connection, expected speed 36Mbps mostly 16Mbps Unusable telephone due to crackling. This is a line fault. But cant be fixed due to the virus. I made a mistake and I'm stuck with this lot for another 11 months. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

PO Broadband is at least as good as the others that I have had - usually change to the cheapest each year. No difference in service from SSE broadband, Sky and PlusNet. PO was the cheapest when my PlusNet contract finished last August. No complaints since then - the occassional disconnect, but that occurred with PlusNet as well - just reboot the modem. I was sent an offer to upgrade my PO line to fibre (for £20.90 pm). Customer service very helpful and efficient. I will update when my fibre connection is in place (next week).

I'm on the £15.90 package, I was with Sky but ended up ditching them because of increasing prices.

I signed up to PO broadband back in January as I thought £15.90 was a fair price to pay and 20% cheaper than Sky, then I read the reviews and was quite concerned this changeover would be a disaster.

I must say the complete swapover from sky to PO has gone like clockwork. PO broadband gave me the date of the switch, on the date sky went dead around 15:00, so I connected the Post Office router, internet light was green but no internet :-(, I rang customer services, a Scottish guy at PO looked into the sign-up and said everything's fine and going through and that it will be live at midnight at the latest The most terrible Internet service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Slow speeds. Random disconnects. As soon as one device is steaming Netflix / Youtube etc, you have extremely slow speeds on other devices. Wifi randomly shuts off. Weak signal when more than 2 metres away from router. What an absolute disaster.
YouTube freezings all the time in the middle of the watch.

Chosen this broadband due to cheap monthly rates. Then I looked at the reviews and was worried. But there has been no problems. I live in a small 2 bedroom house. No problems with streaming tv, phone internet, Alexa, security Camaras. And that's all I need. Would recommend. No problems

I remember years ago living in a house with Post Office internet. Constant problems of very limited speed and reliability. Now I am staying with a freund and speed-test came back at <.5mbps when it can return a result at all. Post Office cannot be bothered to spend the money needed to provide a decent service and as a result they throttle the speeds to dial-up speeds evenings and weekends. How the Post Office has been able to act like a communist apparatchik and deliver such a rubbish service for all these years amazes me. DO NOT BUY POST OFFICE INTERNET! IT IS THE 21st CENTURY AND NOT STALINIST RUSSIA YOU DONT HAVE TO BE THANKFUL JUST TO BE ABLE TO SEND AN EMAIL!

Oh how I wished I did my research before changing to Post Office provider. I have been with them a month and I can't watch catch up. I have to keep going back to my flimsy router to eventually being reconnected. I contacted customer services 3 times and spent an average 1 hour waiting for them to reply. I was asked to download some WIFI analyser to check which channel I should be on. When i said i wanted to cancel, they said I couldn't as it says in the terms and conditions that they cannot guarantee WIFI. What? This is what I am paying for.

Never thought I would have such severe internet issues from a big brand name as the Post Office. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Having used a majority of broadband providers I have never had so many problems than I am currently experiencing with the Post Office, with download speeds ranging between 0.5Mb/s - 3Mb/s and nowhere near the 6-11Mb/s stated in the welcome pack.
Post Office will NOT take responsibility for any download speed issues and will put the blame at your doorstep. They even suggested that I forget about the WiFi and just use the Ethernet cable!!...
I was also told I would have to replace the BT junction box and would have to pay for that myself, even though it wasn't even faulty.

Yes, the Post Office offers a competitive price point but the download speeds are very, very slow as is the customer service.

AVOID THE POST OFFICE FOR YOUR BROADBAND AND PREVENT FUTURE ANNOYANCE AND DISAPPOINTMENT.

If I could give minus stars I would. My standard broadband speed is 0.5 Mbps and the contract says 11 Mbps average speed. Called technical support many times and gave up after 30mins waiting time but eventually persisted today (had to take 1hr out my working day to get through) and was greeted by a very rude and abrupt agent who said "believe me you don't want to be here". He told me the near non-existent speed was likely due to a fault with my buildings wiring. I explained it was fine with the old provider (I switched due to being out of contract and paying £44 pm for standard ADSL bb). The problem started the day I used the post office router. I am waiting on an engineer I'm told will take a week to come out. The minute I can cancel (one they fail to resolve the issue within 28 days) I will.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - read reviews beforehand unlike me I got caught and blinded by the seemingly cheap deal..its only cheap if you get a normal service

Oh my days! The post office broadband is the worst service I have ever had I have struggled to get a good signal for over 12 months I am currently waiting for a technician to come out after having no Internet for over a week. Each time I phoned customer services I am left on hold for over half an hour until somebody comes to the phone. They are usually rude and really don't care. The only Decent customer advisor I had was called Steven Harris. Please do not waste your money with this company. It has been so frustrating as I am disabled and rely on my Internet.

I must say the complete swapover from sky to PO has gone like clockwork. PO broadband gave me the date of the switch, on the date sky went dead around 15:00, so I connected the Post Office router, internet light was green but no internet :-(, I rang customer services, a Scottish guy at PO looked into the sign-up and said everything's fine and going through and that it will be live at midnight at the latest.

I got internet at 20:00 hrs, tested the speed which was really unstable - one test showed 1.2 Mbps then the next showed 12.33, the post office sign-up tells you that the line will be up and down at first as things adjust.

Two to three days later I get around 9mbps peak, and about 12mbps at 3am in the morning. The connection has never cut off once.

I am only about 0.4 mile from BT exchange.

So, early days but I'm a happy customer, I stream catch-up / Netflix whilst my 10 year old son watches youtube and it seems to cope. I also have a ring doorbell and CCTV camera connected along with an I pad.

Speeds are slightly less than sky (about 0.5mbps less) but this isn't noticeable.

When I signed up over the phone the adviser told me to ring back in December to request another 12 month cheap deal as price would increase to £30 per month. I was pleased I was given this info as it shows they are thinking about their customers costs.

So far so good, I'm a very pleased customer.

My parents got this last year, didn't have much trouble, only issue being the router provided. I've never used stock router these internet companies provide you with as they not top quality. Always bought my own. We couldn't get more than 8mb in our area but didn't experienced any issues. Like I said never use stock routers provided as they never can handle the load of multiple devices. Have moved and trying this this year with the Post office again so finger cross it all goes well.

The worst internet provider I have encountered anywhere in the world, not to say in UK. Slow like 90s phone line speed internet with frequent disconnections and not usable even for web searching not to say work or other things. I do not recommend and avoid at any costs Post Office broadband.

Please read the low score reviews as these are the truest ones for this despicable shower of "you know what"
After only 28 days of 1Mbs-25Mbs and continuous dropped connections and lies from the PO I'm off and they let me - threatened to let them take me to court so we could argue it out there as they were taking money by false representation but they backed down. Constant lies of an engineer being booked, then after no one attending denying one had been booked. If you want dial up speed and like throwing your money away - go ahead and use these cowboys, advice for anyone else find the ceo's email address and use it. Take note they are not signed up to OFCOM Broadband guidelines - I wonder why!!!

This is the first time choosing Post Office for my broadband supplier and I wish I had seen the reviews on here before choosing them. I too have had issues with signal drop out when my wifi stops working suddenly. I consider myself to be a light user of wifi and I live alone so cannot be due to to many users in the home. Also on launch day I was left with no internet for 3 days when they switched over. Customer service is slow, expect to be waiting on the line for at least 20mins before someone answers. I will be changing providers when my year is up. I would not recommend Post Office Broadband even though they are cheap.

The most terrible Internet service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Slow speeds. Random disconnects. As soon as one device is steaming Netflix / Youtube etc, you have extremely slow speeds on other devices. Wifi randomly shuts off. Weak signal when more than 2 metres away from router. What an absolute disaster. Warning! Stay away from this pile of BS.
