Terrible customer service. Sky disconnected my phone and broadband a month before the agreed date. While admitting it was entirely their mistake, I was offered no solution or compensation for their errors. Extremely frustrating.

Assuming you never have to deal with the company, the actual broadband is average.

Absolutely rubbish broadband. First few months it was excellent but now we can’t watch our favourite programmes without interruptions. Engineer came out but had no answers. I’m planning to change once my contract ends.

    Never get Sky Broadband ever.

I've had it twice in my life in 2 separate locations and both been horrible. I'm sure I was promised at least 17mb download but don't even get 1mb.
    At least it's reliably bad.

    UP YOUR GAME SKY.
Getting Virgin when I move. Great experiences with them.

I am afraid that the broadband quoted minimum speed of 2mbs is not achievable at my location and I regularly only get less than 1mbs.

Just upgraded to fibre max, and the speed is no where near the estimated. A little bit off, fair enough, but not even close (about half the speed). Tried using the text support - quite ironic that the initial response is along the lines of 'so you can get on with your day', what they dont tell you is everytime you get passed to someone else, you have to start from scratch....if it goes into another day, you have to start from scratch.....even worse when they say they'll get back to you and dont...when you raise that they didn't get back, they say there system can see a message was sent....a message asking you to rate satisfaction is not the same as an actual response. During one of the conversations, when they found that an Xbox was connected to broadband, the adviser mentioned that downloads speeds are often restricted by Microsoft....I wasn't commenting on speed on there, so really dont see the relevance here. I'm looking to move as I'm in cooling off period soon, and would not recommend

Considering that Sky has an 11MBPS average speed in our area, we are extremely disappointed to only be getting 3.5MBPS especially in this age of technology, for a package that is "up to 24MBPS" it is suprising to see such inferior connectivity in the city. We are currently seeking alternative companies + speeds.

Just ended my 12 month contract with sky,Internet throughout has been unreliable, continual disconnections and at peak times so slow it's unusable. Have now returned to BT , personally I will never use sky again, terrible service, never resolved problems despite numerous calls to customer service.

The service of broadband is just so pathetic for the last 15 days . Using my mobile data to write this message as well. From the evening to early morning no broadband service and no connection to internet. And on top of it no customer care support available now.

My standard cabled Sky Broadband has never been impressive with regular buffering when streaming video, but since the advent of fibre optic broadband it seems to have gone even worse. Is this an attempt to shepherd us like sheep over to the more expensive fibre optic broadband packages? perhaps so. The 'service' became even more unreliable every day and sometimes off for hours every day for 2 weeks so I contacted Sky to request my mac code to change to PlusNet and was asked what offers PlusNet were quoting. I told him, and he said ok I can offer you the same deal for 12 months as PlusNet do. I said I just want a RELIABLE service so he said I will send you a free Sky Broadband Hub (worth £75) and also free delivery. He said I guarantee with the Hub you will have no more problems. I agreed "To try it" and when it arrived the service was no different. A couple of days later I received a letter from Sky reminding me that with the new Hub I now have a new 12 months contract with Sky and any cancelling of the contract will incur charges. So theres no such thing as a free Hub it comes with the need to be tied to Sky for the 12 months unless I am happy to pay for 2 providers at the same time, which at the moment is a tempting idea just to get rid of Sky Broadband. Recent testing by me of the download speed is 0.3 mbs. A long way off the 15 often quoted by Sky. I would settle for 3 mbs to be honest and I'm getting a tenth of that at the moment. The moral is beware of Sky Broadband Advisors bearing gifts. The strings attached may tie you down for 12 months. I just wanted to relay my experiences and fore-warned is fore-armed.

Huge difficulties setting up account as I had previously had a Sky account a few years ago at a different property, and they could not create a new account (or link to my old one), with my current contact details. Unfortunately all of the individuals who tried to help with this seemed incompetent at this, as it was not on their script of answers to read off to customers.

When moving property, expensive cancellation fees (around 3 months value of current Broadband and telephone subscription!). I would strongly recommend another provider in future.

I cancelled sky tv and broadband due to the excessive cost. Sky tv cancellation policy is 31 days and broadband is 14 days. I spoke to the customer service representative and explained that I wanted them both to finish at the same time, then asked the gentlemen what date will they both finish. He explained 3rd January 2019. However my sky broadband finished on 17th December. I contacted them and there's nothing they can do so am without broadband over the Christmas period. I am absolutely livid as there is no way he could of got confused, we were having a full conversation about it. I will never go back to Sky again

Terrible experience. Been trying to speak to a manager/have an issue resolved since November (it is now march)! So far no department seems able to help/to have a manager.
Used to be really good customer service/help available if needed.
The call centre bounces you from department to department (put on hold then through security questions every time). Either get told a manager will call back(which they don't) or there is no manager available and they will transfer me to a different department. Usually sales or cancellations- also with no managers.
Cancellations would be fine if I hadn't been told that if I cancel before speaking to someone they will not be able to access my account and therefore can not look into the extra money that has been (and is still being) taken monthly!
Speeds are good when it doesn't drop (which is pretty constant)
Currently been on hold this time for over half an hour.

I am a lady on my own I was away from my house for16 mths because my family were in the best place to keep me safe as `i am 86yrs old .. i did contact sky while I was away as I did not intend to be away so long but the Manager I have just spoken to will not except that any of whose calls were valid so they are going to charge me £79 a mth for all the months that nothing in the house was used. I am in shock that as quite a long time customer they will not meet me on any of this and that was that kind of manner from the last man I spoke to . I did not ask his name . I am on my own and really do not know what to do next, cannot face having to change everything never thought a company as large as Sky would do this to a customer. pamela trevaskis

Yeah, in line with other reviews here, very slow speeds (and I mean very slow - less than 1mb in the center of Edinburgh!). Added to this, very expensive and not always notified when prices increased. Currently waiting for new provider - can't come soon enough.

Just been on the phone with sky customer service and was told to buy a new router because it's not working well as what it should, it goes off from 12 midnight till around 5 in the morning and they said it was my responsibility to take care of the router..... are you joking me right now! Also to get a new router I have to pay £69. Even though paying £30 a month for the last two years means absolutely nothing to them...!! Disgusting

Wired speed, no major issues. Wireless - not good. Was on a 38mbps package and barely got 15 down at the best of times right next to the Q router and lower than 1 at peak times! Constant packet loss playing games even when wired. Customer service is poor, they seem to only want to deal via Facebook messenger (and take forever to answer) or through text messaging! Would not recommend.

It all depends on who you talk to, how smart they are, and how complicated your query is.
Since joing in Feb 2010, I've 'earnt' over £300 in goodwill for this, that and/or the other issues with broadband. I've received BB and LR FREE for the first year due to issues and LR free for 6 months due to having 4 different routers since 2011, all fautly, all sagem.

It all depends on who you talk to in sky.

Sky Wifi is not the worst I have ever seen, but it comes close to it. It is the most unreliable broadband I have ever had, where sometimes I even have to use my phones mobile data in my own home because I cannot trust the broadband to deliver. If you are considering getting it please make sure you are aware of everything you are receiving, and do not be brainwashed by their advertisements.

I moved into a new house last year so I had a new line installed by BT and I've had no issues for 12 months. Then I decided to transfer to Sky due to the promotion they were running. I had an email confirming everything was transferred earlier in the week. I was away with work so couldn't check at that time. I came back last night and connected the Sky hub to find out that I had no internet. I connected Sky only for them to say that they would need to send an engineer out to fix the issue even though there was no problem with the line last week with BT. To top it off, I was planning to work from home today which I cannot do now and have to wait another 5 days to see whether the engineer can fix the issue! a £5 gift card just doesn't seem to cut it with me! I would of been more satisfied if they had offered to pay for my petrol to travel back and forth from work today or even a days pay. Like they say the grass is not always greener!

My father rang to switch to Sky broadband and landline , he knew he needed a router with 4 connections and was told by the lady from Sky that he could have one, so he went ahead with the contract. The router arrived with one 2 connections. He rang back to be told that they don’t do 4 and he would now have to buy an extension. My father was given false information.

Generally too inconsistent to be considered acceptable. Even at off - peak times it is extraordinary how it can just completely go for about five minutes and come back. Particularly irritating if I'm trying to play a game that requires a constant connection. I won't be tolerating it much longer and I'd encourage others not to bother in the first place

Forget about them. They refuse to trouble shoot your broadband line if you cannot prove that you can make phone call from it?! I only have broadband. No phone. I can hook up my ancient modem and call me. They don't understand. They force me now to buy an analog phone so I can make 1 phone call so they can send a technician? Outrageous backwardness.

Decided to review this right after regaining broadband connection, after it has been out for the past half hour. This is not the first time it has happened, in fact it happens quite frequently. At least once a fortnight. The upload speed is okay but download is pitifully low. I run a wireless connection which is two floors above the router, and I get roughly 18Mb upload speed, but a whooping 0.5Mb upload. I really don't recommend Sky.

I have sky fibre ultra-fast - a bit of a joke as I only get 30MB/s on a good day. Being a teacher and working from home for almost a year now has been difficult. Slow speeds and unreliable - I've moved to Virgin media now. 200MB/s here I come.

Cancelled sky TV package a year last September, they offered me free broadband (line rental only) to stay with them. Just looked at bills online and they have been charging me £10 a month for sky plus, I called them and they told me that they thought I would still like to record programmes, how can I if I don't have a box?!! and in any case when you cancel TV you lose access to recordings you have made on sky plus box. They are not fit to have access to bank accounts , no different to other financial scammers!!! Beware check your bills regularly.

I'm currently paying the top rate for my broadband but feel as if I'm not getting what I'm paying for. I'm a online gamer and I get alot of speed up lag. Im told this is due to bad internet stability. When I test my connection online I get 10mb download Max but I pay for fibre. Would love to see a specialist come test my connection. Thinking of changing tbh
