I've been with sky broadband for a few years now. The connection is very slow and they lied about how fast it would be - I've put up with that. The main problems are the lack of reliability and their complete lack of care for the customer.
Every few months the router stops working - the self-heal mechanism only mends it for five minutes or so. Each time I phone them up they do a test that solves the problem for another few months. I ask them if they will replace the router and they say they will if it happens again, but they never replace the router.
The pandemic has compounded things so that now I can't phone them up now its happened again. They do not seem to have any phone people working from home - probably because that would mean they may not follow their scripts and actually be helpful. The online repair does not work and they seem to expect me to carry on paying for a servive that does not work and they will not fix.
The UK compares very badly with other countries when it comes to internet services. This is because of money-grubbing corporations such as sky who do not care about their customers. As far as I can tell most of them are like that. I am changing providers even though I am not expecting anything much better. I do not recommend sky, stay away from them.

Can't wait to leave my current houseshare as it means I can finally ditch Sky broadband.
The wifi works ok-ish if you're sat right next to the router. Otherwise intermittent (even with router boosters). During Covid it has been absolutely terrible. Thankfully I don't need it for work because if I did I'd be stuffed. Just very annoying - currently trying to watch a youtube video on 144p which is pausing every 10 seconds.
If it crashes completely prepare to have no internet for 2 weeks, and to spend hours waiting on hold with Sky 'helpline'. Like my old dial-up connection in 2001. Shockingly abysmal. But Sky are raking it in from all their various activities so don't care.

Complete garbage. Have the essential package of 14 - 20mb because although being in the town centre next to the exchange fibre isn't available. Coincidentally i only receive the guaranteed minimum of 11mb. Can barley watch a youtube video and cant play games whilst being an avid gamer. No solution given when attempting to resolve and potentially upgrade, no help at all given to point me in the right direction. Genuinely the biggest piece of **** iv'e wasted money on.

When it works it's not bad. With mine, if I'm working on the computer and another member of the house hold use the broadband, the timelag for my computer is huge. The broadband also goes off/on daily for an average of a hour, especially during a working week, so while I work from home it gets quite annoying.

Paying for a supposedly guaranteed 60Mb. Not receiving over 25Mb. 4 engineer visits later, still the same. Trying to speak to someone from Sky virtually impossible. Wifi regularly fails, meaning working from home only possible by tethering to my 4G phone...

Would give 0 stars if possible. Just the most horrible customer service I have ever seen on earth. First, I couldn't even contact them properly due to Covid-19. My point is, if you are having troubles with lack of staff, simply don't book new customers in. It took me one month and a half and 3 engineers visits to get my internet set with Sky. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SET MY BROADBAND. After every failed visit I had to wait for 2 extra weeks since they informed me they were not able to contact Open Reach, which is RIDICULOUS of course. After the third visit that didn't work, I called them again and one of the attendees simply CANCEL MY ACCOUNT without I have asked for it. Actually, the lady was offering to cancel my account, and even though I said that I'd rather had the internet fixed, she cancel even though. I only got to know with an automatic e-mail that my order had been cancelled - but ironically this lady made me a big favour. Another thing Sky does is to send you automatic e-mails/ replies that has nothing to deal with what you have just discussed on the phone - which makes it really confusing. After my account has been cancelled, I immediately change to another supplier. Although, I still not have internet due to a fault on my line and I am aware it is a complicated issue, the new supplier is able to contact Open Reach many times, explain the situation and what the engineer has told me. Also, they are able to give me priority access since it is the 5th engineer visit already and it is a issue that concerns both companies. So my only advice would be never never never choose Sky, they are simply terrible.

utter appalling. Bought a WiFi booster to try and improve the reception but no different. They promised me 53mbps but when I go on comparison sites I'm lucky to be getting 22mbps. Rang Sky and they said not to trust the comparison sites!!!!!!!! Sky claim its the speed going into the house not the WiFi reception indoors, never heard such rubbish. If I move outside, which is 6 metres away from the router, I lose all signal and thats in a direct line from the router with no obstructions. Currently got 12 months of an 18 month contract to go so can't move yet. My sister-in-law is experiencing this problem. I would avoid these like the plague. Cannot wait to move provider. I rang to complain and because I do not pay them £5 per month wifi guarantee (they already get over £100 a month out of me) they won't entertain my complaint. Utter rubbish broadband provider

again router just all over the place with speeds but had to listen to another idiot telling me that it is fine
Getting 0.6 down and 7 up on a wired connection but the router is reporting 67meg down and my slow speeds might be due to peak times lol
Fuming with the "computer say there is no problem so it must be true culture"
Switched to bt before writing this
Sky router was obviously from the toys r us closing down sale

Would give them a minus figure if i could. I am a key worker and need to teach/contact my vulnerable students but can’t as my internet is pants.
Reported 30 June and still not fixed... fuming is not the word.
Hold your held in shame sky ... don’t say you support key workers. No response to anything i have sent.

Broadband connection is stable but WiFi is totally unreliable. Every two weeks or so it degrades and the problem is you never know when it will happen. I have invested in Ethernet cables to get over this as I am tied into a contract but can not recommend this provider. Calling support is useless as they just run you through a script which gets you nowhere. Scandalous really that they get away with this

Worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Most unreliable internet, which cannot be fixed because they possess the absolute worst customer service. If you have another internet provider option, take it. I have never held so much hate in heart for another company.

the internet basically only works "normally" about 40% of the time. and by "normally" i mean at 3-ish mbs upload, aka slow. customer service is poor, when called they had no solution. internet drops out for no reason, forces me to manually connect or to manually reset it. takes you to their stupid website when you're forced to reconnect via them instead of just being a normal internet provider.

I'm supposed to be getting 60mbps-70mbps but I'm actually getting 17.8mbps. Paying the highest package for "superfast". It cuts out at least 4 times a day and takes 20 minutes to re boot. Would not reccomend to anyone.

Incredibly slow internet (literally struggle to send emails with 3mb attachments), regularly lose connection even when plugged directly into the router. Customer service then told us that this was normal and the reason it was slow must be because there are wireless devices in the house, whether they're being used or not. So, literally, their service is so bad that you would have to completely disable all your other wireless compatible devices if you want your internet to work at a regular (still slow) speed. At least according to their customer service. No solutions offered other than that, or paying a bunch more for month with no guarantee that it would improve. Avoid them. Have only used Plusnet otherwise, at my previous flat, and that was totally fine. Similar pricing, and didn't struggle to send emails.

Yeah, in line with other reviews here, very slow speeds (and I mean very slow - less than 1mb in the center of Edinburgh!). Added to this, very expensive and not always notified when prices increased. Currently waiting for new provider - can't come soon enough.

If you're thinking of going with these bunch of crooks, then do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Upgraded a few months ago to superfast or whatever they want to call it, and speeds are intermittent at best with speeds lately of under 2 mgbs at times and we live a stone's throw from the exchange!. According to their measurements I am getting 80 consistently! A pack of lies and they know it. My daughter in Manchester has got exactly the same issues after also upgrading. Dishonest and disgusting, but they don't care. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Conning and ripping everyone off for their shoddy speeds, reliability and customer service. Consistent drops in connection, lagging when gaming, or video conference calling. Speaking with their customer service is pointless (turn it off and back on again). As soon as the contract is done, I'm out. If you're in London, avoid.

The worst internet I have ever experienced. It is impossible to even just browse social media at times which and trying to play games online is again much of the same with constant ping issues and lagging all over the place makes it not worth while attempting to play.

Not going to choose this broadband again. After 6 months of contract they decided to change the price, even though the contract was for a year. Is it even legal? The speed is not so good if everyone in the household use their computers - 3 of us overall. Not convenient if working from home. Choose something else.

Awful. WiFi Cuts out all the time and with my fibre package, I only get 0.3 - 4 Mbps. Honestly terrible and wouldn't recommend. No one wants to fix it because they say its running at full speed but multiple speed tests say different. Switched from them and I'm not looking back

Bunch of thieves, had no internet from 1st of Feb 2020 until 1st of April , 5 engineers visits , hundreds of hours of customer service calls. Always promised me that I will get 8 pounds in lieu of each single day of no service as a compensation and at the end they offered 80 pounds in the air that I cant use them even to pay my stupid broadband bills . AVOID IF YOU CAN

Sky supports a joke, asked to talk to Manager and he didn't want to talk to me, i don't know why...maybe he was enjoying his cuppa tea too much. Being a husband to account holder gave me absolutelly no rights to discuss broadband at my home, where both me and my wife reside. No information i could provide to them was deemed useful and no work arounds, they were not prepared to help in any way. Lazy ......phaaaa
And they call themselves support... Support to whom customers or to themselves.

Sky has been great for us for years and we have only just started to have problems with it. I think this is because working from home is a lot more demanding but when we rang to end our contract because we where moving to Zen the person was very understanding and polite overall I would get this if you have young children through their first faze of using technology overall great!

Sky fibre max... more like own brand fibre cereal. Sky has been going downhill for years. Broadband is patchy at best and has consistent drops during congested periods. When it works, it works and we get 40mb down, but too often the internet cuts out completely or reaches download speeds below 1mbps. We have had Openreach visits 6 times now, and no matter how many times they "repair the line", "install copper into the home" "changing your microfilter" the service never improves because the throughput of customers causes too much network traffic congestion!
They may not throttle your speeds, but there is no need to throttle them if Openreach is not good enough to support network infrastructure on old lines. We are also having no ends of problems with our Sky Q box. Constant crashes and black screens of death, a Spotify app that when used crashes the entire box, channels just stop working for no apparent reason and the box needs unplugging from the wall to get it working again. Ridiculous and will be leaving soon.

Don't do a mistake like me by joining the sky. It is the worst broadband and they want to trick us. How?
When you are new to the sky and when you have time to cancel the wifi of sky they give you good and fast wifi but when you passed (31 days) the time to cancel the wifi and now you can't change to other companies or you have to pay monthly even if you are not using the wifi, then start to slow down your wifi. they make too much slow even you can,t use facebook or load a image. So don't be a next victim and use your mind.
