Very pathetic service provided for home move. They do not understand what the problem is and constantly send an engineer who says that it’s not his job to do. Customer service people also do not have any clue. One and half month completed from the time home move service has been initiated, still problem is not resolved..

Absolute garbage! Never go with sky, horrible company! Ordered broadband was given a date of 24th November for activation, this came and went with no broadband, got told 29th this also came and went with no connection, told to wait 72hrs still no connection got told to wait again for 72hrs and still no connection, rang for the 6th time they told me it’d be a week and to wait 72hrs after waiting for 30mins for the guy on the phone to get back to me while I was on hold, I told thanks but no thanks and politely told him I no longer wanted sky but this didn’t stop them from trying to offer me sky Q at a “good price” no thanks if you can give me what I wanted in broadband then why would I take another product off of you!! A month with no broadband because of these turds!!

I've been with sky for almost 5 years now with the full broadband and TV package on the basic unlimited broadband. We have had issues when we moved in with the phone line but this was a BT Openreach issue and sky were very helpful in sorting it out promptly. The service was great quality with speeds at or above the guaranteed speed, the Router performs great in the house, not so great in the back garden, that's probably the only point I could fault them on technically.

Customer service has always been great with friendly helpful people on the phone or quick on the new messaging service.

The only other point I could fault them on is the price, it may partly be because we have the full TV package which is quite pricey but worth the money.

First thing to say about Sky is that, regardless of the problems we had, their customer service was top class. Their call center was also based in the UK which is a luxury BT can't seem to afford.

However, the product itself was bad. No, scratch that - it was VERY bad. We don't get "super fast" broadband in Cumbria anyway, but as I work from home I need a reliable, usable download speed - 3 Mbps or above is usually fine for me to do what I need to do online. We had been with BT for about a year and we'd been getting between 5 and 7 Mbps so I was happy with that, but when BT came up for renewal, the price for phone plus broadband was essentially the same as the price at Sky for phone, broadband, and Sky TV, so we decided to switch.

Sky's salespeople assured me that the speed was purely determined by the infrastructure in my area - i.e. the cabling, telephone exchange, etc. and that therefore I should expect to see a similar speed after the switchover. Sky's website offered a more conservative estimate of between 2 and 6 Mbps for my postcode, but after the reassurance I was happy to proceed.

We switched from our BT router to the Sky router around 6:00pm on the date of the switch over and immediately noticed a difference in speed - it was SO much slower. It remained painfully slow all evening, even past midnight into the small hours so I don't buy this "peak times" nonsense.

We'd gone from getting 6 Mbps on BT earlier that same day to getting 0.3 Mbps from Sky in the evening - a drop of 95% of our broadband speed.

0.3 Mbps is about what we've averaged in the evenings since. The speed starts to drop around 4:30pm, and by 6:00pm it's like using dial-up. I need to be accessible for work, it's part of my work contract that I'm available to jump on and sort out any issues that arise in the evenings and Sky broadband makes it impossible for me to complete my job.

The speed falls well below even their lowest prediction. I have spoken with Sky about it, and their very nice customer service rep ran a bunch of line tests and so on to make sure everything was configured correctly. She was then straight and honest with me and told me that there's nothing they can do, and that the only way we'd be able to get back to the speed we'd been enjoying would be to switch back to BT.

So that's what we've done and our contract with Sky for phone and broadband has been cancelled. If you're looking for a basic service and don't mind using it at off-peak times (like during the day) maybe Sky broadband wouldn't be a bad option. But if you want to be able to use your internet connection in the evening or at weekends, you're really better off looking elsewhere because Sky, by their own admission, simply do not have the equipment to keep you online at anything like an acceptable speed. I'm very disappointed with Sky's product, though I am grateful for their honest customer service advice.

    Strongly not recommended.

I never, ever leave reviews. I feel I have to in this case because the service and value for money from Sky is so appalling. Speeds between 1 and 5, nothing wrong with the line, engineers visits etc etc. Luckily, I'm not contracted to them any longer so am switching - I've been with them for 10 years and realistically the service has been poor all that time. More fool me. Very very stressful when trying to work from home. They don't give a fig. Do yourself a favour genuinely, don't go with Sky.

I have regretted signing up with SKY since almost day 1. I have had continuous problems with broadband with line dropping off and slow speed. And yet Sky keep on saying that they can see from their systems. Recently I had problems for a whole week with the internet going on/off in 5 min intervals.
It suddenly seems to be fine now but I received no follow up call from Sky. I have no idea what they have done anything to fix it because they are not even admitting it was a problem from their side.

As for compensation, they have offered £5!

Never ever will I go with Sky again.

Worst service in the UK, complete disergard for customers, incompetent engineers. It seems that in the year 2021 this company has no other excuse but "the pandemic" for the total loss of service caused by their fauly exchange. How many engineers do you need to fix the cabling at the exchange? Well... aprently not enough to identify the problem for a minimum of 10 days... at least according to sky...
Don't go anywhere near this provider or you'll find out the hard way how terrible they are, just as I did.

My experience with Sky and their broadband has been somewhat mixed, but mostly negative after being with them for around a year at this point. When it works it's actually pretty decent, I can keep a good connection to stuff like servers and hosts, and downloading -- while obviously not that fast -- is usually not bad either. And it is an unlimited service, so there's no real limit to what you can do outside of really intensive tasks that go past the provided bandwidth.

My biggest complaint however is the reliability of it all. The above statement is irrelevant most of the time, as I am constantly hit with huge spikes in lag or latency when playing games or streaming a basic video, and even worse the broadband tends to disconnect entirely which results in loss of connection and is incredibly frustrating to experience. I wouldn't mind this so much if it happened maybe once or twice a day, but I suspect that it happens dozens of times per day and makes me a bit afraid to do something over the Internet in case it does happen.

I have used customer service a few times and am likely going to start looking at perhaps switching providers if my experience with Sky does not improve, but even when officials come directly to my house it doesn't end up being very useful. I've had my router replaced once which has done virtually nothing to fix any of the connection problems, and an analyst of some sorts came and went without giving any insight or anything that could help me become a bit more reassured. To give credit where credit is due though, the manual service is certainly there, but how useful it is will vary from person-to-person.

In short, I am overall quite dissatisfied with the reliability of the service and would not recommend getting Sky broadband on that front, unless you only need very light use of the Internet (such as browsing text and pictures, or looking at e-mails). Everything else is sort of in the middle, not amazing but it has some merit to it.

Supposed to get Sky Broadband yesterday. Turns out through phoning today that 'the system' has bungled the order. (This despite an employee I spoke to yesterday falsely saying the hub was due to be delivered, which turns out never to have been the case.)

Apparently now be SIX DAYS to just cancel the bungled order (!!), and then at least TWO-THREE WEEKS for a new order and installation to take place, which no guarantees that it won't take even longer.

Completely regret making the decision to choose Sky Broadband. An utter shambles and will have an immeasurable effect on my employment (I work from home and rely on broadband) as well as on our personal lives.

I just would suggest to beware of this broadband. Maybe if you dont have any problem it's fine (for me it was 1.5yr) but after it was nightmare to deal with them. Phone calls with advisers or managers for several hours and without any result. very disappointing.

Been with sky for a number of years and always thought they were good value as they gave me big discounts on my packages. But lately broadband slowed to a crawl, today 0.5 mhz download and of course it is my fault because I use catchup or tv in stby. Only using my pc gave up in the end cancelled gone with virgin full package although Have to pay extra. ( they advertise up to 17mhz and then on my sky page say I should get 1 to 4 mhz because I am 1.4 miles from exchange) so i am lucky to get 1 MHZ lots of well told lies

To summarize in one word - BAD! Internet rarely works, customer service non existent - in rare times they actually grace their customers with answering the phone, they will pass you like a hot potato over and over without resolving the issue. Time wasters. My suggestion - stay away from Sky!

I have been with sky ever since i moved out of my parents 12 years ago and most of the time i have had an acceptable service. as far the sky+ service you cant fault it after all its just watching tv most companies cant get this wrong. broadband however leaves you feeling like you've just been ripped off most of the time. the majority of the time i have had normal adsl and this was always terrible where ever I lived (even at one point next door to an exchange) maxing out at about 5mb/s connection speed so about 500kb actual download speeds for the promised "upto 20mbs" they claim which im assuming you only get if you hardwire your computer into the exchange itself or something. moving on i now have fibre unlimited 40mb which is not too bad even though the hub they give you is no where near capable of this speed and the wireless is the worst ever. all in all id say if you want a mediocre service that just about does what it says sometimes then sky is for you. otherwise id go with virgin even though they throttle speeds you still get 10x more than you would with sky on a good day. thats my 2 pence. thanks lol

Cancelled sky TV package a year last September, they offered me free broadband (line rental only) to stay with them. Just looked at bills online and they have been charging me £10 a month for sky plus, I called them and they told me that they thought I would still like to record programmes, how can I if I don't have a box?!! and in any case when you cancel TV you lose access to recordings you have made on sky plus box. They are not fit to have access to bank accounts , no different to other financial scammers!!! Beware check your bills regularly.

I really wish I could give SKY ZERO for everything. I will break down all the areas on here.
Overall Satisfaction 0…why! I could cry right now. For the last 2 weeks i have had connectivity of up to 2hrs per day. From last evening till now 12.29pm nothing works. No connection at all. I have missed my favourite tv programmes, can’t access my business emails, i have lost a lot of business in the past during Covid time due to loss of connectivity. I have made several calls, once they came out changed wiring …sorry don’t know what its called. TBH it was just as good as doing nothing. That was last year October, this year I have made more than 20calls, some not answered. They send me a booster months ago, didn’t change anything. When I called was told its a wrong one and the right one was going to be send by next day delivery. This was 2months ago, guess what…still waiting! I had one of the customer service man tell me to go to office to use broadband if I can’t get it in my house! I was gobsmacked. I am paying for a service and expect to receive that service. I am considering OMBUDSMAN right now as I have had more than 6yrs of

Changed from bt infinity to sky broadband . Was told it was going to be 1-4 MB for the first month and then it would be upgraded to super fast fiber at 38 MB . 4 months later and we still have the same Internet as we started with . The internet speed isn't even between the 1-4 MB that was stated . It has been on average 0.7 MB , which is ridiculous . Would not recommend , cancelling the broadband consisted of around 6 different phone numbers being given to us to call and on average 15-20 minutes of being on hold . Terrible service all round .

Promised 40mbs before signing up, I would be lucky if I get half of that. Maximum I have seen is 24Mbs a day or two at the start, been nowhere near that since. They say they never slow you down anytime of day, that’s because they never speed you up to begin with. What they say you’ll get in your package, you can half it, that would give you a realistic download speed.
Phoned customer service to complain and was told, the speed to the router was indeed 40Mbs, and they didn’t say your wireless devices would receive that download speed. I was told where to check it under maintenance/ wireless settings on the Sky site.
It does say 40Mbs on the web page, but it’s just a typed number, they could type any number in there, it doesn’t fluctuate up or down, it’s not interactive, it’s just typed text, static words and numbers, very disappointing with SKY.
Have a friend on Vodaphone and he was promised 40Mbs and he has shown me on his phone (a wireless device connected to his router) that indeed his download speeds are 40Mbs to a connected phone and his never slows down anytime of the day.
Customer Services has a pile of rubbish to say to their customers, as excuses for their, half a promised service. After that reception, I can’t believe anything they tell me.

Be wary of switching to Sky if you want a seamless transfer from your existing broadband provider. My existing broadband was switched off this morning but the Sky hub has still not been delivered yet. On speaking to Sky they tell me it will be another 3 days before the router will be delivered and there’s nothing more they can do. So if you rely on having uninterrupted broadband for work or personal use then you may need to consider other options than Sky.

Their e-mail service via Yahoo is rubbish. Every function is exceedingly slow to perform, and when contacted all Sky can do is tell you to change Browser. But the fault is obviously with Yahoo, as most of our problems started with an "upgrade" they carried out last month. If you want to deal with disinterested low-IQ customer service "advisors" speaking in pidgin English and residing in a far-away continent, using a FAQ cribsheet chalked onto a piece of wood or chalkboard, then Sky is for you !

If i could give the 0 stars I would. I am paying for 30mb/s and getting under 1 even with a ethernet cable from the router they said they will fix it but nothing has happened and we cant upgrade companies till the contract runs out which my mum has upgraded. Overall they are awful and a displeasure to have

Further to my last feedback, Sky are still unable to confirm when my hub / router will be delivered. My previous BT connection was switched off last Monday so I currently have no broadband, no phone connection and my mobile signal is practically nonexistent. I work from home with both mine and my partners businesses relying on an internet connection. At the moment I cannot work so Sky’s incompetence is costing us hundreds of pound in lost income.
If you of thinking of moving to Sky as your internet provider then please learn from my experience. I regret the day I made this decision and Sky do not give a damn.

    Utter rubbish.

Took ages to be set up and running. WiFi had a poor range and kept cutting out, kept having to restart the router.

Moved house, asked for Sky to move with us. They took 2 weeks to connect - which failed, then told me they need to cancel it which would take 10 days, and another 2 weeks to restart my order.

I told them I work from home and NEED internet. They had nothing to say.

I cancelled it entirely and went with Virgin who connected me within 72 hours.

On my 5th week from moving house, Sky email me with a bill and tell me my broadband is up and running. Even though I cancelled it. They then emailed me and told me they sent a cancellation email by mistake - I didn't receive a cancellation email.

I then went on holiday - Sky said my phone would be fine to work abroad. It wasn't. Not for 48 hours.

Upon my return home, my account still has active broadband and a bill to pay. I've had to get in touch about 7 times in the last 48 hours to try and get to the bottom of this, being transferred all over the place to different people, explaining everything over and over again. Getting nowhere.

Avoid. Utterly useless. Poor service. Terrible customer support. Rubbish WiFi. Slow, useless, pointless. Go with Virgin instead.

Zero overall stars if we could. Our home broadband cuts out almost daily at certain times of day. We were sold a monthly bill of I think £33 per month...we NEVER received a bill that low...recent bill was over £56!!! Told on month ONE increases had already happened!

Rude call center staff who laugh at you down the phone.

So glad we're out of contract finally, what a horrible experience being with Sky Broadband was.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews...but I'm sorry to say this one is well deserved.

DO NOT TRUST SKY. What a dishonest, rude company. Once adding their hidden costs more expensive than most. Promised a start date then changed to "sometime in about two weeks" when I asked why I didn't have a service. Vile staff. Cancelled Sky and now very happy with new provider.

Every aspect of my sky broadband is sub standard. We live in a small mid terrace but struggle to get any signal upstairs. The speeds are so slow we cannot even stream a programme on tv, constantly interrupted by buffering. When opening web pages on both the pc and smartphone, we have to wait noticeably for them to load up, some more complex pages don’t load at all.
Spoke to customer services for around 45 minutes, told you get what you pay for and there is no solution to my problem.
Please don’t use sky broadband it isn’t fit for purpose.
