MY YEAR OF HELL WITH SKY.
First I will say sky was ok at one time. But not now. When you join them there will insure your broadband it very good for the first 30 days, as you have the right to cancel in that time, but there don`t want that. After that your problems will start, speed will start being reduce, etc.my problem was I have to turn it all off at the main`s just get on broadband to open any pages, ive watch it going on and of all year, trying to get on youtube a nightmare. And the customer service, is diabolical, there will never admit that its skys problem, there get you to do stupid things, try to blame your PC,try all the time to say it`s not sky fault, you are getting ex amount of broadband speed down the line, etc, etc, sky are only responsible to send to the main socket, etc, shall say no more. But leave with this, YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.CHEAP IS NOT THE BEST.im going with BT fibre in 2 days time, got a good deal, and if that is no better after the year im turning it all OFF.

I went with sky broadband as it says super fast speed. But it is absolutely poor. I'm really disappointed. Very slow. Some days I don't get any signal. Extremely poor service.

The inter net connection drops out every 15 mins and has done for the past 10 days. I need a good connection to work from home and this issue is now causing me a real problem. It has never been great with frequent drop outs but now it is just completley unfit for purpose. Customer service help is dreadful.

My father rang to switch to Sky broadband and landline , he knew he needed a router with 4 connections and was told by the lady from Sky that he could have one, so he went ahead with the contract. The router arrived with one 2 connections. He rang back to be told that they don’t do 4 and he would now have to buy an extension. My father was given false information.

Well were do you start with this company, personaly it should be shut down.well my experience so far, when it works its ok,(that's when it works)most times its hit & miss,im forever having to turn it off at the mains to get an internet, and when you phone customer services, which are a complete joke, you try to explain what is happening with the broadband, first there say you are getting ex amount down the line to the Maine SOCKET,(which according to them is all there need to do to take your money)hard luck if its not coming into your home, then the next bit is blaming everything else except sky, well for 7 months now ive watched the broadband going off on off on,just last night had internet on (and it turned itself off & on 3 times, but if I phone customer services, that is not happening, realy, realy BAD customer services, sorry to say LIEING,come naturaly to them.and im sorry to say mosy other IP providers are the same.SKY used to be ok at one time,BUT I WOULD SAY DONT TOUCH THEM PEOPLE.

    The Hub 2 specifications:
    Single band 802.11n (NOT 802.11ac)
    2.4GHz (NOT dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz)
Ethernet 100Mbps ports (NO Gigabit Ethernet 1000Mbps ports)
    (NO USB connection)
    (NO IPv6 Support)
The Hub 2 is left standing by its rivals at the newer wireless standards with BT, EE and Virgin’s routers more than twice as fast using 802.11n 5GHz, I guess that says it all, I hope this helps, Do not get SKY.

Absolutely terrible! Would not recommend to anyone, especially families with teenagers as they're never off the internet. The speed is shocking, and when phoning to ask for help they seem to defend their company instead of trying to help. Useless.

I wish I could give zero stars. Wifi connection and speed is so poor you cant even watch a youtube video never mind any streaming service like netflix. Tried connecting with an ethernet -no better. Phoned sky "speeds are fine on our end" "try changing channel" "make sure theres nothing in the way of the box" . Never again using sky for internet. Its entirely possible dial up was faster.

Been a Sky customer for over 12yrs and always found the service to be pretty good, well that was until I started getting problems with my broadband. The connection has been dropping for 2 months and I've been on the phone so many times to their "Technical Team" to try and get the problem resolved but I'd just be as well banging my head off a wall as I'm getting no where with them. They keep telling me the drops are due to my wifi connection even though I get the same drops running a ping tests from their router which rules out the wifi. One of their team who's name is Simon suggested I upgrade to fibre to fix the problem. I told him how about fixing the service I'm already paying for!!!! Anyway long story short, after 2 months of getting no where and 3 routers later I've finally given up and moved to plusnet as I can't stand dealing with idiots who haven't got a clue how to fix a service they offer. Looks like I'm not the only one frustrated with Sky broadband as it seems to be a common theme throught out these types of forums.

This is the WORST broadband I have ever had the pleasure of using in my entire life. I have a current download speed of 0.60 Mbps when sky say that they provide 8, ha good one sky! My neighbour who has the exact same package with Virgin has a download speed of 40 Mbps, that is what good internet speed is.
Also we have consulted sky on the issue and all they had to say for themselves was that they had known about the issue and had not made ANY attempt to fix THEIR problem.
So for anyone else who is thinking about getting sky just simply don't, it's the worst thing ever to grace this world with its presents, just dreadful!

Constant failure for the router to connect to Internet, customer services will always blame you and expect you to pay when it's their mistakes, advertised speed has never once been reached, id be lucky to get 12mbps down and 0.3mbps up. Over all do not go for this broadband. I'd recommend anything bar them as they fail to keep a decent connection. Also sales team has lied on several occasions about fibre coming here some point last year and that it wouldn't be any longer than August yet here we are in the end of May without any fibre.

If you are looking for a connection that allows you to watch a 2 minutes video in 10 minutes sky is the connection to be with, not only do I have the filter added on to sky but the booster aswell, I have to say sky connection is really bad, it has been problem after problem after problem, it is a struggle to keep one tablet online with little as 2 bars of connection

Moved to a new home Nov 2019 and was talked into keeping superfast BB at £33 a month. Their advertising was very hard at an average of 59 mbs and still is...AVERAGE!! An engineer told me on his 3rd visit I could only ever get a max of 22 mbs , and that was only if the rest of the street was offline!! My average was around 10, but when I questioned this for a rebate, they said they only had guaranteed 9.2. So, paying for an average speed of 59 mbs at peak times, getting 21mbs maximum, but 10 average, and because it is more than the 9.2 they guaranteed, nothing they can/will do. Advertising almost 60, guaranteeing less than 10. Shizen. They did refund me as expected when lines were down. but stonewalled regarding the above. I have since adjusted my SKY subs from £133 to £62 a month. Vote with your ££££. FGS Check what you can get into your house before signing up to pretend s[eed as they will use their !i told you so! card and rip you right off as long as they can get away with it.

Well, we changed from BT to Sky a week or so ago. BT were awful but this has still been a mistake because the actual service from Sky is worse.

The average download and upload rates we are getting from sky are around 0.6MBPS. With BT we were getting around twice that and that is what Sky say we should be getting.

Not only that but the router doesn't cover half the house, not a problem with the BT router.

I've been onto Sky and they asked me to move the router to the main BT socket, which does improve the download ( to a whopping 1Mbps!) but as this socket is located at one end of the house in a wardrobe the router's coverage is limited to a bedroom and a landing! For 5 years we have always used the centrally located socket and it was never a problem until now.

Big mistake moving to Sky and we'll be moving on as soon as we can.

I have been a sky customer for nearly ten years now!

I write this as I am due for a renewal soon looking for a better deal, like I always do every 12 months.

The fact is I cant fault SKY! I came over to them from a small boutique ISP (great service but way too expensive) on regular broadband in 2007 and to be honest I cant fault them.

Yes Ive had a few issues here and there (when they went live with their fibre package) but their customer service has always been very good and they are always willing to have a deal every year.

No they are not the cheapest but the service I get in my family home with three teenagers murdering the bandwidth day and night with online gaming and social media / video streaming is very stable and fast.

I admit their wireless routers leave a lot to be desired but I only use the SKY Q hub for the hard wired connection to a Netgear Orbi mesh networking system, which delivers near full speed wifi everywhere, something the supplied routers just cant do.

Anyway thats my experience, i'm sure others have had good ones too, you just don't hear about them.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. If you don't want to have a lots of headache please avoid this company. When Icontracted sky for the first needed to wait 2 weeks to have broad band and talk to be settled, sky told engineering doesn't need to come it was a self installation, 3 days after due date still have no Internet and talk and I found sky settled landline in a wrong flat. I contacted sky and was told me that I have to cancel and place a new order and that what I did, and needed to wait more two weeks to install, yesterday I received a text from sky telling me to stay at home because engineering is supost to come, so I stayed at home all day waiting and 6pm I received a text from sky telling me that I've to arrange another date because engineering couldn't access the property. I called sky after waiting 33min in a queue somebody told that I need to wait more 5 or 6 days to have my installation done, when I started to complain about all this mess the sky attendant just desconected my call. After a month I still no have broadband and landline. Please listen my advise and run from sky.

I have recently changed from Bt fiber
    Because of dropping out issues
Contacted sky as they are my TV provider and all you see is them advertising how good there board band is.
So contacted them and informed them what boardband I had with BT and ask them for a price
They come back with a better price so I went with them on day one of change over I could no longer stream sky to my bed room and the boardband kept crashing.
Contacted sky and the informed me that I just had sky boardband not sky fibre so I requested that I needed the fibre then they informed me that I
would have to pay £20 more a month and a nice £50 activation fee
I reluctantly done this they switched it over yesterday and I have no Internet at all they are sending a engineer today to look into it it has cost me nearly £50 in call fees to call there service centre
If it isn't resolved today I will be taking my business eleswhere
I would advise people reading this do not got to sky boardband

I am very disappointed with my sky service and the customer services. We have moved property and we have had no phone line and no WiFi for over a month we have the most basic package as me and my partner are on.benefits due to my partner being disabled and we are getting billed £82.00 for 2 months television. They are not helping us they are just saying that's that basically. We have spend nearly 8 hours on the phone to sky being passed from person to person and nobody knowing how they can help. They want money off people for nothing. Sky can't believe how awful this last month has been due to sky making our lives very stressful.

Been with Sky since August 2020. Ever since have had recurring problems of connection dropping, wifi cutting out completely for a day, max speeds of maybe 8 to 10 mbs during peak times.

I've even had the peculiar problem of next door neighbours Sky Hub crossing over with ours causing their devices to connect to our network, slowing purs completely. One new router later, 2 planned engineer visits that never happened and many hours with customer services, our broadband is still a pile of refuse.

Yet when complaining, nothing os wrong on Sky's end and it MUST be our router, despite the neighbours having problems too. The staff are also abysmal. I had one guy sass me because I actually knew what I was talking about and had already tried everything possible before calling them.

As soon as this contract term is up, we'll be switching.

Worst signal EVER. I would absolutely not recommend Sky to anyone. We literally have to sit on top of the router or within 5 meter radius if we want any wifi connection at all and even then it's slow and often disconnects. Absolutely shocking that such a reputable company could allow this after a very apparent dissatisfied collection of customers. Hate, hate, hate it!

Simply the worst customer service in the world. There was a problem with my connection Nov 20; it was all to do with open reach, but I had no wi fi. I was promised would be fixed by Xmas. It wasn’t! In the end I left Sky as they could not provide my address with wi fi; but they still keep billing me. I have phoned numerous times, numerous promises to sort but they still haven’t. Keep getting e mails and bills for a service I don’t have.
Avoid like it’s the plague, mixed with HIV and covid.

Very DISAPPOINTED with SKY, rip off, all they want is to take your money. Apparently the contracted ended 9 months ago no one got in touch n they have been taking £70 a month from my mum when the initial contract was £30. I spoke to the customer service guy he had no answers for my question apart from you are not getting no refund. Pure Robbery, slow broadband on top of that. ADVISE your friends and family to stay away from them, it's not worth the hassle.

I strongly wish I could give no stars to this horrendous broadband provider...if it an even be called that. I live in a student house and other than the room the router is in, we do not get any signal in any other room. They say this is not their fault, but the house's fault and the way the house was built. They could send us a booster in the post to enhance the signal, however, they point blank refuse to do that as that is an 'accessory'. Never ever go with this broadband provider it is absolutely shocking and you will regret it for the whole time that you have it. Please please please go with another company.

Never voluntarily use Sky broadband. Definitely never pay for it. Customer service is useless, connection is intermittent at its blindingly best performance. If you do ever find yourself with the misfortune to have to try to rely on sky broadband, make your way to the nearest macdonalds. Youll be better off with a coffee and the free wifi there, as your sky broadband will cut in and out with no warning, leaving you extremely frustrated and wondering why you ever got rid of your first dial-up connection.

Absolutely usesless. Been a customer since December. Broadband connection drops every single day. Phone sky every day to try and get resolved they refuse me and engineer. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and work full time but the phone call takes at the very least an hour each time. They then expect me to take apart the router and the phone line. Absolutely ridiculous. I pay £25 per month for just broadband. And it's the biggest waste of £25 I've ever known.

I never knew customer experience could go from bad to worst. Just one month into taking out a contract with SKY, I have experienced the worst customer service ever. Ranging from miss selling, miss information, bad customer service .....the list goes on.

When I signed up for my broadband with sky (Sky Fibre Max), i was promised I would get from 70 - 80mb speed. This wasn't the case, as i was only getting less than 30mb speed. After several calls to Sky technical service, technical advisers confirmed that there was a problem and that they will send a BT engineer to resolve the issue. BT engineer came as promised, ran all his test but said the speed in my flat had been capped at 60mb by sky and that I would need to speak to sky to uncap it. Called Sky again this time was put through to the so-called Sky fibre optic specialist team after running multiple tests said they were going to send another BT engineer as the previous BT engineer sent didn't do his job properly. Another appointment was booked for a BT engineer to come out. The second BT engineer who came out repeated exactly what the first engineer said. Called Sky again, this time they acknowledged that they couldn't provide the 70 - 80 MB speed and that they can only provide up to 60mb. Was then put through to complaint department who agreed to reduce my monthly bill as Sky is unable to honour their agreement. Up to date discount promised has not been applied.....

Thought issue with my broadband would be the last of me calling Sky but that wasn't the case. After waiting for over one month and taking a day off work for a sky engineer to fix my Sky TV, the Sky engineer never turned up. Called Sky to confirm when the Sky engineer would be arriving only to be informed that sky cancelled the appointment. the reason for cancellation unknown - something to do with a computer glitch. After spending several hours on phone, the customer service adviser promised to add a credit to my account for the mess up and would send a message to sky back office to get me a sooner appointment as the next appointment they can offer me from their end would be July end. Also promised to call be back to confirmed everything has been resolved.

I joined Sky 30th May 2017, and I have called Sky customer service over 20 times logging over 7 hours call time. Been promised calls backs from all advisers I have spoken to all claiming to take ownership but never do I receive a callback. As it stands, i have three to four open complaint ( See Reference number: 822119293, 821589876, 822119293) which are unresolved.

Discount Promised on bill still not applied
Credit Promised for Sky engineer not showing up still not applied

Sky customer service advisers are quick to get you off the phone. They tell you what you want to hear but when you call back and speak to a different adviser, you get to know what the previous adviser have said to you is all lies

Is so troubling that a company like Sky can treat its customers like this and get away with it. Am short of words. The problem is no one at Sky are willing to help. Every time I ask to speak with a manager or the complaint team, the advisers refuse to put me through - all they say is they deal with complaints but they end up doing nothing promising calls backs which they never honour.
