Avoid this company like the plague.

They pretty much charged me for a service I didn't receive and when I questioned them for a refund they told me that it was "tough luck".

It's come to light that Sky reel you in with good offers then try to rob you in any way they can once they have you.

I am fighting a loosing battle with stubborn employees refusing to help me.

I hope when Murdoch buys his pies with my money he doesn't choke. - Don't trust Sky.

Have been with Sky BB now for about 12 months, generally happy with it. I was with Sky before, went over to Plusnet, but then decided to try Sky again. As I say, I'm on the standard "unlimited" broadband package, supposed to be getting 17mb connection, Sky's speed tests tell me I'm gettin 14, others tell me I'm getting 11! Have just upgraded to Fibre unlimited, due to go live on 12th Jan. Fingers crossed

I have had sky broadband for 6 months and frankly this is the worst broadband ever exists in the UK. The worst thing about this broadband line is that the Sky Self Heal happen tens of times per day, at 'its' peak it happen twice every 5 minutes until half an hour gone by, and usually it happen every 45 or 60 minutes. Ive tried to find the solution to solve that self heal in the internet and have read tons of complaints about this sky broadband service and they all say 'unsolved' and all of the users finally quit sky for their own good. If u think of setting up sky broadband, stop before u regret it, get another service of ur choice that is worth ur money. And dont try to read all 5 stars comment down below, they are sky employees trying to take back reputation, kinda marketing themselves

Awful. Absolutely terrible service, drops out all the time, sky q doesnt work properly and engineers seem unable to fix, customer care unable to help. I pay over 80 a month for a premium service which is incompetent, incapable, just downright disappointing. Please dont make my Mistake. Ive spent hours, literally on the phone, on hold, meeting engineers and all to no avail. Now theyve cancelled a much needed appointment and sent me a text!! Unbelievably dire service. Beyond me, its so poor.

Considering that Sky has an 11MBPS average speed in our area, we are extremely disappointed to only be getting 3.5MBPS especially in this age of technology, for a package that is "up to 24MBPS" it is suprising to see such inferior connectivity in the city. We are currently seeking alternative companies + speeds.

    Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Miscalculated our go live date 3 times and had to wait 3 weeks for a connection as there wasn't an updated line in the building (a regular problem with sky). Had to cancel online work and interviews because we weren't notified until the evening of the go live day. Promised us a refund of £8 a day for every day without broadband and then charged us for installation and first months wifi (£40 should have been £22 or 0) and have put extra charges on our next bill for changing our package which has not occurred in anyway. Massively regret going with them and should have gone with Now Broadband or stuck with Post Office. Adverts saying 'super reliable' are complete rubbish. Can foresee further issues arising in future will probably have to switch providers.

Sky truly is the worst internet experience I have ever had.. I’ve been using the internet since dial up and sky broadband is more inconsistent. If you want to watch Netflix or even YouTube then please do not choose sky.. I have honestly decided to wash my dishes instead of waiting for the bare minimum. It honestly is that bad

I honestly got better broadband service in 1999. Sky broadband has been the single worst provider I have ever endured. Any company that removes Google reviews should be a company everyone should avoid.

Sky broadband is the worst provider I have ever had! Please choose a different provider. BT is my business provider and I have never had an issue with them.

It's ****. That's all. Never buy Sky, BT or Virgin Media are much better and they still get you sky cinema and basically all tv channels. I was promised more than 50 mb/s everywhere around the house with multiple devices connected wireless, but just for the 3 of us at home we all get below 10. Ping is good however, the packet loss is insane and as a gamer is very hard. When we used to have Virgin we would get more than 50 constantly all around the house, however, Sky doesn't even reach some rooms and our house isn't even big, it isn't even 2 floors. I will admit that in my village not much can be done, but if Virgin can do it, then so should Sky, but they don't. I think my best Christmas present this year would be going back to Virgin Media.

This is the worst broadband I have ever had. An absolutely abysmal service. It is down more than it is working. Down as many times as past days, for hours and hours at a time. Numerous attempts at the self-help - nothing works. Impossible to call as all the lines charge at an extortionate rate and the last call to sky cost us over £25. The chat helpline thing seems to be constantly busy and "in a queue waiting". Resorted to twitter, but with no helpful response there either. Not a service worth paying for in any respect.

Waste of money, the evening throttles the speed to 1mb which renders it unusable.

"We don't throttle" says sky, pack of lies if you ask me. 9pm on the dot it's useless from then on.

My standard cabled Sky Broadband has never been impressive with regular buffering when streaming video, but since the advent of fibre optic broadband it seems to have gone even worse. Is this an attempt to shepherd us like sheep over to the more expensive fibre optic broadband packages? perhaps so. The 'service' became even more unreliable every day and sometimes off for hours every day for 2 weeks so I contacted Sky to request my mac code to change to PlusNet and was asked what offers PlusNet were quoting. I told him, and he said ok I can offer you the same deal for 12 months as PlusNet do. I said I just want a RELIABLE service so he said I will send you a free Sky Broadband Hub (worth £75) and also free delivery. He said I guarantee with the Hub you will have no more problems. I agreed "To try it" and when it arrived the service was no different. A couple of days later I received a letter from Sky reminding me that with the new Hub I now have a new 12 months contract with Sky and any cancelling of the contract will incur charges. So theres no such thing as a free Hub it comes with the need to be tied to Sky for the 12 months unless I am happy to pay for 2 providers at the same time, which at the moment is a tempting idea just to get rid of Sky Broadband. Recent testing by me of the download speed is 0.3 mbs. A long way off the 15 often quoted by Sky. I would settle for 3 mbs to be honest and I'm getting a tenth of that at the moment. The moral is beware of Sky Broadband Advisors bearing gifts. The strings attached may tie you down for 12 months. I just wanted to relay my experiences and fore-warned is fore-armed.

Fast when it works, annoying when it doesn't. Customer service is an utter joke - one that isn't funny. Long waits, horrible distorted music that hurts your ears, useless service when you finally do get through.
It's pointless sharing your info with them - they'll ask you the same questions over and over anyway. If you have more than one brain cell and know what the problem with your connection is anyway you're better off committing suicide rather than watch these inept morons visit you three times and ignore what you're telling them.
1.3 billion pounds profit a year, and they can't get the simplest things right. Avoid like the plague, no matter how cheap you think they are.

Absolutely awful, save yourself a LOT of aggro and go elsewhere. Sky decided to cancel my phone line when I moved provider which means a) I have to pay £130 to have a new line put in, and b) it has been a difficult and time consuming job to sort it out. Have had a phone line for 30 years and never encountered this before and it seems quite malicious on Sky's behalf, for no good reason, I was never rude or abusive towards them. In hindsight I would not have moved to Sky and won't ever go back.

I have been with Sky for 7 years for Broadband and phone only so I pay a little extra for not having Sky TV. Initially speed was good at around 14 Mbps after it had settled which is better than what BT said I could get at the time. As time has gone on speed has dropped, normally these days if I check I get around 11.35 Mbps but today it is showing at 7.35 Mbps, this sort of drop would suggest this is temporary due to maintenance. Over the 7 years I've been with Sky the cost has slowly gone up, initially I was paying £22.00 per month it is now around £40.00. Up time is typically good and maintenance is typically done around midnight if it means a loss of service which minimises inconvenience. I can not really rate customer service accurately as I have never needed to phone them so please ignore my rating for customer service. I am looking to change to Optic Fibre but I will not stay with Sky because of their cost as much as anything but who to go with is the question, all providers seem to get their fair share of bad reviews.

Website offers very limited information of the services you actually own. No way to improve your internet without upgrading to their insanely expensive Superfast. And their customer service is extremely bad. Would not recommend this to anyone. Can get it cheaper and better from most other companies.

Easily the worst broadband provider. We called to complain and when they answered they said they would improve it and make it cheaper. It was good for the month period that we could cancel the contract in but straight after turned to ****. I currently cannot load a YouTube video in my room, nor can I use any social media app. It is pathetic. We was promised speeds of minimum 30mbs and right next to the router we get 6. It’s terrible. Definitely not worth it.

Sky messed up our activation, so we've been without broadband for the last few days. Had to wait in queue for 30 mins yesterday, 10 minutes into it they cut me off and I had redial and start again. The guy I spoke to (Stephen) admitted it was Sky's fault and promised to call me back today, but he never did. So I called them back and got through to someone in India who was quite irritating but eventually transferred me to the UK. I ended up speaking to 3 different departments, having to repeat my security details and the problem each time. Eventually Helen said there was some kind of mis-match between systems which might be the cause, but she wasn't totally sure. I was told to wait another 24 hours. I asked for a refund of my activation fee (£20) and first month's line rental (~£16). She agreed to refund the activation fee, but not the line rental! I would not recommend Sky unless you want to be stuck without broadband, and spend hours one the phone being passed from person to person in their call centre. Avoid Sky at all costs!!!

Been with sky almost a decade and have got to the point feeling immense hate for the company.
Decided to take their deal in November 2022 of Superfast for 28 pounds per month for 18 months and 34 per month after and not even a year in I'm now paying 42 per month.
How that is possible or even legal is beyond me.
Customer service (like they have any) is awful.
Website just takes you round in circles.
You can DM them on Facebook apparently because that is so professional.
Good luck getting an engineer out.
As for the broadband itself. It's laughable.
One day I can download an Xbox game at 40mbs the next day 1mbs or sometimes less.
I have to reset the router almost daily.
So if you want zero rewards for loyalty, zero customer service and completely unreliable broadband and stress every damn day All while being over charged to almost double what you sign up for choose these idiots.

I have had Sky broadband for about four years now, and it had been okay, with just the odd issue of the service dropping off, but I changed to Sky fibre unlimited three months ago (foolishly signing a new 18 month contract) and it has been appalling ever since. The broadband loses connection at least once a day, sometimes for up to two hours, yet whenever I call them it miraculously starts working again and they can find no fault.
I am an engineer with a bit of a clue as to how it work, and understand that if the fault is not there when they check it that it is hard to find, but I find it very odd that it often starts working again while I am talking to one of their support team on the phone. It's almost as if they have the ability to switch it on and off to slow my usage down!
I would definitely not recommend Sky for broadband or TV (although Sky TV is great it's way too expensive), and will be going to BT when the contract is up.

I ordered full fibre in December and expressly asked for my current landline number to swooped over to sky and was promised it would defiantly be done. The fibre optical cable was installed to my house and left as a big loop against the front house wall then after 5 hours of calls to sky on Christmas Eve and many attempts to sort my order out which they kept cancelling I was told my old number cannot be brought over to sky after that promise originally. I’m now left with the prospect of having to pay the old service provider for a service to keep my phone number active and then pay again to sky for another service to improve on my broadband speed . Sky has not offered anywhere near a reasonable discount to compensate my situation and future extra costs . Just to clarify they have started the job , made promises and subjected me to having to spend multiple hours trying to sort things out and still unresolved. DO NOT USE SKY !!!
