Overall I'm happy with Sky, anytime I've had issues the customer service has been awesome! Some people moan about unscrewing master socket... Get over it! every company does it!
On the whole it's a stable service, occasional drop out and speed is ok. Customer service has always been brilliant and the one time I had issues it was fixed fast.

I've been with Sky for ~8 years. Unlike many people here my connection has been always very reliable and as fast as the cable/attenuation/physics permitted.
However, one which always bothered me big time with them is that after 18 months they would always try to move you to the "no-discount" rate which nobody anywhere charges as it's ~30% more expensive. Even as a "veteran/platinum" customer I'm treated like an fresh imbecile while new customers are get cheaper deals they my current contract.
I've always been able to negotiate "discounts" to keep my bills pretty much identical year-on-years. But this year is the first time Sky isn't will to negotiate. Which means 30% increase. Which means Bye Bye!!!

I've had no problems with the BB service, although it doesn't work in our back room (a long way from the router). My only gripe is that they put up the prices (the latest hike means I'm looking around for another provider) at least twice a year. There's no reason for it other than greed. Calling them to threaten to leave usually works in getting them to reduce their price, especially when new customers are being offered a better deal.

Sky broadband raising prices after 6 months of contract by £4 per month! It’s not nearly 20% up! Just like that. Will never sign up with them again. They do whatever they want!

I have been having some issues with my broadband for months now. On previous call was promised a call back which did not happen. My broadband now worse than ever. Phoned again and spoke with a very nice man being SCA58. He called back went promised, done all the checks and I'm nit having an engineer out in just 2 days. He has restored my faith on sky and such a pleasure to speak to and very thorough with alk that he done. This man certainly deserves recognition, and other advisers need to learn from him. Thankyou so much for all your help, you was an absaloute star.

I've been with Sky for three years and moved home with them once. In three years I had a few service drops but in general the service has been good and the speed is alright. They are available on the phone. I am happy I've had no issues with it working from home since March.

First of all, I'm not that far from my local exchange cabinet, so I get 41 MB every single time I test my line. However, the customer service side of things isn't great, in fact it's utterly disgusting to say the least. When you have a problem with your bill (mine in this case) and you explain to them in detail exactly what the issue is, they start to over-talk me like I'm some kid who doesn't get what they're trying to tell me, it's like school all over again but with such a rude and insecure attitude inflicted upon me for no reason whatsoever, just because I mentioned I couldn't afford the TV package I was paying for during the duration of my contract, which apparently was £127 to get out of it, which I was willing to pay until they mentioned they'd wave off (in a rude tone) the termination charge on the grounds that I'd be no longer entitled to Sky TV services ever again except for Broadband and Phone, which is absurd, because I was willing to pay the exit fee anyway. Bare in mind, all this was said and done in the "Customer Priority department" which apparently deals with "Abusive customers". All's I can say is, avoid if you're looking for exceptional customer service, for example Plusnet.

Absolutely appalled by the customer service. Been with the company 18-19 years had all the stuff and pay over the odds to have it. One month where we have asked for help and they have not even tried to help. Do not recommend.

When it works its ok but dont think for one moment they will put them selfs out when it dont work, been with them for nearly 2 years now but will be leaving them, had to engerners out over it just going off, keep getting the same old **** told to me snd they think you can just keep having time off work for them to come round and do nothing, dont have sky for your internet if you want internet, thay will just charge you for something that dont work and they cant get to work.

I used to work in the industry and it is my opinion that sky offer the best value to customer service ratio. However after coming from BT to Sky, I have to say the SKY wifi router is terrible, wasn't getting signal in some spots of the house and the router doesn't seem to have smart spliting for its channels. I rectified this by buying a tp link router with all the bells and whistles, using the sky router as modem only (turning off the WiFi) and using tp link for the better WiFi and now I'm happy again.

Awful customer service. About 2 months into a 12 month contract they increased my monthly charges by £5. When I said I wanted to cancel they wouldn't let me cancel my TV subscription (I had signed up to a package deal). Took a further three weeks and over an hour on the phone to cancel everything.

To top it off as well, the on demand service on the sky box only works about 50% of the time with sky internet.

We have moved home and it took 3 weeks to provision another line but that might have been BT rather than Sky. When the arrived the broadband did not work. According to the customer service, it was due to the fault on the line. Customer service said that the engineer will come within 5 working days. 45 minutes later, the engineer had fixed the line!!! :-) WELL DONE!!!

I've had problems, with installation within house and exterior lines. Not sure if any of it is Sky's fault, but they have got OpenReach out for the exterior problems and an engineer for my interior issue and I wouldn't fault their customer service. Expensive and they penalise you for not taking their TV so couldn't recommend.

Broadband really struggles when two or more people are using apps like YouTube while connected to wi-fi which you wouldn’t expect when paying 50+ pound for internet, wouldn’t recommend unless living alone.

Reliable connection and grap* speed that's pretty much the deal, internet speed is slow in general in UK but the problem is this companies are greedy, they overload the broadband by having to many customers, you may ask yourself why internet speed is 10 times slower in weekends.

Speed is a sixth of what other providers are claiming on fibre. Our Fibre connection is provided via BT's network. The speed is really poor at present for some reason of late the fibre speed rarely gets above 20mb

To be honest I'm a bit confused by some of the reviews here. We have had problems with our broadband connection and in fact the problem still exists but some of the comments about customer service are surprising to say the least. When I have phoned the advisers there have been nothing but very patient and courteous. We had a long standing problem and as a result we were given six months free! so that can't be that bad can it?

Sky unfortunately put the prices up far to much and far to many times.. last time 20% yes folks 20% phoned up after 16 years loyalty service…
Didn’t want to know so changed to another provider for almost £10 less with !!! Very happy now good night sky… sadly won’t be ever going back due to them putting prices up far to much and far to often..
Ps… keep changing as being loyal is expensive !!!

Been with Sky for over 11 years and when my contract was ending I contacted then to get a new deal. They weren't prepared to match the deals new customers could get on identical packages, via third party comparison sites, with Sky let alone match the lower costs of other providers with similar packages. No way to treat a loyal customer.

Odd to be so dissatisfied with so many high markings, but Sky are so expensive, why shouldn't their broadband speed be good?

I am disappointed with Sky because they are massively more expensive than (say) BT Vision, and only after I had cancelled my contract did they offer a discount. In fact, before I left, they wanted me to pay £199 to replace a two year old box that had stopped working!

Not only that, but despite having two weeks left to run (two weeks I have paid for I might add) Sky have crippled my broadband speed, and disabled most of the functionality of my Sky+ box.

Nice touch Sky, especially after six years 'together'!

    Au revoir.

When its connected its all good, the problem is when I'm facetiming or skyping the internet goes dumb. It refuses to work while facetiming and skyping and it goes super slow. At times it stops working and requires to be reset. I love it when it works, I can stream movies and what not. Just wish it could be better at multitasking if you know what i mean?

Have been with Sky for several years now, but moved away as they were no longer competative for me. Have just received a letter several months later saying I owe them money and if not settled in 10 days they will refer to a collection agency. NO money was owed. How many people would have just of paid the £59.00? A Sky scam or what?!

Broadband speed has slowed to 3.3Mb today. It has been slow for a week now. Usually we can achieve 5.5Mb which is about as good as it gets in this area. Standard phone line speed is reckoned at 5.5Mb so we are the slowest around. Not happy. I shall be contacting Sky to see if they are slowing us down

I was originally with o2 but they shipped all their broadband customers to sky with a deal to keep the same broadband costs for a few years which they did adhere to
It is now £10 for broadband unlimited which is pretty good value and the broadband network is usually fine
My only gripe is that I have to pay an extra £5 for not having sky talk which brings my bill to £15
We are on BT light user and sky cannot beat the BT light user cost for line rental, so I am paying them £5 a month for nothing
I've complained to them and even contacted watchdog who did a feature on it but nothing has changed

Switching was easy, no other contact with customer service. Speed good except afternoons when it often stops. Same as previous 2 ISPs.
Watching video on YouTube stutters due to buffering even when speed test shows 30+ mbs and PC is on ethernet to router.
