HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED
I gave it a one star because there is no option to give less than one star. After we called customer service it helped for about one hour and after the speed changed back to its normal slow speed.Looks like SKY lies to people and makes it look like they are helping but actually they do nothing. Its a good way for making money but I dont think it will last very long.We will definately change SKY for a honest internet provider. We will 100% find something a LOT BETTER.

Be wary of switching to Sky if you want a seamless transfer from your existing broadband provider. My existing broadband was switched off this morning but the Sky hub has still not been delivered yet. On speaking to Sky they tell me it will be another 3 days before the router will be delivered and there’s nothing more they can do. So if you rely on having uninterrupted broadband for work or personal use then you may need to consider other options than Sky.

Whenever we switched from virgin, sky has been sucking huge ones. Speed - i don't understand how in 2021 we are allowed to have 60Mbps. Provided router - useless piece of electronic waste. Constant broadband drops, throttles and just poor connectivity. Do yourself a favour and pass on Sky.

I was originally with o2 but they shipped all their broadband customers to sky with a deal to keep the same broadband costs for a few years which they did adhere to
It is now £10 for broadband unlimited which is pretty good value and the broadband network is usually fine
My only gripe is that I have to pay an extra £5 for not having sky talk which brings my bill to £15
We are on BT light user and sky cannot beat the BT light user cost for line rental, so I am paying them £5 a month for nothing
I've complained to them and even contacted watchdog who did a feature on it but nothing has changed

An absolutely horrendous service. This company tell lies even about their own lies. We were due for connection on 23rd September, engineer turned up walked in, glanced at telephone point and walked out. He went outside, ripped the Virgin media box off the wall, leaving all the wires on the floor and drove off. 9 phone calls and 20 hours later I get a text to say engineer left due to their being Covid in my home. Where the hell did he dream that up from? I made a complaint, was literally laughed at and was belittled by the rude arrogant customer service staff. We have had 6 promises of telephone call backs, nothing has happened. I told them I will get a solicitor involved they said I am not able to do that. I even told them that my solicitor has said he will sue for breach of contract they laughed and said "your solicitor is wrong".
Virgin want £165 plus vat to fix the broken box and as Sky say the engineer was from BT open reach I contacted them directly. Open reach say they have no record of any engineer being sent to my home at all so I told Sky this. They said "sir you are not allowed to contact the open reach team, you can only communicate with Sky".
Guess what Sky, you are wrong and I will never ever use your services again. What's the next excuse? Fuel shortage so engineer can't get there!! Shove your broadband and TV I am done
Avoid this company at all costs. Absolutely ridiculous

I have been with Sky many years and recently switched to Sky Q. The new routers they supply are absolute garbage, unreliable, constantly dropping connections and variable speed.
I have had two now and both failed within weeks - in the end I switched back to the old router I have had for over 4 years now. If you are a new customer and don't have that option it must be a nightmare. They really need to sort the router quality out.

Just cancelled a 10+ year sky subscription been a fully paid customer, they've switched off all my recordings and purchased films.... judging by the reviews on here there are more dissatisfied clients than happy ones. Let's hope this profiteering, zero customer service company is finally heading to its demise.

Absolutely dreadful broadband. I changed to Sky being promised a decent download speed. Not only did this not happen but the wifi regularly goes off and downloading a film takes several hours. Total misery, be warned.

Our sky broadband via an Open Reach connection is not worth having and its reliability is very poor. We have been advised for the last 2 years that infinity would be available to our address. Sky or BT will not give us even a future date for when it will be available.

Have nothing to do with these shysters. I left Sky because of escalating costs every month. I called to cancel but a couple of months later I find I'm still being billed for services not used and after all of the equipment was returned. Absolutely disgusted. Will not return to Sky!!!!!

The service was good for 1 year. The problem started when we moved the house. The speed of broadband not as I expected, it disconnects roughly every few minutes. The broadband is very slow I can't even watch videos online properly. After calling sky for last 2 months they repeatedly tell me to take my own phone socket to pieces but have not offered other help or visit. Customer service is very bad and unprofessional. They promise for call back/engineer visit but nothing happens. Finally I have given up and decided to move on with another provider.

I had to write this review as I am still fuming.
I have had issues with my broadband since last year, they told me it was an external fault and an engineer would be sent to fix this outside of the property. I have bee phoning sky all month (January 2016) it seem to be un- resolvable. Every time you phone they tell you to trouble shoot, even if you just called an hour ago?
Eventually the phone line went down which was a major problem because I look after my uncle who is 92 and not in the best of health so he has an emergency pendant which he wears around his neck; we also have a box connected to the phone line.
I was not even aware the phone line was cut off until the police showed up at my door after midnight, thinking there was a problem. Sky told me that they have a 24 hour broadband number which seems to close at 9.30pm???
I can't wait for my contract to expire. I will be seeking legal action as they are useless. Different representatives give you different answers to the same question. Sky don't even know what Sky offer. Not one person asked me if there was an emergency box in the house and the last representative said they wouldn't ask. All they are talking about is loss of service not concerned that they could have cost life.
I do understand that things go wrong but I don't understand that things have been going wrong for over a month, after more than 10 phone calls and the phone has to be completely disconnected before they solve the problem.
A Sky representative called me today (29/01/2016), he got me so upset with his ignorant attitude I just had to write the review. I didn't like it so I wouldn't like any one else to experience it either. However, the choice is entirely yours.
Sky will soon be a thing of the past because they really are outdated.

It's 2.30 am and I can't even get a signal to go onto my kindle. It's such utter rubbish. It's so bad my son has his own broadband with virgin as he was getting lagged out everytime he was playing a game. So no my system isn't overloaded as I'm the only one using it or watching it buffering now for 40 mins. I got an upgrade to sky E but they never gave me a new broadband box after saying it was obsolete . So I have the same crap jox that made me seek an upgrade to begin with and I pay 103. 00 per month for that and I'm 8n a normal package without box office or Disney. I'm about to rip it out and through it out the window. Such a rubbish service. Back to free view and go with EE for my mobile. Certainly a hell of a lot cheaper.

The level of customer service is just appalling. First - on the website you actually get the impression you can manage or cancel package on line. This is not true. The best you will get on line is yet another agent (talking to number 4 already) who will do everything to get you worse deal. I was actually offerred broadband for nearly 40 for the package that on the same day was for 25 (that already says it all). My number 4 agent is currently arguing with me whether or not I will get satisfactory service with nowtv. I have spend last 1hr 45 minutes asking lady every 10 mins (basically after each of valuable points she made) to just cancel and I am on my wits end.
To add to this when you phone them they will first take you through all automated security questions to tell you after 10 mins that they, in fact are unavailable.
The lady said she will actually process my cancellation but of course there are other offers they currently have. Which mobile network I am with, she is asking. 1 hour 50 mins at the moment

Just the fact that in my 24 years of existence this is the first review I have given should speak volume. Getting sky as your internet provider is a life sentence. Worst provider ever. I feel like I’m back in 2005 when my internet is so slow I can’t even load my Netflix.

HOORAY! I'm finally free of Sky! I've nothing good to say about Sky other than I'm so glad I'm out of Contract with them and I ain't EVER going back! They provide an abysmal service which they keep increasing charges for. Anyone who is thinking of subscribing to Sky, do yourself a favour and DON'T! You'll thank me for it. Happy Days it's all over.

After being 15 months a sky customer paying for my landline and broadband connection, after having changed 6 filters and having complained a dozen times for a slow or no internet connection, sky asked me to pay £65 for an engineer visit or free engineer visit but with a new 12 month contract! The worse blackmail I have had during my 57 years of life. What is next?

All icwanted was a quick switch from By to Sky , I was connected after 10 days, very inconvenient, stressful, engineer came out .... I only wanted/needed unlimited sky broadband, as it would/should have been £57.50 a month but I now pay £70-81. With fibre unlimited, t.Only myself uses it so no need for this, am very dissatisfied with how they have treated myself. I have tested the speed a couple of times and its not fast as my By broadband

My experience with Sky has been very good and I am pleased that I switched. I use a basic mobile phone - I am not a fan of mobile phones and what they can do to our brains, so I use it sparingly. I have unlimited landline phone calls instead which works well. I use my router with my computers.
Sky customer service is excellent. Their staff are nice. I had a dreadful time with TalkTalk who gaslighted me throughout my contract so it was a relief to switch to a company that provided me instantly with what I requested, without arguing and lying about a product that did not work and was not fit for purpose. I am referring to the Huawei router that TalkTalk uses which is unreliable rubbish that should have never been sold to customers and I am disgusted and appalled that TalkTalk get away with conning the public on a daily basis with the mind control tactics their time wasting customer service use on customers.
Sky broadband is fast and smooth and I am grateful to have a router that does the job.
My broadband has been consistently good, if it occasionally stops it comes back on again quickly. YouTube live streaming gets delays but not a major issue. I can watch YouTube videos without seeing the service dropping every 3 minutes (time and time again) as it did with TalkTalk and some days there was no service at all. The fast broadband router is great for those with arthritis or problems holding objects, it is light and flat and easy to handle. The gentleman I spoke to at Broadband.co.uk was efficient and very helpful.

Upgraded to Sky Fibre because the normal sky is honestly terrible. Upgraded and all was good for a while but now it is dreadful. Can't do anything and it is impossible to play online games because it constantly disconnects. Don't waste your money, go to BT.

Omg
Horrendous service,
I rang to request their broadband costings and had asked for earliest date for booking to be held for myself.
I asked them not to go ahead with the purchase, advising the employee To call me the following day as I’d confirm if I would want sky to do the service or not.
He went through ts and cs on the first call.
He booked the service and sent out the equipment straight away.
He didn’t tell me that it would happen that way or I’d have declined to speak in the first place.
They then found me at fault claiming I’d agreed to get the service on the first call. Only covering their asses.
So unhelpful and critical of me when I was incorrect informed.
DON’T go to sky they are dishonest, disgusting
Thanks for hearing me out.
Hopefully they change with these feelings yet again expressed.

Been with Sky for a year on the back of their £18.99 broadband deals. Router arrived promptly, engineer arrived and installed the line as and when it was advised he would. No issues there.
The router's a bit weak, not giving great signal, and it does drop out a few times here and there but on the whole it's been relatively reliable, if not the fastest - average speeds are around the 5-6mbps mark.
Of course now I want to switch to a cheaper deal I'll have to do battle with the customer service team to actually cancel my contract instead of fobbing me off with trying to get me to stay and pay through the nose for bang-average broadband - can't wait.

The quality of the broadband has definitely deteriorated over the two years I've been with Sky.
My biggest bugbear with them, though, is their customer service. The majority of it seems to be automated these days, and they go out of their way to make changing your package confusing and difficult. I was sent a letter recently telling me I was being moved to a new package - not at my request - that would cost me £4/month extra. I tried to change it back online - completely unclear how to do so, and unclear whether the change is being effected. I did it over the phone, on an automated service, and thankfully held on to the bitter end of the very long, pointless automated message (about 4 mins of waffle) - because, the voice told me, if you didn't hang on and press 1 at the end, the change wouldn't be effected!
Con artists. Check everything really carefully to make sure they don't rip you off through the back door.

This is very bad broadband service anyone can have.
The customer services is really terrible.
They are only interested when they are selling their services and products.
Once you sign the contract they don’t care their customers and their products is working or not.
When you complain instead of helping you they are trying to sell more things.
So you’re always paying them without getting any services.
