The service that I have had from sky has been absolutely horrendous. The broadband is extreamly slow! Virgin is much better. When the router breaks, which it will as I have had 3, the call waiting time is minimum 40 mins each time and then someone on the other end hangs up! Would never in a million years recomemd Sky to my worst enemy! Horrific expirinace! Never again!

In Sep 2015 I changed from BT to SKy Broadband. after 2 months I started experiencing loss of service and every 3 days my connection was lost and I had to contact them to fix the problem. After all these months the problem kept going and the only thing they did was to give 2 vouchers of 5 pounds. Last week (4/5/16) they decided to send a technician to see what is actually going on and the guy changed the router, the wall socket and did some wiring. My broadband so far is more stable but when I called to request for compensation for all these months experiencing the problem they said that they do not give credit on the account and they will send me again a voucher which, according to them, costs actually more than the cost of my loss of service. this company sounds like a joke

Quite possibly the worst broadband provider in the uk. Slow speeds, unreliable connection and the cancellation process is a joke. Everyone knows that any cancellation must be in writing; with Sky you have to write to them and then PHONE them afterwards to cancel.
    Stay well away!

Absolute **** told that we can have upwards of 50 devices connected to the hub without slow down and it's cutting off half of the 16 devices we have on granted we use a lot of bandwidth but we told them that we have a lot of devices connected and need more bandwidth when we signed up so now we have 7 or 8 devices that just can't access the internet and to top it off the ones that can might aswell not be connected because out of the 30 mbs we are paying for we get a consistent 400 KBS

DON’T BE REELED IN BY SKY’s DEALS WITH BROADBAND AND TV. Their customer service is long and when they send out an engineer the likely hood of them not coming is very high. Disconnects are extremely common and the router is appauling. Do not recommend. Go for a smaller ISP who will look after you And does not assume that your wallet is a pit of endless money. Worst ISP ever...

Very poor quality.. always disconnecting. You just cannot watch any videos smoothly even on YouTube. You can only expect a normal speed of network in the afternoon for around 2 hours during weekdays. If you want to use internet at night or weekends you need to be very patient and wait wait wait. The worst broadband experience I have ever had.

For the pst 18 months myself and my partner have complained about broadband connectivity, We loose the ability to record programmes, loose recordings thyat we thought were recording ok and unable to download movies and the whole package is awful. We are fobbed off each time and although engineers come out the problem reoccurs. For £75 pcm the service is awful and not worth the money. I am going to look at alternative packages as the service is lousy. Totally p ssed off with Sky!!!!!

Sky does not really care about the inconvenience that the customer face. I was promised to have a active connection on Aug 15 but it was delayed for 2.5 months and finally I was told that they can’t provide me a connection. They earlier promised that they will give me a compensation for the delayed number of days. But when the order was cancelled I was given nothing facing troubles to have a broadband connection for 2.5 months and still going

Moved house almost a month ago to a family members house who also had Sky. My mother called up to inform them, told to call back a week later in order to get our services switched on. My family member in the mean time had hers switched over 3 days into the move. Mother called up and spoke to a customer service advisor who's level of English was worse than a 1 yeat old told us he'll get it switched on in a week. The week passes no internet on, I call them up and get told that we had apparently signed up for Fibre which will take 4 weeks to be turned on. I get a confirmed switch date for 5th October. Call up and promised it will be on for 6. 7pm no internet call back and spend 2 hours on the phone to be told Open Reach missed the appointment and no one contact me to inform me. Now they say they cannot do anything until next week. I would seriously consider staying away. Calling up Virgin Media first thing tomorrow.

The Wi-Fi is constantly buffering and then the streams are alway freezing I’ve got fibre and that’s not cheap so we want the fastest. However from the same week we have had problems and called customer support but the problem still not fixed. This service is paid for every month and does not cross reference correct.

    Many calls to them!

I got an engineer appointment to fix my problem, no one came and then the customer service told me that the speed is maximum which not reached 6.

I have cancelled the contract with them.

Worst company to use, I paid for the Ultrafast broadband service for 1.5yrs, during the first year, the internet connection was horrible, kept on coming in and out, only had a fast connection at night. I mostly work during the day so this did not affect me, however, from the 24th of December 2023 until the new year, they had an outage in the area which they did not bother to fix and left me without internet connection for 1 week during the holiday period, when I asked how long it would take, I was told they don’t know. Horrible customer service, each representative had no clue how to solve the issue. Never use sky, waste of money, I was paying £38 a month for 150Mb/s, and before them I was using Virgin for £28 a month for 250Mb/s, I will never use this company again, waste of service and horrible customer service.

Just been on the phone with sky customer service and was told to buy a new router because it's not working well as what it should, it goes off from 12 midnight till around 5 in the morning and they said it was my responsibility to take care of the router..... are you joking me right now! Also to get a new router I have to pay £69. Even though paying £30 a month for the last two years means absolutely nothing to them...!! Disgusting

If you have an elderly or vulnerable friend or family member who subscribe to SKY Broadband, phone or TV, please read the following, and check their subscription costs, as SKY have totally abused an 83-year-old lady with high pressure selling to engorge their profits.

Facts about SKY telesales team, they cold-called her and sold her the following:

    • Superfast fibre broadband, when she has no smart phone, laptop or any internet device.
    • An expensive bouquet of extra TV channels when she only watches terrestrial Freeview TV.
    • A SKY Q box when she only has a 720 resolution TV: Total Package £77 per month

    More facts about SKY:

    • They charge twice as much as their own subsidiary, NOW TV, for the same service.
    • When you try to leave, they lie, saying you cannot keep your phone number.
    • They offer better deals to complete strangers on U-Switch than they do to loyal customers.
    • They refuse to answer letters.
    • They will not provide copy invoices, or even their own address for serving legal papers.
    • They have no policy to protect the elderly or vulnerable.

My advice would be to avoid this company, they are about as relevant as Blockbuster, and have no moral compass when it comes to exploiting the vulnerable.

Seriously 2016 and its rubbish! Not really the speed although it's not great but it's doesn't always work. Regularly it's not picking up. I feel unless you pay over the top fees for fibre optic (although ppl have said that's rubbish too) you get the broadband speed and reliability as the 1990s dial up connection. Disappointed with Sky as a whole and I'm leaving soon as my contract is up.

We have been sky customers for 10 years, when we changed house in February we got it a letter with information that the new tenant has ordered internet from another provider So our services will be canceled from April 1. After 3 months, it turned out that they only cancelled the internet, not the TV and we have to pay money for these 3 months.

Avoid this company like the plague.

They pretty much charged me for a service I didn't receive and when I questioned them for a refund they told me that it was "tough luck".

It's come to light that Sky reel you in with good offers then try to rob you in any way they can once they have you.

I am fighting a loosing battle with stubborn employees refusing to help me.

I hope when Murdoch buys his pies with my money he doesn't choke. - Don't trust Sky.

Well what can I say. I'm on day two. I've been told by the BT engineer that the line is good and should get speeds around 60 meg download and it's nice and clear. We plug in the sky router and NO device, wireless or wired, can get anything about 4.5Mb, with pings that reach anything up to 450ms. Clearly not fit for purpose I waste time on calls to customer services on day 1 to be told "Don't worry - it'll be activated overnight and should be good tomorrow". That brings us to today. No improvement on download speeds at all, cut off by customer service after numerous transfers and switched to a text system without even asking me. At present, it's looking like it's going to be headed straight to the ombudsman as missold for a full refund and very public (I'll make sure) embarassment for Sky.

I moved from Virgin to sky but I wish I just stayed with Virgin. First the agent told me yes it would definitely be activated a week from that day and that worked perfect for me. This was around the 7th November. 2.5 months later still no service. I started to call in and all I was getting was 24- 72 hours it would be activated. I was very angry and I wanted some honesty as to what was going on. I ended up speaking to a patronising manager who said I had to pretty much wait The agent assured me it would definitely be on for New Year’s Eve. They are sub contracting to BT so they have to rely on them. It’s disgraceful honestly

Wifi totally waste of time. Should get 40mbs getting 0.08 to 22.4. No signal if i move 10ft away from router. Had sky out several times Sky engineer says there's a problem with broadband signal phone sky they say its working fine no help at all. Went to Argos bought wifi adapter for £19.99 plugged in set up in 60sec can now get signal no prob. Sky just want your money not interested what happens after total waste of time.

I have had a problem with my broadband speed since 2nd January 2016. The concern was discussed with your Support team and no concern was found, therefore i was advised to have my phone line checked. I have had a Technician from BT Openreach check the line at a potencial cost of £151 even though all he did had no effect on the speed of the Broadband! I have been back in contact with Sky Technicians to explain that there as been no change in the speed of my Broadband or phone.
The issue was revisited and it was found that the speed had been set at a reduced level instead of the highest broadband speed, which i pay for. The Support Team Member assured me that any cost occured for the BT Openreach Technicians visit would be absorbed by Sky. I am very greatful for this gesture.

    Many thanks

Someone clearly isn't doing their job right with Sky Broadband, our family have been Sky Broadband customers since they started providing it, they used to be one of the top broadband providers out there, but in the recent years, it's really been lacking in reliability... It cuts off every 10-15 minutes consistently, every day. And they will straight up tell you there is nothing wrong with their service, although there's clear evidence stating otherwise within the customer reviews, almost all stating the same issue... You'd expect Sky to have a great stability in their broadband with all of the money they rake in from their customer subscriptions, they're sat on £18.75 Billion as of last year. If you ask me, at this moment in time, do not pay for Sky Broadband for any circumstance as it is too unreliable, especially if you spend a lot of your time competitive gaming, because we all know bad internet really ticks off a gamer. If you ask me, their service has become beyond a joke. But with that much money sitting in their pockets, you would honestly expect a much more reliable service. The internet speed is not my main complaint or concern, but the ability to maintain the connection just isn't there. They either need to fix their crap, or some people need to be laid off and replaced, because I've tried every single piece of advice that they've provided and yet there is still no positive result, as a matter of fact, it cut out whilst typing this review. Like... What are we customers actually paying for? All we want is for Sky to fix their damn broadband.

Thanks Sky Broadband, you're doing fantastic! <--- (At scamming the hell out of people)

The worst broadband ever I lost my internet connection at Least once a day for an hour and once a moth for several days to a week. Engineers didn't show up at agreed times customer service that made hollow promises and down right lied to me about what was agreed engineers came several hours early and then claimed that I wasn't in. Poor service I've cancels my subscription and transferred to a rilible service, will never get any off sky's services again

I would not recommend getting sky broadband. I placed my order on 20th September, it’s now 16th October and I’ve just been told I won’t get it before 3rd November. That’s 6 weeks and that’s not guaranteed. They constantly blame delays on orders and blame Openreach don’t have engineers available in my area. But yet when I enquired with talk talk and BT they can book an engineer within 10-14 days which is acceptable!

Sky and BT Openreach don't exactly make a dream partnership. Installation confirmed by lots of text messages from them, I thought wow great communication. Engineer didn't show up. Rescheduled installation date only to be emailed a past date. Advisors haven't a clue, kept transferring calls then they put you on hold for ages then hang up the phone! What a farce!!!! Shocking customer experience.
