Unfortunately I did not read the reviews on this site and now it's too late. TV service very poor. Waste of money signing up with TT. Sky def worth extra per month for quality service.

Totally useless customer service, unfortunately can't give minus stars. Simple query that should have taken 2 minutes took an hour, 3 phone calls - cut off twice. Still no further forward.

Avoid!! Worst customer service I have ever received.

Had no Internet for 5 days + and no closer to resolving the issue despite wasting almost 7 hours chasing up customer services.

Been messed around, given conflicting information, cut off when being passed between departments meaning that I have sat in the same phone queue multiple times to try and speak to someone.

Was told to wait in for an engineer, no engineer turned up, I am not confident that an appointment was ever made. After 7 hours of ringing up/using the chat feature to try to resolve the issue, nothing at all seems to have been done to actually resolve it.

Staff are unhelpful and condescending. They are not given adequate training to actually identify or resolve issues and note taking / communication withing talktalk and between talktalk and openreach appears to be non-existent.

After 5 days of having the same conversation over and over with no resolution, being messed around and told incorrect information, wasting mobile data, being unable to work from home and having to commute to work during a snowstorm, the only compensation offered was £15.75 off my next bill. Awful service. Will never use this company again.

I am a carer for man with disabilities and mental health problems. They had rang him up and got him to agree to a mobile phone contract that he didn't need as he is with Orange PAYG which suits his needs. I rang them along with himself and after an hour while sorting this out after many departments got cut off. I then decided to email them explaining about these mental health problems where he's vulnerable. They replied saying I needed 'Power of Attorney' and to get a lawyer. We then rang up again and explained the situation together with him giving me authorization to talk to them. After him being with them for 4 years they told us his address wasn't right after both of us repeating it about 6 times! Then how is it we have all these papers from you with these details on in front of us. The representative was rude so I insisted he gats his supervisor on Manager there as I didn't like his attitude..trying to start a fight with me and to get this sorted. Firstly he said they weren't.It's only when I demanded to see them that he got a manger who continued to say his address was wrong! They said they'd sort this out but we'll wait and see. Don't have much faith as he obviously doesn't exist unless there's money to be had! Apart from this we find the broadband OK here. They seriously need to work on their customer service...also not to lie about things on your bill and how it will 'be cheaper for you'...I checked the bills and it would have cost more. I also do not like being mislead into thinking their directories are free also. One person said they are completely free and the next not. We are asking for a vast improvement in customer service and honesty which should be expected.

I can honestly say that Talk Talk are the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. From contradiction on prices, speeds, billing, accounts. I could go on and on. However I have allready wasted enough of my life with these people.PLEASE DON'T even consider using them.

Talktalk have managed to lose my E-mail address in the last 5 weeks, about the time of the cyber attack. You ring them up to ask where it is, and then after they appear to fill in online forms you hear nothing, presumably sent to to your old E-mail address. They also send you details about a free upgrade to that same address, that they have lost and that they know doesn't exist. You tell them that you don't want any upgrades as you already have everything, so they offer you £10........Pathetic.
The call takers are in Mumbai, don't understand English or know what they are talking about. They are cheap because the service is cheap, try another provider instead

The worst ever! You pay for something that you never have. Then you need to keep calling them to complain and eventually they fix the issue for 1 or 2 days. then everything is back to the same rubbish! Horrible! Average internet speed (when you pay for up to 35!) is 0.8!!!

I requested a cancellation of the service since I was moving houses and they did not provide service on the new one. 2 months after I still receiving bills because they file the request cancellation 2 weeks after I requested and they have an up to 30 days disconnection delay that, of course, they exhausted. So I'm paying for 2 months of service that I have never used plus the cancellation fees.

Absolutely terrible. They spent 7 weeks sorting out a fault which left me with no phone line and limited internet. Made over 15 phone calls, over 12 hours. Useless overseas call centres. Eventually got through to the "CEO'S Office", which is just another call centre in he UK, after the fault was fixed. Very unsympathetic about the amount of my time I spent chasing the issue and that had to take time off work, for a fault which they were 100% responsible for.
Got a similar response from the 3 months previous, when the same fault occurred, but fortunately it only took them 2 weeks to fix then!
Definitely the worst customer service I have ever received.

Had Fibre Large package with TalkTalk. The fibre was great, got 71mb download speed and 19up. ALso had the plus TV package which was awful. The box had to be restarted every few days otherwise all the internetnet channels wouldn't work. The box was very clunky and slow in its interface. The website is a mess, they used to allow you to add and remove extras but then changed it forcing you to call if you wanted to remove anything meaning a lengthy wait for customer services who then tried to sell you something. Customer services stuck to a script and just awful awful conversational skills.

Been with talk talk for quite a long time now from when it was Tiscali. So frustrated recently when lost phone and broadband due to work carried out by openreach. You cannot explain to the tech staff at all they have a script and stick to it. Very disappointed with the whole experience. No common sense applied in my situation

Billing enquiry. Sent email, told will get reply within 5 days !! Tried the Chatline - three starts, three cut offs. Tried phoning, asked the same question five times and was given a speech on TV package five times. That was not my query. My love of India has now been exhausted.

TalkTalk were easy to setup with, and an engineer came in (for free) to set up the line. However, the speed we got was always on the lower end of their speed range. They said our speed would be between 7-17mbps, with a minimum of 5.8mbps. We regularly received 6-7mbps. When they raised the prices and we decided to leave for Plusnet (best offer at the time, and we could leave for free), they said we would not get a better speed, and tried to encourage us to stay if they could strike a deal. They couldn't match Plusnet, and since moving we now get on average 9-10mbps! Somewhere somebody wasn't telling the truth...so whilst they were okay, obviously they do control the line speed!

Do not ever trust these bunch of monkeys.
They will overcharge you, somehow eg.
Text you on Friday evening saying your package for tv box (?) you ordered (not) is on its way.
Hours of complaining about wrong bills etc to different Asiatic call centres and local "managers" only disappear when you you threaten them with court action and the usual ombudsman etc bodies.
They are the scum of the earth. You have been warned. I'm not like this usually and am a forgiving christian type, but this lot deliberately use foreign, distance, mis-selling agents.

Talk Talk is the worse company that I have ever been with, the internet connection is nearly inexistent and so bad that I have to switch my phone to 3G! I pay money for no reason at all and I couldn't cancel my contract unless I payed a huge sum which was very annoying. 'Lowest price broadband company' you get what you pay for as it is cheap!

One of the worst customer services department ever. We had a sky sports package paid for until 6th January 2015 at half price for £15. They charged us an extra £5 in December. When we queried this they said it was an error. They said they would sort it out. Then they cancelled the sports package without us knowing until I tried to watch a football game. Got on phone and said it was our fault. Tried ringing them. They would not Listen to us, kept trying to say we cancelled when we queried extra £5 charged by them. Waste of space, as soon as contract up we are changing, have had nothing but problems with them and they DO NOT LISTEN we you speak to them, it's always the customers fault. Worst service ever

The broadband itself works well, but to get someone to set it up for you is a nightmare. You have to wait weeks to get it set up with little or no updates and a customer service that is not particularly helpful. It's a shame to leave but I need it for my own peace of mind!

On the whole I find TalkKalk to be good value and provide a good service. Their On-line chat staff are very good, but their Customer Service staff by comparison are poor. They do not understand their product and provide incorrect information. Very disappointing performance. They let TalkTalk down.

Haven't had a single day where I haven't seen a "DNS error" when browsing webpages. All webpages will go down for around 5-10 minutes when I get this DNS issue.
Never had one problem with BT broadband. But get one every single day with talk talk. Which is always this DNS error.

Setting up the account was straight forward & simple, broadband speed & reliability has never been an issue for us. However coming to the end of our contract is when problems began to arise.
We were coming towards the end of our 12 month contract and we were moving house. I'd seen an offer advertised online which was cheaper than what we were currently paying. I rang TalkTalk to inform them that we were moving house and that I would like to be put on the deal I'd seen online once our current contract has ended and we'd moved house.

Firstly, their call centres are abroad, and several times the customer service advisors were unable to answer my questions fully and/or were unable to be clear.

First phone call - I was advised the offer I had seen was only available to new customers, so I didn't qualify. I then asked to terminate my contract when it had expired and I would be taking up a deal with Sky which was able to offer me a better price. The advisor then said he would be able to reduce the price for me, but they didn't do 12month contracts any more, only 18 month. I only wanted 12 month, and pointed out the offer they had advertised online was for a 12 month contact - so this was the first piece of incorrect information I was given. Never the less, he was unable to offer me the deal they had online or offer a package which was more competitive with the sky offer. So he informed me my account could be terminated on the 15th of October. That was fine, the conversation ended there.

After this conversation, I had a suspicion that things may have not gone through with the cancellation due to communication difficulties, so I rang back to double check.

Phone call number 2 - got through, gave information across, got cut off, couldn't get back through.

Phone call number 3 - I explained I'd rang yesterday to cancel, I wanted to double check this had gone through.
He informed me that I rang yesterday regarding a home move and that if requested to take my phone number with me. ???? I had certainly not requested anything of the sort. We don't have a house phone, I don't even know my phone number, I 100% did not ask for this. I was told he could process the cancelation from now, which would take us several days over our contract, which I wasn't please with, as I rang to cancel yesterday and this should be on the system. It is stated that calls are recorded, so would he listen back to the conversation I'd had so prove that I had asked for cancellation and not to keep my phone number. The advisor kept repeating what was on the system, which I kept repeating these notes were incorrect and a mistake had been made. All he could say was 'I'm sorry, but I can only cancel your account from today. You asked to keep your phone number' To which I replied 'There has been a mistake when making notes on your system, and I am being charged for this mistake, and you're telling me I asked for something I didn't.' All he could do was repeat himself and repeat what was on the system and not effectively respond to my comments and complaints. He at one point told me I was on a warning for being aggressive. I not once raised my voice or used inappropriate language.
Eventually he spoke to his manager who was able to cancel the account sooner. Finally, we were getting somewhere. He told me I would be billed on 2 dates and not to cancel my direct debit. I asked how much I would be billed, he was unable to tell me. I asked if I was still being billed in accordance to my current contract (to ensure I wasn't being put on a higher rate until the end) once again, he couldn't answer any of my questions in regards to this and said I would have to wait until my bill came through and ring the billing department if I had an issue.

The customer service is poor. Communication is difficult, all the advisors can do is repeat the limited information they have and read off a script.
    Not worth the effort.

For the price of £49 monthly that I pay, I get sky tv, free calls on my landline, broadband, which is slower than my last provider, but for what I want to do on the internet, it is sufficient. after I have had it 18 months, the monthly payments go up to £59 which I can't grumble at, but may change if I can get the same for the same price I pay now.

The router has become troublesome, arbitrarily slowing to less than 10% of expected speed and heating up. Only short term solution is to switch off and let the router cool down. In addition, using an IP phone requires a static IP and the provider does not allow this.

I had problems from the start. Over the phone I was asked where I wanted the router- I had said the living room where the tv box was for on demand . When the man came he put the router in the bedroom- he said this was because the phone line was here and that I would have to speak to talk- talk about this- talk talk said they would send out an engineer to put wires in as an extension. When the engineer came he said this wouldn't work and not to bother- I then got billed from talk talk for fifty pounds for the engineer call out- after a lot of complaining I got some adapters fitted for free- But I had to fight for this. When I wasn't happy with the services I attempted to terminate my contract I was told I wouldn't be charged and then was charged 120 pounds. I haven't paid it and I don't intend to pay it- WARNING DO NOT GO WITH TALK TALK- it will be your biggest mistake!

My router has been dying for a couple of years, but I kept it because it was outside warranty and TT wanted to charge me for a new one to use my contracted services (?!), anyway two days ago it finally died, and after 2 HOURS on the phone I finally sorted the problem by borrowing a friend's spare router, as TT were ZERO help. At first I was told our line had been disconnected (we're moving next weekend), then we were told there was 'a bar' on our account, then finally I got through to an English speaking non-moron who immediately told me it was the router (I knew that) and they'd send out another. By that time I'd had a rant at three different TT call-centre staff, who are (mostly) completely and utterly useless, if not outright deceitful. Looking for a new supplier from now on...

Have been with Talktalk and Tiscali for nearly 20 years and and up until 6 months ago have had excellent service. However, after renewing my contract for 18 months the service have been poor. The customer service is still good but in spite of their efforts, the problems are still there. I can't recommend the broadband

I had app booked to fix my problem with broadband. in meantime the service was back on, so I rang talk talk to say that is no more need for the energineer to come over. I have been told by lady I spoke to that I will be charged £30 for cancellation , because I am calling after 3pm. She suggested to keep this appointment as I don't have 30 pounds to pay as single mum of 2. So I have kept the app. Fallowing morning the energineer rang me 5 min before arriving. I said that all service is back on so he will have nothing to do here. He said fair enough, thank you for letting me know. I have been still charged £30 and no one seems to be kind enough in customer service to admit that I shouldn't been charge.I am really crossed and upset with talk talk. Won't recommend to anyone.

Been with TalkTalk for two years. All good, until contract period finished. Was DUMPED immediately onto a high rate plan without notice. This is how they treat loyal customers. Trying to get away from them, but they have lots of energy to pursue forward charges. Nightmare, use someone else.

TalkTalk sells a big lie right from the start. Stating you get 67MB unlimited fiber for 25£ pcm. As soon as it came online my speed was 30MB. I have contacted talktalk several (more than 3) times to complain about the fact that this company is charging me 25£ pcm and doesn't give me the promised speed. After checks that they've asked me to do, I had to book an engineer to come for a house visit. The engineer came and mounted some new sockets, but told me straight in the face "you will never get that speed that they've promised you, cause the maximum speed you can have in your area here is 40MB". Sadly because there is no Virgin Media in the area where I live I had to stick with this crappy talk talk internet. Just to mention, my speed has never been higher than 35MB (and I have more than 6 months now with them). I wouldn't recommend this company for someone who needs proper internet speeds. This is just surfing internet, if you need internet for gaming/streaming there is nothing like Virgin Media (especially with the new 350MB fiber now), too bad they're not in my area.

Customer service is absolutley terrible. All foreign call centres following a script.I suffered 2 major internet and phone issues over a period of 16 days called TalkTalk on a registered mobile to report a fault and progress chase and got charged £22.00. 20 years as a customer no refund offered and have spent many hours on a phone trying to resolve problems they are utter rubbish. Gone to BT NOW VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Contracted speed is 8Mb - and peformance is OK at >6Mb most of the time. However, most weekday evenings, speed drops, sometimes as low as 1Mb or less. Suspect Talk Talk have been greedy and oversubscribed their service. Customer services hopeless - they can never find my account, even though they installed a new line and provisioned the whole service from new. Overall service is OK, but I would prefer better speed in the evenings.
