    THE WORST PROVIDER!!!

this is the worst experience I've ever had! from the first day of setting up the service we had issue with the speed.
They are not able to give us the speed we agreed in the contract! not even half of that!!!
it's been three moths and just send us engineers every month but they are not able to resolve the problem!
their customer service is awful. they are not professional, not caring! they are just waisting your time if you call them. I feel they are waisting the time by sending engineers after engineers until our contract ends.

I STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT DO NOT GO AHEAD WITH THIS PROVIDER UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIST YOUR MONEY AND WAITS YOUR TIME!!

Talktalk throttle speeds during peak times which caused my 25mb speed to go down to as low as 0.5mb. I literally spent hours upon hours on the phone to them during which they either didn't listen, sounded bored or tried to charge me for new routers or engineer callouts.

I kept asking them if they throttle speeds and they kept either dodging the question or said no, after months of the exact same issue, there is no other logical explanation other than bandwidth throttling. The issue starts at 7pm and stays till 10.30 after which it always speeds up again. Conveniently enough their senior support staff leave at 10pm so you can't prove it whilst on the phone.

Avoid them like the plague unless you never need the internet during peak times and don't mind support staff that obviously don't want to be doing their job and are reduced to constantly reading out a script.

I've been trying to contact customer service for over a month by direct chat or by phone, each time the same answer, too busy, really bad. The technician to install my box it works, but it has to pass the cable through the window, and in front of the house, it is really not good, it was to come the following week, I am no news. Do something! One month that I cannot close my window, you are incredible!

I have been with Talk Talk for a number of years, but since all their problems with the hacking, I have had constant problems with losing connection, have spent hours on the phone trying to understand what they are asking me to do, I work full time, and it really is the last thing I feel like doing when I get home from work, it is a long story but their new email is now the last straw for me, it wont't load, it won't delete, it is pitiful, so I am leaving....can't wait!!

Customer services is not helpful in anyway and totally rubbish. She made it extremely difficult to communicate any information to her by asking the same questions again and again, often not responding at all or repeating utter nonsense back to me. It was clear she either had no idea what she was doing or that it was a trick to keep me on the line for as long as possible to eat up my credit! I was frustrated and furious as the phone call was going nowhere but around in circles which I knew would cost me a bomb. She didn't solve my simple problem whatsoever and in the end she hung up on me!! So rude, I could not believe it! NOT RECOMMENDING THIS NETWORK/

Avoid this company like the plague
The worst scammers and schemers I’ve ever come across. Horrible customer services, very difficult to end the plan, even after the 18 month contract ended a year ago. Been over billing me all this time, blame the consumer, signed me up for all sorts of extras i never authorised or used as I didn’t know about them. The worst company I’ve ever come across, shocking in 2023. I truly hope the ombudsman investigate and reigns them in or closes them down.

Talk talk, you are just providing poor service. Lie to your customer and harassing them? Problems for the last 4 month just excuses and when you are finally able to cancel without being slapped with a cancellation fee the next bomb is hitting you. Promised a 7 day cancellation after struggling for 4 month you get a cancellation of 30 days instead. You call them to get it sorted and get told that you have to wait and to call back the day after. Next thing you receive an email stating thank you for staying with talk talk. Just lies and more lies. Luckily I have all the details an witnessesbtoo so I will now take legal action against talk talk. In the meantime they are no longer able to take money out of my account as I've cancelled the directdebit poor service. Lie to your customer and harassing them? Only recommended if you want to make your life miserable! Kept me in an endless circle of chats, testing, having engineers over and phone calls for more than three months, and when I wanted to leave took me another month to get them to waive my early exit fee. Instead of short, efficient communication they repeat everything 5 times, there is a script which they are unable to change. You cannot request callbacks outside working hours, they will keep calling randomly and you better put aside at least 30 min. to book an appointment with an engineer. Three engineers visited us and could not solve our connection and speed issues and every time I tried chatting I had to give up after a couple of hours and call back the managers, not to mention the endless testing circle started again.

They made me become the worst version of myself, frustrated, rude and just sad after every chat and phone call. Customer service in England is generally bad, but this is pure hell.

Their customer service might be able to fix simple issues, but they are unable to handle complex problems. I expect fast, efficient solutions that Talk Talk is unable to deliver.

Very unreliable. I live in a rented room with other flatmates in the house. As the broadband is on our landlords name, we cant call them to complain. The internet is slow, if it rains more likely we have no internet at all. Many times it shows that im connected but i cant connect to facebook messenger. I seeiously dont understand why people are choosing this company, maybe just because it is british, but trust me, they are not. They are a money eater company, the ones who only cares about their money in theirs pocket and give you some bones to feed on like the dogs.

Rubbish service , i had better download / upload rate through wireless from neighbour (BT - via BT-FON) than i had from them . Also loads of problems with customer service . Been away from country for 3 months but i paid the full bill when i returned 109£ (around 60 was penalty)in same day i paid i got the service disconnected even that bill was paid in advance and they supposed to provide me another month of service . Then they charged me the next month with another 31£ disconnection fee clause when was not even my choice to be disconnected and i didnt had a fixed term contract either . Rubbish avoid them, TalkTalk should be the last resort .

Very disappointed with the service. Three weeks after ordering the broadband, I still have no connection.
An engineer came once, but didn't finish the job. I spent hours on the phone, trying to get another engineer, but it's useless. I really regret my decision to join TalkTalk.

Despite a good costumer service and employees who care about your issue.
    Talk Talk is very unreliable.
If you want fast internet speed, DO NOT CHOOSE TALK TALK.
I am a student, when I need the internet IS NOT WORKING.
Will change my provider very soon, but for those who dont want a headache, DO NOT CHOOSE TALK TALK as your provider.
I swear I wanted to start a riot many times just because of the quality of their service.

    Horrible and unprofessional!
In fact I did not get the broadband installed as I was waiting roughly a month for the engineer to come and tell ...that he does not know where the phone junction box is in which he has to connect main wire. After that I was informed that a "survey team" will arrive in about a week to find that phone box. And then they will contact me to arrange another visit within a week. Possibly.
It means at least a month and half to get connected. And it is in the centre of the city, and it is a property where the same line broadband was used a year ago!
Beyond all doubt I had to refuse their "service" and switch to another broadband provider who get me connected in a few days.

The customer service was awful! They failed to fill in my email address properly (just 6 letters!) even though it was spelled with NATO ABC and double checked.
The quality of the call was bad each time I phoned them - weak signal, lots of ambient sounds and background noises. It was nearly impossible to understand what they were saying. And this is a communication provider!
The lady operator, who answered my first call ever, told me lots of misleading information about the prices and services, just to push me to buy a bundle.
Finally, while I was cancelling the order they did not even tried to check the authenticity. The cancellation was made by my girlfriend, though at the time of my order was placed my voice was recorded "to ensure that noone else would access my account through phone".

Awful experience. Trying to upgrade from a G-fast account to a full fibre and they say its not possible as the system doesn’t let them. So they suggest to get a new account under a different name and email to go ahead with the package. I do this and they don’t cancel my old account. So now paying for two accounts. Soon after I call them, they say this is fraud as you can’t be two account holders but that is what they suggested and they admit its wrong. However, I still have to deal with the incompetent customer service to clear my account. Now they are putting the price up from the Full Fibre when they still have a deal out there thats cheaper and faster than mine. So I am loosing out. I can’t cancel as its a new contract and if I did cancel it would cost me £205. So now I am stuck with Talk Talk till the cancellation fee lowers, which I will then switch providers. The amount of calls I have been with them is ridiculous. Very bad customer service. Never using them again and will spread the word too all colleagues and families. Hope their business goes bankrupt. A joke of a company. The worst ever

Wait until you try to leave. Endless time on hold, pressured into retaining service and number. Even when you do eventually cancel they email you saying a third party has reinstated the service.

Foreign call handlers delayed responses and an executive officer (Tristia Harrison) who does not even respond. Total rubbish

Talk Talk call handlers seem to lack a basic understanding of the data protection act and its purpose, and none of the four I spoke to kept their promise of sending notification of cancellation by email.

To my disgust this morning I received a notification email saying we are delighted you have decided to stay with us. Ridiculous to the extreme!

Would fail to load page here and there and after refreshing it would work. It then stopped working altogether and all complaints/customer service want to do is sell me a fibre optic upgrade even when i had called to cancel and had told them i have already taken out a contract with a rival company due to their poor service.

    Awful.
Cut off before switching ISP. TalkTalk conveniently, for them, could only send an engineer before the new line (FTTP) was installed, rendering their engineer visit pointless. They won't, however, pay any compensation for the time they didn't provide a service because no engineer came.

Very Unreliable. i was told my broad band was set up and agreed deliver and installation date only to call few days later and i was told that i was declined for credit when i asked them to send me that via email they transferred me and later said it was not credit but their internal policy and when i asked for them to confirm this via an email they said it was against their data protection policy to send this to a customer - This means their internal policy (automated processing - GDPR) causes them to refuse customers and not get them a reason for this. Its like being racist. So disappointed - never email will i have anything associated with vodafone.

An awful service. Technical advice was hopeless when broadband signal kept dropping. Eventually told it would take up to 28 days to find the problem. Working from home made this totally unacceptable. I terminated my contract, changed provider and the fault was rectified in 24 hours. Now facing a substantial early termination fee which I am reluctantly pay.

    Avoid at all costs....
    Avoid at all costs....
My 18 month contract ends February 2021 and all I could ever get was a maximum of 2.1 Mbps download speed .... Upload speed 1 Mbps...

    I'm letting it ride...
Talking to the customer service team on many occasions did not go down too well.....all they do is send out engineers... (Plusnet)....and give you another router...with the promise of a speed increase....

    I could go on.....

    Trust me........
    .....Do not....

    .............DO....NOT...... Go with talktalk.

    You will regret it.

I was miss sold my contract, under the understanding that I was getting up to 11 Mbps...

Anyway I'll leave it to who ever reads this to take this as a friendly warning....

    Do not join talktalk.

No internet since Tuesday. Spoke to online advisor on Wednesday to report. Was meant to hear back today. Nothing. So got in contact again. Previous person hadn't logged properly so we're back to square one. Had to threaten to leave and kick a fuss for them to escalate this. Does not seem to be any human beings that you can actually talk to. Their chat service keeps kicking you out so you have to keep going back to square one constantly. Is therefore taking too long to solve simple problems. I want a human being that I can actually talk to over the phone. Think very carefully before using Talk talk as clearly effective customer service is not their forte.

Switched from greedy Virgin Media with next price rise. It was unbelievable the broadband price raised 350% for 7 years. TalkTalk offered the honest speed of 67Mbps for 1/3 less price plus huge top cashback deal. So I not hesitated and booked the connection with the engineer. The Engineer came in the booked time and was really polite. Did everything we asked, even moved the socket to a more convenient place for free. Now we have 2nd month of TalkTalk broadband. The router is perfect with full house coverage by WiFi. Just realise how bad was router from Virgin. Speed, a bit less, but stable and with the positive surprise the upload speed is 30% faster than was in Virgin.
Obviously as many people as more problems, just read the reviews and found this mostly negative. Definitely recommend this company, it has a big chance to become the best if follow the people feedback in other areas. Thank you.

I was lied too ~ inaccurate information

I spent 20 minutes online signing up to a 12 month contract only to be told on the order confirmation page once payment had been taken, that it was in-fact an 18 month contract instead. Fuming !!

Just a quick note about my experience with talk talk so far. Not very impressed to say the least. Moved house on the 27th August so called to move my services, and was offered an upgrade to fibre for an extra £1 something a month, great, I thought. Was told there was a 20 day cooling off period if the fibre didn't reach the 32mbps minimum. The go live date was then given of the 13th September which arrived with the 'new' router we were told we need for the faster fibre broadband, which was the exact same model as the last one. But anyway, the 13th finally arrived and as we had been without internet for over two weeks I was eager to get it going. Turned it on in the evening, nothing. So I thought, 'ok, it says it might get activated late so I will wait until tomorrow'. That didn't happen.
I'll try to keep now the long story short. Called on 14th, engineer out 15th, still not fixed. Ongoing calls with no updates during which I asked whether this was going to affect my cooking of period, to which they responded by confirming it would start until their service had started. Called on 21st and they get a bt engineer booked for 28th, tomorrow. Yesterday it started working so called up today to let them know. They did a speed test which only showed 25 Mbps and they said there could still be an issue and if it doesn't improve within 5 days, to call and book a fibre engineer.
I then asked mentioned that if it didn't improve and an engineer had to be booked, this could persist up until the cooling off period ended and would I still be able to cancel through it. This is where I was told that cooling off period started on the 27th when I took the new contract out, and that the right to cancel ended on the 16th September. Now I am struggling to see how I am able to cancel a service due to the speed not being fast enough, when I don't even have the service. Besides that, Talk Talk say that the speed can still change for up to 10 days after the go live date due to them trying to get the best speed for us.
I don't know if it is just me who thinks this is out of order, but this has all been a lot of aggravation and with the hours I have now been on the phone for, I don't think this is acceptable service. I am now waiting to see what happens next but I am that unhappy now, I needed to write on here to vent.

Customer service is utter garbage. I have been having problems for over a month, when you call you have to go through the same thing every time, keep telling them its not the line it's the router, some devices work some won't. they wanted me to dismantle my telephone socket to connect the router directly and when I refused they said they would send an engineer and I would be charged! Contract will now be cancelled!!!

I live in busy London suburb and broadband speed is abysmal. Speeds are slower than the 56kb modem I used 20 years ago! I swich the router off and back on and get a brief boost. Called their customer service lots of times and they try and help but in the end I'm still left with a crap service. Only one laptop connected directly to the router so not a WiFi issue. Avoid Talktalk!

Moved from Plusnet to TT just over a month ago, BIG MISTAKE there has been a noticeable reduction in download speed (yet to get the guaranteed minimum download speed which is a paltry 1.9Mbs). I've made the usual phone calls and written two letters so far to no effect. I can't recommend them based on my experience.

Customer service is the worst ever seen, even eclipses NTL woeful service. Speed isn’t great, BB service keeps dropping out. Phone has repeatedly been cut/blocked/restricted over the contract life most of the time for no good reason. Cannot recommend Talktalk/Tiscali as others offer better service for exactly the same money.

Absolutely clueless representatives, went travelling for 4 months and agreed with talk talk before I left to suspend my services and payments until rang them to reinstate on my return. When I got back my services are still running and as I cancelled my DD and they still tried to take payments from me my credit had gone from perfect to fair which to me is totally unacceptable. Complete and utter pile of poo of a company! Raging is an understatement!!! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
