Once my current deal expires, I'm off!!
Internet drops out randomly. E-mail access is just pot-luck, one day I get an error message, the next I log-on and get a blank screen, sometimes I can actually get to my mail!! It took me about an hour yesterday to finally get to my mails after countless attempts. Customer services are generally OK, but I'm tired of having to call them about problems.
    In short, poor.

Crap internet speed, never get to talk to an English helper, can hardly understand a word they say when I ring them for help and then get cut off. Will be switching to BT when i get the chance, no doubt I'll get charged £80 for leaving them,,, but hey,, at least I'll hopefully get a decent service... Not Happy

We have been with Talk Talk for 18 months. Download speed of less than 1. Despite numerous calls to Customer Services, no difference. Our neighbours, on the same exchange, get a speed of 5-6 with BT. We left BT as Talk Talk was cheaper. Come October, we are going back to BT. The phrase 'cheap and nasty' springs to mind. Avoid Talk Talk unless you want an unreliable service with download speeds similar to a snail!

I went with talk talk after being with sky for 2 yrs. I change for the cheaper prices. Dont be fooled. U never have broad band in ur own home. The tv box they send u is slow or doesnt work. And dont get me startes on customer service!! They lwave u on hold four a hour. They dont get bk to u. Dont send out engineers. After 3 months i cancelled. They tried to give me a £500+ fine. But after i told them its them who owe me money for the internet and havnt recieved and the data i had to buy and my phone bill. Plus they hadnt kept there side to the contract so i werent keeping mine. They decided they would let mw off with the money. Dont let them rip u off!!!

    AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

Take my advice and do not go with these for broadband. After trying to move from my previous address, I informed them that a master socket needs installing. Basically, they keep saying all should be ok and the service working. After very long phone calls, they have now booked an engineer to have a look at the issue for us. The staff are very rude on the phone and just put the phone down on you when they have had had enough. There is certainly no customer excellence by them and most of them struggle with basic details such as postcodes or even getting your name right. There are much better providers out there than TalkTalk so just stay away from this very amateur company who cant provide any kind of service on any level.

Seems that every time I ring up to complain about my slow connection speeds, they magically speed up again, for about 2 weeks. Then the cycle repeats.

We have been with talk talk for a few months now with excellent service and download speeds. Plusnet speeds topped out at 500 kbits download MAX. Now its a regular 1 - 1.5mbits! They have brand new equipment in our exchange and the only provider here that can give more than 8mbit service (talktalk 14mbit) but they actually deliver real download speeds. Very happy from my household

Appalling Talktalk customer service after our phone line blew down in a gale. My neighbours were reconnected within a couple of working days but the BT Openreach engingeer said they couldn't reconnect us as Talktalk had not reported the fault (which I had notified to Talktalk within hours of it happening). 2 weeks later we are in the same situation, Talktalk keep promising to phone me back and 3 times haven't. It seems they have no record of the fault... Beyond useless. I advise you to never use this company

Absolute joke. Cut me off, took money out of my account without my permission, did not reconnect me on the day they said they would (still waiting for a connection), changed my landline number without my position (new number still not working). I have spent over 9-hours on my mobile trying to sort out this problem. Disgraceful Company with absolutely no customer focus at all. "Caveat emptor"

I have been with talk talk for 18 months.I looked at my bank account and found my monthly payment had doubled. I emailed them whereby they said they had sent an email to say my contract had expired on the 19th July 2022. I checked my email and I didn’t get one.I have asked to have that extra money back but they refused. They have offered me 35 fibre for my internet for the same price that I used to pay . I don’t think I will go for this .

Short review as only just switched from BT.
Set up, start to finish very easy, plug in and off you go on line.
Wi-fi signal 30% stronger than BT, can watch Netflix at the bottom of the garden now.
Better price for broadband and phone costs from talktalk.
    Easy to switch.
    That’s it, Thanks

Stay away from talktalk. I mean run run.
I've ordered a boundle online on the 8th of june an ingenier was suppose to install my router. They emailed me that i won't need an ingenier they will guide me through a video call.which never happen. I have to call them to guide me. Then after all that no internet. So they said an ingenier will come on the 11th of June to fix the problem. Nobody turned up, so i called them and they booked another day. Nobody turned up. 4th appointment and until now no ingenier turned up to fix my Internet. And nobody contacted me.
    No communication, no information.
On top of that, talk talk is sending me a bill for a service they haven't provided.
I really mean it STAY AWAY FROM TALKTALK

    Internet connection issue
The internet stopped working. They weren't able to find the issue and after 5 days they booked an engineer. After the engineer checked the line he told me and I quote " Your line has been CEASED by mistake. Your provider needs to UNCEASE your circuit and switch it back "
After chatting with 6 people on talktalk customer service and 6 different departments they were unable to find the issue.

They refuse to send me a deadlock letter or to confirm talktalk is a CISAS member.

Worst customer service, worst ISP. If I could rate 0 stars I will do it.

Ofcom reported, next will be CISAS.

This issue was first reported on 21.09.23 and still not resolved.

Talktalk keeps billing me without providing service, still delaying to send a deadlock letter or cancel the contract without exit fee.

    AVOID talktalk.

This is the worst service I have ever had. On initial setup it was fjne, got good network speed. A month later my speed dropped from 39mbps to only 12mbps, the internet kept dropping out too. I called talk talk to get this fixed so they sent out an engineer who told me there was no issues and said it was fixed. I called up a further 8 times since. Another month later the problem was still not fixed so I called up again and this time they said I can terminate my contract free of charge. Since leaving 2 months later talk talk are still trying to charge me fees of £425 for terminating the contract even when they said I don't need to pay! This is starting to turn out to be a scam, never trust them and never join!

So far we have waited a week to get our broadband connection and still not happened. It feels like as long as customer services make a call to you the actual issue is irrelevant ! They don't even tell you where they are calling from but launch straight into their script. Wish we had stayed with bt and can only hope the service improves !

If I could give 0 stars then i would. Staff are extremely rude and argumentative. Never arrived to install and I only found out reason why when I called them myself. Apparently there is no bt line in my property and it's a new build even though I have lived here neatly 6 years and the property was not new then. Went to another company who were able to install without delays. Staff shouted at me on the phone and argued with everything I said avoid like the plague.

I have been with Talk Talk for a year now.so far I cannot remember how many phone calls I made to them regarding the internet. Some days I had to turn the box off several times and on again, once I had no internet for 3 days for which I had a refund. Sometimes when I am in the middle of doing something on line, I would get the message "you are not connected to the internet " Every time I rang them they told me exactly the same thing,do this and do that, but the problem was still there. To cut a Long story short. They sent 2 different supposedly Talk Talk Engineer round. They checked this and that and reported back to Talk Talk tha there was no fault. Last August I had enough and told them I was going to cancel my Direct Debit and sue them for bad service. They then sent a real BT Engineer this time, He checked everything and was there nearly one hour. Then he went to the "Green Box " and told me he shortened some wire. He came back and connected the "third" box and it worked. Last month they had the cheek to charge me £60 for an Engineer s visit when it was their fault all that time. So, I wrote direct to the CEO's office. I got a reply to say that they had passed my complaint to a complaint Manager who will contact me in the next 3 days - that was 12 days ago! And I am still waiting.i have now written to the CEO's office again, enclosing a copy of their letter. If I don't get my money back, this time I will go to the Ombudsman.i will never recommend them to anyone.

Talktalk broadband is unreliable and regularly drops out. When it is working the speeds are acceptable but this didn't happen very often during the 8 months I was with them.
Complaining about the service is exasperating as the customer service and technical support is abysmal. I left because they insisted the problem was inside my home even though they sent an engineer around on 4 separate occasions and they all confirmed this was down to poor line quality due to lack of investment and second-rate routers. My advice - AVOID AVOID AVOID

Reasonable fibre broadband, but absolutely shocking customer support and technical service. Every single time you ring them you get a completely different answer. You wait in for appointments that haven't been booked. You don't get callbacks. Their customer support is an absolute mess.

I would like to add my voice to the ranks of disgruntled talktalk customers.

It disheartens me in a way because I until this year was fairly happy with their service.

Read on if you want to know exactly why NOT to sign up to talktalk.

I have been with talktalk since 2006 and until February 18th this year 2015 it was OK. Good speeds... In 2010 for example I was getting download speeds of up to 16 to 20 megabits per second.
Never really had any reason to call the helplines or call centres, very rarely did so.

My problems really began in October 2014 when I went to renew the service and they persuaded me to go for the TV package etc. as it would be cheaper and with various half price options it would work out cheaper. Anyway after making the point that I didn’t have a TV or would not be using this service they assured me that … take it anyway and you’ll qualify for a reduced rental even if you never use it. I before a made a verbal agreement added that “I agree with the proviso as long as what you say is correct”. They do record they conversations so you can prove it if you go via the Subject data access request legislation. So I went for it.

Anyway just before February I get a letter through the post saying that they had made a mistake with the pricing for a number of customers and that we (I) owed them an additional £50 which they would take by £10 per month over the next few months. At this point I jumped into gear and phoned them to say I would not pay them and that I was assured that this was all part of a deal whether or not I used the TV package (which I never have and never will do and told them so before agreeing).

I reminded them of the subject data access legislation and that I’d specifically added in the words subject to it being as they promised before agreeing to their verbal contract. To cut to the chase they agreed to wipe out the £50 extra charge. And I had to make sure by taking the name of the person who agreed this and a reference number. (I thought it wise as they clearly reneged on the original agreement)

Again it wasn’t as clear cut as first mentioned… I had to keep phoning each month to make sure they hadn’t taken £10, which they did keep doing probably by incompetence rather than design. I did get this refunded I add, but why should I have this hassle with their mistakes.

Now with most of the call centres in Mumbai I realised what the internet blogs were moaning about. And to be fair though some of these people do actually try and help but it often isn’t realistic considering the distance away and the culture differences & language nuances which they simply don’t twig. (Now that phrase would perplex most of them) Same with us … I remember a lady asked me a security question for my first pit.
And I thought what is she on about. So I asked again and she first pit… I said pit? Your dog your cat your pit… ah pet!

Benny Hill would have laughed too and done a comedy routine from this gem.

The problems were not confined to this however. Firstly the new online billing went from a fairly straightforward easy to understand format to a new design featuring a complex set of discounts obscure charges and tariffs which essentially was designed to confuse. You would have to have a Cambridge university degree in maths to understand these.

Withstanding all that I tolerated it but the next talktalk event was to change that. Come one evening in February whilst I was on the net looking my bank details suddenly the internet went offline and I went to the phone and that too was dead, the next day, still dead, no sound, no net, nothing.

I used my mobile to phone my family and a get talktalk contact number which isn’t 0870 so as I can phone talktalk via mobile.

Anyway the talktalk operator did try and help and within an hour a BT openreach engineer came round and checked my phone setup. He then went up the road to a junction box & after 40 minutes or so got the internet on but not the phone. Anyway after faffing around with his mobile to BT’s exchange he eventually gets my phone going. But it isn’t the same, it is noisy and the internet seems slower but the BT engineer says it will settle down in 24 hours…. Well it didn’t; it is now August and I have had enough.
I have phoned 2 or 3 times a week and sometimes a day since February..

I’ve had enough of phoning through to talktalk the same old script of a Indian guy or woman in Pakistan or India telling me put a new micro filter on, turn modem off for 10 seconds. Etc. Their line of attack is to try and scare you with the notion that it is some item of your computer equipment that is faulty rather than admit it is their supply line of they will do that if you don’t prove otherwise and it is another hefty charge.

I reiterated I had already one of their engineers call. A Polish talktalk engineer came round to the property, seen that I’ve got 2 computers, 2 telephones, 15 Ethernet cables, 2 routers one of which is theirs, 20 microfilters from companies including BT some never used in packets. And before they could try and insinuate it’s my power supply … a UPS (uninterruptable power supply). I told him to arrange it in any order he wished and show me how it was my equipment that was faulty.
He had to agree that the “fault” was somewhere on their circuit rather than mine.

I claim breach of contract because they have failed to deliver a service that was promised and it is unfit for purpose especially if the TV package was supposed to work. This service as it stands can’t hold up email properly let alone iplayer downloads etc.

Now are these events connected? … I don’t know for sure but it does seem a bit of a coincidence particularly when I was a satisfied customer for 9 years…. My service now is much the same as described on here by other customers. I suspect this so-called fibre broadband what they’re flogging now I had, and probably I was on the fibre feed and they or BT have switched my line over to someone else and I’ve the rubbish line they had.

Well I will move from these and give the post office for phones a try on the monthly contract and for internet it will be plusnet for the same type of monthly contract if possible. Or I will disconnect the home phone and go to three network payg and use my 321 plan for internet. It works btw…..

Talktalk are now giving a poor supply service and using tactics like obscure and obfuscated billing. Disjointed customer call centres with no proper logging of your complaint records. Sales tactics of promising all wonder of discounts and assuring it is all proper and there will nothing more to pay … only to find they a few months later they do change it. And it is difficult to prove unless you too record the calls... you can use subject access requests but most customers do not know this.

Paying in advance by credit card can sometimes help but they make this difficult to do. Finally when you do complain of slow speeds, slow internet and downloads they try and imply it is your equipment that is at fault and scare you with the £65 plus charge if it is( which in some cases it can be) but I suspect they use this if you cannot prove it isn’t.
They seem to do this even when they know it is their supply that is faulty rather than accept there is no fault of the customer.

Talktalk .. the writing is on the wall … go anywhere but there.

Wish I didn't sign up to a 18 month contract. Poor customer service. Find they ask you questions about just what you've told them. They either don't listen or have a script that they work from. Internet cuts out on my devices. I was offered a new fibre router and I asked would I just replace the existing cables and he said yes. Of course they don't. So frustrated with them and their telephone automated answer machine.

When my contract ended with talk talk they owed me money so instead of paying this back into my bank account they credited it back to my phone account which was now closed!!!!
After spending an hour on the phone they said they would refund the money back to my bank and advised it would take 5-7 days. When I asked the Question why
Credit the money to a closed account and not just refund it to my bank they said it was company policy. Think about all the money talk talk are making when they do this and customers don’t phone up!!!
So 7 days passed and still no refund so another hour on the phone only to be told it’s because of the bank holiday.
The money should have been refunded to my account on the 27th May it’s now the 7th June and I have phoned every day spending over an hour on the phone each time and talk talk giving me every excuse in the book. I even demanded to speak to a manager which I did after waiting 2 hours on the phone. The manager said he would sort this out for me and call me back the next day which was 4 days ago!!. I get a Text most days telling me that someone will call me between 12 - 2 but no one phones what great customer service!!
Late on Thursday evening 8th June a manager Phoned to say the call was being closed as their system was as saying it had been paid!!
As I explained again it hadn’t and they had to investigate where this money had gone to be told that I had to contact my bank to investigate. As I pointed out that wouldn’t achieve anything because if they hadn’t had the money then there was nothing to investigate. I was then asked to send a bank statement from the 20th May to the 7th June to prove it wasn’t there. This is not something that I would normally do as this is private banking information to me but to get this sorted I would have done anything as it is now a matter of principle.
I sent this off to them and then received a phone call on Friday from the complaints department to go through the whole thing again. She advised that yes she could see it had been paid somewhere but not to my account HALLELUJAH FINALY someone agreed with me. The call ended with the lady saying I would have a call back which I explained was no good as I am out of the country for the next two week so could they please email me. I am not holding my breath and expect to be back on the phone in two weeks but we will see
I will never go with talk talk again
No one understands or knows what they are doing.
They are all robots reading from a script and no one can think outside the box.
    Customer service it’s a joke and it’s a disgrace.

I'm moving from Talktalk and although I am paying for the c**p service that I have been getting for the last year I now have virtually no service at all. They certainly did not keep any of their promises to sort out my problems and so it's goodbye and I can hardly wait.

A truly disgusting breach of customer care of duty. A brazen denial of customer rights and obligations, deliberately designed to prevent customers from obtaining any sort of satisfactory support.

APPALLING. This word sums Talk Talk up perfectly. Appalling customer services unless you enjoying wasting 2 hours of your life trying to speak to someone who actually understands what you're trying to achieve by your phonecall. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - WASTE OF MONEY.

I've only just joined Talktalk but regret it already. I've had over ten text messages and emails completely contradicting what the phone operators tell me. Their communication is awful.
I think I'm still in the cooling off period. If the engineer doesn't visit today as promised I'll cancel

Do NOT deal with this company. Two weeks after receiving my router, I still am not connected. Very difficult to get through on the phone, a bot service which is hard to locate in the first place then ponderously slow, repetitive and ineffective. Truly awful service which is hard to fathom in 2022!
    Please avoid at all cost.

Nightmare from day 1! Arrived late, faulty equipment had to send an engineer round, tried to charge me £50.00 for that repair. internet didnt work for the first month but was still charged for it, every-time I speak to live chat I get disconnected ( 8 times in a row ) Canceling the Direct Debit and leaving them as now they are trying to charge me £10.00 late fee for their own errors. Would love my case to go to court!

Don't EVER signup with Talk Talk! Started out with simply Broadband, but they couldn't provide the speed needed. So called back after the 2 weeks test period. They suggested to send out an engineer. We agreed on a date and time. I was informed a £25 fee would aplly if I wasn't at home. They also offered me an upgrade to fibre optic which of course increased the monthly fee but I didn't have to pay the upfront fee for the internet. They day came of the engineer visit. No one showed up. 2 days later I called Talk Talk just to make sure I wasn't charged for a missed visit. I was assured this wouldn't happen as the probably was at the exchange then. Then my bill came. Normally it would be for £21.70. It was for £85.56!!! called back only to be told that it was for a missed visit and upfront fee for fibre optic as well as two months rates ( would have been nice to have know the latter when we signup). Tried to dispute the fee for the missed visit. But they answered they didn't have any notes of my phone call with their employee who assured me I didn't have to pay for the visit. The same with upfront fee for fibre optic! what a load of c...!!! but they did tell me if I wanted to have their complaints team call me within 24-48 hours!!! such a joke! Go with Sky instead. They might be pricier, but at least you don't have to double check your bill every month!
