    If I could I wouldnt rate them at all. They dont deserve any stars. Not had proper broadband for 3-4 months now. I have been going round and round in circles with them saying maintenance is fixing the issue, messaging me saying it's fixed when it clearly wasnt. I have switched the virgin now. And will be ensuring I have written evidence that my contract has been cancelled. DONT GO THERE, AVOID THEM!!!

    Told talk talk twice in the phone call I couldn’t afford to pay it and they could cut me off, so now they’ve taken £67 on my daughters money, and then use the systems are down as an excuse but called back for a different reason and the system if perfectly fine hmm... told them they were stealing my daughters money and they needed to put it back, they said call back in 3 hours!!! As if I don’t have things to do!! Terrible talktalk, will never recommend you to anyone!! Your theifes and I will make sure everybody cancels there talktalk connection and goes better!!! Your **** little theiviving *****

    Cancelling my service after my contract had ended was a nightmare. I've been forced to pay for over an extra month after I wanted to close my account.

    Even finding the information about cancellation was difficult enough, then rather than simply pressing a button on my account, I had to spend ages on hold before finally getting through to someone who could cancel the account.

    I had to do this twice because the first time it wasn't actioned. Then I received ANOTHER bill for another whole month totalling a month and a half being paid for when I wasn't even using their service.

    They told me I'd be refunded the extra half month, but I have to contact them to ask for it back (even more needless hoops to jump through) in over a months time.

    Talktalk think you have nothing better to do than constantly chase them when you want to ko longer be their customer, giving them the cancellation to squeeze every last penny out of you.

    If you want to use their service, you may as well just put up with them forever because they won't make leaving them easy or fair.

    The customer service rep became irate with me when I asked how I could leave feedback on their cancellation policy and could only give me a postal address telling me "no we don't have an email".

    An Internet company...doesn't have an email for customer feedback?!

    Of course they don't, that would make improving their service too easy.

    Absolutely appalling. The worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
    We were told the internet and phone would be connected on one date. There all of a sudden was an 8 day delay. We wait patiently and with no warning or communication still no internet. After 4 hours trying to talk on their online chat they eventually tell me it will take a further 10 days. They have blocked my line so I can't go elsewhere and despite me notifying them at least 10 times in writing they refuse to cancel as they say it has been escalated to a manager and can't cancel it. I tried to go to another provider but they have told me the line has been blocked. Talktalk claim they have not blocked it and it must be my previous provider that I left 4 weeks ago when I signed with Talktalk. I called previous provider only to be told that is not true.

    Basically if you want no phone, broadband or tv for months on end and don't mind being lied to by incompetent staff that can't spell properly or string a complete sentence together without at least 10 spelling mistakes and grammatical errors then sign up with them.

    The actual service has never been a problem. But holy moly. Moved address and was given the worst customer service I have ever experienced. A company this large, with Trista Harrison at the helm should be ashamed of how they talk to people. Someone needs to grip this entire environment. To have customers told they will get what they are given is insanely ridiculous. To have another operator laugh at the problems you are experiencing is down right abuse. Absolutely shocked. Avoid it like the plague.

    Absolute disaster.
    I ordered the new line to replace SKY because I needed the fixed IP. After about 10 days the technician arrived, they forced me to put a new line but, after 4 days, it never worked.
    The technician who came for the installation was completely incapable and rude and unprepared.
    After dozens of phone calls I asked for the cancellation and they had the courage to ask me for money! Absurd!
    Furthermore, I can no longer reconnect to SKY!
    Please listen to me stay away from TALKTALK!

    Worst company to join would highly recommend to avoid talk talk canceled my contract early would give 0 star as 1 star is too flattering they have zero communication skills broadband is so slow even though had fibre never went above 22mb with sky now and have 38mb so much better deals with sky or even virgin still waiting for compensation for 10 months of bad service so happy that I'm not with talk talk anymore

    Stuck in a contract with talk talk when I moved into a new build home. No internet so far for 6 weeks. I have been lied to, never called back when 'guaranteed' a call back with an update. Nothing done to progress the matter. Colleagues advice was conflicting and unhelpful. I have previously had issues with talk talk and wish I had no renewed my contact. Stay clear!

    I am originally a Nildram customer acquired by TalkTalk Business through successive takeovers. On October 31, 2013 TalkTalk unilaterally moved me to their Broadband Only (IPS) package.

    On the day of the switch I lost my service. Initially I was told it was a nationwide problem affecting "legacy" customers and that they expected to sort it out "soon". Five days later, unable to run my business, talking to tech support several times a day with no resolution, they eventually asserted that it was a problem with the line and officially closed the issue, telling me to contact BT.

    Today I decided to try changing my router configuration to let them assign my IP address dynamically instead of using the fixed IP address I've had for almost 10 years.

    Bingo! It works.

    I can't easily forgive that oversight on their part, but worse still were the promises of calls back that never came; the confident assertions about "nationwide problems" that were irrelevant; the endless time on hold; the inability locate my account records, and total unwillingness to be told that they were covering and recovering the same trouble-shooting procedure again and again.

    Now they are telling me to wait five days for a MAC number so I can go elsewhere. What a nerve.

    Very poor internal recording keeping and poor diagnostic procedures TalkTalk. Not recommended.

    152 text messages to and from them about internet not working.
    All they want to do is have me do "tests" each time I contact them, the same jump through hoops procedure EVERY time with the same result of nobody cares and "a manager will call within 5 days" it's now 11 days and nobody's called!
    Avoid these cowboys, it's fine (slow) when it works but dont expect any help if it goes wrong.

    I would give no stars if i could. The worst service provider ever, the broadband is very slow or not working. They refuse to help with any issues at all, if fact all they do is try to sell you more rubbish kit or packages that you don't need. i will leave as soon as my contract completes.

    Terrible scam artists. Due to finding a cheaper broadband deal, I switched to a new provider and they stated that they would contact Talktalk. Switched as planned, then Talktalk send a bill as normal. Called talktalk to say my provider has changed and I had already checked that my line to talktalk had been switched. Talk talk then claim they had not been told. New provider gave dates of sent and received confirmations. Called TT many times, after giving you security details four or five times and being passed around, you are eventually connected to cancellations. The perfectly clear phone call suddenly changes to the sound of a hundred voices, louder than your agents voice and the sound constantly breaking up. The same thing happens every time I get through to the cancelation team. I can never complete the process. I going to have to waste yet another 45 minutes to get through the them. Due to the repeated nature of problems of cut offs and poor sound connection in only the cancelation team, I can only assume it is completely deliberately unprofessional, so that you cannot cancel. Meanwhile my new provider has given me extra credit on my account for the difficulties Talk Talk are causing.

    10 days now with no internet.
    Spent over 10 hours "chatting" and 2 engineers came 2 separate days who could not fix it.
    Whenever I contact them (asian call centre) they want me to repeat all the rebooting, unplugging, we need to test the line, what box is on the wall and is there a filter plugged in useless rubbish standard "tests" that are a total waste of many hours of my time, then say they can't book another engineer unless I comply with their routine.
    escalated it to a complaint and they say to expect a manager to call "within 5 days"
    Avoid this company, they are worse than useless.

    to say I have my telephone -television broadband and pay for an upgrade for the broadband the service is very hit and miss and I've been wth this company a number of years and find they do not responed quickly I am very close to moving to another supplier

    I have just signed up for faster broadband at a cost of £4 pound a month extra on my bill, supposedly 20 mb's just checked speed is around 10mb's I live about half a mile from the exchange, pretty disappointed.

    When I first received faster fibre broadband, the speed was indeed up to 30Mb/sec. over the last 2 years the speed has diminished to sometimes under 2Mb/sec. Remarkably, each time I call customer services, the speed jumps to about 15Mb/sec after their 'test'. And after an hour on the phone being patronised and having to give my personal details three times. Next day it's down to about 3Mb/sec again. Now I have to wait three days while my latest complaint is being 'investigated'. Cheap, but rubbish. Virgin have laid their fibre cables in our town. Once it's online, I'm switching. Enough of this Mickey Mouse company.

    Rubbish Customer services, sent me another box even though being a customer I had one, charged £25 for their error, sent Two bags to send it back which are too small, tried to get me to pack it and pay for postage.

    A so called Manager rang me with a lot of Rubbish and did not resolve anything.

    I have never experienced worse customer service worse than TalkTalk. FULL STOP.

    1 hour on the phone only to be cut off, 2 hours on web chat only to be eventually transferred (ignored), they just wait for you to give up and leave as they can not be bothered to sort your issue out, I simply wanted to amend a new order (A NEW CUSTOMER!!!). I then got to the point that I wanted to cancel the order as the drone simply came back with constant irrelevant questions and at every point, I have to wait for 5, 10, or 20 + min for a single reply.

    Avoid at all costs!

    Im paying for a 80 20 Internet speed about 1 month ago did a speed test on this site it was 45.6 down 8 up rang talk talk about this im a avid online gamer they was blaming sony network so i did a talk talk speed test same as your test speed they rebooted my router the person ssaid it Could take upto a month to get to full speed. I said im out of contract im going to leave been with talk talk for five years only thing i got back was ill type that into the computer and put the phone down on me i went onto there website and there was 100s of comments from talk talk customers having same issues mine keeps going to full speed then dropping like a brick. I Would lik to know which is the Best provider for gaming online. Thanks

    Without doubt the worst provider, with the worst customer service. They were stealing from me every month,I say stealing as I was paying for a service I never had with them.I was 20 days without phone or internet, and the compensation I was offered? £20.00, insulting to say the least. Their appalling customer service is the worst I've ever suffered from any company, their agents don't give a damn, and openly treat you as a nuisance. don't bother with Ofcom neither as you have to be six weeks without service before they lift a finger to help you, which is unacceptable, surely it should be two weeks but I guess that means they actually have to do some work for a change.i wish that talk talk was forcibly shut down and the poor victims aka customer's properly compensated for the lies and deceit that this wicked company dupe people with. AVOID THEM.

    As others have stressed: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
    I am flabbergasted as to how they are still in business. My boyfriend and I are stuck on the most painful 18 month contract and I cannot wait until its over. My boyfriend has spent countless hours on the phone when the broadband failed, was going too slow, when the tv didn't work... The number of times he has had to explain a simple fault over and over to the dullards at the call centre who seem chronically unable to document anything is just shocking. If you don't mind spending a good potion of your waking hours on the phone to some of the most unhelpful people offering a substandard service, by all means sign up. I'd rather pay double for a service that actually works from a company that understands customer service.

    Poor customer service, kicking you to the other colleagues constantly. Let you spend the whole day with no problem solved, waiting on hold for at least 2 hours. Charging and charging. Can't get rid of it once you order a braodband services.

    1 week without internet at home and not knowing when it will get sorted. This has caused serious aggravations in terms of time and money to me and my wife as we both work from home.

    The service support from Talk Talk has been the worst ever. Not enough staff available, so they never respond the phone and it takes sometimes hours to reply in the chat. The staff does not have any clue and they just repeat always the same protocols and questions ignoring all the precedents.

    I have spent all along the week around 12 hours in the chat (not joking) without getting anywhere. The best I have got is the visit of an engineer in 3 days, that will be already 10 days without internet.

    Avoid this company, their customer service is ridiculous and cero emphaty with the client

    Yes it is actually bad. I was with a broadband provider called tentel and I never had any issues with them what so ever. The connection was always great and steady. Then out of nowhere we were informed that talk talk had brought tentel and they would now become our provider. My god since that day the broadband has been shocking. The connection dies several times a day, it’s so so slow and unfortunately living in a rural location fibre broadband is not an option. I only use it for my phone, the computer on the odd occasion and for my now tv box. Shocking shocking shocking!!!!!!!!

    This is the worst broadband in England l wouldn't recommend anyone to use this broadband l am very disappointed in this service this is the worst l repeat from the customer service to those representatives who sign people in the streets those people costed me a lot . The customer services are not even helpful

    Awful awful awful. Awful. We moved from Sky and were getting speeds of around 5mbs. Moved to Talktalk, and it dropped to under 2.

    This has so far taken over 2 weeks for them to sort out, and nothing has improved. Finally, it was agreed an engineer would visit. Due to an emergency medical procedure, we had to postpone the engineer (which took 15 minutes on the phone to do.) No one passed-on the message so I had an angry engineer calling from my doorstep even though we'd called to postpone.

    My phone number was unexpectedly changed, and they haven't written to give us our new number.

    I have so far spent 3 hours on the phone to them, and no progress has been made. One call centre operative insisted on calling me Richard. My name isn't Richard. I told him that and he carried on calling me Richard.

    They can't even get the basics right - avoid like the plague.

    Have been a customer of AOL for 20+ years but now TalkTalk has taken over AOL and I have just received my first bill (more expensive than AOL). Speed for ADSL broadband was far slower than with AOL I measured 7.5 which TalkTalk say is an acceptable speed. Have asked for a MAC code but TalkTalk so far is just talking and talking from somewhere in South Africa.

    Wow, Just phoned to cancel order after reading reviews. After speaking to an Asian gentleman, He put me through to an English guy who was asking me questions. Why did I want to leave Etc. He was rude, Obnoxious. I can't believe his attitude, So glad I cancelled in time.

    Just terrible across the board.
    Sporadically gives you a new ip address which kicks you off the internet at random times.
    Heaven forbid more than one person is online as it grinds to a virtual hault.
    Customer service is dreadful.
    I have to reset the router at least 3 times a day.

    Save yourself a lot of hastle and just pay the extra £5 - £10 for a decent service provider.

    Its the cheapest for a bloody good reason.

    Horrible service...Connected with them on 20 august,on 1 september without internet already.Already 14 september,their engineer came on 12 september and did nothing and tell me to wait for another engineer,to fix the socket.Another engineer didn t come today,spoke with their customer service and they told me to wait for another 72 hours.Unbelievable disrespectfull company.Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!

    The absolutely worst ISP out there. They will try every which way to manipulate you without providing any level of customer service or even internet service. We used them until the internet was dropping out every few hours. Tried the awful customer service centre based in God knows which country. They run off poorly constructed scripts to keep you on the phone for hours without offering a logical solution. All geared towards you getting frustrated and hanging up. Informed them that the old router needed to be replaced and basically they avoided any hardware change opting to change the configuration. Which didn't work nor was it any better. It takes at least 40/60 mins to get to a person and then they are devoid of any customer service training. Leaving them is much worse as they try every trick to either get you to stay or get you to hang up. Totally useless on every level. I've heard this from many people who have left them. Avoid like the plague. They are expensive and untrustworthy.

    The worst service in England. During the contract, they raise the price. Also I bought from them for the better speed Faster Fibre, but never get it. They sent to me Opensearch engineer and he found cable damage, reported to Talktalk but company nothing to did, just carry on charge extra money, I three days chatted to them and they said me: "We provide to you Faster Fibre and we will not return money to you." Maaad!
    Yesterday was frequent breakages of the connection and I contact to them again. (I played poker online and lost some money, not too much, but it is unpleasant) They offer me to send engineer for inspection again, but I have to pay for that 65 pound charge. I was indignant, began to explain the situation as a whole, but he just closed the chat. Now my internet connection speed 8.01 Mbps Thanks TalkTalk!

    Wot a load of fools... customer service is in South Africa!!! Wtf.. no wonder they cant understand the queens English...
    Do not use!!!! Utter rubbish....been on the phone for 1hr and 47 min and still nothing sorted!!!!

    Talktalk are an absolutely awful company to deal with. Two weeks after our initial go live date I received a call from customer services to say there was a problem with the initial connection and they would need to reconnect it. They failed to explain this would leave me for a minimum of two weeks without phone or broadband. After over 4 hours of phone calls over 3 days and being cut off twice due to departments being closed they told me my account was cancelled due to a computer error ordering standard and fibre broadband to my house. None of the six talktalk advisers/managers i spoke to told me I had to reapply to start the activation process. Cancelled my order and have gone elsewhere. Avoid at all costs.
