Find calls to talktalk very difficult. Once waited so long for lady to come back that the line went dead. Another time phone put down deliberately or not but no call back. The departments not defined very well. Great difficulty in understanding young lady today, at one point said want to go and refresh myself ! Silent for sone time and then cameback -no explanation. Went to loyalty for better deal and they offered a higher price. Asked as moving but not too sure when as my contract is expiring soon how much will it be if I leave talktalk when I move. First told we cannot possibly tell you ! Asked somebody else and told £9 for each month left on contract. As could be over one year that sounds a lot to me and why that amount for something I am not using. Can understand paying say another month or even two but that sounds unreasonable. Also with all the background shouting, giggling and laughing when read off terms and conditions could not catch them properly so asked could they be posted or emailed, no we cannot do that. I find that a bit strange as I just want to know what I am agreeing to, I would have thought that was breaking the law surely as do not know what I am agreeing to but no interpreters and no fault of my own. Was a very difficult conversation, I was an announcer for years and you need to know how to speak so people can understand you. As so much noise she must have put her mouth right near the mouth piece and spoke louder which really distorted it and seemed a long delay to questions so kept both talking together. Ended up agreeing to everything as my third call. Don’t think about it taking 30mins to an hour. Takes best part of morning or afternoon and afterwards you need a strong drink - or two Anne,

What a total waste of time, I informed talk talk my Mom had gone into 24/7 care in January and the service was no longer required and asked them to cancel. They informed me my Mom would have to ring (she is deaf by the way) however she did so and answered the security questions. On checking I find talk talk have taken a further 3 direct debit payments from her account. On ringing they tell me her phone call was cut off and the account was still in place and they cannot cancel without talking to her. She is quite ill now. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE, THEY HAVE NO CONSIDERATION WHATSOVER, THEY SUCK

So wish I'd read these reviews before choosing Talk Talk to provide my broadband. A truly terrible experience which caused me, as a 71 year old with poor vision, distress to the point of illness. Speed so slow it didn't register at all.
Early exit fee bill arrived in a matter of hours - not applicable as I am within the cooling off period.
Would give zero scores if permitted.

Absolutely appalling. Broadband speed slow and sporadic. Most of the time not there at all. We ended up using up all our mobile phone data to undertake the tasks we would have have done using our home internet. No resolution to problems following complaint then to add insult to injury bombarded us with phone calls and emails when we decided to go elsewhere. Final straw they’ve sent a bill with a credit on and you have to claim this yourself rather than them crediting to your account.
Avoid this company like the plague.

The worst service and customer service that I have ever experienced. The broadband is extremely poor. We signed a contract for 12 months which was £2.50 a month and immediately they put the price up. They are always trying to bill us for things that we haven't used. We are now at the end of our contract and are moving providers, but they are trying to charge us for the line rental that we paid for up front at the beginning of our contract. We have spoken to them on the phone numerous times, they insist that we pay for things that we haven't used, their customer service is useless as they are really unhelpful and won't make a note that we want to cancel. None of the call centres are in the UK so it's impossible to get things resolved quickly and efficiently. I can't wait to move next week.

Now 6 weeks without and trying to blame Openreach. Everyone you speak to tells you a different story. No sign of ever getting a service from them again. Wish we'd stayed with Virgin. Awful.

Worst company ever! Stay away from Talk talk talk. Even though the basic rate is low, the internet itself is very slow and unreliable. Furthermore they charged me twice with engineer costs, which were promised to be free, which made me pay £ 130 on top. FRAUDULENT COMPANY with a very bad customer service!!!

I've been with talktalk for many years and have now given up. I do not have the time or energy to switch providers but enough is enough. The customer service is awful to say the least, the staff are so rude and are unable to speak English properly !
They are not good value for money and over charge on many things. I started by paying £15 a month and now pay £35, wouldn't mind if the internet was fast but it is appallingly slow !
Cannot wait till May when my contract finishes, I will be moving to a different and better provider.
Good riddance to a bad company ! TalkTalk is the worst company ever !

When talk talk first entered the market, I joined,as their price was cheap, but that time they left me with no phone line for 3 months, and kept telling me the fault was my end, the fault was in fact in the outside cable! They put new cabbleing, said they would remove the old one but never did.
As I was caring for a disabled child and needed a operational phone line, and was paying for a phone line I could not use in a emergency, I suffered so much stress, which was not helped by poor almost impossible to get hold of customer service, it took hours and a visit to the shop associated with the company to use their internal phone, for more hours. as I'd payed £40 allready and got nowhere, and ran out of money! Then they sent a engineer whilst I was miles away in said shop and said I was the problem, I had to drag my disabled child to a shop and sit there for hours, administering medication, and was not able to return home quick enough. I did receive my money back about a year or so after I got out of my contract early and having to pay for that privilege!!!!!
Jump upto now I was searching for a cheaper broadband deal 9 months ago, I was under the impression that all the time that has passed improvements would have been made, so I took out a new contract, initially i was not provided with the voucher incentive and had to chase that! Then they changed the package I had within 6 months, billed me irregurly put data package on my bill, but it then took four hours, talking with their chat and being on hold for a hour only to be cut off by their end, and after I spoke to four people, none off them could understand my bill, even when I asked to speak to a manager, it appears they did not charge me fully one month, then added the underpayment
onto the next, how do you manage a budget like that!
Years ago I said never again, and I should have never taken out a new contract, their customer service needs a vast amount of improvement, and after all the time that has passed since I was last with them, I don't hold out any hope of ever seeing this happen!

These are the most poorest disgusting internet service providers! Speeds so slow a snail would be faster..line drops..you will have to constantly disconnect & reconnect. Now for the customer services..hahaha what a joke...they try to fob you off stating there is a problem with your phone & not with the broadband! They send engineers to 'fix' this which as they say will soon improve your speeds! Customer services think this will pacify you..which of course it doesn't. The bills you receive ate never right unexplained charges appear! We have now cancelled the service after only 3 months...and do not have any early exist fees to pay..the way to do this is stand your ground with them argue & keep on at them...

I couldn't even make it as a new customer with TalkTalk! I tried twice, but both times (having provided all the information they required and setting up a new Direct Debit, they cancelled on me, sending me an email saying please call to ensure completion of cancellation (which I did not instigate). None of the automatic menus on offer allowed me to do what I needed to do, then the person I spoke to was rude and said that calling was not what the email said (specific wording was "We're sorry that you've decided to cancel your order. Please call us on 0345 172 0088* to ensure your cancellation is completed.").

I will NEVER contemplate TalkTalk again, and will advise ANYONE who asks to walk away from them

So this is THE worst broadband provider I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Broadband package i purchased was apparently "super fast" well that is not the case should of be labelled "super slow". Contacting their customer services department is like talking to a five year old child. A conversation that should take five minutes lasts 40 to 50 minutes! Then the problem still isnt resolved. Its just going round and round in circles. I'm honestly amazed that this company is still open. I advise anyone thinking of going with TalkTalk to pay the extra few pounds a month and go with a reputable company it will save you the headache of no existent broadband and the worst customer services interactions ive ever had!. AVOID.

WORST BROADBAND I HAVE EVER HAD!!!
Consistently unreliable. Should be seeing fibre optic speeds of around a modest 20mb/s but, on a daily basis, I find the speeds dropping to a unbelievable 0.5mb/s. Rendering it useless!
Customer service pathetic and just lie about the joke of a hub. How TalkTalk have been allowed to get away with releasing such a piece of kit this appalling is criminal.
A year long hell experience but thankfully our contract runs out soon.
Would not (and never) recommend this company to anyone ever!
Potential future customers... you have been warned.
    AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

They've been taking ever increasing amounts of money from me and not provided me with a service for months. Thanks to them I've lost out on so much work I'm facing homelessness. They refuse to stop charging me after my contact expires and want to charge me more to cancel after it expires. No advice for months yet they pretend that it's all working.

The customer service was rubbish; I called to cancel and was held for a long time, then told that the system was down so they couldnt cancel my service. I called back and spend an hour speaking to at least 3 people just to pay the cancellation fee.

the speed in that area was also rubbish, no better spead was available from talktalk

Terrible Internet. Massive waste of money. Intermittent broadband connection, forever dropping out and when it finally works its extremely slow. Paying to have more time being disconnected from the Internet than we are being connected. Steer well clear from TalkTalk.

    Support team is useless.
I've had a formal complaint about anonymous caller reject for over 6 months but they have not fixed it. Each time they run through the same script. They expect me to hang on the phone for long periods while they do something else.
One time they called and interupted a call to a friend that I was already on. No warning. They just broke in and disconnected my friend.
It seems they can only work to the script and cannot deviate, even when it is obviously wrong. E.g. calling unable to access the account or mail box, "can you access other web sites? Yes. We will test the line! (It is obviously working!)
Their web pages do not work correctly in any of the common browsers. Their answer is that I should call Microsoft or Google to get it fixed!
It just goes on and on with no effective solutions.

Worst internet ever, especially for a gamer, I can't watch a simple YouTube video without having to wait 5 minutes for it to load, although it's a two minute video, and I can't stay in an online lobby for more than ten minutes without being disconnected. Simply very frustrating and will be changing the second I get the chance.

Worst company I have ever dealt with! Engineer booked to come to my home on the 29/11/2018 and my services to be active by midnight, engineer never turned up. I rang him to be told he didn’t have the job and to call someone else, I then speaks to the person who is suppose to be here, to be told he’s now out of town so it’s tough luck!!!
I rings talk talk and not once did I get to speak to someone I could actually understand propley! I kept been put on hold every 2 minutes.
Then then text me, and after explaining the issue a further million times, they still haven’t come to a resolution!
I woke advise anyone to NOT USE TALK TALK, unless you like been pissed about, and wasting valuable days waiting in for engineers who do not actually turn up!
I will be cancelling my contract with immediate effect!!

Talk talk give out rubbish customer service, when signing up with them we have had NO service! When we called to set up the account they set a date for when our service was supposed to start, before that date came they were trying to take out money from our account!! When I called up to cancel they sent out a bag to send the box back straight away!!!! They had the cheek to charge us for making a call when we have NO landline, you can be on the phones to their customer service for hours and still will not get the outcome as they do not listen to you! They are now trying to get us to pay £93.63 for something we have not got!!!! Complete waste and of time ignore talk talk would rather pay a little bit more to get proper customer service!!!!!

Nothing can describe my disappointment and anger from my experience with using talk talk I honestly hate how the connection is at a minimum state whenever I use it I download things at 1mb/s when it is ment to do 30mb/s. Also I like to play a lot of game so I need to use internet to play online however whenever I go online I can get kick out of the game because I have lost connection. Although ethernet is an alternative I don't want to have wires to connect everything together also the bad internet isn't just on my phone or console it's even bad on my laptop which I use next to the router this frustration is what led me to make this review.

I would recommend to next buy or consider. Better service provider are out there that just charge a little more.

I cannot begin to tell you how horrific talk talk is. Last year I moved house in September and they left me with no internet for 9 weeks! Eventually when they managed to actually set my line up they had the whole 'hack' situation so told me I had to have a new line put in. After that they then tried billing me for 2 lines despite the second one no longer existed! They had sent a bill for £400 to me for this non existent line and threatened to take me to court if it wasn't paid by the end of the week. Thankfully I managed to get through to a manager after trying to do so for many weeks so the situation has now been sorted. However this does not excuse their service! My internet is now fiber optic however seems just as bad as their regular internet. Constantly disconnecting, I can't have more than 2 things connected to it at one time or it'll crash all together. All in all I would highly recommend that you stay far far away from talk talk if you want good customer service and good wifi. I will be changing servers once my contract is up.

Worst broadband I have ever used, I can barely connect to the internet and now I have somehow gone over my allowance in the broadband? How does that even happen when I can't even connect to my router 70% of the day.

Don't ever get this broadband unless you want to waste your money.

An appalling service who choose to prioritise their money flow over their customers. Over the course of the past two months I have been charged a gargantuan £40 each month compared to the usual £8 and when I enquired about this via their telephone service they simply dodge the question and go as long as possible to retain their undeserved money and don't even look at the problem from the customer's perspective. Considering that I have been a customer for years I am absolutely appalled by how they treated me and their attempt to combat the problem by saying they'll give me a small tiny fraction back only highlights this ridiculous company, their shambolic customer service and their total ignorance of customer loyalty. I will be parting service from the buffoons and transfer to another service provider because to be quite frankly honest I have no idea how I have lasted this long with garbage company.

Ever since I got talk talk broadband I have been contacting them on a weekly basis. They do the same checks , and keep sending new routers, they give a million reasons for the low connection but they just don’t let me go. The max speed I have had is 0.6mbps. The worst I have had is 0.3mbps. Most of the fault managers have been rude saying I am still getting their minimum speed guaranteed. And for this connection I pay £18

Dont get talktalk its a pile of crap, we pay over £20 for internet speeds of 0.9 mbps (average download/upload speed) and every time we call up to fix something it takes up to an hour to get through and the person on the other end are always really unhelpful plus when the technicians come to fix the internet they just give us a new modem which fixes the problem for about 5 minutes. Also the ethernet ports at the back of the modem only run speeds of 100mbps which isnt enough.
