I switched from sky and regretted it as kids would scream they have lost connection while online gaming.
It took many phone calls and now no more lost connection.
    Once it's sorted I can't complain
I am getting steasy 31mb from the 38mb package

For the price of £22.50 you can't go wrong.
If the price was same price as rival company I would leave.
I would say their customer service is not great..most read from script but some are really good and helpful.

    AVOID at all costs.
Upgrading within talktalk package from old copper line to new full fibre line. despite being live for multiple days they claim that my new package is not active and not only did they not bill me at the old rate, but came up with a random new higher rate. Would not address this issue unless I specifically plug in a specific router provided by them to 'prove' the line is active. Told them their router has connectivity issues which is why I am not using it. When challenged what relevance which router I am using is to my billing, they just say it is the only way they will address my billing issue. The new package uses a completely different modem and outside cable than the old one. Confirmed my old line was not working anymore and new one is working, provided photos of the new modem with lights showing working, even using the internet provided by the new line to leave this review and check on account details, yet talktalk still claim my new package is not active so they cannot deal with my account inconsistencies.

Can't rate this service nor do I intend to. This lot are basically a bunch of liars! Told my husband that an engineer would call on the 4th January, two weeks after we reported the fault. We rang every day as the broadband kept dropping out to be told yesterday that there was no engineer appointment booked.... Only to be told today that there is and engineer booked for the 4th..... So frustrating. Very very unhappy and will never recommend this service to anyone. Have now switched service provider......

Appalling! I have had two years of misery with Talk Talk. They do not appear at all interested in solving my problems, only getting money.
I have suffered very unreliable / intermittent wireless and even phone connection.
If I am lucky, I can get 15mbps on 2 days out of 7. I get, on average, between 0.5 and 1.5 mbps the other 5 days.
I have spent countless hours on the telephone to the help desk advisors, who I can rarely understand due to hearing difficulties, and am nearly always told after the customary line check "Yes, I can see that you have a very unstable connection.."
Sometimes, it gets fixed - for two days at most.
BT engineers are up the pole opposite my house almost every fortnight.
I chat to them, and am told "There is a problem...but we didn't tell you that!" There is a junction box at the base of the pole. Whenever it rains, this is full of water, covering the cables.
Coincidentally, I get NO connectivity when it rains!
I can get to send an email if I am lucky, or post here, but to do any more like use 'Alexa' or stream a movie - forget it.
Talk Talk sent proof to Resolva that I "downloaded 28mb of data last week.." I am sure I did, it was probably in one burst, on one or two days, trying to play "catch up" however!
After the "thousandth" (I exagerate here, but here only), call to Talk Talk, I was persuaded to go onto Fibre which would "cure all the problems".
It has made no difference and costs me a lot more.
I was promised the widely advertised 27-00 reliable, fast fibre broadband, but was immediately put up to 33-00, then 33-00.
What is more, I now find myself locked unwittingly into another two years of hell with TT.
The moment I can, I shall move and escape this appalling service.
Yes, I am angry, and frustrated beyond belief - all this from someone who, believe it or not, never complains!
I hope more people will vote with their feet.
In desperation, I even contacted Martin Lewis (who I think will be doing something on all this soon I hope), who agreed it was appalling, but quite typical of Talk Talk - "They are not near the bottom of the customer service polls for nothing..!"

Uncaring, and definitely does NOT do "what it says on the tin"!

I am now one year into my two year contract. There has not been a month go by where I have not had to phone up and complain about the broadband service which 9 out of 10 times also results in a complaint about the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. I strongly advice people to take there custom else where its cheap for a reason and that is it's poor standards.

Poor broadband service - it has been intermittent from the beginning, which makes watching a streaming video extremely frustrating. When I called customer service to resolve the problem, I spent half an hour on the phone to do something which should have taken 5 minutes. I called customer service a second time in response to an email from TalkTalk offering a free upgrade in recompense for the hacking fiasco. I wanted a free visit from an engineer. The customer service operator talked me into upgrading to fibre, but lied about the cost and failed to mention that this would mean I couldn't get the free visit from the engineer. I was passed to another customer service operative who was equally useless. Their poor English combined with background noise makes it very difficult to understand them, and they ignore all of my questions. Cancelling the fraudulent order will no doubt take me another hour on the phone with their diabolical customer service.

Talk talk are ok if you never have any problems but once you do they're near impossible to deal with. The first technical support centre you speak to barely speak any english and mostly try to fob you off. For example when I phoned to complain about my poor broadband speed on my 76mb/s fibre line I was told that it was perfectly acceptable to be receiving only 0.5mb/s download speed. After arguing this wasn't what I was paying for the woman wouldn't back down. I eventually gave up and phoned customer complaints, at which point I finally got someone who could speak english and sorted the problem. The next problem involved us not being able to access the internet, 4 days of no connection later we are no further forward with the absolute worst customer service department in the world. Honestly go to plus net, they're the same price and us UK call centres.

Don't you dare join these incompetent low life scums, do your self a favour and avoid like the plague, I remember dial up and that service is better than talk talks, wish this company would curl up and die, had nothing but problems with them, speeds are crap, customer support is like banging your head against a brick wall, the broadbands always disconnecting...cant really call it broadband, and then they have cheek to bill you on days that you have lost connection, non sympathetic service, why this company is still operating is beyond me..

Broadband connection was fine howeve there customer service team in India is without doubt the worst I have ever came across.

I called to in May giving the required notice of 1 month as I was leaving the property in June. To my surprise I then received a bill on 10th July trying to charge me for the following the month.

Calling through the call centre is a horrid experience. They claimed I had never called to cancel , basically calling me a liar , and that the only record they have of me calling is in April (I had never called them in April , or infact at all prior to May).

After being passed to 4 separate people and having to repeat the issue AND customer details every single time it was finally cancelled. This took approximately 2 hours.

They claim the account is now cancelled and no further charges will be applied. I am not holding out much hope that this is infact the case......

Seriously stick with Virgin/Sky/BT. Its not worth the hassle.

Terrible, how on earth can they claim to be Britain's favourite choice!!! Terrible connection speeds, always dropping out, customer services are about as useful as a chocolate tea pot. We had problems from day one, and despite jobs being logged to try and fix TV/broadband with a service engineer, no-one ever showed up and the jobs were closed as completed. I gave then 2 weeks to fix the issues, they did not and I cancelled my contract. I had to fight to get them to waive the cancellation fee, which they eventually did. DO NOT USE!!!!!

Just had a blazing row with Talktalk. They took over Pipex for our business phone. Said we need do nothing. Next thing they've cut the phone off saying we haven't paid. We see the money still going out to pipex. spend over two separate hours getting pushed around from pillar to post. Phone put down us . Out of sheer frustration changed supplier - now they are trying to charge us £300 cancellation fee. Notice they've been red hod in chasing that up though.

I’ve never complained in my life. BUT I’m utterly shocked at this “service” been with talk talk for 6 weeks. Not had a single day of internet. I’ve had 2 engineers out who left not fixing the problem. I have been on the phone to them for literally 8.5 hours repeating the exact problem to different agents. I’ve been assigned a “dedicated agent to fix the issue” told to wait another 72 hours... call them back and they closed my case saying it’s fixed. Mean while they are still taking my money and haven’t refunded me or fixed the issue.

Like many people do, I was looking for the best online deal so I went through Uswitch and was forwarded to Talktalk.

I enter personal information, bank details, order details to Talktalk.
I receive e-mail confirmation FROM @talktalk, with order number confirmation.

However, contract length is wrong on e-mail confirmation. So I decide to call up Talktalk helpline, who are polite - BUT, this is where it goes awry - no details exist on their systems about me....zero.

Please help me find my details Talktalk. Where are my bank/personal details that I gave to you. Why are they not on your system anywhere and why is there no reasonable explanation as to why?

I can't even cancel my order/account with them because I do not exist on their system. BUT if i try and make another order through their phone sales team they can see a pending order in the system......

All confusion and no answers. I've been told to contact Uswitch. Great solution Talktalk (!)

I signed up TalkTalk at the beginning of December 2014, my first engineers appointment was cancelled so I had to wait almost 4 weeks to for the engineer to come to get my fibre optic broadband connected.
I signed up to the 38MB package and I have been lucky to get 6MB on a good day, most evening I get about 2MB - sometimes I cant even watch Netflix or BBCiPlayer because its so slow.
Ever since I signed in December my Broadband would cut out for hours and sometimes even days - I called up and complained and it took them 3 weeks to fix it - so I had no broadband for 3 weeks - upon fixing the problem I found out my landline hadnt been working since day one! Good thing I dont rely on my landline. And to rub salt in the wound they have sent me my bill for this month and I have to pay it or I will get charged/fined £10 - and I can only apply for compensation once the problem is fixed - they say the issue/fault is still on going.... still waiting...

They set up 2 direct debits with my bank. Luckily I noticed this and cancelled them. They offered me 3 months free if I don't report them to ofcom and not cancel my order. I agreed to this. Got my bill today no 3 months free and they say they never offered me the 3 months in the first place. I am disabled and feel like I've been scammed.

Having been with Talk Talk for quite a few years with no problems I was happy with the service I was receiving. The broadband worked and the billing was fine. People had warned me however to be careful with them because when it goes wrong, it goes very wrong. I smugly didn't believe them as I was paying a pound less than them for a working service.

All I can say is when it does go wrong it goes about as wrong as I have ever seen anything go.

Basically my broadband kept cutting out.

The call centre staff in India or wherever aren't native English speakers and every time you call in you have to explain everything from the beginning again. This gets pretty frustrating.
They sneak things onto your bill, my last bill was for £148.00 for just the broadband.
They've been trying to resolve my fault now for nearly 9 months, they fix it every third day and then it breaks again the day after, starting the process again.

I've dealt with some pretty incompetent companies in my time but Talk Talk take it to a new level.

If you are with them I would suggest swap them as soon as you can, don't suffer my pain when it goes wrong. It will !

If you are thinking of using them as your provider, just don't. They really are shockingly bad.

DO NOT USE TALK TALK. Boycott them until they are able to fix their issues instead of taking money from people. They provide a below than average wifi. Very intermitten and slower than my grandmas ability to learn how to use the darn thing! I have used talk talk up in Scotland and way down in the south of England. The wifi didn't not suffice both locations. STAY AWAY FROM THE EVIL AND DO NOT I REPEATE USE TALK TALK.

The customer service provided by TalkTalk is appalling and their billing service is not fit for purpose. On TWO separate occasions, additional payments made online have been allocated by the system to an account which was closed years ago. This resulted in my mobile being disconnected despite the payments being made. TalkTalk have done nothing to resolve this problem. Absolute shambles!!

Trust me: Do NOT use TalkTalk. Very poor service. Very poor customer service. Very impolite staff.

We just moved to the UK and didn't know how awful TalkTalk is. We ordered an Internet package, and TalkTalk told us that we need to wait almost 3 weeks to have the engineer at our house. ThalkTalk set the appointment at 1 pm to 6pm on a day, for 3 weeks later, and we were told that we need to stay home because the engineer would come here to sort out the internet. They said that the procedure would take about an hour. Therefore, I did not go to work and staid home on that day. I received a message at 11:41 saying: "Your engineer is on the way, so please don't go anywhere. Your service will be up and running soon.". This message included a mobile number. I stayed home, but nobody showed up. At almost 4pm, I sent a message to phone number to let them know that I were looking forward to seeing the engineer. But they didn't answer. I called the mobile number several times, but they didn't answer. Afterwards, I called the phone number that I found on the website of TalkTalk. They said that I need to wait. The time was almost 5pm.

This time, I went to the website of TalkTalk and made conversations on the chat. They assured me that I need to stay home because it was not still 6 pm. I staid home, but nobody showed up. I again made a conversation on the chat, and the person said that I need to wait again and call them in one hour. I asked the manager's direct phone number, but she didn't answer the right number. They gave me a regular phone number. I called the phone number after 6 pm, and the person answered me that their system is not working, and I need to call them in two or three hours in order to say what is going on. Then, I asked her to connect me to the manager, and she did. But, nobody answered. Again I called, but nobody answered me the right information. They just said to me that their system is not working and they cannot connect me to the manager, and they cannot answer me why nobody showed up. Very rude, very impolite customer support without any help.

I didn't go to work for nothing, and I had not eaten anything because I have had to stay home with a lot of pressure. Can you imagine that such rude persons didn't care about anything just money.

I really need to know, why they asked me to stay home, because they wanted to set up the internet. Why they sent me message to stay home? Why nobody came to my home to set up the internet? Why they don't answer me what is going on? Why they are such rude?

Afterwards, I found the email address of their CEO, and contacted them. The day after, they sent the engineer. He came here and said that the Internet will be OK in 10 minutes and immediately went out without any explanation. I staid two days and the Internet was not connected, calling them several times. TalkTalk does not care about you, they just care about the money.

I cancelled my contract with TalkTalk. I then ordered Virgin Media. Such nice Virgin Media. Very good service, polite and supportive staff working in Virgin Media.

Talktalk has terrible customer service. I gave up after 10 phonecalls, I have tried to explain them that I want Fiber 65 for 18month contract, gues what!? I have ended up with fiber 35 for 24months. I have noticed that on the bill after 30 days.... No point talking to them, waste of time, for your own sake please stay away from talktalk.

Like someone before me said - talk talk deserves no stars. Telephone line modems 15 years ago were more reliable and faster than this piece of crap. My connection is working all the time apart from some of yours...but it is "working" if you know what i mean. I always checking ping by -tracert command which is best way to see what is accualy happening. Almost everytime tho, i see connection to router - ping like 500 to 1000 (should be 1) so at the end ping is something about 2100-3000 (my record is accualy 7100). Even if i have ping "1" to router(which is reeeeaaaaaaly rare) it tends to jump to 300 with no reason. Usually i cant even browse sites, takes ages to view even simple pictures from auction on ebay and watching movies in lowest quality on youtube is something that i can only dream about...I can describe this service in 3 simple words: FRUSTRATION, INCOMPETENCE, WORST THING SOMEONE EVER MADE (well this is accualy 7 words but you get the point right?). Everybody - keep away from talktalk. Someone should do something about it, because it is legal cheating to people.

The only good thing was Customer Service, which I think is a little surprising... they weren't better than BT and my standards are low, though. The engineers are good, and so far have been free, that's about it.

Broadband is slow as ever. They had it capped at 10 until I actually came home from Uni and called them up and they released it. My parents had no idea. So they were basically scammed for more than half a year.

It's not reliable, cuts out every five to ten minutes, and the router they provide is awful, too. I had to buy a different one that will hopefully be better than the god awful "Superhub" they offer, which doesn't even have 5GHz functionality.

Overall, 1 star, purely because all I use is the broadband and that's been god awful.

First time I signed with them things were decent(with wi-fi drops pretty constant). After I changed address they started acting incompetent. From the booking, in which they misjudged me not needing an engineer, after which they kept going with it for almost a month(postponing).
Since almost 2 months ago I have to pay extra money out of my pocket to get extra data so I can hotspot, I get about 15-20 minutes of the WORST Wi-Fi you can get, after which I need to go back to hotspot.
They are utterly useless and unreliable and such a pain
to deal with. Please, stay away.
Lost so much more extra time and money because of them.

They had turned my Internet off saying the are fixing the issue. So I am paying £28 monthly and most of the days get no Internet. Do not trust talk talk will be changing soon

Stay away of this company, everything they promise is lies.
The broadband they advertising is not unlimited, when you watch few more videos on YouTube, they slow down you speed to minimum, or stopping the internet access for few hours or sometime for whole days.on the end i wanted to cancel my account, its impossible to cancel your account, as when i trying to contact them, and they hear i want to cancel my account, they just hang on the phone, or make me to wait on the chat system 30-40 minutes without success, and on the end i should stop my direct debit.
After canceling the account they still send me huge bill to pay, so read reviews before purchasing talktalk services, you won't save money with them, and you will get big troubles.
    Stay away, stay away
