DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE !! I recently moved to Talktalk and am deeply regretting it. Installation guy was 3.5 hours late and when he left the phone was not working and half the TV channels are missing. Today is my 3rd attempt to contact the service centre. On the 1st 2 attempts I hung up after 15 mins. So far today I have been on hold for 22mins. Going back to Virgin Media asap

Shocking! The engineer was a week late in setting it up.It ran at a maximum of about 0.4 MB’s per second, and not even two weeks into my service my broadband was cut off for no reason and no warning. I got an email saying that a third party company informed them that I wanted to cancel my subscription. I rang up about it and after a two hour phone call where I had to set up my account and subscription again with someone who I couldn’t understand and they couldn’t understand me, I had to wait another two weeks ‘maximum’ for an engineer to come set up again. I’m a student and I need the internet for my assignments and my TV. The two weeks have passed and no sign of the engineer. Absolute disgrace. No regard for their customers. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

I have been a TalkTalk customer for 6-7 years when they only dealt in broadband and phone. I was very happy with their service and recommended them to all.. unfortunately since the company has branched out I have had nothing but problems with my broadband. I am continuously calling their customer service team just to go through the same rigmarole over & over again, being asked to unscrew electrical sockets should not be advised!!. I am now on my 3rd new rooter, again the rooter was blamed. When I first became a TalkTalk customer there was no such contracts. So when my broadband stopped working after all those years I contacted their customer support team. I was told "it will be your rooter its an old one, I can send you a new one out but you will be charged for it" I then told them not to bother I will go elsewhere, I was so annoyed due to the length of time I had been a loyal customer and the fact that what they were actually implying is that if I wanted to stay with them I had to pay for the privilege!. I was then told "oh no it's ok I can get around it and send you one for nothing I'll just put you on a contact for, I believe to be 12/18 months. I was silly and agreed. But afterwards I thought to myself 'have I just been blackmailed?' If I wanted them to sort out the fault with my broadband I had to agree to a contract! The first rooter they sent only lasted 1 week before I in-counted the same problems connecting to the internet. I again contacted them. An engineer was booked for 3 days later. However I was told if its not their fault I will be charged. Again the new, much faster modern rooter' ( as told by the adviser) was blamed and was I was given my 3rd new rooter. All went well for approximately 6 weeks, after which the same problems occurred. All I want to do now is cancel my contract with TalkTalk and switch to a more competent provider . I Would no longer recommend TalkTalk like I used to and am sorry my daughter took my recommendation who is also having problems.

A truly dreadful company: poor connection speeds, extremely unreliable wifi (drops out on various devices, regardless of distance to router and number of devices connected), inconsistent billing, and the most incompetent outsourced customer service lines Ive ever experienced.
Please just avoid.

Rubbish. Have to constantly turn router on and off to try and get Internet. I'm lucky if I get 10 minutes of uninterrupted broadband (at any time of day) customer service is a non existing commodity. I'm sure if there was an option for a no star rating talk talk would sit there top of the gold medal table with most 0* ratings.

Well after looking on here there appears to be an awful lot of people having problems in 2022 alone! We switched providers after a shockingly low fibre speed (sometimes was only capable of running one device)and we got the same out "brush off"as others have. We then changed providers and now we're being chased by a debt collection agency. Numerous emails going back and forth and getting nowhere! STAY AWAY!

Been with talk talk for six months now. Never had such unreliable broadband. Don't bother with these. You will spend hours on phone to customer services with advisors who really have no idea and you cannot understand them as they will be from mumbai. Can't wait for the contract to end ! I'm leaving as soon as possible!! Save your money !

I ignored the warnings signs.
We've moved around a lot and used TalkTalk at our last 3 properties, but gradually the service we've received has gone from poor to unusable. Having been promised that the speed wouldn't drop below 2 Mbps, we've been checking and it rarely goes above 1 Mbps. On contacting Customer Services we are directed to an automated system that sends us text message updates as it runs checks, which is good.
But, having failed to solve the problem we then must speak to actual people and are transferred around an India-based call centre. After repeating ourselves to every TalkTalk operator, we finally speak with a poorly trained "Technical Adviser" who runs some more checks and then becomes convinced that the problem is the microfilters. When challenged on this conclusion (you'll need to trust me now, it definitely wasn't the microfilters) they offer to send out an engineer for an extra charge of £60. Alternatively, if you then wanted to cancel your contract, because TalkTalk have failed to provide the minimum agreed service, they will try to charge you a £50 cancellation fee. How are service providers operating in the UK allowed to offer such a poor service?
Avoid using TalkTalk at all costs.

The issue that I have experienced was: I made an order on 07/09/2018 for tv and broadband, this required a £50 upfront payment which I paid. Then the following day, 08/09/2018, I received an email and sms stating that there was a problem with my order but it was being solved. I found this a very strange thing to say to a customer if there is nothing I can do about it why even tell me? And there was no problem taking £50 from me! So I phoned to see what was going on to be told that the reason the order was not proceeding was because of an old landline number I had asked to be transferred over to my TalkTalk account. The only reason I provided this old landline number was because I was ASKED TO, I do not even use the landline so I could not care less for it I only put the number in because TalkTalk ASKED ME TO. The woman apologised and put me through to yet another advisor, saying that they would start a fresh order but that I was not to worry the £50 upfront payment would be transferred to the new order and I would not have to pay any other upfront costs. This turned out to be a lie as the advisor said that I WOULD have to pay another upfront cost but that the money would be refunded to me within 24 HOURS!!! ANOTHER LIE!!! Because I was then put through to another advisor! Who said it would be 10 DAYS!!!!! At this point I am absolutely furious but willing to give them another chance only because it saves myself the hassle of having to go through all of this with another provider; and given the fact TalkTalk now has £100 of MY money, I’ll be making sure I get it back before I even think of going elsewhere. So at this point I have been promised a £50 refund within 10 days and also the service (tv and broadband) I had paid for in the first place. But I get an email saying my REQUEST for a refund has been rejected! I did not request anything I demanded my money back simple as that it is my money that I am owed! So now I have decided to cancel the full order and now want my full £100 returned to me, having to phone and speak to yet another series of clueless advisors not even based on the UK (very stressful when your angry enough as it is and nobody can understand you) I was promised that the £100 had been sent back to my debit card the one they took the money from in the first place which I obviously have the bank statements to prove, for me to get yet another email saying my REQUEST for a £100 refund was rejected!!!! So I once again have to phone this ridiculous joke of a company, for a manager named Mario to say he has now successfully processed a request for my £100 to be refunded to me via cheque, as clearly there is some sort of problem for TalkTalk to put my money back into the account they seemed to be able to take it out of no problem.. but yet again the next day another email saying this has been rejected, I phone and have to speak to the most rude arrogant woman who was talking over me shouting as if she had any right to be frustrated when I’m the one being blatantly robbed! I have received no service from TalkTalk and have given £100 of my money for NOTHING! I’m the one who should be angry!! This extremely unprofessional woman ended the call by promising the £100 had been returned to me via my debit card even though I repeatedly explained I want it via cheque, she literally talked over me and ignored me when I was saying this and eventually hung up on me, I recorded her promising that she had sent the money to me, I then get a call to say this was rejected as £50 has already been refunded to me, even though my bank statement and the advisors from my bank have clearly says otherwise! The 2 most recent transactions on my bank statement are ME giving TalkTalk two seperate £50 payments!! The woman became very rude demanding I take this up with my bank who have already told me it is not their responsibility to refund money that TalkTalk owe me, which is understandable considering TalkTalk have £100 belonging to me and my bank don’t! At least 8 TalkTalk advisors and managers tried to pull that one “try claim the money back from your bank” obviously what their employers tell them to say in the hope that customer’s banks will give them the money back so TalkTalk can keep what they have stolen!
As TalkTalk are insisting they have sent £50 to me which can take 7 days, I have no choice but to wait 7 days to see if it has been sent or not, and have just came off the phone with another advisor Rhea who says she has worked for TalkTalk for 2 years and can absolutely garuntee that she has “successfully” sent the remaining £50 back to my debit card, meaning they do not owe me any money, even though neither of these £50 payments have went into my bank, which is odd because they managed to take the payments from me within seconds but when it comes to them giving people their money it’s a big hassle. Lie after lie from this absolute joke of a company, I haven’t just last minute decided to change my mind about going with TalkTalk and therefore inconvenience and disrupt the service TalkTalk were trying to provide.. this was a series of mistakes on their part which ultimately lead to me having no choice but to demand my full refund and I’ll go elsewhere for tv and broadband. I’m 36 weeks pregnant and in the middle of moving into my new house and for days now I’ve been in tears of frustration and being sent round in circles about all of this, I should not have been overcharged in the first place and none of this would have happened if the advisors would have got things right and not each told me lies I would have been more than willing to continue my order with TalkTalk and have them as my tv and broadband provider. as i have already stated I did give them 3 or 4 chances to make this situation right but when I have advisors on the phone telling me one thing and then getting emails completely contradicting this, I can’t help but not trust this company there’s no way after all this I am going to want an 18 month contract with them. Will be recommending all family and friends avoid this company, reviews are shocking aswell I’m very surprised this company is still in business. If my money is not in my bank within 7 days, I will be forced to have my lawyer take this further as there’s no way I’m letting a company of this size and wealth blatantly steal £100 from me, someone they have done nothing for in return, I don’t even have the tv or broadband I literally owe them nothing!!!

I LOATH TALKTALK!
I have never came cross such a horrible service in my life. I absolutely regret being with talktalk. I don't have words to explain my frustration right now but I am really very angry and irritated. I am not usually very unpleasant and unfriendly as a person but these guys made me shake with anger. So, Where do I start,
On 4/5 June,my house mate made a complaint about the internet (Before I did ring them loads of times but they managed to sweet-talk me). He almost managed to prove his point about horrible speed and asked the consultant on phone to transfer the call to disconnection department. And that's it, phone got CUT! Then on 29 June I again called them and explained everything and they said they are very sorry for the service and they want one last chance to make amends. They said they will send an engineer to have a look. I being very naive, fell into the nonsense. The engineer was available only after 11 days so I asked them to confirm the booking for 10 July. On 10 July, as expected (Now), no one turned up, no engineer nothing. So I called them again today on 08 number. I was angry and irritated already but I thought I should give them one more chance to explain. I was talking to the manager who asked me to do loads of things with modem and laptop like 'switch this on' and 'un-wire this' and that. Finally he asked me to open this site on browser to check the speed of my interent and you guys will be shocked to know that I was getting 0.55 mbps speed!!! I am suppose to get 9.5-12 mbps and I was getting 0.55 (I still can't believe it) anyway he obviously understood my frustration and said let me make notes of your case and transfer you to the cancellation department and guess what?? The call got disconnected again!!! No no no... now I lost it, I lost it completely and I called them again and almost shouted at them to connect me to the disconnection department. Now at that department which was suppose to be called as some 'Costumer retention department (Biggest irony ever!)'Some guy was talking in very indifferent tone as if he gives a damn about customers. I was super angry and was shouting and shaking on phone and he was like 'we can cancel your contract but you will have to pay 45 pounds.' Trust me when I say this, I couldn't believe my ears, 43 POUNDS!!!! What for???? but he kept on going on and on and on and I was so fade-up that I told him to cancel the bloody thing and put me out of my pain. I also told him that I will think that I did some charity because talktalk is so pathetic that it needs some charity to improve. Its like a diseased service. Now that is my story. So if you want to go for talktalk. go ahead but remember they are diseased company and will give you only pain and disappointment.
This experience also made me think. Why should we put up this crap? Why should we give our hard earned money to such companies? Is there no way I can get justice? Is there no way I can get compensation? I was getting 0.55 mbps and was paying for 9.5 mbps for 6 months. We all see there is some injustice, then what do I do? Because I don't believe in getting mad, I believe in getting even. and I want to get EVEN!
Please help if anyone can. and please lets not just write these bad experiences, lets do something about it!!

ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A COMPANY! Been waiting nearly 2 months for WiFi to come through! Booked for an engineer to come out at the beginning of October, who didn’t show up! Phoned talk talk to ask why this had happened and there response was that they had cancelled our contract without informing us! During this 2 month period they had cancelled our contract TWICE without letting us know why. I then phoned them asking why they cancelled and no one could give a reason why. All they did was read out the email that I had apparently received from them instead of answering my countless questions! Then tried setting up a contract with them for the third time (third time lucky and all that) all went through fine, the guy in the phone reassured us that the shimmer would be out on time and that there would be no Moreno problems with them. LIES!!! As some self reassurance, thought I would call talk talk to make sure the delivery was coming out today, for them to them tell me that there is some ‘open activity’ that is still yet to be completed before they can send an engineer out! It’s highly frustrating that I have had to be the one to phone them to actually find out anything instead of them contacting us! The worst customer service I have come across, a very unapologetic team who seem like they don’t know what they are talking about! Definitely going to cancel my order with them now! would not recommend them to anybody! Absolutely shocking!!

As others on here have said ,this company is a nightmare- dedicated to extortion. I contacted them in Jan 2014 to say I wanted to leave because of the appalling broadband speeds and other problems. They begged me to stay promising an 18 month special price deal of £15.00 because of 'my loyalty and to keep my business'.Against my better judgement I agreed but after 11 months I noticed that my bill had increased by £5 per month. I contacted them to say that the deal was for £15 not £20 but they said they could charge whatever they liked provided they gave notice of an increase. They gave no such notice and still have not provided evidence that they did despite numerous requests to do so. I refused to pay the increase and gave them a month's notice of my intention to quit on the grounds that THEY broke the 'contract' and not me. Since then they have tried to charge me for the remaining 5 months of the deal and have now put their demand in the hands of a debt collector - the first time in my life I have ever had such a threat. I will not pay them a penny and they can try to do their worst even if we all end up in court for the sake of £75. Abominable, outrageous, intimidatory and probably illegal stance from them and as others have said the regulator is entirely useless.

broadband was shoddy at best but put up with the indian call centres and endlessly being told to reset the router etc...
but was not to worried as was moving soon
so cancelled contract, paid all fees at the time as i didnt want credit problems.
ultimate piss take was that 2 years later at our new address we started getting letters from a debt collection agency for - yes unpaid cancellation fees. this useless shower of a company is not capable of keeping customer data safe, has the worst service ever, and are not fit to be in business.
in summary a cabbage from your supermarket veg stall would run this company better.

If you have reliable broadband, keep it, do not join Talktalk, Internet connection stops, starts, stops, starts and then stops for 2days,spend an hour to Talktalk India who say no fault on line, engineer changed adsl socket, fixed for a week now back to no connection, connected, not connected same recurring problem etc, this with a wired connection and speed halved. Cannot shop online as Internet will cut out at any point. Just awful
Please don't join a Talktalk contract.

I verbally subscribed to Talk Talk on the 31st September 2022 to two cold callers at my door. I was unsure and was late for an appointment, but was persuaded to subscribe when I was told I had 20 days to cancel. ( naively),I tried cancelling later that same day but couldn’t as they said they couldn’t find my contract. I tried and failed the next two days. By Tuesday 4 October I received a welcome pack from them with an order number. I tried ringing to cancel but was transferred eight times. One of these was customer services. I was told he was unable to help me and said it would affect my credit rating if I was to cancel any subsequent standing order. (which has not yet been set up.) I eventually did get through to someone who said he had arranged for it to be cancelled but he also told me not to cancel any standing order. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had and it appears to be bordering on the criminal. I would advise anyone thinking of signing up to doorstep callers, (or anyone else for that matter), from Talk Talk, not to.
If I could give no stars I would.

My name is Melek and I am 89 years old, this message is being written by my grandson, I would like to let everyone know that Talk Talk is stealing money from me. I pay them 50 pounds a month for phone and Internet and the phone is bad and the Internet doesn't work. They have stolen from me before also and apologied for it and are still doing it again. My grandson has called them many times (Talk Talk has recorded phone lines to confirm this) and yet they say they will call back to discuss it and they never do. They have now taken 150 pounds from me in the last three months without providing me with the service I paid for. All I am getting is a noisy phone line and Internet speeds of 1.5mbs which cuts on and off every 2 mins. Please please do not use Talk Talk as a provider and if someone can help me I would appreciate it. Thank you.

TALKTALK is full of ****, don't you ever place an order with them. So a week ago I placed an order with them for a fibre optic broadband, I received a confirmation email and all looked good. Then next day they cancelled and they said they don't support fibre optic in y area, they asked me to place a new order, so I spoke to some one and tried to place a new order and he said they do support fibre optic at my area so I placed the order again and now the installation date has been moved forward! then next day again the same thing happens they cancelled my order for the same reason (they don't support fibre optic at my area, which they said twice that they do when I was placing my order). Spoke to them again and they asked me to place a normal broadband which I did again, and after three days of my order they cancelled my THIRD order again stating that the TV failed (thjs time they found another reason) and they asking me to place a new order. I mean seriously if they can't even take an order how this guys going to setup my broadband.

TalkTalk is the biggest **** in all United Kingdom, don't ever make a contract with them, it is literarly pure cancer. Internet keeps falling, MOVING HOUSE PROCESS TAKES 2 WEEKS, and while they tell you in your contract you are guaranteed 50mbs download speed at least it doesn't even offer 30mbs. Not only that, the live chat and customer service ARRE USELESS. Literarly the worst live chat and staff ppl who can't deal with anything, literarly utter ****.

If anyone planning to get Talk Talk broadband, just be smart and DON’T. It’s worst Broadband provider out of all. Once you sing the contract, that’s it you’ll end up paying for no service at all and you won’t be able to cancel it, they will never send you a technician, you’ll end up being stuck with them and if you stop paying them, they will threat you with debt collection agencies. Spent hours on the phone trying to solve the problem about magically price going up. This all went to CISAS. DON’T get Talk Talk, you’ve been warned

Absolutely dreadful service, since I've signed up for Fibre broadband, I've had to call and log slow broadband 5 times, this averages a call every 2 - 3 months. Even when they fix it, it's still only 50% of the advertised speed. The Customer Service is generally DREADFUL and to cap it off they repeatedly lose their customers data to hackers, resulting being inundated by fraudulent callers who try to rip you off with your personal details they gained from the mass hacks of the TalkTalk customer database! Do they apologise? Or even try to make amends? Not on your nelly mate! I wish I'd never heard of blooming TalkTalk!
AVOID!

If I could have put no stars I would have. Absolutely shocking customer service and broadband. For 6 week's I was paying for a service I wasn't recieving as the broadband just went off one day and wouldn't come back on. Everytime an engineer was supposed to come out, nobody turned up. In the end I left them and have for the past 6 month's had them sending me letters for payments out despite me not owing them a penny. Today I was contacted by a debt collection agency on behalf of TalkTalk for a 'late payment fee' that never existed. I have never been in debt. So not only have they made up a debt that has never existed but they have affected my credit rating and had debt collectors contact me and there response was 'mistakes happen'. Maybe once, but not several time TalkTalk! Avoid!

I find it impossible to deal with these people, after complaining about my extreamly slow speed (1.95 bps) ,they keep saying theres nothing wrong with my connection. They have sent me a new router,no differance. There communicating skillls are non exsistant. I have still got 8 months on my contract, otherwise i'd be away from them like a shot.

Worst company ever. I found out by chance they owe me a refund since 2017 (of course, because why would they make is easy and refund automatically?) and I can't get them to refund it to me without calling expensive numbers to talk to someone. I've been told thay would call me back but never did. Meanwhile they keep my money!!! CROOKS!!!

Talktalk is the worst provider yet. 2 weeks now I have had no Internet. Called the customer services to report and after being on hold for 2 hrs the manager hang up on me. No one has since got in touch and to believe I am paying for a service so mediocre and belittling. They should be taken out of business, and to think I still am paying for the contract that is ridiculous. They refuse to let me out the contract when they cant provide me with the agreement of the contract. No one should have to face this. Everyone should speak out get them gone.

Talk Talk is an utter disgrace. We have had no internet for 3 weeks now. we have been in contact with 5 different people, we have had 3 new routers sent, none work. and then now we have been told that our service has been stopped 2 weeks ago for NO REASON, even though we spoke to someone else today and they did not tell us this. They have stopped our contract for no reason and they are now saying they can't restart it for another 8 days, but they are happily taking our money even though we apparently have no service with them, even they don't understand why our service has been stopped and are looking into it?. It has been the most frustrating experience ever, i am appalled.

Absolute joke of a company.
I have been with Talk Talk for years now. My first contract with them seemed to be a good value for the money and I was happy with this. Once my contract came to an end, my bill doubled in price. I would have been happy with this if the service provided was actually decent, but their internet connection was pathetic, so much so that I couldn’t even connect to it when upstairs in my small home.
I decided to switch broadband providers and began the unnecessarily long process of cancelling TalkTalk.
After googling their cancellation process, all seemed pretty straightforward as I was not in a contract with them. I was WRONG.
I first rang in May to do this and was unimpressed when I was told I would have to wait 30days for it to go through and therefore would have to pay an extra month- not what is suggested online.
I let them know I was unhappy about this and was told I’d be contacted on a given day at a given time.
I waited for their call but they failed to stick by their own date and times and unfortunately I missed them.
I was then contacted about my complaint regarding the cancellation but I had no interest in following through as I just wanted to get out.
Fast forward a few months and my TalkTalk account is still active and bills are piling up?? I rang again to sort this out and was on call for nearly 2hrs and spoke to 3 separate individuals.
The first member of staff listened to my issues and reviewed my account, telling me she could see that I hadn’t been actively using their service for so many months and that these bills would be removed which I was very appreciative of.
Next member of staff was to cancel my account (again.) he put this through fairly easy and from this I was aware that I had to pay 2 bills for both times I’ve tried to cancel. I wasn’t 100% with this but just wanted to be done.
3rd member of staff then informed me that my outstanding bill was just over £200.
I was not happy at all with this. To be passed from one person to the next and be told different things when all I wanted to do was cancel my account.
They are so unclear with how it works and it would seem that your outcome depends on which customer service rep you speak to as they all are using different rules.
0/10 experience with a useless, greedy company

The single worst customer service and broadband service I have ever received.
After complaining profusely about the strength of signal around a fairly small one bedroom apartment and several visits from engineers I was advised that for better service to upgrade to the Faster Fibre option as I had been getting drop outs consistently, and very very low speeds - 0.5 - 1gb/s. We argued hard and felt we were well deserving of a contract break due to the lack of agreed service. We were offered a new deal! Fast fibre broadband with speeds of ATLEAST 32.5 gb/s and here I am posting this review at 5gb/s. After complaining yet again I am stuck in the process of many engineer visits and arguments but I will, with every ounce of spirit I have be rid of this menace to my work and gaming life alike, please heed my advice go with Virgin.
