I don't get angry or frustrated a lot, but the unreliability of this service kind of tops it. Worse ISP I have ever encountered my 3G connection is faster let's not even compare it with my 4g.

Reading the terrible reviews of this service kind of makes me smile, at least I'm not alone. I don't even want to contact this terrible company I can only imagine their customer service being just as bad.

I just wanted to give my honest opinion of this service. Truly is the worst. Very unreliable connection, the type of connection that makes you want to go into the TalkTalk servers across the UK and ram each and every one of the useless people wits the biggest dildo I can find until they die.

DO NOT even consider subscribing to talk talk whether it is for personal - or especially if it's for business.

They are dire on so many levels - to start with, the speed test reports 0.52 Mbps and the smart TV cannot cope to play a standard (non-HD) video.

    PATHETIC!

I have been with talk talk for a good 4 years now, I have broadband, telephone and tv through them. Recently have had endless problems with the Sky channels and all other internet channels, so I contacted them and went through all the diagnostic testing etc... What is very frustrating is speaking to someone whose English is poor, who reads from a script on their computer and who are very unhelpful! After doing all the diagnostic tests, it finally started to work, however it has started again where the tv freezes or keeps losing connection. So I decided to move to Sky. The next day, after giving talktalk my months notice, everything stopped working. I am having to keep resetting the router and power line adaptors... I don't know if it is possible for them to mess your connections like this but I cannot be bothered to call them again as I will lose my patience speaking to someone who clearly does not live in the UK. Also, when the cyber attack took place I cancelled my direct debit as I was worried by details had been stolen, talktalk had the cheek to tell me that I must pay non- direct debit fees! Even though they had a cyber attack they still expect me to let them hold onto my bank details. Talktalk is the worst for being a internet provider, customer service, and you can spend up to 1 hour on hold to try and speak to a person whose English is poor. Talktalk do not deserve a rating.

I called up talk talk about a month ago to upgrade from fibre medium to fibre large, they said that it would take two weeks and the price would go up by £5 but there would be no cost to change as I have been with Talk Talk for along time, I was also told that I would receive atleast 55mbps down and 15 up, I was then transferred to the tech team and the informed me of the same but said it would be completed within 5-7 days. So a week rolls by and no change in speed still the same 32down and 5 up, 2weeks roll by and nothing, I then wait another week and a half and call them up. They first of all ask me to check the connection wirelessly and then turn the wireless off and do it wired. As I do not have any wireless devices at the time I do both tests wired and inform the rep of this. I had also informed them that before calling them I turned the router off for 30 minutes and tried it but the speed remained the same. After all the tests were completed the person on the phone told me that the problem was with my wireless connection and that they would need to send round an engineer that would cost me. I inform them that as an ICT technician I know there is no problem with the wireless and this is not the issue. After being told that a manager was not available and that the manager would tell us the same thing as the test is very comprehensive, I demand further and get placed on hold for 30 minutes, The manager comes on and I explain the issue, After a 20 minute conversation I am informed that my line cannot support any speed over 35mbps down and 7 up, which means first of all the lied when I initially requested an upgrade and that they were charging me £5 extra for a service they could not provide as I was limited to the line quality and distance. This means that when I called in to complain they must have realized the mistake and rather than own up they said it was an internal issue that would be chargeable to me, Meaning that they where attempting to punish me for uncovering their mistake. I have cancelled fibre large and gone back to fibre medium and told them to refund the money that they taken for the first month. When I lodged the complaint the loyalty department did not listen and upon relaying what they told me it became apparent because they said that its only an estimated speed, and only after you get it can we determine your actual top speed. I insisted that if that was the case why did they not get in touch with me after I had fibre large and tell me that I would save money going back to medium as the line speed was limited. Talk talks service is very poor and all they want is more money, and when they make a mistake they try to charge you for it.

Talk Talk have the art of fobbing off mastered to a tee! We have suffered them for two years with a promised 40mbps but got 12mbps and cutting out. They simply refused to appoint Open Reach to fix the issues. Awful company and riddled with incompetence. We are now with SKY who were unable to connect us due to the state of the junction box in the village. They immediately called out Open Reach to fix it and now we have 27mbps so a lot better. They have promised to improve on that and also I have been able to update to windows 10 due to the reliable connection but not before. I am so pleased they are out of our lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not good service at all. We had trouble with the broadband connection all the way through with the TalkTalk. From last week there is no Internet connection in the house. Informed the customer service team several times a week on still there is no help. Won't recommend them to anyone. I have informed them about my daughter is in great distress as she is starting her exams and she can't prepare because the Internet is not available. Everytime they say to you that they will do everything to help but don't even want to help. Terrible service...!!

Terrible service! Terrible experience! I have had problems with talk talk since I started using their services. It isn't a transparent company at all! I cancelled my services with them a 4 months later I am still being charge for a service I wasn't using (and I couldn't as it was cancelled). It is quite unacceptable.

First, it took a month to get internet working despite being paying. At the end of the contract, they charged us one month extra after we managed to cancel the contract and argued that the system bills "in advance" automatically. There is no way to contact the customer service to cancel your contract and when you finally do (through another provider) they keep invoicing you well after the service has been interrupted. Avoid them!

I just recently joined TT bcs I found them cheap, after my internet got activated I realised the internet I ordered was 4mb download speed, so I phoned them immediately and upgraded to the fibre bb and I was promised with minimum 30-40mbps. What people need to be careful is on their welcome letter under the "change your mind" heading it says "you can cancel any time up to 20 days after we accept your order and you may have to pay any costs incurred up to the time you cancel". So when I phoned them to cancel the contract TT said the 20 days has been expired and if you wants to terminate your contract it would cost £ 442. What we don't realise is that it's not from the date your internet goes live, it's from the day you click the button when you bought the package. When I checked my internet speed it was around 22mb which takes around 3-5 sec to load a page on wi-fi. When I checked on wired connection it was 39mb speed. What TT said to me was they are only responsible for the wired line speed and not the wireless. So now I need to wait for another 18 months to change it another supplier. So based on my experience I would advise anyone

    1) 20 days is from the day you click the button when you purchase not the bloody date you receive letters or activation dates.
    2) What ever the speed they promise is only for wired connection and not wi-fi's. So imagine if you are a big family with 3 tabs 4 smartphones
    3) Say you are very clever and phoning them to cancel your contract within 20 days and somehow they convinced you and gave you a better deal. And then you didn't like the deal and if you try to cancel it won't work. Bcs again they said to me your package was TV, Phone & Broadband. We only offered you the upgrade for the internet so we can cancel that but not the TV or phone. I don't know this is how other suppliers do. In this way even Ofcom can't do anything. I would recommend Virgin bcs they may be £ 5-10 more than TT but their line is seperate like BT. That's why their internet is speed. TT borough the line from BT. And finally real English people will be very polite only the foreigners(TT customer service-Indians) can cheat you like this.

For no reason I've been placed on a max 1Mb package since I signed up in July. & despite ringing them up constantly over the last 6 weeks since they let this slip they've still not managed to flip the switch to give me more bandwidth! An hr on phone to CS in India each time, doing same tests over again! Not kept 1 promise or refund. Paying £15 pm bb alone! As soon as contract runs out I'm off!! Don't consolidate your package with Talk talk!!

Talk Talk are a con. When shopping in Wigan City Center, i was approached by some promotional sale reps from talk talk about their current offers. They offered me a great deal a free engineer installation. They messed my order up twice in a row and then charged me £65.00 for missing an appointment that apparently never went through in the first place and refused point lank to reimburse me. Disgusting. i would never use talk talk if they paid me to. Robbers.

One word- appalling. The Internet speed is extremely slow even in the same room as the router. Called numberous amounts of times but they always say my connection speed looks fine over the phone. No matter how much you stress the problem to this company, they simply don't care. They are all money money and provide terrible products. I am glad I am have their broadband deal, as it causes more than enough stress. Pay that little bit extra for better quality!

They don't even deserve 1 star yo be honest. Their 'customer service' advisors are just plain rude. They pass you from person to person. The internet speed is dreadful. More than one person online and it just stops working. Constantly have to reboot the router. Avoid at all costs!

If I could have given 0, I would have, supposed to have WiFi fitted on the 14/11, had no contact to change the date whatsoever, after ring customer services more times than I can count, been told that its now not being set up until the 29/11, less than useful staff constantly being passed around from department to department and put on hold, cancelled my contract before it even began. Do not go with talktalk.

Avoid Talktalk if you can. Rubbish customer service.
They don't take customer privacy seriously, and their multiple losses of customer information seem like a pretty serious breach of contract. When you try to leave before your contract is up due to security concerns, they will charge you £80. I hope they enjoy the £80, because it's the last of my money they'll ever get.

Avoid at all costs. Still no internet a week after it 'went live.' Called up and was on the phone for over two hours to an Indian call centre. The guy barely spoke English and if your answer wasn't on his script he would just be silent. Painful experience. Told we would have to wait two more weeks for an engineer to come round so requested to cancel the contract. At this point we were told the cancellation policy ends the day the internet goes live so we would have to pay a breakout fee of £180 (2years internet). Do not use. Remember: the cheapest is always the most expensive....

Abysmal service! Opted for the offer of 50 pound new line installation instead of 75 pound shopping vouchers. Engineer due on 26th of Jan. Had numerous text messages saying we would be charged if missed out appointment. Partner took holiday off work, no one came. Looked on talk talk app said our service was live. The line from original owners that probably had it for 10 plus years must be fine then. Plug Internet box in, nothing bar power light working. Call them they resolve issue over phone. Internet is good for three weeks then starts going on and off. Call them, they reconnect us. Same next month, goes for a few days. Call them they reconnect us. Same this month for over a week, we were busy so left it for the week, still not working. Checked my online bill and I had an 8.26 charge for calls. Calls we didn't make as we don't own an actual housephone to plug in. Time to call back. Explained the issue with phonebill and lack of Internet. Well I must of made the calls as they are on the system, I could add a package to save from future charges also I will have to pay 65 pounds for an engineer to come out to fix my phone line to receive Internet which I refuse to pay as they should of gave me a new line like I signed up for. After 10 mins I ask for a manager. Tell her I didn't make the calls as we don't have a phone. Offers to have outgoing calls blocked and 8.26 cleared as a goodwill gesture. Fine. Ask to be through to a tech manager to resolve Internet. Finally found someone who understands me and doesn't assume I'm lying to clear an 8.26 debt. Could well be an issue with a crossline and that would also mess the Internet up, just checking the lines etc charge for engineer is bull as we have had problems since day one, phone goes can't get hold of them for two hrs as they are updating their system, call back they can't help us as we have charges on our bill. Our bill is paid up to date our next direct debit due 1st of June. Got to pay it now, will put you through to billing department. Get put through. No I don't want to pay you I have a direct debit. Get me a manager. The only one with half a brain cell not there get put through to another moron. Got to pay 65 pound for engineer. Couldn't possibly be a crossline, we wouldn't know as we don't have a phone plugged in. Asked us to get a landline phone to check if there is. Explained we can't make outgoing calls anyway as we have requested a block on outgoing calls. Got told to just get a phone. Borrow a neighbours. Call back on mobile. Spouting on about we need an engineer and will cost us 65 pound if our line needs replacing but they can't help us as our service has been barred till we pay our bill and that department is shut. Asked for manager. He was. Bull. Round 763 today!

Absoloutly disgusted with this company been with them for over 2 years and recently moved house we rung the company to cancel our contract with them as it was due to end and we had found a cheaper company but the lady from talk talk manage to persuade us to stay as she said it would only cost £32.00 a month for fibre which we thought was a good price and the only charge we would get is a delivery charge for a new box which was fine. Had my bill come through today for £125.00 due to hidden costs that the lady never told us about rung customer services to say that we should of known about it and that we still have to pay which we obviously didn't no about as we wouldn't of stayed with them if we did avoid at all costs absoloute rip of merchants

I don't normally write reviews but the experience with Talk Talk was so shocking I feel really strongly that other people don't waste their time.
I still don't know what happened. I ordered broadband a month in advance for my move in date. I move in, no router or confirmation emails of any kind have turned up. I call up, nobody is any the wiser why this hasn't happened but now ,rest assured, its all been sorted. Still no confirmation. So I ring again, I'm assured again this time my order is in progress. I do get a confirmation email - with the wrong address. I call up again and am told that to put my correct address on the order we have to cancel and start again. So I do. Then yet again no confirmation email. By this point I'm 2 weeks with no wifi and as someone who works from home Im spending about £20 a week extra on data. I ring again, there's been another problem but nobody can tell me what. I finally decide after about 2 more rounds of this to cancel my order. There's no way to receive compensation or log a complaint because if I cancel my order I'm no longer a customer. Absolute joke. I've now started an order with BT. Within half an hour I've received confirmation emails, been told how to track my order, what I need to do and even better they can get me wifi in a matter of days! Moral of the story is, DONT USE TALK TALK!

I would like to give it a 0 star review but that's not available.
After being a loyal customer for almost 8 years I was asked if I want to upgrade to Future Fibre 150. I accepted the offer...worst decision ever. They booked an engineer to install the new external kit. Prior the engineer's visit I was supposed to receive the new internal modem/router...that didn't happen. I had to wait for 2 days to receive the modem. When it arrived I plugged it in and it worked...it was slower than the previous connection but it worked. After that I received SMS advising 2 new orders...God knows who placed those duplicate orders. I replied and asked them to cancel the duplicate orders. They even sent me another modem for the new order. After exchanging SMS asking to cancel the duplicate order my service stopped. I found that all orders have been cancelled, including the one that was live providing me service. I called them and after being pushed between different departments I was promised a refund and that the service will be reinstated in the next 3-5 days. Obviously, none of that happened. A week later I called them to chase on progress only to find out again that my order is cancelled and I need to place a new order. I was pushed again between departments and asked to place a new order with Sales and also to be told that even if I place a new order Sales will not be able to help me. Total confusion. When I asked for the reason the operator couldn't answer. When I asked who could help me the operator couldn't answer.
I was left with no service and no other solution to help me out.
I am extremely frustrated and the operators could not help me at all.
    Do not use TalkTalk.

A very bad service, being a new customer and only the second month in and told I would not be charged for an engineer, then told to pay nearly £90. Spoke to a lady (helpful) a case was opened and then I asked to be put through to the collections department, the guy I spoke to said it would be put on hold until dispute was sorted. Well, they still tried to take the money out of my account and wait for it, the guy I was speaking to decided to yawn away like I was boring him. What sort of customer service was that? But the call is recorded so I have proof, so Jo Page what is going on with your team?? Talk Talk may be cheap but you cannot have so many customers with the same problem all the time, and I know you do, it all starts with management. Cheap does not always mean better sometimes and I was warned not to use Talk Talk because of what would happen, and they were right....smh....I have the proof of being told certain things, Just cancel my subscription, Talk Talk are not the best and just give stress.

Shocking service and customer service even worse, I had nothing but hassle and it was draining and annoying speaking to none English speakers and even asking to be put through to a UK base office they would help. also if you fighting compensation with talktalk take them as far as you can goto CISAS, for every complaint that goes to CISAS it cost talktalk over£300 and if you believe your entitled to compensation then take them all the way, even ask for copies of your account notes and even recordings of your phone calls, I do not trust this company one bit and will never go with a cheaper broadband provider again talktalk deserve to have the worse reviews going there are obviously not doing this correct

Generally average - reliability is probably the worst aspect of using TalkTalk for broadband. There are regular outages, more so than other providers I've used in the past.

Speeds are average, coverage/range is okay (though we've switched to our own Mesh System to cover three floors) and customer service had generally been lackluster when we've needed it.

The only positive is that there service was reasonably cheap when we signed up. I guess you get what you pay for...

Awful customer service. After 3 weeks still not connected. Every time a call Talk Talk they ensure me I will be connected that day, I wont be charged for line rental and will get a call back if I'm not connected. I am paying for line rental I never get connected on the day they say they will and no one ever calls me back.

For anybody reading this, DO NOT get talktalk. It may be cheaper than most other providers, but everything about talk talk is awful. We struggle to have more than one device connected at a time. Watching things such as Netflix or now tv is a nightmare because you spend more time waiting for the videos to buffer. Gaming is bad as well as the connection is always poor and struggle to find games in the first place.
Not to mention the customer service. Rude, unhelpful, and most can't speak good English. Also spend more time waiting to be spoken to than actually talking to somebody.
Can't wait for the contract to end, I'm counting down the days!

Speed his measured in Eons rather than mbps, all is well until things go wrong and then you find out the whole company call centre is based in India and no one is capable of understanding your problem!
I spent 3 months getting my internet connection back with talk talk! in the end it was a very simple fix that BT spent 10 mins sorting, pay the money and go with the company that owns the network, you may save a few quid each year but when it goes tit's up you will spend ages getting anything sorted.

So tesco sold the perfectly decent service to talk talk. It drops out all the time. Under tesco my service was excellent - never dropped out and the customer service was brilliant. I phoned talk talk to tell them i wasnt happy. Im a network engineer so told them not to give me any flannel. Oh my days. They did an end to end test and said that there was nothing wrong with the line but they would send an engineer anyway. Apparently they could see when my service dropped out and actually said the weather could be affecting it. Yes - it could - if i was relying on a microwave service. So ive switched. And i cannot wait. Avoid avoid avoid

Please stay away. They have made the past one of the most stressful. Especially during the WFH. They always say nothing is wrong on their end. They send engineers and charge you if there is nothing wrong on your side. This has happened 3 times so far. So apparently our problems are imaginary.

Their support is bad. Router needs constant restarting every other week. Frequent random blackout. Never getting even close to the speed we are paying for.

On top of all we dont have internet every Sunday 00:00 - 01:00 and they are doing nothing about it.

They are saying that they cant see the issue and call them during the issue, yet they dont have support during that time. WHAT A JOKE.

Shockingly bad. Over paid a monthly payment and having to battle to get it refunded. During the process, it transpired I am also owed a refund from a previous talk talk account from previous years. They sat on it and never notified me. Thats appalling. The actual broadband was rubbish despite being assured it would be ideal for my requirements. I strongly advise NEVER to use this company.

I have "fast" fibre. Speeds cuurently 4.28 down, 2.61 up. Web pages often time out on iPad even after rebooting and clearing history. Really pathetic. Was faster before I switched to fibre

    Stay away if possible...
From the first day of installation(26/03/19), the performance was poor and keep ringing talk talk to discuss, Every day the executives comes with different options and finally send another router. Over the phone they offered half price on bill for first month for the inconvenience, but they taken the discounted bill(First Bill)on 12/04/19 and set that day as the billing date.
In other way it was a false promise as i paid the half bill for two weeks..
