Words can describe how terrible this broadband is. Can’t even stream a movie on now tv yet they claim it can handle up to 50 devices!! Cheap and nasty. Pay a bit extra and get decent broadband is my advice

Don't touch them. They are THE most INSANE company I have EVER dealt with. I set up an account to transfer my service to them. They gave me a date for it to go live (Wednesday 26th July) and I would be keeping my current number. I then receive a call from the last week to say that I wouldn't be able to keep my current number as my current provider would not allow it (even though they are closing down?). I agreed to a new number. I was then told that they had cancelled my original contract and needed to set up a new one. Sighs. I did which took forever over the phone. I was given a new date of July 28th and Open Reach would be coming to set things up, all this would be confirmed in an email No email arrived so I chased them up "sorry, your service won't be going live on the 28th. There is a technical problem with Open Reach and they cannot give a date when it will go live" (nobody had bothered to inform me of this). I asked when I could expect a new live date "sometime within the next 10 days. We call you on Thursday 27th to give you an update". Wednesday 26th. Knock on door "Good morning, Open Reach here to install your new service". But TalkTalk had said you wouldn't be coming because you had an installation problem? Not according to the man who had come to carry out the work. No problems at all. I got back onto TalkTalk. After holding on for 15 minutes, the person came back on the phone and said "I can confirm that the person at your door is from Open Reach". WHAT???? Can you repeat that? Of course he is, but according to you there was a problem and they would not be coming today. She goes off line again, 25 minutes later (the music drives your insane) Ah they coming on Friday 28th. Really? and you will have the router here with me by then? No no router go to engineer. Not according to the engineer it doesn't. Not according to the person who set up my original contract either. It comes to me. Had it even despatched? Nope. When will it be despatched "tomorrow". To whom will you be sending it? "to you address" but you just said it would go to engineer. Silence..... So WHO WILL IT BE SENT TO. She goes off line for another 8 minutes. It will go to engineer and they will contact you". Oh jeez. She added "we will contact you tomorrow between 6&7pm to update you. So today 13.30 they ring. "hello I case manager. I am plesd we get confirmation from Open Reach yew went live yesterday". NO I DID NOT, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CALLING ME TODAY TO CONFIRM THAT IT WILL GO LIVE TOMORROW? "no we receive confirm from Open Reach went live yesterday and your service is now running. NO IT IS NOT. PLEASE - I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF TALKTALK CANCEL MY CONTRACT RIGHT NOW. YOU ARE IN BREACH OF CONTRACT. YOU ARE PROVIDING NO SERVICE. I CAN'T EVEN GET ANY SENSE OUT OF YOU. PLEASE CANCEL MY CONTRACT NOW. I hear tapping over the line "contract now cancelled. Thank you for calling TalkTalk today (they called me remember) is there anything else I can help you with today? ARRRRRRGH YOU REALLY COULD NOT MAKE THIS UP!!!!!!

I first had it fitted with some teething problems such as it dropping when it was working things out. After that I had no issues except with the rrouter. It broke down yesterday. I went on their live chat and after helping me to try to resolve the issue, they sent a new box out. It came today. It works fine. They re reasonably priced and the speed is fine. Customer service was brilliant.

worst internet service ever !!! i recommend never going to talk talk so unreliable always making excuses saying "oh we will get it sorted in the next 24 hours". next 24 hours nothing has been sorted so phoned back and they said "it will be done in the next 48 hours" phoned back again 48 hours later and said the same thing. so another 48 hours later we called back and they said we need to wait for BT to enable you fiber which will take up to the 1st of march.

Worst I have ever been with. Endless internet problems! Service is useless! Clueless! They fob you off with lies! Dont solve anything! Charge way to much for what you actually get. Slow internet that cuts off ALOT. They dont offer to put down monthly bill even if your internet connection was lost for days. Leaving them with a smile on my face!

Since I opted for fibre service my bandwidth fluctuates dramatically. I the past I`ve resolved the issue by speaking to the technical department. However currently I have had no satisfaction with my contact with technical service. I have a bad to appalling broadband speed at present. It can be as "high" as 22MB but frequently drops to an unbelievable 7Mb.In my latest contact with Talktalk the technical rep checked my line speed and assured me that after 48 hours it would be 37Mb but it has continued to be as bad as described earlier. Mt set up has not been changed for at least 4 years so there shouldn`t be any equipment issues. The technical rep reset my router and checked everything and nothing suggested any problem my side of things. When I do a speed check the bandwidth fluctuates considerably. Initially it can be 42Mb but during the same test drops back to 10 to 16Mb which I don`t understand. Any help would be very much appreciated. Alternatively advice on how to cancel my contract would be useful.

All within 21 days of taking out talktalk broadband and phone services they had been blocking xbox gaming and sites like flickr between 4pm and 6.30pm got that sorted having proved the issue was with them by bypassing the block using a vpn on the pc and for the xbox using mobile data via a hotspot and then the service entirely failed.

4 hours on a Sunday using text/ phone contact and then the same but for 3 hours on the following Tuesday morning and despite having been told that there was clearly a bt open reach box fault nearby (3 openreach vans in attendance for days on end) and despite a change of internal cabling and router by my partner talk talk insited on sending an engineer who could not check the bt openreach box.

Talktalk would appear to employ technical department personnel who ask, after you confirm that your internet and phone service do not work at all, if your wifi is working and despite having been advised what colour lights are on the router they then ask if the router is switched on - seriously that is true they seem to believe that wifi works without an internet signal and that router with flashing lights on may not be switched on!!!

So we figured that we would cancel the contract as we were within our first 30 days and leave the tech guy to go find someone to tie his laces for him.

We are now with a new provider with whom we have had no problems - woo hoo.

Awful company stay clear. They refuse to cancel contracts. The customer service agents refuse to help, at most they just pass you onto another advisor who then does the same thing until someone hangs up. All the agents say differnt things about the same query. Unhelpful. Frauds. Scammers.

I have been with TalkTalk for years, but have finally had enough and am moving providers (hooray). If you are considering them as they seem cheap, please think twice! I have Fibre broadband, which works fine on cable connected devices, but WiFi is stupidly slow (not even 1 mbps at times) and Tech team can't be bothered to fix it. Overseas call centres are by far the worst feature of this company, huge language barrier, scripted calls, they don't seem to understand needs and I question the integrity of some staff given that my personal details were leaked prior to the website hacking scandal and received scam calls from people who knew all of my TalkTalk details, including account number. Also, I have been bombarded with scam calls in the past week from fraudsters pretending to be from TT technical support, ever since I reported my slow WiFi issue to them, coincidence perhaps, but seems iffy to me. When you speak to loyalty department about leaving, they just bad mouth other providers, instead of admitting or apologising for their own mistakes. No longer the cheapest in my opinion and their customer service makes you want to scream.

Signed up 2.5 yrs ago. At sign up, explaned disabled thro brain damage, deaf in one ear, and tinnitus in that ear, (so need people to speak at médium speed and clearly) also short term memory problems, and other issues through being 70+. Set up went smoothly and did get help, but then went haywire, The username and password given was too long and illogical for my brain to process. In eighteen months accessed account only twice. Hacking event pushed me to travel 2 hours to Warrington and sit in till it was re-set, But, still too complex to handle. After the2nd year anniversay, I switched. I could not cancel on line because I could not access my account, However, after switch (new provider told me they could not take over unless TT knew I wanted to change), I got the "sorry to lose you letter - here are our special offers" so assumed all was well. In the new year I was sent an overdue notice for over a 100 pounds. I had allowed the direct debit to actívate the full final months payment, even though you pay in advance, to cover my meagre telephone bill. They took two further monthly payments which my bank recovered. I has two further you owe us letter with no explanation. Each was answered by registered post. No explanation of why I owe them. After 8 months they have sent me, this week, a notice of intention to take me to court due to my failure to respond to their letters. They will tell bank, cc company etc. of my default. Notice the timing: Notice will be issued on Jan 8th, i.e. taking out Xmas and NY breaks, 4 weeks to resolve. No time for TStds to respond, ombudsman etc. My comment now is "watch this space" in the press. I am weary of their deafness, the lack of links between departments. It is tempting to pay up to get them off my back, but this will not help the hundreds of others in a similar position. A sit in at their Salford offices might have some effect. I had a lot of practice in the 60s.

My new provider has been very helpful even with an odd problema.

Not very good broadband. I was with BT and had no issues. Switched to talk talk and awful! Drop's out 10 times a day or more! Only one person at a time can use it. I suggest you to not get this internet provider, I have wrote this three times now just drop's out!

This broadband is absolutely shocking. The first two months everything were going fine and then then everything started going downhill. It was lagging so badly I decided to call Talk Talk and they said they would send someone to my house immediately and yes fair enough the person came about 1-2 hours later and they checked it and fixed it up a bit. It was working for about 2 weeks until is started lagging again and this time it wasn't just lagging but it was turning off by itself, basically it couldn't go for at least half an hour before turning off for no reason. I live with three other people my two daughters and husband and we all have laptops and mobile phones. Now, when there are more than two devices connected to the wifi, it starts going crazy. It starts turning off by itself every 10 minutes, the pages WILL NOT load. I will sit there and try re-load Facebook for about 10 minutes until it actually works, but then does the same thing after 10 minutes. Not long ago I called them again and explained everything and they did not help me at all. They gave me a password and username for a website that controls your broadband and told me to change some numbers, that was a waste of time, mind I was on the phone for an hour. I really do not recommend this broadband! It is really really bad. Not even exaggerating. My family and I have had enough. My daughters can't do their homework and I can't do my work on my laptop. Talk Talk need to step their game up. They know they do, they just try and persuade you into everything. Also I am supposed to be paying £20 a month and and pay way more. Waste of time and money.

I am not going to give it any stars talktalk are apauling! They are only interested in making money and do not care if you are not getting the guaranteed speeds of internet.
I’ve had nothing but issues my supper fast broadband is the worst I’ve ever had, supposed to be guaranteed at 30mbs and I get 1.9mbs! And like others have stated if you can find the time with a family and Woking full time to call them to get someone out as you are on the phone with someone who doesn’t listen to you and barely speaks English for up to 2 hours!
Then they want you to do all these different tests and you become an engineer before they will even send someone out to see if there’s a problem!
My whole 2 year contract it has been the same, when an engineer comes out they can’t find an issue and they bump speeds back up and after a week of bliss it’s back to the 1.9mb if I’m lucky because sometimes it just disconnects for no reason!
I demanded to cancel as they were not keeping these guaranteed speeds and they said it was going to be another 7 days and expected me to pay for them seven days even though I had an hour long conversation previous to this regarding my 1.9mbs!
I stated they need to get an engineer out to me then for the 7 days they wanted me to pay and if I get my guaranteed speeds I would be more than happy to pay!
They are a joke I feel like all they do is argue with you to get you to give up which I previously have done hence the issue going on so long, I don’t know how they get away with it however I will be contacting the ombudsman regarding my issues and money wasted and I advise others to do the Same!
Avoid, Avoid, Aboid! You know it’s bad when your mobile data is better than your broadband!!!

Talk talk has the worst customer services of any company I have ever communicated with in my life. If you do eventually manage to get through to anyone after wasting your time and money on hold then you are met with an unempathic, disinterested employee typically with a poor grasp of english. Thoroughly disatisfied with every aspect of talk talk and with a quick google search you can see that the majority of customers writing reviews online feel the same way. I am now 5 months following stopping the service and moving and am still having to deal with talk talk and pay ridiculous fines and fees. I will strongly emplore everyone I know to stay away from talk talk. I was unable to make a formal complaint to talk talk so I have emailed ofcom and left reviews online.

I have never spoke to such rude people in my life, I was told that I would get a free SIM card with my offer of broadband/tv/phone and was posted all over their site when I enrolled in their contract in July, they told me on the phone that the sim offer was stopped in January, spoke to a manager and within the same 20 minutes was told that the offer ended in March. I told him his colleague had just said a completely different date and he started muttering and stuttering on the phone and couldn’t give me a decent answer. He put his colleague back on the phone and I was spoken to like dirt, she was telling me to stop shouting at her after I had told her numerous times that I wasn’t shouting at her And that she was on speaker phone so I was talking louder. Really bad foreign accent to the point I couldn’t understand more than 2 words of each sentence and when I asked her to repeat her self she snarled down the phone and repeated the sentence again with so much attitude That I couldn’t believe I was actually talking to a customer service agent. Would NEVER have signed up to talktalk if I knew how dishonest and down right rude they were. Also the broadband is a joke, I can’t even have my kids Netflix on at the same time as me, while watching catchup. Can’t call them about this as it’s so infuriating theming to get any sense out of them, I tried the chat option with them and the reply is a joke. Sentences not making sense with such bad spelling mistakes through out that u would believe a 4 year old was replying with no idea about how their services work. CANT BELIVE IM STUCK WITH THESE IDIOTS FOR 24 MONTHS.

terrible service loads of problems before they even finished setting up, lied to about costs, package changed. When i then say i want to cancel 5 days after going live (before receiving youview box or getting calls package sorted) We were told we would have leaving fee even though we were only leaving because of their service and wanted to charge us for 2 months + start up fees that we were told were free as part of package. They then threatened to send me to debt collection company!and turned off my ex-directory on my phone and made my internet speed reduce dramatically (even though im being charged for fibre) as soon as i got off the call. we still havent got youview box or call package either. After looking online found loads of complaints similar investigation by telegraph reporters. shared it on facebook and had loads of comments of similar stories. Still haven't solved my issue. Do not go with them!!!

Customer service is just unbelievable, rude and unreliable... 6 months with no internet just false customer... If they don't like what you're saying they just hang up... Seriously, they might be cheap, but it's not worth the hassle...

I got 3 channels, rubbish ones i don't even watch, then ring customer service and they can't understand a word of English, it's shocking! I've been with them for 3 day's and I'm absolutely gutted i went with them.....beware pay the extra and go with sky or someone else ....coz talk talk may be cheap but are useless! Can't wait till my contract ends in 12 months, can't come quick enough

they sent me a free sim with 100 mins 250 texts and 500m of data per month. after 2 months they said I have exceeded the data allowance and de activated the sim and my wifes sim saying i owed an extra £38. I have not used any data all, if it was used it was they who have control of the sim, if they can suspend it, then they can do what they like with it, and claim it was me!!!! tried to complain without success.I would go elsewhere, but I have still got 1 year left on the contract!

So first off, i enjoy gaming. I play a variety of different games. So my family saw a deal which offered "better" speeds than we currently had. We decided to move to Talk talk so that we would have a better connection with all of us in the household. I did not realise then how wrong i would be. So far i have been with them for around a month to a month and a half. I have never seen such low speeds. We rang up and they did a connection test. They told me that we were getting a solid 14-15 mbps around the house. I did my own test then and it turned out that we were getting 1mbps. The download speed is horrific. It got so bad at one point that i was downloading with 1byte/second. THAT IS THE LOWEST IT CAN GO. They didnt even offer me support on how to fix it they just kept teling me it is all fine. I would never ever reccomend talk talk to anyone. Also i cannot even watch a youtube video right now.... and i am trying to run it in the lowest connection. I have even had to resort to using my neighbors wifi instead as it turns out i can get better connection. If you want my advise stay far away from this company No matter how good the deal looks you will never get good broadband. Go for something a little more expensive with a more trustworthy supplier.

Absolutely clueless representatives, went travelling for 4 months and agreed with talk talk before I left to suspend my services and payments until rang them to reinstate on my return. When I got back my services are still running and as I cancelled my DD and they still tried to take payments from me my credit had gone from perfect to fair which to me is totally unacceptable. Complete and utter pile of poo of a company! Raging is an understatement!!! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

When Talk Talk is not having a crisis, I find the system good. I found customer services helpful on the few occasions I have used it.

The email server seems to have improved greatly just recently.

On the minus side the Talk Talk Search Site and News is extremely annoying and for me unusable because as you are trying to read popups obliterate everything, so I never use it

Awful awful awful!! Do not go with them. Took them 3 months to finally get an engineer out to start our broadband up despite rearranging dates 3 times. Would log complaints and here nothing back. We then moved home address. Rang up in advance asking for it to be set up as the broadband at our current address to be disconnected in 2 weeks time. They disconnected us at our current home address immediately leaving us with no internet for 2 weeeks. For some bizarre reason they couldn’t just simply reconnect us for the remaining 2 weeks we had left in our old home despite it being their mistake. Absolutely livid.

Dire customer service. Call centre based in South Africa. Cant handle anything complicated. Perfect illustation of the "computer says no"saying to queries. Broadband very average. They tell you what characters to use in your password. This wouldn't be neccesary if they looked after your Data securely. Counting the days to contract end

The worst customer service ever. Felt ill at the end, and still not even resolved. Took out their broadband and phone. Meant to be online on the 19th, didn't work. Booked an engineer for today - didn't turn up. Eventually got through to talk talk., she told me to phone the engineers, which I did they said it hadn't been booked to call talk talk back!!I arghhh - eventually managed to get through on phone ages. Asked me to go through checks again, said all I wanted was an engineer, said you can't do that, then said I would have to pay ..... took me ages, I could go on and on. Would take too long. But suffice to say, when I begged to speak to someone else, she eventually gave me a number. I phoned and after some confusion, realise that I was through to BT???!!!! After nearly having a nervous breakdown, I get my bill tonight for a month, although even if I was connected, which I am not - even going to 1st June would only be 11days. Unable to get through to anyone to cancel, have cancelled my direct debit but am now worried , if this awful company have any rights to any money from me!! Dreadful experience, the worst customer service ever, I can't stress how awful and upsetting.

My Story: Was told 'Superfast broadband up to 76Mb/s', It's their best package for all the family. Spoke to a representative before purchasing, was told "to expect over 50Mb/s". So went ahead and signed up. 1st day after installation (yesterday) was getting speeds of 12Mb/s, which is pretty much regular broadband speed. First tried contacting via online chat. Spent at least half an hour just for them to verify me through data protection. It was obviously a foreign agent as his english was very poor. When asked what speeds I can expect he told me 96Kb/s, I then asked "less than 1Mb/s??" to which he never replied after waiting 10 minutes I decided enough is enough. So I then tried their contact centre, took half hour to get through to their cancellations department. By this time I was so fed up I wanted to cancel my contract. Had real difficulty trying to understand the asian lady in the call centre, when she eventually realised I wanted to cancel she said ok, then placed me on hold for 10 minutes. Finally a lady named Allison answered the phone and she was British and very lovely. She told me that there's a problem with my area's connection and she'll get it sorted for me. She said she'd ring me back today and let me know if it was sorted. So she rang me back at 18:00 and said it was all sorted and have I tried it yet. I've been in work all day so hadn't. I trusted her and thanked her, happy to stay with TalkTalk, even though my 1 day with them had been horrific. So I finally just got in... Yep you guessed it, now I have 7Mb/s for £36 a month. I'm getting the impression that all they are trying to do is keep me with them through the 7 day cancellation period. Thats the feeling I had the day on the phone when speaking to the asian lady. So tomorrow before I clean my teeth, shower or anything else, I'm going to be on the phone to TalkTalk cancelling my subscription. From reading other reviews could be a task on it's own. I'll update in a week or two to let you know if I have difficulties with that. For now I beg of you all to stay Far Far Away from TalkTalk. Oh by the way if it's any help to anyone, Alison (UK,English) rang me off 08009555511.

We’ve been miss-treated through a case of ‘slamming’, multiple phone calls later and accumulating over 6 hours of call time and there is still no response or rectification of the matter, we have logged and documented all the phone calls we have made with no response from your poor customer service team which have hung up on us on two occasions. Both our telephone and internet connection has been cut, our new phone line no longer belongs at our address and we rely on both our phone line and internet connection for our business. We accept that we have been miss-fortunate but the annoying factor is that not one member of the Talk Talk team is willing to help the matter. We have paid our line rental up front for the year as well as paying £11.50 a month which is also up to date so we have absolutely no reason to change provider which is absolutely ludicrous, it has been done without our consent and has caused major inconvenience for our household and our business. If the matter is not immediately rectified we are fully prepared to write numerous letters to Ofcom and take the matter further, we will also use various social media channels to make others aware. This is by far the worst case of customer service we have both witnessed. We have spoken to the occupants who now ‘obtain’ our house number and they stress it is extremely inconvenient for themselves.

All we ask is to be re-connected to our phone line and internet and to speak to someone that is actually willing to help. I will say again, we have not changed service provider and have been miss-treated, it is definitely a case of ‘slamming’, somebody somewhere has made an error. A comprehensive response would be much appreciated.
