Speeds are fine, same as guaranteed but goes off daily and repeatedly. Incredibly frustrating. No clear reason behind it and appears to be permanent.

TalkTalk was not bad for the price, I did not have to pay a set-up fee for phone line installation. The internet speed was around 10-15mbps most of the time, however upload speed was awful (1mbps MAX)! Customer service was OK. internet disconnects every few hours (when more devices were connected), but was just about manageable (1min then back online. but still annoying.

switched to post office for cheaper deal, got the same speeds for cheaper, service was the same (the drop of connection continued).

would I recommend TalkTalk? Yes, for cheap basic broadband it was OK for basic usage ( checking email, watching a video, browsing the web)

Utterly frustrating. Broadband has been working for a few months but problems before. Feels like the service is built on lies and deception. Their websites and phone lines appear designed to keep people away. Impossible to know charges and get charged £8 for a call to a landline 50 miles away and £2 to one 200 miles away. Different rates to different networks. Have also been told that installation was free and then they charged £50. It is impossible to find a way to contact TALK talk through website and phone numbers take you on loops to divert you from speaking to anyone

Overall not the best, would prefer virgin if in my area. Customer service helpful but no continuity.
Broadband speed is poor and varies regularly.

From day one I had issues with Talk Talk. Slow service, frequent downtime, and useless customer service.

When I moved out of my address, I tried to change the contract holder to someone remaining at the address, and after filling out the appropriate forms and sending them off, months later I received an e-mail saying I had several unpaid bills. I logged into my account to find with late fees the total had come to nearly £100. I contacted them immediately, and was given the same scripted response by everyone I spoke to. After this, I decided to bite the bullet and cancel my contract, and pay the cancellation fee. However, just today I received another e-mail saying my latest bill was due. After calling them again, I was given the same response as last time.

I also received an e-mail asking if I would recommend to a friend, but I honestly wouldn't recommend them to an enemy.

Where do I start! 12 months of issues I came off a call earlier with someone. Explaining I wasn’t paying a penny for a service that I had issues with since day one, I hadn’t paid the last three bills as every month all you get is let’s get our technical team to look at your Line, The first few times I let it lay, however as an ex engineer to open reach I far from stupid when it comes to testing lines getting reports sent back to my phone through a generic line you call.

I new the vault was back in the DP being told by talk talk the line is perfect. NO FAULTS

I had an engineer send out after the 4th month who himself found a number of faults I also informed him I found. The engineer agreed and then sorted the issue.

Month or two no problem then again issues started happening again, I contacted TalkTalk asking that I wanted the line sorting and wanted the past months reimbursed to be told no can only look at that month as the past wasn’t seen as the same issue. 28 days is all you get with talk talk then issues are closed if YOU the individual don’t call back.

As The customer TT should be contacting you on every update they have. Let’s say after 12 months I have just left and gone else where, I had a letter off TT asking that I pay them £60 for early termination, also want the rest of the month I refused to pay, they have turned my internet off 10 days early from when my new provider is due to go live. Leaving a vulnerable child in this current period of time without internet. This has all been explained To TT who said “not our problem”

They are shocking, rude, arrogant. They need to learn when customer service skills are as a customer should always be the priority.

Don’t let the person on the end of the call tell you there isn’t a fault on there line, you as the customer knows when your having issues. As that an engineer is sent out and don’t let them tell you you will have to pay for the engineer as that’s what they pay for there service for.

Had no internet or telephone for 13 days and counting up to now due to a damaged line keep being told it's being prioritised wouldn'tlike to like to guess how long I would have to wait if it wasn't prioritised, customer service absolutely clueless very difficult to understand what they are saying half the time all they keep saying an engineer is working on the problem but none have been out to sort it yet

These people are unbelievably incompetent and arrogant. After we cancelled our contract with them, within the cooling-off period, they put a "cease" on the line they hadn't even connected to us for the next three weeks, preventing our new provider from taking it over. They refused to remove this and when I complained they told me to contact our previous provider, which we do not have as we just moved into this flat. I am disgusted with the appalling level of service provided by this company and wouldn't recommend them to anyone, even if they paid me. it looks like I am going to have to pay to have a new line installed and then make a claim against them for their unreasonable behaviour through CISAS. They are a nightmare.

Probably the worst consumer experience I have had with any company in many years. I've suffered months of disconnecting broadband and have spent a total of 2 full days on the phone or in chat across this period trying to get a fix. You hold for ages, then when you get through you are cut-off, agents don't have solutions, fault status reports by text and online contradict and when you finally complain formally they take weeks to address matters. When I had battled and finally secured compensation they couldn't even pay this correctly - it took numerous further calls and hours wasted just to get this paid. Talktalk is a confused, muddled mess, guaranteed to try the patience of the most reasonable person and their leadership should be ashamed. Go elsewhere, as I too am about to do.

Have been a talktalk customer for over 10 years. Have been happy with the m being our ISP but just got to watch them raising bills when contract is over. This time they nearly doubled in price to over £50 a month so I want to change to sky for half they price. Talktalk won't let you go very easily. Wasted 5hrs trying to change but TT won't help. Long queues to talk to someone. Sky really helpful but TT not letting me become a sky customer. Don't let TT get the hooks into you.

Renewed with them 13/4/20 -nothing happened except they increased my bill by £4.95 per month. Impossible to contact them . Went via resolver got calls from 3 different people all said they would sort it as not trace of my renewal even though they sent an order acknoledgement- received 4 emails asking for my details to check my order. Finally said could not find it I even sent copies of ack to them.
Finally called me saying years free amazon prime was for new customers only. Offered me 18 months at £ 6.95 discount because of zoom meetings cannot risk changing at this time but will never deal with them again. Poorest customer service imaginable.

We've been on talktalk's 11mbps deal for years. It's costing us £35 per month. As long as it worked we didn't pay any attention to other deals. But recently talktalk have been giving us really low speeds, sometimes as low as 1mbps. So finally, I looked for a new deal. At first I checked talktalk and found they were offering fast broadband at 60mbps for £26. I selected the deal only to find that they added on £17 worth of unwanted extras which I couldn't remove. I could have phoned them up to get the £26 deal, but I knew that they'd probably waste an hour of my time trying to up-sell me. So that was it, we switched ISP. Suddenly talktalk were contacting us, offering us new deals as low as £21. But too late, we're never going back to talktalk. Ironically, if they'd just given us the 11mbps we were paying for they could have kept on charging us over the odds for a few more years.

I dont know why it took me so long. After 25 years I am leaving due to their abysmal customer service and broadband which is much slower than I am paying for. Even though I have already left Talktalk still insists on one months notice and I am not happy with that since I was not getting the service as described and not compensated. Right now I am still paying them and using my new suppliers service. You are currently unable to speak to customer services as they have obviously reduced their support team. Why? You also cannot communicate via their chat app as it fails, and I would have quit much sooner if I could have. Finally I had to put in a formal complaint before anyone responded. Too little too late.

TalkTalk Business installed a business line in my new premises. During the transfer of my existing phone number they messed it up resulting in all my lines and net access being cut off. They said a week to restore it!!!! This is talktalk mistake but I am picking up the full cost that could potentially run into tens of thousands of pounds. No phones, no email, no SIP trunks! In the middle of a global pandemic as if business isnt already hard enough! I was promised a call back within 8hrs (i kid you not!) from a “manager” to discuss my query, and guess what....they never called me back. DO NOT take any service with talk talk. You will be read pre scripted lines at customer service. You will here “i understand” and “im sorry” dozens of times which in itself is extremely frustrating because believe me they have zero understanding of the dire consequences for a small business for this to happen! They will do absolutely nothing to help you out of a situation they have caused. Avoid like the plague and go with a telco who will move heaven and earth to fix a situation they created and understand this type of mistake can sink a business very quickly.

Talk Talk is an absolute disgrace.
Can we not awaed zero stars.
Trouble started even before connection date with the loss of the router. 3 enginneers, no wifi and 14days later i cancelled. But have to pay for 2 months for nothing.
    Then they add charges
Allow yourself at least an hour per call. I added up the total phone time with a manager... 15.5 hours on the phone in 14 days.
Must have spoken with over 25 different people and it isnvery difficult to understand anyone at thr company as the spoken English isnt good.
    Managers dont call back
    Please please join another company.
The stress and hassle we had had has been immense.
    Disgraceful.

After 3 years of complaining and reporting issue with line’s reliability and speed I can say whole heartedly that this is one of the laziest, incompetent, false help, could not care less company I came across in my 8year living in London. Promised a lot of things and did nothing actually. Not only the internet is slow (3mbp) but it drops out every day, someday even 10-15times (if I care to be bothered with it that long). Have to use mobile data, which makes the home broadband absolutely useless. No refund, because you have to file a report for 12 consecutive months in order to get a refund and I only had 11 months registered. This company makes no sense to me, since they don’t own lines they renting it which means they can’t do **** about your line problem. When BT decided to upgrade then and only then you can get your fiber cable. Hyperoptic has already done it in 2 years and they were nowhere in this area 2-3 years ago and still they managed to get things done. It is a shame to be part of this and experience something like this. Rip off and unprofessional. That’s my experience with this “company”

I have been cut off every three months in an 18 month contract. In between I receive intermittent connectivity on a line that can only deliver speeds up to 5mbps anyway.
If you contact them to complain, you are
    a) sent yet another new router, which has a stabilisation period if 3 weeks = no internet for 3 weeks
    b) told to contact them when the router/actual internet is down because in the 45-60 mins wait time, plus all the questions, checks etc they put you through the connection magically reappears.
Customer Service are wonderful people, but know **** about tech/hardware/software or even that a line that is adsl to cabinet and to home is incapable of being upgraded to fibre speeds. It's a vicious circle of checks, no problem here, and losing internet connection and the will to live.
Avoid this company like you would the coronavirus. It wants your money and nothing else.

If I could give none I would. Out of all broadbands please safe yourself the stress and go elsewhere virgin media, sky , BT anything else.

Because my experience with them is a joke. To no WiFi connection slowest broadband ever, worse than student accommodation and there’s multiple students 100s sharing that WiFi company and this WiFi is struggling to reach my bed room from my kitchen. Ridiculous. Then you call the company rudest staff was told what do you want me to do about it. It’s your fault you got charged a fee....we don’t control the speed of the WiFi. Let run a test. That does nothing. Only good thing was one lady who understood and waived a fee for me as she understood how ridiculous the amount was. But overall a total disgrace.

I rang up to cancel with them as the wifi is sporadic and the download speed is appaling.

The day we cancelled with them, our internet "coincidentally" went down so I rang them.
This call was 2 hours long and I spoke to 5 different people and got hung up on while on hold just for the laughs.

Finally got a new router sent out which I didn't think was the problem anyway.
I asked to complain about the customer service but I got cut off again. Lovely stuff
After another call I was told a supervisor would call within 72 hours, obviously I didn't think they would and obviously they didn't.

Router comes and fantastic news, it doesnt work!
    Calls up again
After an hour and speaking to just the two people this time, I was on hold while they ran some checks and I was hung up on again.

    Another phone call
45 minutes in and I was told by some rude woman who continuously interrupts me and says she can either send a third router out for some reason. I said no.

If we're all keeping count, she wants me to own 3 routers because the first mysteriously became too old the day we cancelled our deal and the second "brand new" router is faulty.
Baring in mind I leave them in 20 days so gotta send these heaps of scrap back.

She said there is nothing more they can do. Plot twist! So that's it then. The end of the story. Absolutely nothing more can be done, they are just out of ideas. Exhausted.
Plan A didn't work and they have no more tricks.

So now I have 20 days until a proper provider arrives. Until then... no internet for me

Bonus feature - if you move house then your contract is automatically renewed from the beginning again so you could end up with another 2 years with them just for moving house. They sneak that one in fine print. Got done on that one too.

So to be honest TalkTalk have consistently ruined my life and will continue to do so for another 20 days and 10 hours 54 minutes.

    Petty petty company! Avoid!

    Almost forgot this nugget
The rude bigfoot sounding shrekalite said as it shows on her computer the home has internet then nothing more can be done.
Just calling me liar as a little cherry on the cake.

Stay away from talktalk. I mean run run.
I've ordered a boundle online on the 8th of june an ingenier was suppose to install my router. They emailed me that i won't need an ingenier they will guide me through a video call.which never happen. I have to call them to guide me. Then after all that no internet. So they said an ingenier will come on the 11th of June to fix the problem. Nobody turned up, so i called them and they booked another day. Nobody turned up. 4th appointment and until now no ingenier turned up to fix my Internet. And nobody contacted me.
    No communication, no information.
On top of that, talk talk is sending me a bill for a service they haven't provided.
I really mean it STAY AWAY FROM TALKTALK

I was a new customer, I never recieved any Broadband service and TalkTalk said they had sent me a faulty router but if I paid £25 they would send another. I refused, and demanded a manger explain why they demand money to replace faulty goods in contravention of the sale of goods act 2015. No manager called me back so I cancelled as is my right under the same act. Now they want to bill me, well I will happily see them in court, I had exactly the same problem with BT 8 years ago and won that case so in addition to the new stronger act, I also have case law on my side. Avoid TalkTalk they are just money grubbing charlatans and will get nothing from me except the contemp they deserve.

Since I have been with Talk Talk all they have done is stress me out by adding money whenever they want, can't get through to them by phone email or letter. My bill is meant to be £23 a month it's £89 for some reason there adding charges that I don't no about. It's out of order. Advisable don't go with them. BUNCH OF PRICKS ✌️

    WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

Left their service in February 2020. In spite of that, have been consistently charged 'late fees' of £12:50.

When i try to enquire about it, I am unable to do a thing because the account is in my ex's name. We filled in the appropriate forms several times to change the name before I left their service, but they didn't bother, losing the forms I guess. When asked, all they had to say was 'sorry can't help'.

I have now paid the latest bill out of sheer frustration as it was damaging MY credit record... If I receive another bill I shall be reporting to trading standards.

Would give 0 marks if I could.

Was with them for 2 years really bad internet connection cUt off loads of times and had to reset which didnt always work so had to phone up and get then to fix. I got an out standing balance of £10 on final bill which I wasnt informed off found out 3 months later and they added a charge of £12.50 per month making the outstanding £47.50. Good customer services on the phone is only positive.

Who ever reads this needs to know that “Talk Talk” can destroy any bodies credit rating even though they are not a customer of theirs!!! Back in May 2020 I was looking at broadband deals via uswitch, Talk Talk was one of the providers that had popped up so I wanted to know which broadband package they could offer me in my local area. After only filling in my landline number and post code as required on their main website I wasn’t happy with what they had to offer me, and so I had decided to go with another provider. Then in June I had received notification from Equifax that Talk Talk had done a hard search on my background and had affected my credit rating by 74%, (even though I am no customer of theirs) I had emailed Talk Talk as advised by Equifax as companies should only be doing hard searches when applying for credit. A few weeks later I had heard nothing back, and so I’d decided to let Uswitch know about the situation and to help warn other users about Talk Talk checks. The next day I had received an email from Uswitch saying that they would raise the second complaint for me. Now in July 2020 I have still not received any response from Talk Talk, but not only that Equifax has noticed me again telling me that Talk Talk had the audacity to do another hard search which has yet again affected my credit rating by another 74%!!! What’s even funnier is that I cannot even complain to the ombudsman as TalkTalk isn’t signed up to their scheme, so they can’t review anyones complaints. If you are looking to join Talk Talk I would think very seriously before giving them your home landline and address!!!

I actually would give TalkTalk a five star rating the Internet is so fast, I was actually in two minds with going with talk talk, I did make the right decision.
