Awful service, intermittent connection at best. They have now banned me from their Facebook page as they didn't like me leaving bad reviews on their adverts. I've been doing this for months but they still the acted quicker than their broadband runs

This company is taking full subs every month, but is not providing customer service or anyway of contacting them. Its using covid-19 as the excuse. They have no face to face contact with the public there should be no issue with staffing.

After quite a few years TalkTalk have now lost a customer spending approx. 45 per month. My son bought a new computer costing him 500 pounds. It didnt connect to the wifi so i called their scripted customer helpline. No help at all. I then spoke to a Manager who advised that as other devices worked in my home then it was nothing to do with TalkTalk! I advised them that it was a compatibility issue so needed them to fix it. They sent an engineer who changed the router, the service was still poor, no wi-i for my son and the engineer said if this doesnt work then i cant help! Theyre not interested in existing clients just new ones...so i beg everyone not to go with talktalk. I contacted knowhow who changed the security on my router to allow my son to get access. I then called Sky and they are installing in 10 days! I hate poor service and a disregard for customers. Goodbye Talktalk and good ridence!

TalkTalk Business installed a business line in my new premises. During the transfer of my existing phone number they messed it up resulting in all my lines and net access being cut off. They said a week to restore it!!!! This is talktalk mistake but I am picking up the full cost that could potentially run into tens of thousands of pounds. No phones, no email, no SIP trunks! In the middle of a global pandemic as if business isnt already hard enough! I was promised a call back within 8hrs (i kid you not!) from a “manager” to discuss my query, and guess what....they never called me back. DO NOT take any service with talk talk. You will be read pre scripted lines at customer service. You will here “i understand” and “im sorry” dozens of times which in itself is extremely frustrating because believe me they have zero understanding of the dire consequences for a small business for this to happen! They will do absolutely nothing to help you out of a situation they have caused. Avoid like the plague and go with a telco who will move heaven and earth to fix a situation they created and understand this type of mistake can sink a business very quickly.

As a new customer got a date 19th july 2019 then they cancelled the day it with a text message and to followip with a call which never came. Reason for first cancellation was quite silly and seemed an obvious lie . A second date given for installation on 24th july. Today received a similar text to the first time of delay and we might have to postpone to a newer date. Already all the signs are there to not take their services and getting out of their clutches wasn’t easy which is always a bad sign. ( less than one minute of call if you are a calling to join compared to 20 odd minutes of holding if you want to be transferred to the cancellation department and that too they will send you to some wrong department in the end)I have had enough and don’t wish to be their customer.
Thankyou for showings your true colours very early on. I treally am grateful!!

The worst company I have ever dealt with. Customer service is not in the UK unlike what the adverts say, very rude people and you can't understand anything they say. We signed up 5 days ago and we are cancelling today and even that is a difficult task for them...We were mis sold the internet and tv package - internet speed slower than the minimum promised, tv signal is awful. We wanted to log a complaint but their system for complaints was down. We wanted to speak to a manager, the manager was away.
Stay away!

Just a nightmare you never wake up from. The worst service I have ever experienced. You get sent from one person to another. They never answer the question you ask but rely on a script. Save yourself a whole lot of pain and use someone else. I moved to Vodafone, not one problem.

Utterly terrible customer service. Constantly being hung up on by customer services, they pretend they can’t hear me when I try and query when they are coming to install my line.

I have been with talktalk for almost 2 years. They recently offered me fibre optic for £5 extra, I wish I hadn't. Dial up is quicker and the speeds are almost half of my original broadband. When I called their so called customer service, I was told to plug a laptop into the router so they could check the speeds, when I explained that we only use mobiles and tablets on broadband they told me they would send an engineer at a cost of £60 to me!!!!! There was clearly a speed issue when they tested the wifi. I haven't done anything about getting it sorted and I am now going to complain to every regulatory body I can find that will help.

I'm so tired of fighting with you @TalkTalk. Everyone have to know when they choose the telecommunications company to not choose yours! 5 months of fighting with you on the phone, I spent hours to find somebody who could help me to resolve the problem! Every single time you just promised to improve the connection but nothing happened.
TalkTalk just want your money and they don't want give anything back.
They don't provide any services for you! They are just stealing the money from your pockets! Don't go with them.

TallkTalk are appalling on every level. We have 0.4mbps on our broadband and are told this meets the accepted service levels. The service is intermittent with broadband dropping up 6 times an hour, phone lines dropping and currently no service at all. Customer support is a joke - if you can get through the automated system without the message 'we're working on it, goodbye' to talk to a call centre person, they'll ask you to perform increasingly bizarre actions that clearly won't fix your phone fault. Good luck if you can find anybody to resolve issues - the head of complaints can't be bothered to reply themselves and you'll get an automated letter with no contact info. Says it all really - a company that can't be bothered. Unless it's sending you a bill.

The worst company I have ever dealt with.
Every time I have needed to contact them it has taken me at least an hour to complete a simple task. I have made phone calls regarding bills in which they have charged me triple that I should be paying and they are unable to tell me why they are charging me over £65 a month; not one of these phone calls have been recorded meaning I need to go through everything again. My router cuts out several times every night for no reason, talktalk are also unable to tell me a reason why. I have also tried to leave many times, which they do not allow. I simply get put through to a different department each time offering me new deals and discounts that they then do not add to my account meaning I am till paying full price anyway. I strongly recommend against choosing talktalk and an internet provider, as you will get nothing but bad service, unneeded hassle and incoherent staff who are unable to even understand a question never mind help out.

Never use talk talk find another provider. The worst customer service i have ever experienced. A long term customer, it took over two weeks to fix a fault they created (they connected
our line to some one else). Customer service is useless designed to get you off the phone, they lie, when you ask to be put through to a manager (you speak to a different rep each time with an atrocious grasp of English), Answer 1 I will put you through 20 min later you are still hanging on, Answer 2 we will call you back within 48 hours!! no call back. Answer 3 we do not have a manager. Each time you tell them it has not been fixed they move you to the back of the queue adding another 48 hours. Reading out the text you have just received is pointless and irritating. My wife ID the fault fixed within another 48 hours. When you need them they are completely useless. Find another provider.

Like most utility companies, customer service is appalling.
Be economical with the truth, sell the product, then grow cloth ears - quite a strategy but TalkTalk has it off to a fine art.
Regarding the product: Speed is nowhere near what's claimed, reaching 5mbps download is a struggle. Reliability is poor; speed frequently strangled and occasionally cut off, sometimes for hours at a time.
Wifi hub isn't the best and I reverted back to an old one.
TV box and package are a total waste of time. VERY slow to open. Not the easiest to navigate. Can't record. clearly designed to make you spend more. Needs ethernet cable.
Whilst I'm well aware that other providers are every bit as bad, I'm still moving to a new contract that'll at least save me a few quid.

When I first received faster fibre broadband, the speed was indeed up to 30Mb/sec. over the last 2 years the speed has diminished to sometimes under 2Mb/sec. Remarkably, each time I call customer services, the speed jumps to about 15Mb/sec after their 'test'. And after an hour on the phone being patronised and having to give my personal details three times. Next day it's down to about 3Mb/sec again. Now I have to wait three days while my latest complaint is being 'investigated'. Cheap, but rubbish. Virgin have laid their fibre cables in our town. Once it's online, I'm switching. Enough of this Mickey Mouse company.

I had been with Talktalk for years with no problems. They contacted me and told me I could have a free youview box with catchup tv at no extra cost that is when the trouble started. The tv buffered all the time when I complained they went through a process of sending an engineer out checking my connection and lots of other bullshit only to be told my connection was good they then increased my speed to 6mbps. Everything worked ok for a few weeks then the speed started to decrease. I reported it again and went through the "line check" crap again and they eventually said they would lock my speed at 6mbps. again ok for a few weeks then speed decreased and tv buffered again!! I tried reporting it again but the time it takes etc I gave up looking for a new broadband provider now I've had enough!!!!

Awful! 2 months of intermittent broadband and an average speed of 0.3mbps (vs my usual 6mbps). TalkTalk seem genuinely unwilling to help, with long phone calls to ‘offshore’ call centres who are just reading scripts and ticking boxes,, lots of explaining over and over again, time off work for bt to say the physical set up is fine and the problem is with TalkTalk and more ‘I do apologise for the problems you are having’ than I can count.
I have now asked to be released from my contract and will go with a company that actually cares (if I can find one).
By reading the other reviews it seems I am far from alone, and I urge others to seriously consider other options than TalkTalk.

Cut my speed from 7Mbs to 4Mbs, complained and they told me the contract minimum as 2.5Mbs. Put through to technical support, who managed to cut my speed to 3.5Mbs. Told them I've had enough and was moving to another provider. They've now cut my speed to 2.5Mbs don't deal with this company, they are the worst. They don't care about the service they provide.

A bunch of time wasters. I was happy with my talktalk broadband package and it worked ok. They phoned me and told me for the price I was paying I could have a free Youview box with catch up TV if I signed up for anothe 18 months. They said I needed a speed of 4Mbps for it to work and since I was getting 6+ Mbps it would work fine. This is when all the trouble began. After the new router and Youview box was set up the internet speed went down to 3.1Mbps and my TV buffered and was impossible to watch. I complained but all I got was a customer service idiot trying to tell me (I am an Electrical Engineer) that I had not set it up properly and they said the fault was inside my house and if I wanted an Engineer to come out if he found a fault inside the house or if he could not find any fault it would cost me £65. If I missed the appointment it would cost me £25. Since I new the fault was not in my house I booked an Engineers visit for "AFTER" 3:30pm as I am out 'til then. No Engineer appeared. WhenI got my next bill there was a £25 missed appointment charge on it. I phoned and complained they said they had a picture of my front door and the Engineer had been. I refused to accept this and told them to stick their broadband they removed the £25 charge and booked another Engineer. Same rules applied as before. My wife happened to be off work that day and the engineer arrived at 10am. He told her they don't get appointment times they just work through the list of jobs as the see fit. He checked everything and said my end was fine and there didn't appear to be a fault on the line either. He adjusted my router settings and left me with a speed of 6.3Mbps every thing worked fine for about 1 week then the speed dropped and the buffering started again. I phoned and got the usual script quoted at me unplug this reboot that we are going to carry out checks on your line bla bla bla bla same same every time. Still no fix but I was told my speed was "Locked " at 6Mbps and I should have no more trouble. 2 days later 3Mbps No matter how often you phone you get the same crap and it is impossible to get things fixed. Don't go near this useless mob. Indian customer service transferring you to the Philippines who claim to be the "experts" they couldn't lace a pair of boots. Be warned Try BT or Sky or anyone but them you will pull your hair out with frustration.

Terrible company I was with talk talk for years as my kids get older they are online more so I decided to contact talktalk to upgrade to a faster speed they were very helpful the not a problem for them. As soon as I had agreed to the contract the speed reduced until we can only have one device on at a time. I contacted them 6 time after it and they still wouldn't fix the problem. I asked to cancel as I was missold something and they said I had to pay £365 to do so. So I either pay the outstanding amount or just put up with the slow speed so I can go elsewhere. Stay back from them. Also when I asked to speak to someone over the phone instead of online chat they said they have no such fasility

Glad my contract is up! Have waited a long time for this. Talk Talk = Avoid Avoid! Multiple router breeches. Unreliable service. Customer service stinks. They pass you around and dont really want to help you. Was also given someone elses landline number and was plauged with calls from debt companys for 18 months. TalkTalk said they couldnt change my number. Terrible service. Never again.

If you could provide 0 stars I would have done so. What an organisation you agree to a new contract they don't deliver on it and then move you to a fall back rate without advising you. When you subsequently write to them they seem uncapable of reading the content of your correspondence and actually responding to your queries. I then tried writing to their CEO and the letter was answered again by the same individual who again didn't answer my queries but asked me call them only to have my call rejected as I am no longer a customer given I moved to another service provider.
Now writing to the regulator as it's a otal waste of time dealing with them when they fail to honour contract terms funny thing is they want to punish customers with penalties if they don't stick to the terms of their contract.
STAY WELL CLEAR

Worst service ever! Internet hasn't been working right since we got our contract and everytime we call they say they'll adjust some parameters and it should fix its self then you call back after it STILL isn't working and they say it's not their fault. USELESS. Then they say they can send an engineer out but it would charge me £50?! We're now tied into a contract for an entire year with constant internet connection losses and no help. DO NOT GO WITH TALK TALK.

I wish i had never changed from Orange, only went with Talk Talk as i have my phone and line rental with them and have had no issues with this. What a waste of time the Broadband is. I can never stay connected for more than a few minutes. If i try to download anything it seems to take forever and cannot use the broadband as wireless any more due to the amount of disconnects i am having. I am currently connected via the cable with defeats the purpose of having a laptop with WIRELESS broadband. I have contacted tech help numerous times to be told different things each time and still no resolution. I am currently looking for another more reliable supplier due to this. I would not recommend Talk Talk broadband to anyone.

TalkTalk accidentally cut off our broadband after they updated our contract. They admitted their mistake. Six weeks later,42 different customer service workers, numerous nationalities, all mannerly who promise you the earth. Unfortunately most of it was made up as they were going along . No two people had the same story even though it was on their screens. After 7 weeks of no TalkTalk broadband i'm back with BT.To add insult to injury they are trying to fine me £138.67 for breaking a contract.........Im sorry but as they cut me off [by accident] Did they not break the contract??? I've tried my best to resolve this , spent hours on the phone talking to mis informed third world country call centres, and listening to 'on hold loop music'. Talk Talk should be ashamed of their customer service. Cheap customer service =no service!!!!

The router has become troublesome, arbitrarily slowing to less than 10% of expected speed and heating up. Only short term solution is to switch off and let the router cool down. In addition, using an IP phone requires a static IP and the provider does not allow this.

I ordered Fibre 65 service from Talk Talk which has a headline speed of 67MB. The service speed is stable bur never gets above mid 30s. Talk Talk advisor told me that the expected figure should be around 36MB. i could have got 38Mb service a lot cheaper from other providers.
