I only changed to Utility Warehouse because of the bundle deal with my electric & mobile. My provider before was fantastic & I didn’t want to change. I’d also tried UW years ago & it was awful then but thought hopefully they’d be better now. No, awful signal dropping in & out constantly, was told there was something wrong with the wall socket in the house (it worked perfectly 2 days previous with Sky). I’ve cancelled & gone back to Sky.

Shouldn't be so surprised such low prices. Only get what you pay for as they say. Terrible instructions with any item who knew we had 2 lines 5g & 2.4htz. Sadly both just as bad as each other. Slow or completely dropping out. No homework for the children as nobody available on the phone to help at weekends. Not happy at all

Do not buy from this godawful broadband provider, We called them up countless times so they can hopefully fix the slow internet issue but as of right now the internet is still awful. They advised replacing the wifi box however its still terrible. They will throttle your internet connection too, stay far away from this terrible brand.

We were really hopeful of UW and cancelled our reliable broadband, however UW broadband couldn’t get to a second room. When I called they suggested my walls were too thick and sent two boosters out, that didn’t help either. Said it was my issue as signal to router was great, but even a device 2 foot from it dropped in and out. They were good cancelling it and everyone I spoke to was nice, but the actual broadband is shocking.

The customer service was good but the speed, reliability and satisfaction isn’t. We first lost our Wi-Fi randomly, we paid all the bills and the light was still the right colour. However it did not work. It takes forever to turn back on and it randomly cuts out, leaving all of our family without Wi-Fi for a long time. This is very slow and annoying especially for people who need the Wi-Fi to work at home or whatever. I think it would be great if it stopped randomly not working without showing any signs to why and the reliability was a lot more trustworthy.

When the Wi-Fi works it is very good and strong however sometimes it just switches of and takes ages to turn back on. I would recommend as long as you are patient when it turns off because it happens a lot.

When it works it’s fast but it’s so unreliable. When first installed the 2.5 and 5 were combined which meant our security gear which only used 2.5 would not work. That was then separated so we now have the choice. But it was still unreliable and they claimed it was incompatibility with my kit. First it was then wifi extender then my Sonos sound system and then my VPN. It would log on but with no internet connection which was extremely frustrating. So it was all my fault - not recommended.

Terrible service. Have now been without phone line and internet for 4 weeks. We are pensioners with health problems but despite complaints have received no updates or action. Have now missed a appointment with a consultant neurologist. Our heating is controlled by internet so have no heating. Cannot print anything. Asked for unlimited data for mobile phone whilst without internet and they have the audacity to be charging us extra for that. The stress and worry for us is unacceptable.

If I could give it 0 I would . Appalling broadband . Worse I've encountered. We can't even get on normal channels through sky . So we are having to use our firestick to watch some telly . But even all the channels on there are not working . Got fed up of reporting it and they say its fine . Can't wait for contract to end .

Horrible WiFi connection, can barely stream a video at 114p resolution (no exaggeration) and I end up using my hotspot 90% of the time. Customer service keeps making excuses saying they are using copper wires and promised to upgrade to fibre optic but the broadband is still the same old rubbish. Who is still using copper wires? Waste of money and a scam.

Unreliable broadband provider. Slow and unstable dropping connection constantly. Customer service is decent but unable to resolve issue. Due money back as speeds unable to reach minimum guarantee they provided at the start of the contract.

Moved to UW from Virgin as was paying over the odds and virgin cust service was pants. UW cust service is UK based and often im speaking to a human within 3 rings!! Broadband speed is good, got three kids and we can all stream and video call at once. The router has 5G aswell as traditional cable, so can put different devices on the separate connections. Often virgin or cable goes down in th street , and I can still continue to work/stream/video call using the 5G network on the router, brilliant!

I have spent months working with UW to try and correct an error they made with our Meter readings which resulted in a significant overcharge. They have had numerous opportunities to issue a correct bill but have failed. They have since cut off our mobile and broadband services and threatened to refer us to Debt collection agencies. Due to their error we are now without broadband access as we try and sort out their mess. Great when we work from home! UWs response? If you don't like it go to the Ombudsman - obviously we have! Never been treated so poorly by a Utility company before...

Given up with this service. Unreliable, intermittent..internet at best, programs start then I get the dreaded white spinning circle...despite the TV being directly linked to the latest router. I dont even contact the company any more...they have no solutions. They are increasing the price for a service I just aint getting. Company speed tests state the service is fine, when I do my own test directly via TV, I get no service, intermittent connection or dropping in and out over the duration of the test(s). Im now looking at alternate service providers who will actually deliver actual internet speeds consistently with no drop out.

From beginning the broadband services was excellent but recently I returned the two eero to them still sit in the boxes for one whole year, never been open and been charged for entire time.
I decided to send them back, after UW received them and since then my broadband connection non stop dropping. A very disappointing with their absolute disgusting services.
I will then back to BT which I'm happy to pay for.

The worst broadband experience I've had.

    1. Randomly looses connection to the router for long amount of period of time I'm talking 2-5 hours mainly sometimes even more. Sometimes it could happen for days

    2. Customer services is literally one of the worst thing, sometimes they don't even know any information about their own broadband example being they sent someone out to "fix" our router and the guy had no idea what a default IP was so he could log into the router

    3. The Upload & Download speed you get sold with the broadband you only receive a quarter of what you actually paid for.

    4. Highly recommend if you're someone who plays games to stay as far away as possible from Utility Warehouse Broadband as it blocks ports that thousands of games require meaning almost every game will have connection drop issue meaning you will be booted midway through games or you'll be hard lock into NAT Type 2/3 where when gaming online you always want to be NAT Type 1

    5. 90% of the time if you want to watch YouTube or any form of video/streaming you're force to watch in 720p instead of 1080p60fps because of what i said in point 3

I've had pretty much every single Broadband you can name from Sky, BT, Virgin & now to Utility Warehouse and i can truly say Virgin is crap but Utility Wareehouse is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to terrible Boardbands. Please stay clear from them only two i would advise would be Sky or BT as they actually have decent up/download speeds and you get what you pay for, Virgin is the same but they run maintenances a lot meaning you get randomly disconnected from your router.

Nil stars would be too many. Simply not getting the speed I'm paying for, supposed to get minimum 31mbps, lucky if I get 15. Said the uprated router might help, but charged for the privilege, changed plans without authorisation with added cost. Customer services eventually stopped advising, saying there was no problem. Home phone is very tempermental, will not accept calls from EE mobile numbers.

Broadband is forever cutting out. When you call the customer service team all they suggest is getting a new router every time. If your connection fails between Saturday 16:30 and Monday 7.59 then you're completely buggered because they are closed, no out of hours provided.
We upgraded to ultra last year and no difference than before.

Was with NowTV and perfectly happy. Moved broadband to Utility Warehouse as I could fix energy prices at a better price than elsewhere.

Broadband is a total joke - constantly disconnecting from the internet, constantly losing Wi-Fi connection. A hour doesn’t go by without having to reboot the router. Am on second router now, exact same problems. With government new energy deal, I’m not even saving any money over another company but stuck into a contact with awful broadband. Customer service line has been quite attentive, but can’t resolve the issue. Don’t take this product.

Just taken on Utility Warehouse Ultra + home phone and broadband this week. I received the router within the promised five working days. It was very easy to set up and working within 10 minutes. Am getting speeds of up to 75 download and 18 upload. Signal steady and reliable. Our grandson who likes some hefty gaming is even happy with good strong levels upstairs and down. Very pleased.

This is by far and away the WORST WiFi I have ever had the displeasure of being connected to, you can’t even watch a simple YouTube video in 480p without it buffering, I could do that with a doddle when YouTube was invented!! It randomly goes on strike every few hours and completely cuts out, absolute disgrace.

Broadband was diabolical when we first signed up a number of years ago, couldn't get us connected for nearly 1 month so we came out of the contract.
Since the news of energy bills raising so much, we decided to give them another go after recommendations by a friend.
Still no change in the company, Internet is absolute rubbish and as far as getting back in touch with you within 4 working days of receiving an email, UW haven't replied to my wifes email of over 3 weeks ago and so far mine neither that was sent to them nearly 1 week ago.

Been with UW since 2008 and they were a revelation back then and still are in my opinion.
Electricity is cheapest in the UK (check any price comparison site to see if you can find a cheaper price) and the free LED light bulbs is a genuine one - we had 115 lightbulbs installed at no cost in 2019 and if they break (and they do) free replacements are sent out within a day or two.
We can't get gas as we're out in the wilderness. Their mobiles are fine as they piggyback on O2 network.
The cash back card is brilliant - usually knocks £30-£40 per month off my utility bill.
Broadband is great - typically 32Mb download despite being miles from anywhere.
I'm really surprised to read of so many problems people have had with UW as my experience has been great.
The problems others have found with their broadband may be due to a few reasons that I can think of.
    1. UW having to use BT/Openreach equipment in the exchange local to the customer. If the local exchange is LLU (local loop unbundled) then that means UW and other providers can put their equipment into the exchange. If it's not LLU then every provider is stuck with BT equipment. You can check this on www.Samknows.com
Certainly when we swapped from BT to UW in 2008 our broadband speed jumped by more than 50% overnight as it was UW kit in the exchange.
    2. The second problem (my parents had this) was 'contention ratio' which is how many homes and businesses are connected to the internet at the local exchange and many people are using internet enabled devices in each of these homes and businesses. Think about how many new housing estates have been built nearby and how many kids there are all with games consoles, streaming Netflix, Spotify and so on. My parents orifginal broadband would be about 4Mb during the day then when the kids came home from school it was unusable at maybe 0.2Mb. Not UWs fault - it was a 100% BT/Openreach exchange and was not LLU so UW (and all other providers) had to use BT/ Openreach equipment and could do nothing about it.
    3. The last problem I can think of (we had this when we lived in Worcester and wanted to upgrade to fibre) could be that all high speed connections in the local exchange (or the green BT cabinet nearby) may already be taken in which case there is no additional capacity.
I'm not a telecomms engineer so no expert but I have had great service and reliability, cheap prices and can't see myself ever moving away from UW. I'm just sorry to hear so many people haven't had the great experience I've had.

Dear Utility Wearhouse customer service please understand that people have lots of difficulties to pay bills. Don't ask your client who wants to cancel broadband contract "Don't you have smart TV?" Honestly I don't but don't make me less of a person that I don't. Kind regards

So from the start the WiFi connection has been shocking slow speeds the lot. Phoned up and we ended up going for a higher per month price in order to get a better router as they stated there was nothing wrong with the connection so money spent at still as bad absoulty awful router is at the bottom of the stairs in a standard 3 bed council house and I can't get a decent connect in the half the router is in the other half of the house keeps cutting in and out all the time upstairs I don't connect at all

Absolute scandal of a company. Have just left them and they are trying to bill me for another full month of services that I no longer have provision or contract or services for. They have also tried to add a £10 disconnection fee! Absolute scandal, they are child of TalkTalk so no wonder they are a nasty evil provider who do not believe in letting customers leaving and will do anything it takes to grab extra money off you. Best advice - never sign up to them in the first place - thieves and scoundrels.
