Absolute joke of a company - do yourself a massive favour and avoid them! They may advertise the best speeds but honestly, ignore it. Whats the point of having super fast broadband if the broadband itself is broken?

I've been with these guys for 3 weeks - in that time, I've had no service for 2 weeks. I've been lied to about fix times, lied to about the reason for a fault, told I'll be called back and never was, told one thing by one person, only to have the next person tell me it wasn't true.

Honestly, you can't trust anything these guys say. Just take a look at their Facebook wall and you'll see how many complaints they get.

Don't be taken in by awesome speeds as I was. Their broadband simply doesn't work and they haven't got a clue why.

I've had a broadband fault for THREE MONTHS and Virgin is unable to fix it.

I'm calling Virgin for the 16th time today (I wish I was joking!) and they still don't know what the problem with my broadband is. It is dropping every single day, many times, sometimes for half an hour, for no specific reason. Each person on the phone tells me the same learned formula, and I wait for 8 minutes listening to music. They have no idea and keep telling me things are fine at their end, or keep checking something for weeks with no results, or just transfer me to other people who also say the same learned formulas. This is now over three months that this is happening. No results.

They have sent an 'engineer' to my property to check the phone. He checked that the phone was fine (but I still hear cracking noise on the line!). Then he said he has no idea about the broadband and told me that I know more than he does. He rushingly called his colleague, telling him on the phone 'you did the broadband course, right?' and has managed to get some VERY GENERAL information from this guy, which summed up to what I already knew - that my internet is not working. Thanks, Virgin, that it took you three months to determine that my internet is not working. This is a genius discovery.

    I'm changing a provider today.

The fact that I only give them one star is because zero isn't available first they tried taking payment wrong date then after recalling it because it wasn't my bill date I had set a date to ring up and pay been informed my services will work as normal n ther will be no restrictions on my account not only was it a double payment which I wasn't informed about then I was lied to only to wake up a couple days later to my services being restricted and told to get it. Ack on I have to pay money I don't have it's a joke first they miss the payment date then take it out on a wrong day then then they lie then restrict my services and expect a payment on the day to resolve it which as I was told wasn't gonna happen so now I'm left with no services and a bill of 65 pound to pay for while not having my services on for nearly a month not to mention they haven't dealt with my previous network company like they said and I ended up having to pay line rental from both broadband providers for one month to then be told If I cancel I have to pay yet more money coz that all that company is bothered about it's not about the services or the customers it's about how much money they can steal off you your and mine hard earned money is better off being spent for services you'll actually receive never heard of such terrible customer service and service in total if stay away

Virgin has to be the worst company ever I was supposed to get installed today. The guy came to my house said you do not have a virgin in your area. If I knew this I wouldn’t have signed up online and then the guy asked me to do the to help him with the wiring to get connected. I wasn’t sure if it be turned on today. I told him I don’t work for virgin. It’s not my job I called customer service up terrible company I didn’t even get the service and it was terrible, but I didn’t get the service. I would never go with them so I stayed decided to stay with Sky for him I do not work for virgin And I do not want to get electric shock. Never ever ever ever ever get virgin. Terrible customer service terrible service in general all around. Even if they offered me 10 years for free all lifetime for free I still wouldn’t take it

    Very bed services,
Initially even they didn’t provide broadband kit on time, have called to customer care for delivery of kit and they tells that we don’t have any updates event they don’t have any update from Yodel who are their delivery partners and When I asked to them for Yodels number they gave me common number and application shows that parcel will be deliver in between 2 to 4 but there were not any single person came for courier, Initially they will not provide good services then how we can trust on them for after customer care services, very worst and blunder services of virgin media as well as their Delivery partner Yodel. Very bed.minus star….for me not even 1 star.

I've been with Virgin Media for close to two years. I missed my chance to cancel the contract after the first year following the fake promises done by their customer service and so called managers. On bad days I get speeds of 0.01 with broadband constantly dropping. I live close to the biggest financial center in London and yet they cannot have a decent service and have never bothered to fix it in any way.

Bottom line is, following my experience with Virgin Media I will make sure to stay away from anything with the Virgin brand. The lack of care for the customer and the disservice make it one of the worst broadband experiences I have ever come across.

    Stay away from it!

    Absolutely horrendous company
In a sea of bad reviews, I hope this one stands out to anyone considering being a virgin media customer, my advice is don’t, you will regret it.

Cancelled my service back in October as was tired of paying money to a company with such a bad service & even worse customer service. It then became a battle of will's who would give up first in the end had to cancel direct debt to stop them taking money. when you make a complaint, you are just lied to or ignored

So, as you have not even had the common decency to acknowledge my emails or even telephone me as requested. I have now used my banks direct debt guarantee to recover part of this debt. My advice to anyone owed money to do the same it’s easy & the moneys returned within 24 hours none of this 30 day rubbish.

£258.83 has now been refunded back to my account, I look forward to the rest of my refund which no doubt I will have another long fight over.
I had been a customer of virgin media for almost 20 years & the service & respect over the last few years has been disgraceful. Your conduct in this whole matter has been disgraceful & disrespectful. I would not consider using this company & would never recommend virgin media to anyone.

I would like you to call me. Which you won't. I will be taking this to the ombudsman very soon. And I will be leaving this review everywhere I can until this is sorted, as a warning to new customers.

I am sending all information to the BBC rip off Britain team with a link to the reviews on this site, I would ask everyone to do the same, maybe this will shame this company into doing the right thing for its customers
    Complaint number is C-090321234

After two separate delays (due to lack of and inadequate initial survey) totalling over a month for the installation of my broadband, we discovered that our technician was installing our router in the wrong part of our house.

After calling customer service, the second person we spoke to after half an hour of explaining our issue started trying to talk to us about alternative package offers, despite us saying that we just wanted to have our issue resolved. He then said they would add a box onto our current package for no extra cost (without explaining what it actually was), and 5 minutes later he said "this will incur an extra £30 plus charge" and it was incredibly difficult for us to respond that we didn't want this. As soon as it was found we didn't want to purchase anything in addition, he then transferred us to tech support (so was obviously uninterested in / not his remit to solve the issue we had been discussing for the last 30 minutes and merely wanted to make a sale).

We eventually got thought so someone who quite emphatically promised us we would be rang and seen by the technician the very same day by 5pm. As a result of this I had to leave work and remain in the house all day. No call or visit came. We then rang the next day to enquire why this had happened, and we were now assured we would receive a call and visit from the technician by the end of the working day for the second time, and a further promise that we would be called back at 9pm by customer service to ensure this issue had been resolved. Not one call from either party came, this after staying in waiting for the technician AGAIN.

I have recieved 3 guarantees of a call and visit, and 3 times I have been outright and maliciouslylied to by Virgin customer supprt, and actively missed work as a result. Negligence is one thing but to be lied to on multiple occasions which has had active consequences for me is entirely another. It hasn't even been 48 hours, and I am now preparing to terminate my contract with Virgin, and can safely say this is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with not to mention the fact that the range of my router is far worse than the several year old sky one I have been using previously. AVOID.

I’ve been 2 hours on “hold” - no one couldn’t help me.

I’ve been transferred twice and still have not received proper answer, no one doesn’t know how to change monthly package - it’s ridiculous(after 2 hours of waiting).

Nobody is not responsible for nothing and just searching how to transfer you to someone else.

The quality of “customer” service it’s the same as quality of the internet
After 2 hours on hold Shelby pick up the phone and she was extremely rude .When we wanted to change monthly payments she was repeating herself twice that we agreed to that .When I said that I was talking with your colleague on September she said no , I didn’t speak to anyone since 2018 !
After 5 times asking her to change the contract to a cheaper one she offered “the cheapest one “ for 42 but on your website the cheapest one for 27 pounds!

Well it all started one shiny morning, when my virgin broadband stopped working, i looked out of the window to see virgin van outside and guys digging something in the pavement, i went out and they said they damaged the cable but going to fix it. Well they didnt, so i called customer service and they sent the guy next working day to see it, the guy came and said what i already knew, the cable is damaged and the new one needs to be put in, they have set the date in 2 weeks to do that.
Well, one day before the installation date i got a call saying that they are not coming due to some construction works needed to be done. And set yet another date in 2 weeks time, so 1 month from the day they(themselves) damaged the cable. Remember im without internet for 2 weeks already and we knew at first day that this has to be done. So i called Virgin and questioned that, they apologised and passed me to the tech team, who said dont worry we are going to send another tech guy tomorrow and he will fix it temporarily until we fix it properly 2 weeks later.
The guy came next day and what do you think he said? yet again the same words that the cable is damaged and new one has to be put in, i gave up calling after that, as i could see there is no point so i was waiting another 2 weeks, 1 month in total for them to come and fix it. do you think there is a happy ending? well you are optimistic.
the evening before Virgin were to come to fix it ( 1 month after the fault was reported) i called their customer service just to confirm that everything is going ahead and someone is finally coming, and to check the time frame when.
The customer services dropped the line 2 times, then when i finally got through, they couldnt answer, so passed me to tech team? they couldnt answer or confirm anything as well, so i was passed to construction department, and the answer i got: oh we actually are not coming tomorrow, someone should have called you( nobody did) as we cant do it, we have to do construction works and it can take up to 6-8 weeks. At that point i was truly shocked as i couldnt believe its all happening. So i asked to cancel my account, i must admit this is the only efficient and quick thing i got from Virgin, i was told that my services are disconnected within probably 2 minutes, no questions asked.

To summarise, Avoid at all costs, appalling absolutely shocking service all the way through, thats me being their customer for a few years.

BUYER BEWARE. If you start having issues from the onset ENSURE that you cancel within 14 days - You will be VERY relieved.

They Messed up the install - 1st Engineer dissapeared and took a 2nd engineer and 4 hours to fix. The 2nd Engineer turned up with a 'manager' and apologised as they are having this issue often.

Didn't add the 3 months free Sky cinema subsription I was promised (was even written on the paperwork I signed). The customer service rep even stated that they have an ongoing issue with the sales people outright lying to customers. The rep did eventually add this to the package though.

Customer Service failed to call me back after promising to do so - their systems weren't working hence why they offered to call back in the first place.

The '100mb/s boost' turned out to be around 3mb/s in the evenings which was absolutely shocking as my Sky standard ADSL (not fibre optic) which was still connected at the time was running FASTER! Turns out that although Virgin advertise the fastest internet in the UK they do NOT guarantee any minimum speeds, all the other big fibre optic companies do - Don't take my word for it, do your research.

When I rang to cancel, I waited and jumped through all the hoops and was then told that I needed to call the cancellation department to cancel as customer service couldn't do it... I then explained that I had called that same number read out to me and pressed all the correct options for cancellation... suddenly they were then able to cancel.

Recevied a bill for £110 2 days after I had cancelled despite being specifically told that no charges would be incurred as I had cancelled within the 14 days. Called up and they then told me to ignore this and cancel the direct debit.

Was then left a message the next day stating that I still owed them 41p for phone calls. I have never had a phone connected at my property before or during my horrible experience with Virgin Media. I honest can't get over the fact that they were charging me for making phone calls when I don't even have a landline phone connected? If this isn't a red flag for a company, I'm not sure what is.

Really disappointed - The sales guy even admitted that the TV channel options didn't come close to Sky and sold it purely on broadband speed and reliability hence the £5 more a month I would be paying instead of a similar package with Sky.

We changed from sky that has never ever let us down, it was fast too! We changed because virgin was cheaper and that was the biggest mistake ever!

It keeps turning off, it's slow, I use my data more than the wifi! Waste of money in my opinion!

I would never recommend Virgin Media to anybody... we have had virgin in our house for several years now and the quality just gets worse and worse.
We have been having problems with having no internet, so we called the customer service team to be told that during peak times the internet will be slow. However they should tell you that it will always be slow, we normally get a download speed of 15mbs, which considering we pay for 200mbs is appalling. We have had several engineers out to make sure that it was not our 'SUPER HUB', but apparently there is nothing wrong with it. We then called to complain again and they told us they can send us the newest addition of the 'SUPER HUB' which is giving us less internet than before and only allows you to get access in the room that the hub is in. But they still say that it is because so many people use it at peak time, considering it is currently 7.30am and I cannot load a 5 minute video and I am the only person in the house it is just not acceptable. When we call to try and cancel they just 'upgrade' our internet and tell us that there will be a charge if we choose to leave. If you are thinking about changing your broadband to virgin media please don't it is over priced and a waste of time!

Please Avoid Virgin Media. Worst Internet provider with awful customer service ever (hung up on me). Not recommended. Even not worth a single star. You don't need this BS in your life.

I called Virgin Media customer service 4 times and each time I asked for the end-of-contract confirmation by email/post. However, each time I end up speaking with India, the last Indian guy (employee number: B7919632) was so rude and did not listen to my request and hung up on me. After 3 weeks, yet to receive the confirmation. I raised a complaint to Ofcom. Worst Internet provider with awful customer service ever.

This company is owned by thieves and I regret being a customer for so many years. 1 star is too much to give them for what trouble they done to me. When my contract expired I called and told them I want to close my account and move elsewhere. Before that we had very bad internet connection, every time I called their engineers only told me to restart and restart the router, that’s all they knew. When I decided to close my account, the agent said they would send an engineer at our house to see what is wrong but first we must sign the renewal contract. It just seemed strange to us and decided to close completely. Got some calls back but kept refusing them. All good until we had to return their equipment. One of their people came to our house on 10th of February, he took the router, didn’t give us any proof of collection and left. He said we should receive confirmation of collection by email which we never received!!!! Since that day we’ve been haunted with emails, messages, calls and visits to return the equipment or pay the charge. I called numerous time to explain that it was returned, they never did anything. Just kept telling us to return it or pay it. I have absolutely no proof from that collection day. They are thieves and I’m completely disgusted with this company. I received another letter to pay the charge now. I just don’t know what else to do in my situation. I complained by phone and in written, they just don’t care. They got the equipment and they want the money as well. That’s great, probably this is their client retention policy. I regret being their client for so many years and in return being treated this way. Everyone just avoid this company, there are many companies who have much better prices and services and customer service. Virgin media is a very bad company and I already advised all my friends and family to move elsewhere. This is what they deserve, thieves!!!!

Biggest pile of rubbish company I've ever used, meant to pay £9 a month for unlimited texts/calls + 2gb data and instead got charged £54 on my first bill for using 1gb over my data usage baring in mind the 4gb data contract is £18 and I got charged £54 for 3gb.

My 60 Mb cable deal has a maximum speed of 8Mb, the superModem does not reach 10m (admittedly from the groundfloor to the first floor), the connection to the internet breaks up all the time (I had over a dozen cut-outs since the afternoon). Each time I call technical services, the response is "reboot the router", followed by "I fixed the server now". I then get a derisory 3quid off my next bill. They don't solve the problem.
I had an "engineer" out twice, who told me that it must be a problem with (whatever), and if I want to get another "engineer" out, I have to pay them 100 quid.

I was promised fast and reliable broadband, and for the benefit of 45 quid a month, I get neither.

As soon as my street gets cable from a different provide, we're off. Pathetic customer service.

RUBBISH! VM is so bad. Internet is often down and what is it with blocking harmless sites? VM love blocking sites and they absolutely love giving a crappy service. I now have to go and convince my family to abandon VM. Hate it.

HORRENDOUS. Avoid at all costs. They are impossible to contact - you have to wait on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes if you need to contact them for anything (renewals, service issues, complaints etc)
BEWARE, they will take advantage and exploit you.
I renewed my contract after being told that I could transfer my package to my new address if I moved home. I'm finally buying my first home, only to find out they can't supply that area, therefore I must pay around £248 to terminate the contract. I explicitly told them not to cancel and to just provide services to the area, but they force your hand and blame you for breaking the agreement, even though it is THE COMPANY who can't hold up their end of the deal.
Furthermore, the wifi box is not reliable, so I submitted a report about that, only to be told that they won't do anything about it as I will be leaving my home in 6 weeks, so now I am a fully paying customer who will not receive any help.
All this, during a pandemic and a housing crisis. Truly vile company, don't be fooled as I was, stick with BT! They DON'T charge you if they can't supply an area and actually have decent contact forms.

VirginMedia are the Mafia of the broadband world Following the procedure to cancel the contract and having spoken with the customer services, I was told that the service was disconnected and I wont be charged extra from that point on wards.
They still took £56 pounds , upon calling them I am told, account is still active and will stay active for another 3 months. Been on the call with different departments for past 1.5hrs.
They then leave you on hold for you to get so frustrated that you hang up and they keep robbing you further. Please avoid these thieves . Virgin Media , you are the worst services provider across UK

The most ignorant support ever going, i had notified them by phone of the lousy b band that i was getting, over a period of 3 months, i cancelled the service when they told me that they would give me the fastest b band for the same money, i did not want this, they are obviously aware that the speed of b band they advertise is not true. trading standards and Ofcom should get involved, i cancelled my b band giving them more than 30 days notice, they then put on my credit file that i was a bad payer, that is yet another lie. I will never use them ever again. to add insult to injury they demanded that i sent the modem that i was given for free when i joined 2 years earlier.

Just installed vip TV package & broadband. Within 2 hours I am face with no Internet & limited tv chanels. Contact virgin via 150 transfered to a technical who ask me to turn the box off for 2 minutes.carried some checks after turning on TV no changes to chanels. Suggest engineer visit 5 day wait, transfer to broadband department they suggested an engineer visit 5 day's. Request to speak to manager I was told there no managers available. Suggested cancel contract I was put through to customers relations to a smug young man by the name luke somewhere in Wales who wasn't interested in dealing with my problem. Rang 150 customers relations ask for a manager told all managers were in meetings. Told that he would contact installation team regional manager who will in turn contact me ASAP. I am still waiting. Looks like a good Advert for both SKY And BT.

The worst internet provider I've ever used.

I moved into a house 3 months ago, after leaving my job to work online. I rely on my internet for my income.

Internet constantly drops out. And I've gone days without any service. For the privilege I have to wait 30 minutes for someone to answer the phone, to not fix the problem. And still charge me.

I wish I could do the same to my customers and sleep at night.

I've been connected to my neighbors (SKY) for 3 days on and off to get my work done.

Without them, I would literally not be able to pay my mortgage.

    Absolute joke.

They sold me broadband on a 30 day rolling contract for £35 with a £70 activation fee. On the day the broadband was supposed to be live, after an hour or so on the phone to support, I found that the virgin media cable was hanging down outside the house blowing in the wind. It took an engineer visit to sort this out and the connect started late.

As if this wasn't bad enough, during the sales call I was assured I could add a phone line on later on, bringing the total cost of services to £42 per month. I called literally 3 days later to act upon this agreement and found they wanted a £25 activation fee for the line, and they wouldn't honour the agreed price and wanted to up my charges to £43.75 per month.

As my father says, it's the big companies you have to watch out for these days. They cheat and lie and say whatever they need to get the sale, and treat you like rubbish after that.

Don't even bother going with this provider. After almost 10 years of being with them the 1st time I use customer service will be the last. All I can say is disgusting. Shame there is no loyalty anymore. Companies like this deserve to go under. And stay there. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTANT.
I will be cancelling all subscriptions with Virgin shortly.
