Four years fibre broadband with EE & later, sky. Their routers connected and stayed connected at around 34 to 35 me.
For a week this was the same with Vodafone then it dropped to just over 27 then fell in stages to 22.4 - which by an amazing coincidence is the exact minimum speed for their service level agreement.
in short their support staff said there's nothing they can't do anything about it. They can't raise a fault report as it's within their minimum speed guarantee.
DO NOT FALL FOR THE DEALS THEY OFFER! - THEY ARE CHEAPER FOR A REASON - ALMOST HALF THE SPEED OF OTHERS & VERY POOR TECHNICAL BACKUP.

Customer service quite poor i wouldn't recommend them. With one or two exceptions i was promised call backs that never came ,was given information that was wrong and simple problems took an age to sort out.

I signed up for 30GB/month data only , 1 year contract for mobile broadband with Vodafone . This was to use mainly abroad at our holiday home in continental Europe plus on other holidays. Unfortunately I soon realized that I was getting less than the half of the data amount I was paying for. I understand that all other operators (O2, Three etc) clearly state that you can only use a proportion of you data allowance in EU mainland... Vodafone kept saying that they were allowing me to use whole 30GB abroad which was not true . The data were disappearing from my monthly allowance even if we were not switching the mifi device on... Anyway I kept paying for this substandard service for the whole year and stopped my DD as soon as the contract expired. Called them 2 weeks later and was told tha they will still charge me for the whole month after the contact finished as I was supposed to give them 30 days notice. Their T&C clearly state that you can cancel the contract " without termination fee if the service is poor for unreasonable amount of time " Well, the service was "poor" for the whole year... and the contract has ended up already but they still want more money!. STAY AWAY

Terrible, frankly criminal usage system that makes it very easy to slip up and go over your limit and then they charge you utterly extortionate amounts. Their online and phone services are a ridiculous bureaucracy. EE has a much saner system.

The service must be one of the worst going since day one I have had nothing but problems with this Internet provider I have had about 50 technicians, to my property and one technician says they do not know what the problem is but they can't rectify for home broadband and landline service Vodafone has to be worst but I have to say I have never had a problem on your cell network they should just stay with the cellular side of the network

Vodafone broadband is basically a scam, don't ever opt into it. I have had it for 2 years and it only "kind of" worked within the first 1-2 months probably.Rest if the times I used hotspot. I was bound to a contract so couldn't opt out the 1st year without a penalty so had to wait. I am located in central London (zone 2 to be exact) and it was very poor connection speed even though the signal showed it was strong. Don't do this to yourself, it's a waste of time, money and mental energy.

Hey if you're reading this you're probably looking into replacing your broadband with 5G? If so all I can advise is don't, especially with vodafone. Now I was shocked to see how high the rating was but look a little deeper and all the positive reviews look fake. The speed is piss poor, it drops out contstantly and you're looking at an hour each time to speak to customer support. Want to cancel after you've already signed up (and they've lied continuously about how its going to improve next week), forget it because they state they will charge you the remaining balance on the contract. It's an absolute joke and honestly if just one person reads this and decides against it I'll consider that a success.

Vodafone, you're an absolute embarassment and I will never use another one of your services

Switched from sky, was getting 8mps and a connection that was constantly dropping. Now on 40mps and a flawless connection.... no complaints at all, switching was easy and it was cheap as chips!!! Love the UK call centre too

We switched from BT when our 12 month Infinity 1 contract was ending. They offered us Infinity 1 again on a 2 year contract for £44 a month. We said no thanks, as that seemed expensive, and we hadn’t found their customer service all that great either.

We signed up with Vodafone because they were offering a very competitive deal - 76Mbps for 18 months at £30 a month with no setup charges.

Our broadband didn’t work on the switchover date so we rang Vodafone the next day. It turned out this was because BT had transferred the wrong phone number across. A very patient and helpful Vodafone engineer sorted everything out over the phone that morning.

The speed was up and down initially but after a week or so it stabilised at a constant 76Mbps or thereabouts. broadband.co.uk's website says Vodafone broadband is unlimited not truly unlimited, but Vodafone’s online documents say traffic management doesn’t apply to fibre, and that is borne out by our experience.

The Vodafone Connect router is fine, but we live in a large house with thick walls, and the wifi signal had been a little bit better in the room furthest away from the router using the BT Smart Hub, than it was with the Vodafone router. We asked Vodafone for our broadband username and password using online chat and were given them no problem, but then the Smart Hub wouldn’t accept them. We’ve still managed to use the Smart Hub to transmit wifi around our house however, by connecting it to the Vodafone router with a network cable, after following some very simple instructions in an online expertreviews article about using a BT Home Hub with another ISP. This resolved the issue at no cost, but the option was there to use a different router instead if we’d wanted.

BT charged us a £66 equipment fee for cancelling their contract 4 days early, but Vodafone have said they will cover the cost of that, after their 30 day trial period expires.

Vodafone have been excellent, and we highly recommend them.

The most unreliable internet provided ever! Connection keeps crashing.
Phone line stopped working for 2 months and customer service was unable to help determine what was happening. Then connection came back out of the blue.
Will definitely not renew my contract!

Avoid like bird flu!!!!!!!! Been with Vodafone broadband for 2 months. Constantly loosing signal. Been waiting 3 weeks for the problem to be solved by their technical team. They want the balance of the contract as a cancellation fee for a service (internet connection) that they are not providing...........stay as far away as possible from them. Not worth the headache. Poor service!!

The worst broadband company I've ever dealt with. Don't be persuaded by the low prices. Took over 2 weeks of no braodband until it was up and running. Constant drop outs. Speed should have been 78mb - I was consistently receiving speeds of 76mb with EE. I'm lucky if it doesn't drop out every hour but am achieving speed of less than 25mb at all times - much slower at peak times. I've made 3 official complaints to them starting on 6th June - each time they tell me tech team will contact me within 72 hours but still waiting and it's 9th July. No apologies forthcoming and no offers of discounts. I'm waiting till my 8 weeks are up and contacting the ombudsman.

After months of trying to get Vodafone to stop texting me. I changed providers. Vodafone took weeks to give a PAK code, then my mobile was locked. Phone requests, emails and texts (even to their CEO) were all ignored - until I changed provider. I had my phone unlocked for £7 and today I had a call - from my provider - Vodafone!!

Whole time best scammers. Please dont go for this. They are not providing the complete data in the pack. Always facing technical issue which their team is not able to resolve. Just eating the money and customers are in trouble. I used to contact them on daily basis to resolve the connectivity issue.

I have took out a plan with Vodafone just over two weeks ago unfortunately we are in a position that we cannot get unlimited broadband locally so after a recommendation from the neightbour and the advise of the the store representative at currys that there is no option for more than 50GB we have picked your home wifi package which we were pretty happy with.

My understanding was that it cannot go over the 50GB limit or at least I would get notified if it did which is what would have happened if we also had a mobile connected to the account.

Our internet stopped working today so I quickly installed the app and to my surprise there was 65GB usage showing.

I have called vodafones advisor to ask regarding the usage potential addons etc he advised me that I have gone over and the extra 15GB will cost us close to 200 pounds.

I have tried to ask him to apply the add-on for this month as the month wasnt over so we have 65GB and a cap set for the future plus an online account so I can manage it better as I havent been suggested this before. He was insisting that I have to pay these charges.

If I knew I do not get notified I would have downloaded the app the least or if I was suggested an online account/data cap on our last call when I was trying to change the billing date I would have done that,

This was our first and probably last experience with vodafone as it stands I have cancelled our monthly deal now I am sorry it ended like this as the plan would have suited us with the additional 15GB add on but having to pay almost 200 pounds for a bill that should have only come to 50 is way too much and I do not feel like you they want your custom but your money.

I asked to speak to the manager but nobody would speak to me.

Hmm, notice I posted on 21 April! I don't normally do reviews, but Vodafone mobile broadband has deteriated. 10 minutes to open an email, if I can obtain a connection. I no longer find it a useable service, it's possible another area of the country may be ok. It's dire, rather like my mobile phone in 1993

When it works it's ok'ish. But after 12 years using mobile broadband (Nb. My former supplier doesn't cover my current living location), I'll have to arrange a landline type connection. Vodafone is ok'ish when it works, very unreliable

Thought I got a good deal with Vodahone mobile broadband hub-Mifi. Advertised speeds of up to 150mbs. Took it to various places inside and outside - Nowhere near that - Best I ever got was 35 outside.
It does not as advertised replace your fixed broadband. It is rarely about 8 mbs and often as low as 1.5 which it is now. Absolute rubbish. If you see any good offers for - this walk on by!

The best broadband switchover I've ever had. We had to switch from the appealing BT broadband service even though we were on "BT Infinity" package at the time. The switchover was excellent with no interruption other than changing over routers. Days later when I mentioned the connection occasionally dropping out, a U.K. Customer service rang back almost straightaway to talk me through switching the channel to 5Ghz. At the moment, I'm gobsmacked by the sheer perfection of service and the product and just hope it lasts! I would highly recommend Vodafone Beoadband

I got this PAYG dongle in November 2010 as I've moved house and needed broadband. This was a great deal at only £15 a month with 3GB allowance. Sadly, Vodaphone have reduced the monthly allowance to 2GB from 1st February 2011 so I'm desperately trying to find another provider to change back to 3GB. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS IF YOU NEED MORE THAN 2GB PER MONTH.

Move from BT due to increasing costs and variable download speed. We were away for the actual switch over but left the Vodafone router plugged in and switched on. On our return the internet download speed had jumped from 6 Mbps to a constant 37 Mbps at less than half the cost of the BT service and free landline to U.K. Mobile calls. So far, no outages. Brilliant - highly recommended.

This has to be the worst broadband I have ever had, It buffers on every device I have in the house it makes watching anything on TV on line services stressful to the point where you give up watching anything and watch normal TV. It keeps dropping off certain devices in the house at random

Most people here are complaining about about substandard broadband from Vodafone. I could even get connected to find out myself but if my experience is anything to go by I have not reason to doubt it would have been just as bad. I had my first order cancelled via text message with no reason give, I called and was told it was a system error. Vodafone then put another order through for me. This was after two weeks. Another two weeks went by and I received a message my router was being delivered today only to get another text message saying my order had been cancelled as there was no room in the exchange. So a fully wasted four weeks. I think the real reason why it was cancelled is that the £20 offer has proven so massively popular that they can't cope/are losing money. Also I went through a cash back site and I think they realized this and also decided to cancel. A more shoddy company I have not come across in many years. I will definitely avoid in the future and advise others to do so.

    Vodafone Gigacube

    Awful- don't bother

Intermittent connection at best and virtually non-existent at times.
Home working made ultra difficult by a company who don't really care about coverage.
Sell you something with 5g capability knowing you're unlikely to get 4g at best.
Customer service unhelpful and you're left paying a premium for a service which rarely delivers.
Bring on a permanent base so I can get home broadband

I would tell you about Vodafone broadband if I had ever actually managed to get it!! Initially ordered the start of January being told I wouldn't need to be at home to have it installed. However after engineer visit turns out I did need to be there. After numerous phones calls and waiting managed to get 2nd engineer visit arranged for the start of February. My mum came & waited in my house all day & no engineer turned up. Vodafone didn't even bother to phone & let me know. I have decided if this is a sign of things to come I should cancel before I get involved with a company who are completely disorganised & incompetent

Switched from BT Infinity 2 to VF as I've had my mobile contracts with them and they were very competitive with their Fibre deals. Sign-up was painless, however the line take-over was an utter shambles. Phone went over on day of switch, but no BB? At all. It eventually took 12 phone calls and 9 days to get it sorted - with VF blaming Openreach and vice versa. HOWEVER, now that I am connected, we're consistently getting 70 - 80Mb, however that does suspiciously appear to slow to 40(ish) in the evenings (- congestion??). We get a strong and consistent wi-fi signal with the smart-looking VF Hub (better than my old BT HUB4), and so far no disconnects - even with 7+ devices all connected at once (via dual band). The Hub 'BOOST' feature is excellent - allowing you to boost signal to a single device (i'e' for streaming / gaming). Re. their helplines, their staff answer the 'phones quickly (all 12 calls answered within 20 - 30 seconds or so), but I'd argue they need more training regarding how helpful they can be. They were always sympathetic and polite - just couldn't really give me any answers. Overall - now that I'm FINALLY up and running, I'm quietly impressed. Would have given 4 - 5 stars IF they hadn't have left me 'internet-less' for 9 whole days...

Okay, this is an update to my previous review, now we've had VF BB Fibre (and phone) up and running for 3+ months. Firstly, as a reminder as per my previous review, the original migration from BT was a stressful and sometimes laughable affair - taking 2 weeks, with no service, and daily "what is happening?" phone calls. They finally got it sorted (VF blamed Openreach, Openreach blamed VF, etc, etc) and 3 months on I'm happy to report the BB service itself is BETTER than my previous BT Infinity fibre. Connection is reliable (I'm only aware of 2 sub-10 minute drop-outs in 3 months), and average speeds are superb. With heavy household usage, we are averaging about 70Mbps (ish), with lows slowing to about 50-60, but highs often up to a whopping 80Mbps! My only gripe are infrequent (but noticeable) webpage responses/loading times. It's not that often, but occasionally there's a hesitancy to responses from servers when browsing. This could be a latency issue, as streaming is largely unaffected ('ping' times are usually around the 50ms mark - previous BT regularly around 20 - 30ms). However, as there is nobody here that's an online 'gamer' it's barely noticeable and hardly a deal breaker. Streaming of HD content is constant and reliable, even with a house full of ppl on various connected gadgets. A big plus to this is the ability to tweak the router to focus its attention on a single device (using the VF software). This is fab if you have a main device you want to prioritise (family room Smart TV, for example), however we've rarely needed to use it as bandwidth seems plentiful for our busy household. Finally, to top it off, the price for all of this, PLUS my home phone, is more than HALF what I was paying for BT Inf.2!! Was I happy with the transition from BT to VF? Erm..... NOOOOO. It was an absolute shambles, tbh. Am I happy 3 months on now the original mess finally got sorted? Yes - and if the speeds and reliability remain as constant, coupled with the solid router and competitive package pricing, I'll be staying with VF for a fair while I'd imagine......

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Slow unreliable and continually have to reboot. Wish I could go back to sky without being stuck on a long contract.

Re:- Colin Perthshire Vodafone Mobile Broadband 2016-11-26

This wonderful service can hardly be Mobile Broadband if its over the same line that BT were using ???

Re:- " After a couple of months, so far so good. Move from BT was seamless. We are in the Perthshire hills relying on a couple of miles of copper wire from the fibre box. Best we ever got from BT was around 1.4Mb. I find it amazing that Vodafone have been able to guarantee over 2Mb and are consistently delivering 3.5Mb. It's not exactly super fast, but it's better than BT........and its over the same line, and for half the price (for phone & broadband). I can only assume BT were slowing us down due to the volume of customers they have? "

Avoid like the plague, no where near the speed advertised. hours of wasted time on the support chat and over an hour on hold on the phone support. Engineer visit scheduled but no one showed. got told they had missed me but I work from home and hadn't left the house at all that day.

Ordered 76mb fibre in December 2016. Activation date was Jan 11th. January 11th came and nothing was working. Called up and they said it should be sorted by 12am. Next day it still wasn't activated so I got in touch with customer services who "checked the line" and said it had been activated and to restart the router and try again in 20mims. 30 mins later it still wasn't working so I called back and found out there was a delay and should be activated by 13th. 13th came and nothing happened so finally Vodafone got in touch with me and said don't worry an engineer will get it sorted by January 30th! Guess what? January 30th came and the work was "nearly complete" and would be ready by February 6th. It's now February 6th and the engineer is still resolving the problem (bear in mind we already had Fibre with Talk Talk so there really isn't a problem with the line). I've cancelled the order and will cancel my mobile contract on the back of their appalling service. This doesn't even include the number of calls I've had to make to get a straight answer or solve even the most simple problems. I would strongly recommend avoiding Vodafone Home Broadband unless you're willing to go through a lot of hassle.
