Very unreliable with Internet speeds far below the advertised ones. In the evenings I cannot watch TV over IP as the download speeds are very low.

Improved once we upgraded.
Moving house was a little hard work especially as we moved on the same street and the process took a long time but once up and running all was well.

I have over 10 years experience of Direct Save Telecom. They always solve the problems we get in a rural area where we are lucky to get more than 2mbs.Their technicians are patient and easy to understand. I wonder if some of the rude reviews are the result of the manner in which some customers address the staff?

I have been with direct save phone and broadband, for 3 yrs, I have not had a lot of reason to contact them, but resonantly I had a problem with modem,(I did not know this at the time of phoning)I can not fault the service given, fast and efficient. Best I have ever had from any supplier's in the past, and I am in my 60s.

Be very careful with these people.
I went thinking it was the cheapest only to find I can have Fiber broadband chaper! At 10+ times the speed.
When the hit and miss internet service fails - you can not get a response from them.
Then when they roll you over onto a new contract they add charges for additions (evening and w/end calls) you did not ask for and then when you terminate with them they charge you for Administration fees! of £19.50. Very Poor. Will not ever use again.

CS advisors do not announce there name when taking a call. for older folk or people who struggle with internet its ok. im in my first day still so wont say bout speeds as fluctuate normally first week. biggest failings are the lack of proper router with all the login info to keep your new router secure. its like they only want you to use there router on defaults no change to passwords as no clear info to change it as we are advised by any and everyother provider they advise you first thing to do is change the default passwords not this one tho another talk talk wanting to get hacked or even sell your info then blame it on lack of security. a joke and glad i can cancel without fees. super polite etc but cant trust a company that witholds vital details that every other provider gives you as a point .

Extremely bad customer service. I received a faulty power socket adapter so couldn't connect and only 2 weeks later I found out that this was the problem. They sent me a new adapter but wouldn't refund me for the line costs of the first 2 weeks.

Just renewed with them for another year, at the end of previous 21 year contract. Being 80 years old I am not particularly computer literate but they have always sorted my queries with speed, efficiency and politeness. (Haven't rated Broadband speed as I have no idea what it is.)

Just had a letter from Direct Save as I am leaving them on 6 April and said that they have calculate that you have 18 months left on your contract and we estimate that your termination fee to be £270.00. So I phoned them and said I was not in contract as it ended last month so have now put it in the hands of Ofcom. As after the contract ended it should be on a month basis. I would never go back to them as had trouble with them from the start as had to phone to see where the modem was and it was late being set up then the modem did not connect to the internet and found out the modem was not set up right and found that out on Monday and the broadband was meant to go on Friday

They steal from you even after your contract is over…
I used Direct Save back in my old property as at the time, it was the only provider that did a monthly rolling contract which suited the house share situation I was in. At the time of signing up, they told me over the phone that I can either send a letter to cancel the contract or just cancel my direct debit. All sounds great at this point, but straight away things go downhill. I receive the box thinking I'm pretty much set to go, but there was about a week of them faffing about on their end until we eventually got connection, even then it was slow speeds and decided to stop working several times a week for over two years (please note that the customer service has always been awful and I have never been satisfied after calling them).
At the end of my tenancy, I cancel my direct debit as originally advised thinking I have cancelled my contract (as they told me it would). About a month later I receive a phone call saying that I owe them money, which at this point I tell them that I cancelled my direct debit as instructed, and they didn't say anything more about it.
Over a year after that incident and hearing absolutely nothing from Direct Save (despite the fact that they have my telephone number), I receive a phone call from a 3rd party debt collection firm demanding that I pay them money to Direct Save. Unwillingly I paid the fine but am now trying to get a refund as I feel as though I was wrongly accused and am paying for their own mistakes.
Avoid this provider at all costs, you're better off having no internet than the crappy internet and worst possible service that they provide. They have caused much headaches for me over the past few years and I'm surprised they're still allowed to operate.

This company is a farce, they are inept in every manner and provide a diabolical service. They have cut off a disabled vulnerable person who needs the phone line for her care call and emergency care line due to being extremely vulnerable and even after three calls and them saying it is our fault you should not have been cut off, but there is nothing more we can do! Reconnect instantly would be what you ethically should do! They are putting my mothers life at risk and has caused us stress, upset and worry not just to her daughter but her as well she has been so stressed, upset and is worrying, how can a company be allowed to run in this manner, disgusting, despicable and deplorable they can get away with it! AVOID them as they are cold money grabbers who have no care or compassion for their customers!!!!!!!! Horrid company

Excellent!! That's all I can say after being a customer of well known provider and being totally cheesed off with them, price rises , trying to contacting them spending ages on the phone. Direct save is a pleasure to deal with. We have had no problems, with Internet or phone. They give a detailed itemised bill & customer service have been good . We have just recommend friends.

Please read some reviews before taking a contract. We didn't and we conveniently went active on final day of our "cooling off period" to find our broadband was between 1& 3 mb. Their only advice was to go fibre optic. This made no sense money wise but they where only interested in charging £360.00 if we broke our contract. An absolutely useless lot, not even sure if they are a real company but please AVOID!!!

After leaving EE Broadband, which i have been with for some time and looking for a new provider, I came across Direct Save Telecome on a comparison website for home phone and broadband. After seeing the price and thinking how good it was i visited the website, read all the details and signed up for Broadband Opt 1 with them, on signing up i filled out all my information and received an email from them (this email never said anything about a router being delivered, just presumed this would happen). A few days later i received a letter from them in the post with all the details of the contract i had signed up to, i checked this and everything seemed fine to go ahead and i was just waiting on the delivery off the router. On this letter though there was no live date, so i was left wondering when this live date was, was i to be left with no internet ?
I signed up to Direct Save Telecome on the 02/01/2018, on the 10/01/2018 i still had not received a router from them but instead received a letter with a go live date of the 19/01/2018 and an INVOICE which stated it would be taken out of my account on 14/01/2018 - I hadn't even gone live yet, no router had arrived, but this wasn't the only problem, the invoice was for a lot more than i had signed up for, they had added extra charges on already and i hadn't even gone live with them !
After reading peoples reviews on this company i was appalled to see what they were really like and realised i would be experiencing many more problems with them, i phoned my bank straight away to cancel my direct debit, i then phoned Direct Save Telecom to cancel with them - the lady who answered the phone was very rude, her tone was appalling and she wasn't very interested in speaking to me as soon as i said i wanted to cancel.
So glad i visited this website and read all the reviews before my router arrived and before the go live date.
Any one thinking off going with Direct Save Telecom AVOID ! I would not recommend this company to anyone.
AVOID AVOID AVOID

What they fail to tell you is after the VAT and added cost they are no cheaper than their competitors and unlike a larger company have no real customer service. I am going to quit.

Do not get a contract with DirectSave whatever you do. My mother I'd not fluent in English. Thinking they were her previous providers they got her to sign up to a contract with them over the phone even though she did ask them are you (the name of the previous provider). I called and explained this, they said the contract has been agreed and that's it. They lied and mislead her.
The broadband service itself is very poor, slow and unreliable. Connection drops etc. Customer service is rubbish, no help at all, they act like they rather be elsewhere!
Router stopped working and was told to purchase a new filter, which they did not offer to provide or post out. Wasted my money as that was not the issue, refused to send a new router out. Literally telling my mum to sign up to another year and then they will send a router for free. The cheek! No help service absolutely frustrating to chat to these people. Like the previous comments....DO NOT GO NEAR EVEN WITH A BARGEPOLE.

I have been a loyal BT customer for 25 years until I found out they had put by bill up 20% without informing me and wouldn’t give me a better deal unless I committed to an 18month contract. Moved to direct save on a recommendation and they have been marvellous, the customer service is fantastic and the phone and broadband are reliable, I had a problem connecting and they answered the call in under 2 minutes and sorted in 1 minute. They can’t do enough for you. Exceptional service.

The signal strength in some parts of my house was weak. I asked for advice on a local FB forum and one suggestion was to contact the provider and ask them to change the frequency. The 2nd one was to instal a range extender.
When I spoke to Directsave, I got the same advice and since installing the range extender, the signal strength has improved a lot.

Moved to our new home and made sure we had sorted out the internet prior to moving in. 10 phone calls plus on hold 5-10 Mins at a time, no call backs and on Saturday no engineer available so not great service at all! Especially frustrating when your told they will set it up a day later to still having no net. Asked for refund

They deserve 0 star. There are so many hidden charges which they won't tell you when you order your broadband. Once you sign the contract, they will send you a bunch of bills. They hung up if you call to complain. Do NOT ever deal with this company if you want a peaceful life.
