Persuaded in store to take up Home Phone & Broadband with EE. Always been ok on mobile phones and they told us we could keep our email address so got ourselves talked into it. Worst move ever! E mail stopped working, spent hours on the phone waiting to get through - then cannot understand what they are saying most of the time. Technical staff were abrupt, rude and very unhelpful. Asked to speak to a supervisor and they put you through to a phone that rings for half an hour then cuts you off. Get through to their complaints team who promise to investigate and call you back and a week later you're still waiting. Get back in touch with the original store and turns out they lied!! Letter done to their Head Office and Ofcom.

It took a month to get connected after receiving the modem. Broadband was fine for almost a year but I've had no connection for the last 5 days.

We were promised that the package we were going for would support the amount of people on the internet at one time, which was incorrect.

Then when we check to see what plans are avaliable for that little bit extra we find out that the ones they're offering us were not avaliable within our area in the first place.

calling them up for them to feed the same automated script answers to which low and behold do nothing but cause more issues.

In the last 4 months we've had nothing but issues, internet outages, phone line downs, broadband shutting down completely to the point of having to have them send a new router out because the one we got had faults to have the one we have now giving the same faults.

Spending for 50 download / 50 upload and can't even manage over 1 upload and 20 download lmao.

I bought 3 Amazon Fire TV sticks, 1 of which is Fire TV
I acknowledge now have quite a lot of devices attched, but I regret moving from Sky, apart from the price.
You get what you pay for.
Bandwidth is being throttled quite significantly.
Calls to EE customer service ended up with the impractical solution being to take devices off and then did not want to know, when I could benefit from an upgraded router.
    Overall, unsatisfied.

If there was a 'zero' option, then I would give it. Absolutely awful Broadband. We are 5 months into our 1 year contract and cannot wait to leave EE. Constant buffering, cannot watch videos or Amazon Firestick. Everything takes forever to load. I have 2 children and they cannot do their homework at the same time. Contacted customer services (in India) several times and always go through same thing; try this, try that. But nothing ever changes. Was with Sky before and perfect. AVOID EE

Hopefully, I can stay online long enough to send this review. Without a doubt, EE broadband is the worst broadband service I've ever had.
Today I am going to cancel my account but I am building up the resources to phone them - always a nightmare and at my expense both in time and money.
I have phoned them on several occasions already and a protracted and difficult call ends with no resolution.
I am prepared to pay more for a better service.
Currently I can't even do a speed test because I get timed out but I might get 0.7 - 1 mb if I'm lucky. When it works a bit faster, it drops out continually. The range of the router is not what is claimed. The whole service is terrible. I would never recommend them to even my worst enemy!

Just had to query excessive charges on my bill (due to being over my monthly call usage) and I was really impressed with the customer service - couldn't fault it. Very efficient UK call centre, helpful and pro-active staff... I was all set to leave EE but ended up happily signing up to a new contract thanks to the way they handled my enquiry.

This is the worst broadband I have used or in the UK. The speed is so slow and most times no connection. Customer service cannot do anything to help all they do is to keep on the phone for very long time and be transferring you from one department to another. I have used sky in the past before switching to ee. It was a mistake I've been regretting since I joined ee. I can't wait to finish this rubbish contract and run back to sky.
However, I have written a formal letter to ee that I will stop paying the bills if I don't get the value of what am paying for.... May we end up in the court.
EE broadband the worst you will ever ask for.

Really bad, barely had it few day now and hardly had any signal from my broadband at all. I was promised of a good and reliable router with the signal speed of 19 to 23mbps, all I could get is 100 to 30kbps (old dialup strength) to put it bluntly it is dreadful considering I work in the video games industry which requires me use the internet to move and upload lots of data around. If anyone is looking wireless broadband I highly recommend you avoid EE's bright box simple horrible I only wished I stayed with BT I never had this problem with them.

Switched from talk talk to ee as they were offering a slightly better deal.
initially broadband speed was on a par with what i was getting with talk talk.
However, a couple of months down the line my speed is down to a snails pace.
    1.15mb download and a pitiful 0.12mb upload.
Never been in the best area for speed but that's approx 4 times slower than I had previously.
It's also pretty obvious they're throttling bandwidth p2p also just to make matters worse.
awful. Can't wait until my contract is up now. Only 10 months to go...

The wifi is absolutely awful. We were told we would have a download speed of 14 Mbps and we are lucky if we get 3. It has even been known to go as low as 0.6 - which is absolutely ridiculous. The customer service staff are pleasant to speak to however this doesn't take away from the fact that this is the worst wifi speed I have ever used. We've been told multiple times that the problem would be fixed, and they have once sent an engineer out to fix the problem however it seems to be worse than ever. Extremely unsatisfied.

It was fine for a few days then it all went down hill. We lost our internet and when we phoned to ask why they said that the internet will not be up for 2 weeks. because they "accidently" disconnected us and then they told us to go and buy a dongle out of our own money and we all needed the internet for important courses and homework so we had no choice but to buy one. Thanks alot ill be sure to tell everyone of my experience.

    I joined ee jan 2016.

My broadband was 4 days late being activated and customer service didt know why but I just hoped it was a one off.

Over the year they cancelled my direct debit payment 6 times so I refused to re add it.

My payment date was 1st of the month without notice they changed it to the 21st

    No answers of why

Throughout the year my service cuts off for no reason still rubbish customer service.

Then this happens!! I couldt even watch a video! My download speed was 0.35 upload of 0.07!!!! With my contract promising min of 17.0! At all times.

Ee said it's my box at mistakes and they will get me one for today but no it's not here

NEVER SIGN UP TO EE AND REMEMBER IF A COMPANY FAILS TO PROVIDE THERE CONTRACT YOU CAN GET OUT

I arranged the service but it never worked properly from the start. I had 4 engineers visit but couldn't diagnose the problem. I made 3 or 4 calls per week to their customer services since Jan. I cancelled in April and they are billing me £546.58 cancellation charges for a service that didn't work and didnt meet the contractual standards. This is woeful

Simply terrible service. Since the broadband was purchased, over 6 weeks have passed. The line installed is still yet to be activated and the broadband box has only just been delivered. The only thing bright about EE is the name of their broadband box. I have nothing good to say about their service. The previous phone call included being put on hold for 20 minutes to attempt to register the account. This is unbelievably abysmal.

Constant issues with speed and quality through contract. Trying to get through to customer service is like pulling teeth. The speed never came near what was advertised and we had very few weekends where we weren't throttled, again - not what was advertised. Avoid.

Appauling broadband speed!!!!!!. Should not be described as broadband. Should be prosecuted under the trade's description act. You phone them and they don't care. I was told the speed would be very good. Last so called customer advisor described the broadband in my area as "dire". So why did they lie to me about it? Their solution is for me to upgrade to fibre.....for another price increase. They have already increased their price mid-contract. NO Chance. I did not have this problem with sky or BT. My broadband contract is due for renewal so decided to check the reviews out on this site for various providers. i am actually currently with EE for Fibre Broadband and had I seen some of the terrible reviews I may have been cautious about taking my contract out with EE. However, in the whole of my 18 month contract, I have never had a problem with the reliability or speed of the broadband so am quite surprised by some of the reviews. I may well decide to take my business away from EE however this would purely be down to getting a better deal elsewhere and not because of the service received. I hope it isn't a case of better the devil you know if I leave!!

I don't usually bother with reviews but when I seen the deal with EE I was a bit disheartened to see all the bad reviews. I went ahead anyway cos it was only for a year and I was going from paying £30 a month to £2_50 a month. Decided it was worth a punt plus I had terrible service with BT and wasnt that happy with them. I'm so glad I did, we've had no problems at all. We watch Netflix every Saturday night and we've never had any buffering. The speed seems the same, can't see any difference. Job done and it brings a smile to my face every time I see my bill. Just looked at this months and its £3.16 with my phone calls. I had to phone customer services to ask a question at the beginning and they couldn't have been nicer, it wasn't a foreign call centre and the guy was really helpful. Anyway I hope this review will help someone to make a decision, its not all bad, think maybe people are more likely to review if they've had a bad experience.

I changed from PlusNet to EE in June via Money Saving Expert (MSE) website to save money & the promise of a £120 Amazon voucher after 3 months. After providing the MAC code, changeover went smoothly for both Broadband & landline on the dates agreed. After the usual initial 5-7 days, broadband speed was same as PlusNet (which was same as BT which I had before that)- about 14-17Mb d/l + 1Mb u/l. EE has more bandwidth restrictions than PlusNet, so if you torrent, its after 1am for you!
(Reading some of the other comments on here, I have read elsewhere that changing FROM Sky & Talktalk to ANY other provider can sometimes be problematic, but can't remember the techi reason why)

Occasional (weekly) problems with unresponsive page requests (either nothing happens or new page appears after 5-10 seconds). Changed primary & secondary DNS server in router settings away from Orange to faster alternatives - Problem solved! (Namebench software gave results)

EE charged me full price for 1st month instead of offer price, after several emails & phone calls - customer support they said they knew nothing about the discounted offer but after 30 minute phone calls & call backs from managers (which I recorded for training & security purposes!!) they agreed to sign me up for a new deal, which was cheaper than the original MSE deal & assured me that the Amazon voucher would still stand....Hmmmm....my 3 months are now up, so time to start chasing MSE/"Affiliate Window"/EE or whoever for it, I can't imagine it will just turn up!

In summary, EE's reputation for c**p customer support still seems true. I came from PlusNet which is said to have some of the best.
    Speed & reliability 4.5 out of 5

We booked broadbank with EE and then read the reviews on this site..... Needless to say I was really concerned we had made a bad choice in provider! Router arrived and at the cut off date of my previous supplier the router connected to EE and I had an email saying the tv box was on route. The Internet wouldn't connect and I called customer services, waited less than 2 minutes to get through and after explaining the issue was put through to a call centre probably in India.. Very nice man had the Internet up and working within 5 minutes.. Speed is faster than before and so far I'm very impressed with the service provided....

Do not get involved with EE or Orange, not only is their customer service dreadful, the whole company ethos seems to be about trickery and broken promises rather than providing a service worth paying for, save yourself a lot of trouble and go somewhere else.

What an absolutely horrendous company EE are. I've had various problems for 18 months. I took out their fibre broadband package due to the low cost and promises they made.

I was promised caller ID which never materialised, a Bright Box 2 router but I was sent the older Bright Box 1, and fast broadband which never happened.

During peak times I would struggle to achieve 5mbs although I was quoted an average of 30mbs on ordering. Occasionally I would even struggle to reach 1mbs.

Also, when I try to visit a website or use an app the internet just won't work every so often unless I refresh the page.

To top it all off they removed free evening weekday landline calls from my package without notice, I only realised when I recieved a huge bill the next month.

    Avoid like the plague!

I'm now with Sky and they're such a breath of fresh air in comparison.

Horrendously bad customer service. Our recent house move was an absolute nightmare with EE, several times they left me on hold for over an hour, promised call backs never happened, I was told barefaced lies by their staff about the root cause of the technical issue I called them about (one guy told me that 'the mast wasn't connected properly to my line at the exchange and that BT Openreach would fix it within 72 hours' - all totally made up nonsense and he knew it. None of their departments talk to each other or understand each others' systems thanks to EE being a total bodge together of multiple other companies. When BT incorporates them as part of the recently announced buy-out I dread to think how disjointed they will be. I will be leaving them as soon as I can. Stay away from them!!

I looked at the reviews and decided to add my own.
I have been with Freeserve, Wanadoo, Orange, now EE since 1998.
Forget the Indian call centres, they are a waste of space.
The rest of the above 3 categories have been good.
Many years ago when the free internet Companies folded my service provider then must have brought in more servers to cope with the influx of new customers.
I have had 17 years of good service, EE also looks after my phone line.
This has been my experience so far, if it isn't broken, don,t fix it.
Other companies quote similar prices for my broadband and phone line service.
I have always had reliable service, but forget the Indian call centres, they are rubbish.
I hope you get a similar experience from your provider, I'm 66 now and if EE remains as effective I will carry on with them into the future.

I recently switched my FTTC line from Plusnet (with the Plus addon) to EE. EE sent a new router so I decided to try it in place of my Asus AC68U router. The broadband speed improved immediately from about 19MBps to about 23Mbps. But the reliability has gone down. I have had several interruptions, and large downloads sometimes take forever or fail. The WiFi range of the EE router is also not as good as the AC68U.

I was supposed to have a 4GB max sum plan that I could use abroad, however, they never set me up for abroad roaming so now my phone is set to the wrong time and I can't text, call or use data abroad. It's annoying as I don't even get the he message to confirm i'm in another country. The workers also don't know what the he here talking about. I asked about my plan and they said it wasn't for abroad, yet when I checked it was. I called again and they said it was. They have no idea what they are telling thwir customers and are not fully educated in what they inform. It's devestating.

EE is run by corrupt employees who will lie to the teeth to get you to commit. They claim having own fibre network and don't, they claim speeds which isn't there, they change contract without evidence, they claim things does not exist, then even make false appointments. very bad people indeed.

We decided to get both mobile phone contracts and home broadband with EE. This was a bad mistake in so many ways I can't fit them in this post.

First, the EE sales team in our local shop was slow and incompetent. They lied to us twice saying that that they could cancel our contract with our current broadband provider and start the new one with no overlap (similarly to what you do with energy providers, as you don't pay your electricity bill twice). They also told us that, in case of an overlap, they would have reimbursed us of any money we would have paid the other provider. Guess what? After two months of trying to get two months of overlap back, we have got nothing. Zero.

On top of this, we've had delays in the set up of the broadband, mistakes in billing, and no access to our online accounts for days (they had misspelt both our names and our Gmail account - they had written GMIAL...). And the accounts of our broadband and mobile phones are all separate, which is inconvenient and makes no sense.

    Don't make our same mistake!

Never sign up to them their broadband is a joke, fails to connect most the time customer service think its the customers job to log onto an online portal and change the channel constantly. Speeds of 3.2mb nowhere near the advertised levels. Avoid like the plague

A total disgrace. This company tells lies!. I'm mesmerized by the way this company runs, given it's a UK based provider... You would understand and accept it, if it were in a underdeveloped third world country. But as it's not... Calling themselves a service is just rude.

I urge anyone to look around before buying into any of their services, as the offers of paying less seem to be the best way EE get new customers... But once you're an exciting customer, and you're faced with a problem, you might as well talk to your nearest brick wall: least then you will not be lied to.

One word to sum up our whole EE experience; it would be: ATROCIOUS
