I recently changed service provider (from EE to Plusnet) - not entirely hassle free as I expected it should be.
The changeover date was set to be the 25th of October 2016 and this duly happened with my phone, but not broadband, which was re-instated on the 27th. Nothing too stressful so far, but then I received an email stating that my phone services were to cease on the 18th of November even though the changeover had already taken place. I phoned and was told that EE placed a 14 day extension on my account after being notified of actual transfer having taken place.
I phoned them and the matter was resolved to some satisfaction after being told that a new bill for the month in question was not being raised. No mention of part month which I feel I am owed.
However, I do feel this 14 day add-on is ridiculous and my main reason for writing this is to warn others and for them to check if this has been applied to them.

Useless customer service, unreliable speeds even on a wired connection , I live in a very small flat and the wifi will only pickup in the same room as the router not fit for purpose.

I wish I had checked all reviews before choosing EE. The worst broadband ever!! We have been without internet for 4 weeks. 2 new routers were send but never worked. EE always blames something else. They blamed BT line. Two guys from BT came in in two weeks.. but is nothing to do with the BT line. EE can't solve the problem. They started to ignore my calls. Always promises to call me back but never does. Or they just leave you a voicemail that they couldnt contact you due to my bad reception!!! We're is the good attitude to customers???? Terrible service.

I see a lot of bad reviews about EE. So I'm guessing aside from my own personal experience, their services can be hit an miss. Though nevertheless I'll give an account of my experience with EE.

18mth Contract 76mb Fibre Broadband and Homephone.

I'm 19 months into using EEs fibre broadband and couldn't be happier. My download speeds sometimes exceed the 76mb advertised speeds by a mb or 2. I never seem to be slowed down at peak times and even though I use up an astounding amount of data. I've still not been slowed down or received correspondence to stop.

In 19 months, I have not once had any outages. Always a stable connection.

Aside from the actual product, which from my experience, has been amazing. Their customer service I have to admit is shockingly awful.

The customer service representatives don't really seem to care. Any complaints are dealt with in a, 'not our problem', kind of fashion. Usually only being resolved after escalating the matter.

I can understand why those who have had issues, don't rate EE highly. As I can imagine getting an issue sorted if something goes wrong can be very frustrating with EEs poor customer service.

For me, no longer being tied down by a contract as I'm now into a rolling contract. An never having issues with my broadband and getting the speeds I'm paying for. Is what keeps me with EE. If any of that changed, I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

Very poor service. First joined EE in March 2016, broadband was slow but we stuck with them. Moved house on 8th October 2016 and put in for the house move. EE stated this wasn't a problem and an engineer would be out on the 1st November to set up a new line. Waited in all day on the 1st nobody turned up. Rang EE and they stated a problem with BT and an engineer no longer needed to come to our property, but the line would be up and running by midnight the following Tuesday and we would also be given the 2 months free that we missed. Tuesday midnight came, no broadband. Called EE again and was given another date for the broadband to go live and that never happened. Finally we was given today's date tuesday 15th November for a BT engineer to come to our property to fit the line (baring in mind, this apparently was no longer necessary) anyway he arrived, expecting to be fixing a faulty line which should have been a 10 minute job when in fact a new line needed fitting due to a home move. So the 10 minute job he expected turned into a 2 hour job. (The BT engineer shown me the job he had been given for our property on his mobile and it was in fact 'a faulty line') he did the job anyway and after a brilliant job managed to get our phone line working, but no broadband. We made a call to EE to request they now make our broadband live since we have a fully working phone line. And they decide to tell us now after 6 weeks that we can't in fact get fibre broadband in our property due to there being no spaces in the green cabinet! Also the 2 month free that we was supposedly getting was infact a lie, as during a home move you dont get billed for the time you are without broadband. Safe to say we terminated our EE contract and are now looking elsewhere for broadband. Massive thank you to Neil from BT open reach though who did a fantastic job and got the line up and running.

I initially bought the non fibre broadband simply because it was the cheapest option. It was a bit stupid to be honest because before switching over to EE I was with Virgin on fibre optic so it was like switching from a coloured TV to a black and white one!
I ended up upgrading to the EE fibre package and haven't looked back since, its even faster than Virgin! The customer service was spot on and they even wavered the fee you pay for an engineer to visit!
A bit of advice for those of you that are debating on what package to get, if you use the internet for the bare minimum like online shopping, facebook and web browsing the non fibre one will be fine for you but if you have people in your house that watch a lot of youtube videos or Netflix then whatever internet provider you choose always choose the fibre package. Check if your area is compatible before you do though :)

Completely garbage, takes 20 mins to watch a YouTube clip. Downloading games can take days. One of the worst broadband services I have ever had. They blatantly lied about the average speeds, not even close to what is advertised. Avoid at all costs.

No communication from ee towards end of yearly contract regarding possible new packages available, they just slung me on a monthly tariff despite my having paid yearly in advance previous 2 years.Their accounting procedures are labarythim so it is difficult to work out when you year is up as time money comes out of your account bears no relation to start/ending dates of your 12 months.

Very poor service. Internet is very slow and quite often cuts out altogether. Customer service can only do a connection test to test if you're connected. Can't move provider as they wont cancel the contract even though half the time we are paying for no service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. WORST BROADBAND EVER!!!!

Moved from Sky Broadband due to price increase. Speed dropped from 5+Mbps to under 1Mbps and connection kept dropping. Phoned customer service 4 times regarding this eventually they sent a BT Openreach engineer. Nothing wrong on BT side. It took over a week for EE to do anything. Speed increased to 5+Mbps for about 1 week connection still dropped then speed dropped again. Now 0.9Mbps or less on a good day. Customer service here I come. I was promised a credit on my bill

PLEASE if you are thinking of switching to EE - don't. They are surely the absolutely WORST broadband "provider". My "service" started at 2mb download and stayed that way for 3 days. It then was ok each morning and slid from lunchtime hrough the day back to 2mb each evening. I googled to try and rectify what is a common complaint of their service, but ended up having to call them to investigate. Surprisingly given their size, everything about EE broadband is very, very amateur. You get through to a person in the UK very quickly, but in my experience, technically they are clueless. I spent 2.5hours in a working day, unable to work due to poor internet while I went through 'procedures' with them to check. Nothing changed and the girl (only in the job 1 week) disconnected me after 1.5 hours of fiddling, and didn't call back, and leaving me with no service at all. When I called back I was told they "were under no obiligation to return calls that got disconnected" and that my problem would be escalated to Team 2 (where Kafka is in the corner, taking notes for his novel). Team 2 said "people are not perfect" and that everyone makes mistakes, and then sent me a text saying the problem was under investigation. 7 days later, nothing. I then got sent a bill for £269.01 for leaving the service - which I am still in the cooling off period for. When I called about this, was told that it was "it's not from us it's computer generated, and the computer is not intelligent enough to know you are still in your cooling off period" !.
I switched back to BT - whose administration is awful, but whose broadband service was consistent. EE cling to this idea of a 10 day 'stablisation period' for the service. BT say this is nonsense, the service is established, and that's way you will get. In my case this is true.
The episode has been surreal - I cannot believe a modern company with a large infrastructure can get away with this level of poor service. I cannot imagine they will survive the market except by contractual entrapment.

I've been with EE mobile for years and just joined Home Broadband Fiber 38mbps/dl. The speed is the same as my previous provider, there are small problems I noticed:

    - Ping is higher compared to Sky (lower the better)
    - Speed is more stable with Sky
    - Extra 5gb data is not automatically added to your mobile contract
    - Hidden Charges! They didn't say there's a month in advance.
    - be aware of shipping and a connection charge of £50 if you don't have BT fiber line. I do have this and still they charged me £25. Sky gave me this free for being a loyal customer.

I had EE broadband for 18 months before requesting them to do a home move. After moving into our new property we had problem after problem! There was a problem with the line, with our broadband box, technical faults, problems with the line again. Cut to 5 weeks after our move and internet STILL wasn't activated. Not only that but we were threatened with being charged for an engineer to come out and see what the problem was.

I can't emphasise this enough - do NOT go with EE Broadband. Awful service. By contrast we got so fed up and cancelled our account despite having 3 months worth of credit at this point. Virgin Media had the box with us and the line active in 48 hours AND gave us a couple of weeks free service as a thank you for switching.

I have been using EE/orange as my broadband provider for several years, most recently on a 38 Mb/s. My household runs everything through the internet and so we have an average usage of over 150GB/month. The service of EE has been very good, the speed remains at a pretty constant level and doesn't ever appear to be throttled back.

The 5 GHz signal on the router covers my entire house, if you gadget can us it and this will provide the full 38 MB/s. The 2.4 GHz signal will cover the house, garden and some of the road, but as there is a lot of other houses using the channel it can slow down, it usually provides around 20 MB/s but this is not really EE's fault and just the facts of the technology.

I have had a few problems with my service, the phone stopped working and my internet became direly slow <0.5 MB/s. I phone EE, after being on hold for 10 mins (7pm - weekday), was put through to customer services and quickly escalated to tier 2. The next morning at 8am BT Open Reach were at my house checking the fault. Turns out there was a fault with internal wiring as the main inlet worked fine. EE didn't charge me for this work even through BT said they would be charging EE. I have relayed my interal wires and everything is excellent again.

I have been really happy with the EE provided service so far.

If there was a 'zero' option, then I would give it. Absolutely awful Broadband. We are 5 months into our 1 year contract and cannot wait to leave EE. Constant buffering, cannot watch videos or Amazon Firestick. Everything takes forever to load. I have 2 children and they cannot do their homework at the same time. Contacted customer services (in India) several times and always go through same thing; try this, try that. But nothing ever changes. Was with Sky before and perfect. AVOID EE

NEVER ever trust EE. The closed my account for no reason and I have had to open a new account. They did not inform me that my account was closed. The service was dreadful to say the least. I have had to buy a dongle which they tried to charge me for and a new router which I have to pay the delivery charges. DO NOT EVER USE EE. They are the worst. Believe me. They will lie and cheat anything to get the extra pound.

Into my 3rd month of an 18mth contract. One of the original emails from EE guaranteed a min 30mb download speed...70% of the time this is OK, but I have noticed that this frequently drops as low as 5MB download rate in the evening, despite multiple resets and calls to customer service, it still continues....I would suggest that this probably breaks their own terms and conditions and I will be seeking to break free of my contract as soon as I can....£27 per month for 38mbps ADSL to fibre cabinet with unlimited data......not good enough.

If there was an option to use a zero then I would. It's been over a month since switching providers. My internet previously was perfect, no issues whatsoever. Switch to EE in good faith and from day one no internet.
Called over and over again. At first it's "wait 10 days and wifi will impreove"...then..."wait another 10 days"....then "wait 3 days"...then a new router.
It's been over a month and still no wifi -- speed test shows 0.69 download speed. Highest it ever reached was 1.69.
The fault has to be EE but they are not allowing me to leave their service without paying a fee despite not receiving a service that is being PAID for. It's absolutely disgusting the way customers are held to ransom. They have fobbed us off yet again saying to wait 2 more days. I wish I stayed with Talk Talk. The TV was crap but at least the wifi was good. i can't even work from home let alone do anything for pleasure.
Awful customer service. AVOID AVOID AVOID

I give EE no stars, our internet went live on Monday or did it? Numerous calls to customer service and technical in all parts of the country and India to be told so many stories, one being I was experiencing a sync issue and they could sort it, another being I needed an engineer as my internal line has a fault, another being it was because I was in the first 10 days of the contract, and the last being the router is faulty. So who is telling me the truth?? I cancelled as I have lost all faith in EE broadband as it seems like nobody knows what they are doing. Signed up with another supplier because EE haven't provided what they said they could.

everyday there is a couple hours the broadband speed is slower than 3G. Open a website page takes 2 mins or every longer.

The broadbanday speeds are generally less than you would like. WiFi too slow too often. I had no problems with the sky router I used previously. To top it all off customer service is a pain to deal with. Avoid ee fibre broadband. All the bad reviews are spot on. It wouldn't be worth it even if it was free.

    Just don't.
    Day One 13Mbs
    Day Two 11mbs
    Day Three to Five 8Mbs
    Day five onwards 1Mbs

Just don't. Their CS is rubbish, speeds are horrible. Only good this is their modem has real good distance.

Like many others here I would advise to stay away from EE broadband. The router turned up a week late and then the 'acclimatise' period lasted for longer and didn't even make me aware of it to start with. After it taking a month to be installed and working (rather than the 10 days I was told) I didn't get anywhere near the speed quoted. I was told 13-17mbps and most of the time I struggled to get 1, couldn't even load a web page with more than one device on it! Had enough and left, after fighting with them on the phone at least I did get them to cancel the early cancellation fee.

Absolutely awful. Internet is bad where we are but this is abysmal. Drops out at peak periods. Totally inconsistent supply. Useless customer care. I have a mobile too which is equally as shambolic. Stay well away
