Stay away from this company they are a shambles. We took out broadband ohone and tv with them but didnt realise we had no tv arial as we were in rented property, therefore were unable to usethe box. Talk talk rang us no end of times to say we had not connected our box, we explained why and theny hung up. In the end i lost my temper on thephone and told them to stop calling.
We moved back home on 5th may and our broadband and phone were connected. We had brought the box with us to see if it would work after being told that it wouldnt work in our home address as the internet connection was too slow....... It works so they lied!!!
I called talk talk to tell them thebox was working to which he told me they had down graded my package without consent and that if we didnt return the box that there would be a £75 charge added to our bill.....i went mental and the guy on the phone. Long story short we decided to keep the box and pay the fee.... Why is it when we COULDNT use the box they didnt ask for it back and when we could use it they asked for it back??? And the best of it is that they down graded us but were still charging us the price we were originally paying.
NEVER EVER again will i go near this company. As soon as i can get out of the contract im going back to BT

TalkTalk are a nightmare, do not sign up with them, after a year of misery and lies from day one,I do not recommend them. Customer services are in Manila Philippines, they will promise and promise but end result will be same, wrong bills overcharging, no broadband connection sometimes for days, etc etc etc, do not give them your bank details,

this is the most shocking services i have ever had from broadband company i had 2 appotment with the engineers so i booked of work using my holidays and no show or text/email/phone so what a waste of my holidays and there still trying to charge me for my old address when i moved £200 but yet i was told on the phone i was still in the cool down period so no charge. i got a second broadband serice Virgin Media and tbh much better customer service and broadband if i was you before you think of signing a contract with talk talk rethink and have a look at all diffrent reviews from diffrent website and you will see my point why one option is better than the other.
many thanks alan :)

Extremely POOR service, I would NOT recommend using them: poor broadband speed and connection but most importantly the customer service is totally unhelpful: they can barely speak english, they keep you on the line even hours without solving problems, they do not know what they are talking about, they do not listen to the problems customers have, they charge with wrong things and disputing a bill is a nightmare.

Experienced speed problems since the first day. Talk Talk suggested to change to fibre optic as the only solution. There was a small improvement but does not compare with the competitor fibre optic speeds. Now phone stopped working. This company is causing nightmares to so many clients and no one stops them. I have just visited their Facebook page and the complaints are many there. Why the ombudsman does not do something about this company.

Yes this internet is cheap, but cheap isn't good if your not getting the service your paying for. Talk talk is only good if you don't run into any problems.
I've the Internet for a year and a half and ran into problems two weeks ago. My internet speed dropped from the usual 4mb/s to .3mb/s and latency went to 500m/s.
A technician came around and proved that the home setup was fine and it was a problem with the open reach line which talk talk rent from BT.
I booked the Openreach tech for the following week; Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, told they would turn up on either one of those days.
I waited home for those three days and no technician showed. Upon ringing talk talk on the night of the Wednesday; they told me that an Openreach technician wasn't needed because they thought it was a problem with my home setup. I explained I already had a talk talk technician prove my setup but they said he might have missed something.
I wasn't prepared to wait for another week for them to tell me my setup is ok again, I've cancelled my direct debit and ordered Virgin.
It's iust their comstomer support that's the problem. All They needed to do it get BT to turn the gain up on the line but what could have been a 20minute solution turned into a 3 week shambles with no solution within sight.

Unbelievable slow in the evening. Just measured at 0.14 MB/s In the morning up to 7Mb/s. Email takes up to a day to send. They just don't buy enough bandwidth from BT. Can't use Iplayer or you tube after the school kids get home.

OMG so wish I had read these reviews before I had this shower of Crap to install services in my Holiday Home...
Since the 24th March 2015 (installation date) I have rang these people twice a week with different problems. 2 routers later & a disconnection, that I never requested. My services are still down!!!!
I spent 1 hour 50 mins on the phone yesterday trying to get an answer as to why my connection had been disconnected, and still could not get an answer. THEN they wanted me to pay £25.00 connection charge to get my service reconnected when it wasn't my fault in the FIRST PLACE!!!!!!
Shocking.... Trading Standards are my nxt point of call, followed by The Ferret!!
They shouldn't be allowed to get away with such SHOCKING service.
Even Before & After Customer Service!!

APPALLING! Avoid unless you appreciate high blood pressure and no internet.
No proactive communication to customers, it is always the customer who has to chase. they promise a response within 48 hours, this never materialises.
They recently sent an engineer out to address our issue of intermittent internet - and having been assured we wouldn't be charged - then billed us £65 - even though the fault lay with talk talk. It took me 3 or 4 phone calls and about 3 hours to get that charge refunded.
Their call centre makes customers go through the same routine each time they call, ensuring each call lasts circa 45mins, without managing to resolve the issue - all the while telling me (from their script) that they are "very sorry" and they "appreciate my patience" . Needless to say we will be switching broadband/phone providers.

As consumers at the mercy of large retail companies it can be pretty hit and miss as regards the service we may stumble upon. I'm sure like yourselves we've all experienced bad service at one time or another, which is forgivable if the company resolves the issue and apologises. But please be WARNED Talk Talk has absolutely the worst ever customer service you will ever encounter. Pleasebe WARNED in all my years I have never experienced such appalling customer sevice from a company. They have outsourced their customer services abroad and some days you may be speaking to an agent from their Phillipines offices and another day their Indian offices. The Indian office has some pretty unhelpful staff that will call you back time and time again but not resolve any of the issues you have complained about. Definitely worth thinking about avoiding this company even if it means paying extra. Because in the long run if you lose your broadband and landline for over a week or more and get nowhere with your complaint, saving the few extra pounds a month isn't actually a saving.

Wish we had never heard the words TALKTALK. Where do I start and there really isn't enough room as I could write a book. What a load of ......s.
Package was to include Youview box - unable to set up. Problems with the telephone for nearly 3 months and told that they cannot correct it as 'there is an order on the line' - have you ever heard the likes!!!! Customer Service is appalling. Promises made by so called customer service managers are not upheld when challenged by Chief Executives Office - all they will say is 'they shouldn't have told you that and we never give compensation even though you have been inconvenienced and by the way if you cancel you contract there will be a charge. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE is you value your time don't waste it on this so called company - surprised they haven't gone out of business. I cannot stress highly enough how unprofessional and the sheer incompetence of their staff and attitude towards their customers.

Having never in my life felt the need to review any product I have purchased, I felt compelled to document just how terrible this company is.
Their foreign call centre 'installation team' are robotic and are simply unable to deviate from a programmed script. Following daily calls to check on when an engineer would be returning to complete my installation, I was simply given a date of 2 days in advance and would be told to await the report from the engineer. That date would pass and a further date was provided, again 2 days in advance. Like groundhog day, this process went on for 2 months.
It got to the point were I was lied to about attendances that never occured and they simply continued to blame BT Openreach.
I cancelled my order due to their complete inability to be able to be able to converse with another human being and due to the deceipt and ability to offer anything other than a scripted apology.
I have no idea how this company exists in a market of broadband providers.

If I could give less stars I would. This company is terrible from start to finish! Three months with no internet service. Seven different engineers out to try rectify the problem. Customer services team do not care the slightest and LIE to get you to keep quiet by promising refunds and "specialist" engineers to come out and do repair. Its cost me to phone up each time off my mobile as none of them took notes about my problem so i had to explain the situation over and over again. Still no further on and talk talk expect me to keep paying for a none working service! Steer clear of talk talk!

Was.oK. with this company since they took over tiskali. Up until this month. We took out a new contract when they changed all the prices around Christmas time . This month we have an email to tell us that the overall package price had increased and all the 0845 numbers and 0708 numbers that were free as part of the package,
now cost us full price, Now we are told we have to pay the increased rental along with these extra costs . Confirmed with talktalk that they had broken their contract agreement , as I notice they have with many reviewers. Because of this it was confirmed that yes we could cancel and move to a another broadband supplier free of charge. We are now looking into this with Plusnet seeming to be the preferred option. I suggest that others with changes to their contract do the same and if they wont let you go to OFCOM for assistance. Good luck don't let them win.

I cant begin to describe how awful the company is.
The service is shocking and I have had the phone put down on me.
It would appear that my router has to be replaced for the SECOND time. I have been advised that my compensation will be for the time I did not have internet. They do not take into account that I have spent an hour and a half on the phone and without internet, I lose money.
I am so sick of their apologies when nothing is done to improve the service.
I would still like to know why the mail system was changed as it was fine before.

I've left TalkTalk.
After a discussion with TalkTalk, their comment in an email to me was:
"I'm pleased to let you know that on 18/03/2015 one of my colleagues had credited your account with £226.10 and £180.36 to waive off the Contract Breakage Fee and reimburse the charge for Value Line Rental respectively."
Account balance inc VAT -£221.31 CR
I was then advised to login to my account, and click on "send a cheque to me" refund button.
Ive now been trying for months to get my money back, and everytime they say I am correct, and are sending a cheque, but no cheque.... for months. Please steer clear of TalkTalk.

OMG!!!!! Please if you value your time and energy please, pretty please do not go near them. Never,EVER.
Despite broadband problems for the first 6 months and last 6 months of the contract, constant phone calls and they incompetent customer service they have cancelled it (my contract) without my permission or any other reason leaving me without the internet for 3 weeks. No help. just yapping that the ''computer say so''.
I am just amazed how this company is on the market. Now - much wiser I would advise all the people out there: better spent 5-10 pounds more a month and have much better internet elsewhere, quick, efficient, nice customer service instead of this.

Just awful......
Problem after problem and I can't get out of the contract. It took over 5 months for a TV box to arrive, it cost me so much money calling them on my mobile and wasted over 8 hours on the phone to them.

They created a new contract (18 months) without us knowing and without our permission after only 3 months of being with them. Our original contract was 12 months (as we are students). When we called to state that they changed our contract without us knowing we had to go through 3 people til someone did something (even then he could only review previous conversations we had with other agents). We are being charged an extortionate cancellation fee for a 24 month contract when we only bought a 12 month contract. We're still unsure whether we are going to have to pay this fee or not (given their current reputation, we probably will have to).

Appalling service from the start - Talk Talk add additional packages to your account that you do not request-then they tell you you're tied into their contract to keep the additional package. The speed was terrible and the service was even worse. When the broadband speed issues couldn't be repaired (we were passed from pillar to post trying to sort this) I had to argue numerous times to get the cancellation fees waived. When they eventually agreed to this I was told to ignore the automated requests for the cancellation fees and was told to leave the direct debit running so I would get my refund (for advance payments made)...however, a month later I discovered they had in fact charged over £365 in fees and helped themselves to the money! We are now having to argue to get this money back and we have to wait at least 10 days for it to reach my account. The staff do not listen to you at all and they talk over you constantly - they always say they are now taking ownership of the account - they all say EXACTLY THE SAME THING and they are all useless.

I recommend that no one ever use this company. Their service was appalling, with the connection crashing several times everyday. Their technicians supposedly solved the problem, taking an hour on the phone each time, but it carried on. THey then tried to sell me fibre optic broadband.
When I left, I was assured on the phone that I wouldn't have to pay the early cancellation fee. Since then I have been in dispute with them over this. They don't reply to letters and are very hard to get through to.
Go with Sky, they are great.

Where to start you view boxes constantly break I had 5 in a year! They miss recordings constantly miss first 5 mins of every other recording and cut recordings short. Their customer service is criminal worst I have ever encountered. They don't let you leave when everything doesn't work and promise discounts that they never give to you! Once you have signed their dotted line you really don't matter at all to them they have you by the short and curlies! STAY WELL AWAY!
P.s tip of you don't care about home phone sky will be haggled to some great tv only deals for less than 20 a month and virgin do broadband only for 18 a month best of both worlds at better price :)

Ugraded to fibre last month - worst decision ever! No discernible difference, in fact I think it's actually a bit more sluggish. Max speed is 20mbps using TalkTalk checker but any other speed checker registers sub 20mbps. Chronically bad customer service. Promise the earth but deliver zilch.

I was with Talk Talk for 2 years with no problems. However, as soon as I tried to cancel my broadband as I was moving house I realised how shocking their customer service was.
My initial cancelation order was not processed and they have continued to issue me monthly invoices. I have been calling up every 2-3 weeks to explain what has happened, each time speaking to a different person who is unable to put me through to the person I spoke to previously, despite me having their name. Every time I call I am told it is fine, the situation will be resolved and I will not be receiving any more bills and the back dated amount post-cancellation will be written off. However, next month rolls around and I receive another invoice, and the cycle begins again.
I cannot explain how frustrating I have found this whole process, and it has completely undermined the 2 years of decent internet service I have received before, I am now spending a significant amount of time each month on the phone to talk talk, and am now getting concerned about getting a black mark against my credit rating. In summary, it is not worth it for the £2-3 you save per month on internet, I have since transferred to BT and found their customer service to be miles ahead of talk talk.

I was a talk talk customer for 2 years and then had to change adress so i called them that i wanted to move flat to tranfer my internet. I was told inwas not able to move the internet because my credit history was not good so they created a new account for my new adress (the credit history was not that bad after all). 6 months later i realised that they didn't disconect internet from the previous flat and i was oweing then too much money as i was supposed to be paying the others flat internet and calls! After 2 hours of talking with them the only they could do is not to charge me for the calls made from my previous flat but i should pay the internet that they forgot to disconect (of course i didnt). I'm calling them almost every week because i have too many issues with my internet. It keeps going off. My phone and ipad doesnt connect! Once ot was the rooter, once they told me to start unscrewing screes fromthe wall, once they told me to that its my devices (seems that my laptoo, ioad and phone as well as my boyfriends phone and ipad are allergic to talk talk), once that i was not getting enough speed abd once because that i get too much speed. It was another time that they told me to restart the broadband when ot goes out but last week i foubd out (someone else told me this time) that it is not good to restart it because it become slower! The worst company ever im a student that pays for internet but don't have internet, how nice it that? If someone ask my opinion for talk talk is a NOOOO! People from service seem kind but they are bot helpfull and they don't have any idea.. And I can't really say much about the internet as it doesnt exist in my flat! Thank got i have 3g

Never use Talktalk , they recently emailed to say that I was £20 in credit , a result of them charging for whole month when only had service for 10days as moved to new provider . Spent an hour on phone and email trying to get them to refund me , email problem solving hopeless , telephone problem solving hopeless , no apology for holding my money and not returning it , just a shocking company !!

I had been with Talktalk for years with no problems. They contacted me and told me I could have a free youview box with catchup tv at no extra cost that is when the trouble started. The tv buffered all the time when I complained they went through a process of sending an engineer out checking my connection and lots of other bullshit only to be told my connection was good they then increased my speed to 6mbps. Everything worked ok for a few weeks then the speed started to decrease. I reported it again and went through the "line check" crap again and they eventually said they would lock my speed at 6mbps. again ok for a few weeks then speed decreased and tv buffered again!! I tried reporting it again but the time it takes etc I gave up looking for a new broadband provider now I've had enough!!!!

Absolutely disgusted with TalkTalk and their behaviour this week.
I phoned them to cancel my broadband and phone because I am moving house in a week (at very short notice), and I would like to go with Fuel as my provider at my new house. My minimum contract period has expired and I'm now on a rolling 30 day contract, so I fully accepted I would need to give 30 days notice or pay 30 days charges. However, I asked that they disconnect my line on my moving date next week and they refused - apparently they will only disconnect the line after the 30 day notice period has expired, leaving my phoneline wide open to the new occupiers. The operator even suggested that I should "ask the new occupier to kindly not make calls on the line for the next 3 weeks."
The only way I could get them to disconnect my line when I moved out was to take out a new 18 month phone and broadband package with them at my new address! I don't want an 18 month contract and I won't want to stay with TalkTalk! Surely this must be illegal!
Avoid this company.

I signed up for broadband in March and emphasized how I needed internet set up quickly. After they said it would be 10 days, I asked to cancel but was convinced not to after they gave me a cut price and said I may be able to get a cancellation. It has now been over a month, they have sent 4 different engineers so far and fobbed me off all over the world.
If it works straight out of the box, you may be fine, but if anything goes wrong with your talktalk service, you are screwed, their customer service is awful. My phone bill is now at £134 for the amount of calls I have had to make and data I have had to buy.
They have a trick they have used on me 3 times now, they call me up to say all is working. I am at work so can't test but when I get home, I find it still isn't resolved. I get a text message telling me the incident is resolved.
BT have confirmed there is no problem with the line, the issue is with the routing of numbers on talktalk's system.

Now let me get this one thing straight-Talktalk is unreliable, slow and downright pathetic. I've been stuck in a contract with Talktalk for almost 2 years now and it is truly one of my worst life decisions. I am appalled day after day to come home to speeds of around 6 (maximumim) all the way down to a mere 1.5 mbps connection. Our average is usually around 3 mbps, yes that's megaBITS! I have dealt with our speeds of not even half what was promised for too long now and I strongly recommend nobody makes the same foolish decision I did, by choosing this network which cuts out around 4 times a day. I have dealt with my son being constantly angry at his video games because of bad ping and have even struggled with work deadlines to the point where I have had to take caffeine tablets to stay awake for full nights. It sounds odd, but this pathetic network has lead to serious issues within the household and I honestly cannot wait to replace this outdated junk with BT fibre optic. I will post this same review on every website I come across, as I want others to realise the stress this thing causes, in addition to the poor help we have been given.

Unbelievably greedy company that do not care about their customers.I booked an engineer as my broadband was so slow. Received text 2 days later saying they'd solved the problem. Engineer still turns up to tell me there is no more they can do. Receive bill for £65 for this which they refuse to rescind. Avoid them like the plague.
