Honestly this wifi is utter rubbish in every category possible, The wifi randomly disconnects, It cannot handle more than a couple of people without disconnecting and the customer support is crap. If I'm on a console or laptop I have to have it in the same room as the router for it not to lag or have it plugged in via Ethernet.

Sky as usual brilliant. I have had Sky TV, Sky Phone, Sky Mobile and Sky Broadband for years. The service I have received from Sky is brilliant they always sort any query out immediately ( I have only had 6 queries in 10 years) The operators speak clealy and are eu based.Just the best forget the Rest. I for one will not be changing

TIME TO LEAVE ..... costs keep going up, speeds and reliability going down. Requested my code and am off after 10 years or so. Sky your service isn’t worth the money, even if it was half price I would walk away. Even the sky tv box has lost the will to keep looking for the WiFi. I can’t tell you how bad the service is. It’s 2019 we need a reliable service.

This is the worst customer experience I have ever had. For a long time I told myself not to switch away from TalkTalk because the connection was so reliable and my kids will kill me if they can't game. I never had any issues with TalkTalk, but was lured by the prospect of Sky Q multi-room TV - what a truly disastrous error. Constantly drops the connection meaning my kids get kicked out of games they're winning and we can't watch a movie without having to re-boot the sky box. I have discovered that several of my friends have also been drawn in with identical results. I have spent hours on the phone with Sky only to receive a barrage of useless information. I am told that the source of the issue is the firmware carried by the Sky router and thy can't find a fix for it. Have tried bridging using a separate modem and router, but Sky has put blockers on so you can only use their kit - which is utterly useless. Am currently planning a fathers' one-way trip to the Moon so our Kids can't find us and terrorise us any more! So bad, I'm going to take the contract hit and move away.

Download speed - 0.80 Mbps, Upload speed - 0.65 Mbps, and it's like that almost everyday, it's even hard to check my email, and there is just impossible to watch a YouTube video.
It's that some kind of joke?
I was using a lot cheaper internet services in Poland, Netherlands and in Iceland, and I was never before have any problems.
I live in Glasgow now, I was choose Sky... that was a big mistake, it's hard to believe that UK have so slow broadband, it's shocking and sad :(

Just the worst customer support experience I have come across...

I called 3 weeks ago because my broadband speed had plummeted. Lady on phone goes through the script. Eventually I'm plugged into the test socket and she is running a test. Asks me to stay on the line. 45 minutes later, I accept that she has forgotten about me and I hang up.

Call back the next day. No record of my previous call. Ask them to call me back. They say they will and then don't. Ring them again. Go through the same stuff. Speed test takes 10 minutes. They suggest replacing the microfilter. I go to PC World, get one and call back. No difference. They say they are going to run a 72 hour test and will call back at a certain date and time.

That time comes and passes. I call them the next day. No record of anything done previously. Have to go through the entire script again. They suggest I replace the cables and the router.

I do this, and...there's no improvement. So I have to call them back again. Amazingly I have to go through the entire script for the fourth time. I explain i have replaced every piece of network equipment in my house. She says she will speak to an engineer who will check the local exchange and call me back. I laugh at her.

Don't hear anything for 2 days so i call back. Explain the entire situation to someone who clearly has no record of what i have been through already. She puts me on hold. 5 minutes later she comes back and says "yes, there was a problem at the exchange and all is ok now."

Cosmic. Any chance of a refund on the microfilter, router and cables I've brought for no reason? Nope. Could have been solved in 5 minutes, instead takes 2 weeks, £40 in equipment and go knows how much in phone calls. Thanks Sky

Horrible horrible experience. I register for a new connection at the sky stall in coventry and they gave me activation date after 13days. And the never ending wait of 13days, when I set up the hub, Internet connection is not active. I rang customer service and they asked me to leave the modem on till midnight. Can't belive. Even after 7days now there is no connection and they are passing the bucket around. Now it seems sky says it's some open reach fault. So this is 22nd April and I requested a connection on the 1st. I guess that's the reason they have contracts since they are aware of their poor service and if they leave it to customers to stay at their will, no one will. Horrible.

The worst network I have ever been on constantly down, connection strong enough for a phone and half the time not even that. Consoles are unplayable, PCs are unusable. The absolute worst of the worst, nothing compared to the speeds others get in the area on different network. Avoid like the plague, has caused endless grief and hassle since day one.

Usually it is just unstable, sometimes working sometimes disconnecting. Occasionally it fails when I am making a transaction. This week it completely stops working and after speaking with customer service for 2 hours we were told that they needed 2 days to fix it. Next day, we were then told that they needed another 5 days. Next day they said it was fixed but it's not - spending another 3-4 hours with them going through stupid processes that we'd tried, and they told us that it needs another engineer visit 5 days after. When I asked for compensation, they said it's by day, which means £0.67 per day. What an amazing experience with Sky.
We spent in total 6 hours on non-sense communications and days without Internet, and also need to wait for the engineer to finish the work and will get less than £10 compensation :)

Feel free to consider Sky if you are up for the experience.

Very bad, poor, amateur customer service. Every agent says different. Because of them i was not able to cancel my package on time and their dodgy company charges me a few pounds.
Don't buy sky internet product! Internet speed was very slow especially upload value was killing me which was 0.20 mbit max.

Totally unsatisfied and never ever sky again.

Worst service I’ve had ever. I was a sole trader and changed to a limited trader recently. I had a contract with Sky and called them to change the contract according to my new status, as the company as it was prior to the change would no longer exist. The CS staff member informed me that my contract would therefore have to be cancelled and an early termination fee charged to myself. I explained I did not wish to end the contract and wanted to stay with sky. He was
Having none of it and kept insisting I pay the fee. He was rude throughout and I believe even racist as he seemed to be talking down to myself. My husband then took over the call and the CS staff member spoke to him like dirt. He refused to talk at first and after I gave permission for him to speak on my behalf the CS agent instantly spoke down to my husband, not being interested in what he had to say. He even said he didn’t want to talk to my husband. My husband turned to me and stated the rude individual wouldn’t speak to him like that face to face. After which this individual then began ranting that he’d been threatened with violence. Unbelievable. Saying that a person wouldn’t speak to one face to face rudely is considered a ‘threat of violence.’ The CS agent then slammed the phone down. Disgusting behaviour and the worst treatment after years of being with sky, in my home and business. I’m now leaving sky and they can send as many threatening letters as they want. I simply wanted to inform them of the change of circumstances. I did not want to leave or end my contract. I feel the responses I received were Rude, arrogant, trying to humiliate and belittle me and even racist. He was literally talking down to me, like I was stupid or lower than him. I am registered disabled and tried explaining that I am partly deaf which is why I’m loud. My tone is loud due to my partial deafness. He didn’t seem to listen or care and continued to insult me by insisting I was shouting and belittle me and my husband constantly. Sky never ever again.
Customer service is below zero. I’ve been with sky since 2005 on and off but never ever face such a rude person. Am definitely leaving sky one way or other.

MY YEAR OF HELL WITH SKY.
First I will say sky was ok at one time. But not now. When you join them there will insure your broadband it very good for the first 30 days, as you have the right to cancel in that time, but there don`t want that. After that your problems will start, speed will start being reduce, etc.my problem was I have to turn it all off at the main`s just get on broadband to open any pages, ive watch it going on and of all year, trying to get on youtube a nightmare. And the customer service, is diabolical, there will never admit that its skys problem, there get you to do stupid things, try to blame your PC,try all the time to say it`s not sky fault, you are getting ex amount of broadband speed down the line, etc, etc, sky are only responsible to send to the main socket, etc, shall say no more. But leave with this, YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.CHEAP IS NOT THE BEST.im going with BT fibre in 2 days time, got a good deal, and if that is no better after the year im turning it all OFF.

Well were do you start with this company, personaly it should be shut down.well my experience so far, when it works its ok,(that's when it works)most times its hit & miss,im forever having to turn it off at the mains to get an internet, and when you phone customer services, which are a complete joke, you try to explain what is happening with the broadband, first there say you are getting ex amount down the line to the Maine SOCKET,(which according to them is all there need to do to take your money)hard luck if its not coming into your home, then the next bit is blaming everything else except sky, well for 7 months now ive watched the broadband going off on off on,just last night had internet on (and it turned itself off & on 3 times, but if I phone customer services, that is not happening, realy, realy BAD customer services, sorry to say LIEING,come naturaly to them.and im sorry to say mosy other IP providers are the same.SKY used to be ok at one time,BUT I WOULD SAY DONT TOUCH THEM PEOPLE.

Broadband is an absolute joke. We have been having issues with it for 4 months now. They have sent out engineers 3 times but still can't figure out what the problem is. We have replaced the hub with the new one thinking the old one had a problem. Every time we are having to phone them to reset it over there and it works for few days and it's completely off again. Worst broadband ever!!!!

I can't even give it a one star! Is there a -1 star option available instead? Absolute nightmare! What does SKY stands for- Scammer, KissAss,Yucky! I think that pretty much sums up your company. You have this scammer policy but you kiss ass to customers by telling them how 'amazing' your product is and how they will suit them with a yucky after service. When I wanted to pay, there was no question on customers ID but when I had an issue, you hung up on me
just because I can't remember my ID?! Your manager said you pride yourself in your customer service. I can see why! Being rude and hanging up on customer is definitely more of
a complishment compared to your scammer policy. Before I started with your company, you promised that I will have fixed monthly plan but that did not happened as you then increased it later even though I have paid for twelve month in advance! And on top of then when I made the payment for 12 month in advance you said I don't have to pay anymore! But I was still charged! And finally after that 12 month I was able to break free from this evil curse where I am now able to terminate this contract because apparently I can't terminate whenever I want but you may charged me however you want and just use there is an increase in the rental line. I think they call it a fixed plan whereby its a fixed amount that is taken each time not whenever I feel like increasing the payment I could, especially not after I have made payment for that 12 months in advance, you charge me £27.90! Bravo! You truly are a scumbag! Your evil intentions must be seen through by your current customers and with the amount of negative reviews, your drop
out rates must be more than your sign up rate! Is that the reason why you rob of your customers? I pity you pathetic company!

Broadband really struggles when two or more people are using apps like YouTube while connected to wi-fi which you wouldn’t expect when paying 50+ pound for internet, wouldn’t recommend unless living alone.

Had no service for almost a week for 12 hours every day, had engineer visits cancelled because. They're. "not needed" with no other reason given even though I still have the problem and nothings been done to fix it... Constantly given the run around. This is actually awful service. The staff lie to you to try and make you stay and not CANCEL.DONT GO WITH SKY.

I don't even know what to write without getting unreasonably angry.

We've had "fibre" (FTTC) for nearly 2 years now. For the first 2 months, didnt work and our phoneline was dead. Kept reporting it, kept getting told either "nothing was wrong" or "it'll be working soon". just as we threatened to take things further, it started to all work again. Since then, spotty internet with speeds anywhere between 5mb and 15mb and a noisy line.

For the last month, our internet has been down to less than 1mb (when it works). Again, complaints to Sky do nothing as they keep saying "nothing is wrong, thats the speed you've always had". Ridiculous. Contract is now up, so we're changing to literally ANYONE else.

A note to any prospective customers: AVOID @sky broadband at all costs, we have had a terrible experience. We contacted to request broadband set up in December and were told earliest line would be available was 21st Jan because "lines controlled by BT". We waited the full time quoted (a long time to go without the internet in a new home!) and it wasn't set up correctly for that date, and every day since we've had to call them for any update, to be told each day that it will definitely be resolved that evening. Today, with still no internet at home, we have finally been told it will be at least 4th Feb before anything is sorted. Customer service has been appalling and sky consistently blame BT for fault as they own lines - we have had to chase for updates and sky take no responsibility - if you don't even have the authority to set up a line by your agreed date (or any date thereafter) don't offer a broadband service! I often work from home and have had to go to any nearby location with wi-fi for a week now, and there is no sign of any change. We really regret ever signing up to sky broadband and unless you want a similar experience I would suggest you don't either. AVOID!!!!

We just lost broadband on Wednesday 19.10.16. It took 5 calls to sky services to get help. Friday, the engineer came and checked the line-all OK. he will file report and we can call for new router . Sky services will charge us £70 plus £20 delivery charge becouse contract expired and we are not insured, but if we extend contract, router for free.
Conspiracy theory - have they deliberately disconnected broadband to get us into extension of contract
Why do I think this way, well, tv and phone are still working properly. What a mess, just when I need broadband the mousy.

I my opinion the braodband was not bad. However we had problems when we started use it, as we had to proof to the SKY customer service adviser that phone line is not working because of their fault. Finally when we had to cancel the contract, as we were leaving UK, I have read in terms and conditions that I have to leave 31days notice, but for some reason sky customer service adviser told me she can cut off the service after 14days, of course!! Why not? I paid my termination fees straight away, and after one month I saw on my bank account I was charged again for termination fees by SKY!!! So I called to customer service from abroad and I was told that it is my fault not their adviser as I knew I had to leave 31days notice. So means adviser pushed me into trouble? the worst service ever, unfortunately ;/ disappointed :/

We were with sky for a year and it was all good. However, when we moved house and chose to stay with sky all the problems began.

We had an openreach engineer come around to fix the line. Halfway through the appointment he went out to work at the street cabinet, then came back and said he would continue the work later. We never heard from him for the rest of the day. I called sky and they were not able to help or even contact open reach to check what the issue was. All they offered was to rebook the appointment 3 weeks later. This was frustrating as we were working from home and really needed wifi. But we were patient.

3 weeks later, I get a text from openreach at 9:00 confirming the engineer has been assigned and is on his way. 10 mins later another text from Sky to say the appointment was missed. Jokes! Called sky and they were unable to contact openreach again. The notes said "client was not at the property." That was a lie, we were home amd waiting. We even received a courier package around 8:45. My timeslot was between 8:00 to 13:00 and yet Sky were unable to rebook on the same day. I was made to wait another 2 weeks through no fault of mine. I had to make other arrangements to make sure I was able to work.

I understand that this was mainly Openreach's fault but the fact that Sky could do nothing to help is really frustrating. Not staying with them after my contract ends.

Possibly the worst internet connection EVER !! TOTAL waste of money , now having to move to BT so we can actually use WiFi .

The only decent thing about it is the tv packages but think again if you want to use multi room & a WiFi boost cause it won’t work ! First time customer & it took nearly 4 lengthily phone calls to have the charge for the boosters removed as it wasn’t providing the service we are paying for . I spoke to one lady who was incredible & made the changes instantly meaning the other people I spoke to just wanted to tip us off !

It’s made wfh absolutely impossible during a time when we have needed what we are paying for most !!

Had nothing but trouble with Sky broadband since they took over Febuary 2014. Never had any problem when 02 were running the service. Since Sky, the connection has been intermittent, dropping off and on throughout the day. Would NOT recommend them to anybody.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY - in the middle of July I agreed to switch to Sky from BT as they were proposing a minimum broadband speed of 55 Mbps which was more than I was getting at BT (50Mbps-ish). I agreed to do so and agreed to sign for 18 months for a whole package that included TV, calls and Broadband.
I was told the activation day was 23 July - a date when I was already on my holiday. I called them and I was told I shouldn't worry, as the engineer will switch everything on his own so I won't even need to be in. I also told them I will only be back at the end of August. They told me OK, I should just allow some fluctuation of the speed in the first 10 days after I start using the internet.
When we came back and started using the broadband we noticed the speed is always between 44 and 49 Mbps, which is lower than the one we had at BT and much lower than the guaranteed 55 Mbps. I waited more than 2 weeks, but it did not get any better, so I decided to reach out to Sky. Almost a week passed and their Live chat was always busy, no matter when I tried to contact them. So I decided to contact them via FB message today... it is now 5 hours later, and the best their advisor was able to tell me on the chat is to take a picture of my telephone socket where my Sky Hub is connected to...
So I also called them via phone - that suddenly disconnected after 5 minutes when I explained my problem.
But I am feisty and now raging, so called them again. The advisor on the phone was very helpful.... but after 2 hours on the phone I was told that despite the fact that I am using online billing and I got all the notifications about the switch online, they sent me a paper letter via post stating the minimum speed they can guarantee is 40 Mbps (!) despite the 55 Mbps I can still see on my account and I only had 14 days after the date of my activation to raise a complaint...
So currently I am stuck with a terrible Sky Broadband and TV I am not even watching for 16+ more months, as unfortunately I am not able to do anything as - according to Sky - they have done EVERYTHING LEGALLY to provide the service to me and to INFORM me that they are not able to guarantee the minimum of 55 Mbps.
At the end of the phone call I was told they MIGHT be able to waive the minimum term on the BROADBAND - which I would be glad to accept, but as I told earlier, I bought a package consisting of 3 products...
So despite the fact I wanted to cancel Sky TV back in July I agreed to a minimum term for a package that was supposed to deliver a minimum broadband speed of 55 Mbps (average of 63 Mbps - according to their website) that I am not getting, but they are at least waiving the minimum term for one of the products, so I still have 16+ months to pay for the TV package that I am not watching.

All in all, only sign up with Sky and accept a minimum term if:
-you are able to actually test their services in the first 14 days of their service, otherwise you are stuck with a terrible service
-you are ready to read every word of their letters sent via post twice to make sure you are not getting much less for your money than you are supposed to
-you are happy with a guaranteed minimum of 40 Mbps instead of a (supposedly) guaranteed minimum of 55 Mbps (average of 63 Mbps - in your dreams!)
-you are happy to pay for a service you are NOT getting
-you are happy to pay for a whole package for the minimum term, regardless of the quality of their service
-you are happy to spend a whole day trying to reach them and find a solution for your problem
-you are happy to get a half-solution for your problem, which is supposedly the best they could offer as a compensation for their own lies.

Got to be one of the smoothest interactions with sky we have ever had, and we’ve been with sky for over 10 years now. Patrick got us a deal and a discount, no hassle, no pushy selling, just great and genuine service. Sky should give this man a pay rise!
