The worst customer service. So bad it has to be deliberate. When you do finally get problem sorted according to agent it turns out to be a lie. Now left and that in itself been a nightmare. Overcharge. Money taken without authority. Equipment returned but they say not and now want to charge. Each dept does not have a clue what other is doing and don't even try to get hold of a human being. Avoid at all costs. Not worth the grief

Reliable service but watch out for dodgy price hikes after a few months. Makes their advertising false. Should be reported to OFCOM. This practice is nothing more than a shake down.

2 Months into my 12 month broadband contract, my speed has dropped from 8Mb to 5Mb.

Phoned Sky and they said that that speed is fine and they will do nothing. They gave no reason for my speed dropping by almost half.

Have lived here for 11 years with the same phone line. BT, TalkTalk and PlusNet all gave me 8Mb all the time.

Sky Internet is literally the worst provider ever. We have been disconnected from our broadband six times this week, their customer support sounds like you're talking to robots and here's the worst part:

I was promised a 55Mbps connection, and I've got the speed of like 500Kb/s even on Ethernet. There's nothing wrong with my computer or my router's position, it's the complete company of idiocy known well as Sky. And the bills are totally shocking!

I like Sky TV but it's a no go for their broadband. Even AOL back in the 90's was better than this complete and utter rubbish.

NEVER GET SKY INTERNET!! The broadband service is horrifying and drops constantly to which the self heal prompt doesn’t do sh1t! Call customer service 7 times through which they wouldn’t even book me an appointment with an engineer and after that just didn’t respond to my calls. Never ever get sky, biggest ripoff and lies in my life!

Absolutely shocking! Stay well clear of sky when it comes to broadband. We went with sky for a deal on our Internet, TV and phone. The latter two we have no issues with. The broadband however is an absolute joke! We were with Virgin who were absolutely fine and gave good service. We are returning to them as of today. The connection to sky is more off than ever on, slow and does not even reach our 2nd floor, when the box is only on the first floor. Try to go on the Internet past 10.30pm you have no chance, it's like it's closing time in the Sky office and they flick the broadband switch off till 9am the following morning. It is so fustrating and at times stressful, when waiting for pages to load or a little bit of signal to come back when you've been sitting there for an 1hr just hoping for the loading page to load! Please take my advice and stay well away from Sky!!

after being with NTL then Diamond Cable and finally Virgin for about 20 years we moved to Sky with the offer of essentially a free years service (offset by M&S vouchers). They say "up to" 17Mb/s they estimated that we would get 5-11Mb/s (which would be fine) but we only actually get 0.8-1Mb/s down and 0.5Mb up. After talking to them ont he phoen they say the maximumkj we could ever get would be 3.7Mb/s they didnt bother telling us that when we were signing up. We;ve been super busy this last month or so what with christmas an all so now were trapped in this pathetic service for another 11 months. Ill be complaining to OFCOM about their sharp practices first thing in the morning. UPTO 17Mb my arris. what a complete shady rip off.

I have been a sky customer for many years. I moved house 4 months ago , got set up and the engineer told me one of the boxes needs hardwiring . After 2 engineer visits I completely had had enough of sky . From customer services that don't log your problem correctly to the overall communication within the company . The download was that slow we couldn't even watch a 4 k program.Upon cancelling my broadband after explaining how appallingly I'd been treated , they weren't even bothered . They have also lost 4 mobile phone contracts as all of my household was going to switch to sky . I'm that angry with sky , the TV will also soon be going.

I cant even get the thing installed let alone use it! I know this is probably BT's issue just as much as Sky but the service and booking system - information flow between companies IS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING. First engineer could not wait 5 minutes for me to arrive at home - then upon cancelling the request it has now been 3 days and the system still wont let me re-book. I have just been told by Sky I can not book until Monday now...5 days later...

Absolutely ABYSMAL. Steer well clear. Shockingly bad. I ordered high fibre broadband in July. Openreach kept cancelling my order. Every time I rang I was told a different story. 11 phone calls later I was told they don’t provide to this postcode. In the meantime I’d incurred a huge mobile bill due to lack of WiFi and broadband. I was told they’d refer the matter to Openreach who’d write to me with an offer of compensation. £5 per each day I was without broadband. 2 weeks on and NOTHING. I just rang Sky and they knew nothing about it. Steer well clear of these clowns that r you’ll regret it...

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY - in the middle of July I agreed to switch to Sky from BT as they were proposing a minimum broadband speed of 55 Mbps which was more than I was getting at BT (50Mbps-ish). I agreed to do so and agreed to sign for 18 months for a whole package that included TV, calls and Broadband.
I was told the activation day was 23 July - a date when I was already on my holiday. I called them and I was told I shouldn't worry, as the engineer will switch everything on his own so I won't even need to be in. I also told them I will only be back at the end of August. They told me OK, I should just allow some fluctuation of the speed in the first 10 days after I start using the internet.
When we came back and started using the broadband we noticed the speed is always between 44 and 49 Mbps, which is lower than the one we had at BT and much lower than the guaranteed 55 Mbps. I waited more than 2 weeks, but it did not get any better, so I decided to reach out to Sky. Almost a week passed and their Live chat was always busy, no matter when I tried to contact them. So I decided to contact them via FB message today... it is now 5 hours later, and the best their advisor was able to tell me on the chat is to take a picture of my telephone socket where my Sky Hub is connected to...
So I also called them via phone - that suddenly disconnected after 5 minutes when I explained my problem.
But I am feisty and now raging, so called them again. The advisor on the phone was very helpful.... but after 2 hours on the phone I was told that despite the fact that I am using online billing and I got all the notifications about the switch online, they sent me a paper letter via post stating the minimum speed they can guarantee is 40 Mbps (!) despite the 55 Mbps I can still see on my account and I only had 14 days after the date of my activation to raise a complaint...
So currently I am stuck with a terrible Sky Broadband and TV I am not even watching for 16+ more months, as unfortunately I am not able to do anything as - according to Sky - they have done EVERYTHING LEGALLY to provide the service to me and to INFORM me that they are not able to guarantee the minimum of 55 Mbps.
At the end of the phone call I was told they MIGHT be able to waive the minimum term on the BROADBAND - which I would be glad to accept, but as I told earlier, I bought a package consisting of 3 products...
So despite the fact I wanted to cancel Sky TV back in July I agreed to a minimum term for a package that was supposed to deliver a minimum broadband speed of 55 Mbps (average of 63 Mbps - according to their website) that I am not getting, but they are at least waiving the minimum term for one of the products, so I still have 16+ months to pay for the TV package that I am not watching.

All in all, only sign up with Sky and accept a minimum term if:
-you are able to actually test their services in the first 14 days of their service, otherwise you are stuck with a terrible service
-you are ready to read every word of their letters sent via post twice to make sure you are not getting much less for your money than you are supposed to
-you are happy with a guaranteed minimum of 40 Mbps instead of a (supposedly) guaranteed minimum of 55 Mbps (average of 63 Mbps - in your dreams!)
-you are happy to pay for a service you are NOT getting
-you are happy to pay for a whole package for the minimum term, regardless of the quality of their service
-you are happy to spend a whole day trying to reach them and find a solution for your problem
-you are happy to get a half-solution for your problem, which is supposedly the best they could offer as a compensation for their own lies.

Absolutely appalling. Terrible customer service. Shockingly bad. Wanted to upgrade my broadband to faster speed. So far it’s taken 10 phone calls (and each time I’m given a different story) and 2 months and it’s STILL not been sorted out. And all the time I’m paying for broadband I’m not receiving and my mobile bills are Sky high as I’ve no wi fi. Please please please don’t get broadband with these clowns because if you do, you will be sorry. Time for me to contact Trading Standards I think....

Absolutely terrible Broadband service. I have been with Sky for 2.5 years. Times of slowness or no internet is expected every now and again, however i have now struggled for over 3 months with an internet service that is slower than dial up (I had quicker internet 12 years ago). For the past 4 weeks i have had no more than 1mbps, i was expected to have up to 17mbps. Spoke to customer service who advised i need to pay £65 for them to fix this problem... really?!! i didn't realise the customer should pay to fix a service issue when we already pay for a service that isn't working properly!! Only other option i was given was to sign a new contract with Sky and they would fix this for free. Who in the right mind signs a contract for another 12 months on an internet that bad.. you will be right to assume i am leaving Sky and will not recommend there service to anyone, they don't care for existing customers.

This is the worst broadband and company so far. They will charge you for service you are not enjoying. My broadband is not working and they said I would have to wait for when the engineer will be available and I will still have to pay for the period the broadband is not working. And they agreed the fault is from their side. I will never advise anyone to subscribe to sky

Having subscribed to sky boost,I had to threaten to leave Sky after seven open reach engineers, seven Sky engineers could not resolve the constant dropping out of my internet connection , disappointed that I was left to resolve the problem on my own without Sky resolving it for me.

My standard cabled Sky Broadband has never been impressive with regular buffering when streaming video, but since the advent of fibre optic broadband it seems to have gone even worse. Is this an attempt to shepherd us like sheep over to the more expensive fibre optic broadband packages? perhaps so. The 'service' became even more unreliable every day and sometimes off for hours every day for 2 weeks so I contacted Sky to request my mac code to change to PlusNet and was asked what offers PlusNet were quoting. I told him, and he said ok I can offer you the same deal for 12 months as PlusNet do. I said I just want a RELIABLE service so he said I will send you a free Sky Broadband Hub (worth £75) and also free delivery. He said I guarantee with the Hub you will have no more problems. I agreed "To try it" and when it arrived the service was no different. A couple of days later I received a letter from Sky reminding me that with the new Hub I now have a new 12 months contract with Sky and any cancelling of the contract will incur charges. So theres no such thing as a free Hub it comes with the need to be tied to Sky for the 12 months unless I am happy to pay for 2 providers at the same time, which at the moment is a tempting idea just to get rid of Sky Broadband. Recent testing by me of the download speed is 0.3 mbs. A long way off the 15 often quoted by Sky. I would settle for 3 mbs to be honest and I'm getting a tenth of that at the moment. The moral is beware of Sky Broadband Advisors bearing gifts. The strings attached may tie you down for 12 months. I just wanted to relay my experiences and fore-warned is fore-armed.

I've been with Sky for several years and their customer service used to be superb. Unfortunately it's gone downhill and now sits within the rest of its competitors (i.e. mediocre). They are scared witless of BT and could therefore offer me a competitive deal when I was renewing my contract. The trouble is the performance of the router is so bad I can only use the wifi downstairs and within a 3-4m range. Its truly woeful. They cleverly (some may say sneakily) only guarantee the speed into your router (which is what was promised), but anything beyond that is down to me. Reading reviews on the internet, the router is the worst on the market and therefore I'm not getting my fibreoptic service in 80% of my house. Ironically I can pick up all of the neighbours' BT wifi.

Internet connection drops 2 3 times a day. I called Sky customer service and the solutions were unbelievable. First solution was to record when the internet si dropping for 5 more times. (Like this is going to make the internet working again). I did that, called them back and their other solution si to move the router further away from the socket. Yes that will stop the internet dropping randomly.
I called them back, and the solution was for them to send us another router. The router didn't help with anything. And finally after we had to threat them that we are going to close the contract and they decided to send an 'Engineer'. The Engineer did nothing, even worse i didn't have the internet for a day because he replaced the master socket and didn't connect the cables properly. So now after 2 months with the internet dropping randomly during the day and with 2 'Engineers' looking at the problem nothing changed. Internet drops for 2 3 hours a day and they do not care about their customers at all...

Awful. WiFi Cuts out all the time and with my fibre package, I only get 0.3 - 4 Mbps. Honestly terrible and wouldn't recommend. No one wants to fix it because they say its running at full speed but multiple speed tests say different. Switched from them and I'm not looking back

Just atrocious. The speed is terrible, but the reliability is worse. At least twice a day we have fo restart the sky router because it has lost connection and when it does work, the speed is terrible. I've used many other providers over the years and Sky really sucks. Holding back the UK. I can't wait until the contract ends. Avoid avoid avoid.
