Sky used to be brilliant for broadband but they have gone downhill drastically. After being a valued customer for over 3 years I have finally bitten the bullet and left. For the past 12months my broadband connection was very limited and would stop working completely for a week at a time every month! When I would ring up for help I would be told I had to pay £65 upfront for an engineer visit,I would refuse and miraculously my internet would start working again the next day!Speed would be slow when it was working and it would be very unreliable. Please stay away from Sky for broadband as you will only regret it.

Sky was ok until a few weeks ago, unless of course you had to call customer services and you didn't have half a day to spend sitting on the phone listening to their annoying music and repetitive messages. The last few weeks the broadband speed late at night has, at times been comparable to the old dial up internet. In addition to this, the broadband connection keeps dropping off after 12am (when customer services is closed) I have often had to reboot the router. It happened again tonight and I was on the phone for 35 minutes, at which point customer services was shut again. I then tried to put a new post on the community forum but could not find where the hell I was supposed to enter a new topic. Absolute shambles. DO NOT sign up to Sky. My contract is up in a few months and I will be leaving them

Very poor, previous broadband provider was really good an I wish I had stayed with them. Skys router is poor, we now have blackspots all over the house and Sky just want to charge me more to overcome this. Previous router from other supplier worked fine so obviously Skys equipment is poor. Nothing they can do apart from charge me more! Useless.

DON'T SWITCH TO SKY!!! I Switched from BT to Sky - BAD idea. Wifi rubbish!!! doesn't work most of time so was advised to buy sky wifi extender- it didn't make 1 iota of difference. Opted to cancel during the ten day cooling off period. Sky won't refund the money I paid for extender & I now need to pay a £60 re-connection fee to BT so far I'm out of pocket to the tune of £80 & worst of all no wifi for a month until switch takes place.

I've been a sky customer for over 10 years, running a smooth TV services and having mixed experiences with broadband.
I decided to fully upgrade my package for TV+BB and at the very end of the sales process I am informed that installation of the Sky Q box (the necessary piece of kit to extend my BB to the whole house) will take 70 days!!!! This is misselling to say the least. The day before agreed installation date they pushed it forward another 2 weeks. On the next installation date, they did not turn up, did not call and re arranged for 8 days later. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER, SHAMBOLIC, TOTAL DISREGARD TO ITS CUSTOMERS. SOLD SOMETHING THAT THEY CANNOT DELIVER.
Suggest you go somewhere else to source your TV and broadband services.

Not going to choose this broadband again. After 6 months of contract they decided to change the price, even though the contract was for a year. Is it even legal? The speed is not so good if everyone in the household use their computers - 3 of us overall. Not convenient if working from home. Choose something else.

i wanted to sell my iphoneSE to back to sky in a sky trade in i was sending two phones back at the same time , and they got mixed up , the iphoneSE and the huawei mate pro 20 , they have sold the huawei mate pro 20 , instead of the iphoneSE they say they have a system in place that if the wrong phone is sent they will send it back in my case the wrong phone was sent , and it did not get sent back to me , so i no longer have this phone and they still are trying to change me 700 pounds for something i dont own and something they have sold on without my permission , the original sale was for the iphone SE very clearly worth 35 pounds in a the picture i sent them , so they have sold on a phone i did not give them any authority to sell and now are refusing to believe thats the one i was selling and now are expecting me to pay 700 pounds which now is a sum total of 2 phones worth 1400 only one of which i have in my possession and they are trying to charge me for there mistake , i cannot pay this amount of money , they then said i had to confirm or deny this action and i did neither so without my permission has sold a phone worth 700 pounds and now charging me for it i do not have this phone in my possession i have sent it to them back they have said it got sent to the wrong department and in this case the phone i sent back was only 2 days old , and they are refusing to understand , will not take this off my bill and so i will be paying an extra 20 pounds a month for there mistake

As a Sky customer for the last 12 years I can say without hesitation that if your looking for an ISP then you should have no fear if you choose Sky, customer service is excellent their personal are always polite, broadbands speeds and reliability are very good, only thing that could be better is the price.

I have no satellite signal for about a month and have spoken to customer services on a number of occasions. They are the most unhelpful people ever. They won’t send an engineer. And they say I should sort it out myself with my managing agents. I am so so frustrated with them. I want to cancel my subscription. They are a total waste of time. Taking your money but I get nothing for it.

So far so great! We've had sky broadband for almost a year now. Very reliable. If it goes out you just need to wait a few seconds or disconnect and reconnect right away and it will perfect. Customer service has been great. They've been really nice, answered all our questions and when we had a problem they were very reassuring and sorted the problem right away. Not perfect but pretty close!

Single handedly the worst wifi system I've ever had any experience with. Completely useless and pathetic and breaks and bugs out constantly. Always saying "connected with no Internet" and generally just not working and being slow. Awful.

Sky has been great for us for years and we have only just started to have problems with it. I think this is because working from home is a lot more demanding but when we rang to end our contract because we where moving to Zen the person was very understanding and polite overall I would get this if you have young children through their first faze of using technology overall great!

For a couple of days now I have been trying to push them for a refund of a balance in credit after cancelling their services. There are only 2 contact options available: fb messenger and a phone number. WAITING TIME ON FB : 70 minutes!!!!!!!!! When trying to call them, I am constantly getting a message about the staff being in training and the waiting time over 30 min!!! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXSIST!

17th September 2015 – NIGHTMARE- HORRIBLE SERVICE- DO NOT GET SKY BROADBAND

My flatmate and I have been Sky customers for over a year. One month before leaving our flat, my flatmate called Sky to inform them that we would be leaving on the 12th of October and would like to cancel our account on that date. The discussion lasted an hour and we were told that this would take effect on the date we had advised. This morning (17th September – weeks ahead of the cancellation date) I realised that my Internet had stopped working, upon calling Sky I was informed that my account had been cancelled and that there is a glitch in their system by which they automatically cancel the account once they are called. The sales person apologised and admitted that someone had complained about this just the other week and that Sky should have informed my flatmate that he should ring to cancel our account two weeks before leaving and one month ahead of the leaving date (It seems being organised is a problem for Sky). Admittedly I was furious but under the impression that Sky would admit their mistake and turn my Wi-Fi back on, however to my disgust, I was told it would take TWO WEEKS for the account and therefore Internet to be back up. I would be without my Sky Internet, landline and TV for two weeks. I was fuming over the phone and asked to speak to the manager. I asked Sky to somehow fast-track this process as this situation was ridiculous, however I was told by both, the person on the phone and the manager (who had spoken to multiple Sky departments) that there was nothing that could be done in terms of fast-tracking the two weeks process. Upon asking for some sort of compensation as they had already billed us for the month of September, I was told no compensation could be given. I have ultimately reduced to buying Wi-Fi from a different service provider that I will have to pay for for the remainder of my stay at the flat.

I would encourage all of you to think twice before signing on with Sky. The least you would expect as a loyal customer is to get some form of compensation other than a sorry for screwing up, unfortunately in Sky’s case, it is too much to ask!

Will not recommend Sky services to anyone in the UK!

I wish I could give minus stars... My broadband was meant to be set up 24th March. It took them good couple weeks after the date to announce that they can’t complete my order and it’s getting canceled. My option - to create another order with installation date 3 weeks away. Open reach was blamed, however no communication or explanation came from Sky either. Person I spoke to said he will take it under his control. And second person as well... Guess what? The date came and went. Couple weeks later, yet again, I received a message that my order cannot be completed and I need to call. When I did, the person on the phone said my order is getting canceled and we need to place another one. Yet again. I said I want to escalate as it’s getting ridiculous. No explanation why this is happening either. Got a call (eventually) from escalation team. Was offered to place another order with installation date another 3 weeks away )))) Decided I've had enough of them and not going to wait any longer only to be told again that they cannot complete my order and have to cancel it. With no explanation. Obviously, no internet affected my whole household including children. But do they care? Of cause not. Attention of trading standards is necessary, as Sky have no idea about what customer service is and do not keep their promises leaving customer waiting for nothing for months. The third date for the order would’ve been 28th May. How unprofessional...

Their idea of broadband is two underpaid pensioners sitting in the basement and pulling cables to tell the other pensioner at the telephone exchange to phone up China Post and request a packet via carrier pigeon. And when you phone to complain about the rather terrible speed of 1Megabytes/s (typically at 950Kilobytes/s) with an upload max 60kilobytes/s which if maxed out at peak times typically kills the connection, horrible ping at peak times (>150ms) with >30% packet loss, horrible hardware (and software) that has been designed by a nursery child or the fact that you internet has dropping consistently throughout the day you not only have to pay but also put up with the most mundane check list diagnosis that you've tried many times but also the lack of any fix.

Even better there is no fibre optic , atleast in this block until BT or Virgin get their bottoms in gear, (although BT says that they're 'rolling out' a couple meters of cable for a while now; about 6 months) I'm sure I'll never get the Sky package as if there is anything to be gained from this 'experience' is that their 'fibre optic' plan is shining two key chain lights down a gutter.

We had sky broad for over 6 years + at the starting it's was amazing but afterwards it went down hill. My work revolves round being online and I use to walk around the house to find were I can get the best connection and I use to normal take 2-3 hours finishing certain things. And times I had to drive to the nearest costa or mcd just to get Internet. I have switched to BT now it's been three weeks and wow I have got my life back. Before we're it use to cut and crash now I get the same work done in less then an hour. I didn't change ovet earlier cause i didn't want to go through the headake of change but thank god I did.

Terrible service since Sky fibre installation. Sky cannot resolve and recommended we cancel and go elsewhere. We did and now Sky TV service does not work effectively with another supplier. After 30 calls plus and 6 engineer visits they are struggling to resolve and acknowledge it’s a known problem. Pretty much been told to go somewhere else for our tv service. At a loss in what to do.

Joined in January 18. Was suggested my speed would be 15mbps.

My actual speed is 4.5mbps. The line drops out regularly and after 6 weeks the price has increased by £1.25 per month.

Need I say more...avoid sky broadband. It may seem cheap but it most definitely is NOT worth it.

Such a waste. Terrible. Switched from normal sky broadband to max fibre six months ago and never had a day of good internet since then. Discussed the problem with sky several times and each time all they did was to say their tests show no problems. I have pictures of the router admin page that shows the broadband is disconnected but they come up with useless solutions like move the router away from this or that. Useless.

Avoid Sky internet at all costs.. We pay £100 a month for the package and get terrible internet. It cuts out all the time, we have had engineers out, new routers, new filters, changed internet channels regularly and numerous phone calls. We shall be leaving Sky with their unreliable, useless internet

I’ve been costumer of Sky broadband for almodt 2 years.
The ser Vice they provide is dreadful, conection drops at léase twice a week. I have to call and they fix it from their computers, but the conection has dropped around 25 time in less than 24 house. They say that the cables are old and now they need to remplace them. Now i dont have broadbad for one week because they cannot send a person before. They dont even refound because they say the contract is for rental line phone (i dont have phone) and the broadnad id for free. So i still paying even when i dont have the chance to use the broadband. This is a legal fraud, New costurera be aware of this.

SKY Broadband is the typical offering here in the UK - utter garbage and about the same speed as the internet was when I was on blueyonder 20 years ago - only just 10mbs. Broadband suppliers like sky deliver the absolute minimum possible in terms of speed and reliability; it is so bad in this country it is a scandal, and both the companies and the legislators should be ashamed of themselves.

I am from Brazil, I had bad internet providers before, but this is by FAR, the worst broadband I had for the past 15 years... I can barely submit a review... Called 10 times to sort it out, they change the channel I point to, works fine for a day, and for the next week it's shitty until I call again... RUN from Sky!

A comprehensively shambolic experience. Sky Broadband is a complete and utter waste of money. For over 5 years now the company have failed to provide the advertised speeds or reliability it claims to offer. Instead of fixing the issues, they offer an upgraded, and more expensive, package which again failed to provide even a basic internet connection for the most part. Even with SkyFibre I am unable, even to watch YouTube at the best of times and I can draw no other conclusion but that the company straight up lies about my Fibre connection. Being with sky has been a torturous, unpleasant, aggravating experience which I can finally rid myself of this month by moving house. There are likely faster internet connections in the wilds of Russian Siberia than the speeds provided by Sky in my very urban, non rural place of residence. The half life of fundamental particles such as the proton have seemingly quicker decays than the download speeds when Sky is your ISP, and boy would it be more fun to watch the entire decay process for 10^32 years, than it is to have Sky internet. I would not wish this Service upon anyone. 0/10

When moving house they have failed to move the broadband, we're still waiting after 5 weeks with no broadband for all this time. Now they are making cancellations and switching to other providers near impossible. You can never talk to a person on the phone, the robot either doesn't understand what you are saying or just passes you onto the facebook messenger service, before hanging up on you. There is no contact email. The facebook messenger service take ages to reply and always seem to be passing you over to other people so that your query and problems never get solved. So all in all lousy customer support, the phone number they provide as cost me £82 so far!

Moved to Sky from BT. Landline down since Friday. Not Sky's fault but Sky is impossible to contact - always busy and cut you off every time. Wouldn't mind so much if they could be in contact. Now trying by messages and have been waiting four hours. Dreadful customer service, wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
