As an ex customer of talk talk...oh the horror the unrelenting horror...Sky has been hassle free.. to my amazement if there's a problem...dodgy line locally...rather than endlessly prevaricate, or attempt to placate you with a written script they actually resolve it... speed is adequate given this area...and the very few times I've had to speak with them...their clear precise and friendly...so felt it was worth relating this

My broadband has suddenly slowed today. Upload speed of 0.26mbps & download speed of 0.69.
I called sky...apparently there is a long wait.
The online chat is busy
There is no e-mail support
I think I am going to cancel.

We got the premium WiFi about 2 weeks ago. When we tested the speed it was about 10mbps (download speed). This was way below the promised speed. We contacted customer support. They simply said that they can't do anything. Around 3 weeks from the installation, the speed is 0.05mbps (download speed). The utter degeneration of the WiFi is disgusting.

Dreadful customer service from SKY. Moved house and needed to transfer my broadband. Minor problem that I had no phone socket in the new house. Horrendous time with the customer service department. In one week I spent 14 hours either waiting for a call to be answered, waiting for the online chat to be answered or being fobbed off. Told repeatedly they had completed a line test and all was good. Yes but I don’t have a phone socket and need an engineer from Openreach. They could not understand this and one of them deliberately cut me off. As soon as I said I would cancel, they offered to sort the situation. No thanks- even though I was in contract it cost me only a few quid to leave. Have now been chased by email trying to get me back with offers!! Within 24 hours the new provider had dispatched an engineer and sorted a problem SKY could not resolve. They are really good at getting you to sign up but woeful at resolving issues. DO NOT USE - find another provider.

No connection or phone now for 9 days. Took afternoon off work today for engineer between 1 and 5 pm as instructed and NOBODY came. Got text to say Peter on his way at about 12:45. Tries to text back but I think it was one way. Rang Sky and they blame BT OpenReach. What next I wonder? I cannot take another half day off and why should I believe it will be different. How rude and totally unprofessional. And I am paying for it. Service, what service. How does one claim compensation that is worth having? Help.

Never voluntarily use Sky broadband. Definitely never pay for it. Customer service is useless, connection is intermittent at its blindingly best performance. If you do ever find yourself with the misfortune to have to try to rely on sky broadband, make your way to the nearest macdonalds. Youll be better off with a coffee and the free wifi there, as your sky broadband will cut in and out with no warning, leaving you extremely frustrated and wondering why you ever got rid of your first dial-up connection.

I used Sky for four months after returning from abroad (my lodger chose them). Service was patchy, intermittent, with daily drop outs. I was with another provider previously for four years and never had any of these problems.
Now I'm switching to a new provider the Sky customer service don't seem to know their aszes from their elbows. Different stories, conflicting info. Had to give up on the first provider I tried to go with as the order was rejected because of the mess made by Sky not closing the line properly. And I missed out on their deal. With the new provider, Sky ceased two days ago and the new provider cannot provision the line because Sky have not done their job properly. If the order fails again then my new provider will have to send an engineer meaning in total it will take up to three weeks for me to get back online due to Sky's total incompetence. I have recently become self employed so three weeks offline is damaging my income potential. My verdict? Avoid like the plague. Hideously overpriced too, for such shoddy customer service.

Broadband speed has slowed to 3.3Mb today. It has been slow for a week now. Usually we can achieve 5.5Mb which is about as good as it gets in this area. Standard phone line speed is reckoned at 5.5Mb so we are the slowest around. Not happy. I shall be contacting Sky to see if they are slowing us down

Broadband speed varies between 0.25mb/sec and 1.8 my/ sec usually on the lower end. BBC I player unwatchable due to excessive buffering . Tried new router and all sky recommendations to no avail. Considering move to Virgin as it runs outside my property

Changed from bt infinity to sky broadband . Was told it was going to be 1-4 MB for the first month and then it would be upgraded to super fast fiber at 38 MB . 4 months later and we still have the same Internet as we started with . The internet speed isn't even between the 1-4 MB that was stated . It has been on average 0.7 MB , which is ridiculous . Would not recommend , cancelling the broadband consisted of around 6 different phone numbers being given to us to call and on average 15-20 minutes of being on hold . Terrible service all round .

I transferred from Talk Talk a couple of years ago for the obvious reason that Talk Talk are a waking nightmare. It was initially a real pleasure to be with Sky but unfortunately for whatever reason pretty much all aspects of their service has deteriorated to a point where it's possible to draw direct comparisons to Talk Talk. Actually communicaticating to them is no longer a remotely easy option, broadband reliability is a disaster and they have become one of the most expensive providers out there which given first hand experience of how they are currently operating just can't be justified. Something has obviously gone badly wrong and sadly they seem unable to retrieve the quality of service they once provided. Time to go !

There is no such thing as fast broadband for the ordinary consumer with limited technical know how. The broadband service providers are too free is promising guaranteed fast speeds and there is no accountability when they don't deliver. I am referring to all broadband providers not just my current supplier.

I have had Sky Broadband for over 2 years having had lot of other providers previously.
I can honestly say that I have had nothing whatsoever to complain about.
I have had one or two outages over the years that have lasted for a very short time. I was immediately compensated for this without having to ask or apply.
Speeds are excellent and reliability is second to none. I am more than happy to recommend Sky Fibre Broadband. I have just renewed my contract and Sky have kindly dropped my price by another 4 pounds. Very happy

Having been a sky tv customer for 2 years now we decided to change our broadband to the same package. The internet provided however was hopelessly slow, compared to virgin which we used before. The customer service team were extremely rude when phoning up to try & cancel my contract and I was basically bullied into not being able to cancel. I then requested they do anything they can to speed up my internet which is too slow to even load netflix at the moment. No speed up has happened what so ever and i'm at a bit of a loss what to do till i can get this awful company straight out of my home.

Well I don't know what it is about Sky but.....for the last year I have been with BT for standard broadband. When I signed up they told me I'd get 3 - 8 mbs download speeds and I consistently got between 3 and 3.25 mbs download. Two weeks ago I switched to sky on a free broadband for 1 year offer. They also advised me that I'd get 3 - 8 mbs download. Since then I have checked regularly using speedtest.net and have recorded the following download speeds:
13/5 - 7.16
14/5 - 7.37
15/5 - 7.49
16/5 - 7.74
18/5 - 7.63
19/5 - 8.09
20/5 - 7.67
23/5 - 8.5
24/5 - 8.56
Why couldn't BT give these speeds.

Been with sky for years and was a happy customer until the last few when I started having constant problems, speed is atrocious, single man with sky TV, 1 laptop, 1 smart phone and 1 smart tv so not a lot to run off the bandwidth but obviously too much for sky to handle. Same as I see from other comments that sky refuse to admit they are the problem, guess we're all lying... phoned dozens of times trying to get them to look into it and despite the always helpful customer service the result is always the same, they do nothing..except keep bumping up the price. 10 days ago I phoned and asked them to fix it or I'd be cancelling all, after admitting that I had an "older" router so they would be unable to help me fully I was told that the "specialist technical team" would be in touch within 72 hrs. Absolutely nothing in 10 days and as promised I'll be cancelling everything I have with them and posting my review on as many forums as I can. Terrible company, don't let a polite customer service fool you, they do nothing to resolve what is obviously their issues while continuing to increase prices. It's all about milking the customer dry while denying the evidence you put to them that the service provided is substandard. Avoid like the plague.

Sky is the worst service provider ever. It is impossible to contact Sky to speak to or email and contact is often required as the service is dire. Broadband speed is the lowest and watching a program in it's entirety is impossible as the signal drops constantly. If you think of joining Sky, do yourself a favour and think again.

Ive been with sky for years and not really had many issues with them till the area had a nasty thunderstorm. We lost our phone and internet. I phoned them and they on Saturday morning and they said it would be repaied on the Monday, it wasnt. I sat on my mobile for over an hour Monday evrning waiting for the next supervisor and they cut me off before I said a word. So another hour plus waiting in the que and finally I got someone. They said my repair is a complex one, I didnt beleive them. they said I could take I was all ready in the process if leaving sky so I guess because Im leaving Sky they dont care. Th up yo a week to do the repair. Tanks Sky Ive given you many years of loyal service and because Im moving to EE because they are £25 cheaper you cant be bothered to reconect my phone and broardband. Thats poor loyalty for you.

When it works it's not bad. With mine, if I'm working on the computer and another member of the house hold use the broadband, the timelag for my computer is huge. The broadband also goes off/on daily for an average of a hour, especially during a working week, so while I work from home it gets quite annoying.

Very reliable and constant speed of 12 m/bits. Only had one issue where broadband kept dropping out. Call centre answered promptly and they did all the checks and confirmed there was an issue. Engineer turned up the next day and was found to be a cabinet wiring issue.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. If you don't want to have a lots of headache please avoid this company. When Icontracted sky for the first needed to wait 2 weeks to have broad band and talk to be settled, sky told engineering doesn't need to come it was a self installation, 3 days after due date still have no Internet and talk and I found sky settled landline in a wrong flat. I contacted sky and was told me that I have to cancel and place a new order and that what I did, and needed to wait more two weeks to install, yesterday I received a text from sky telling me to stay at home because engineering is supost to come, so I stayed at home all day waiting and 6pm I received a text from sky telling me that I've to arrange another date because engineering couldn't access the property. I called sky after waiting 33min in a queue somebody told that I need to wait more 5 or 6 days to have my installation done, when I started to complain about all this mess the sky attendant just desconected my call. After a month I still no have broadband and landline. Please listen my advise and run from sky.

I would give them negative stars if I could for their broadband service is pathetically slow to the point that it may as well not be called a service and their customer service is worse than pathetic. If you are looking for an ISP in London, do NOT get SKY INTERNET, you will completely regret it, they cannot do a simple thing right - as in they won't be able to get you on broadband really because they don't care about the customers at all! Sky and anyone working at this con-job should be ashamed of themselves! Shame on you!

Avoid at all costs. Slow internet, always cuts out, not reliable. Its taken me 3 days on facebook chat and still waiting for them to resolve my situation. You are constantly being transferred over to different departments on chat. Expect next day replies, then you have to start all over again. Disgusting service, skys slogan is believe in better, thats right Ill take my money elsewhere.

They would raise the bill every year, Internet speed was only 1mps as normal. After midnight the signal would drop off completely. We never got any rewards whilst friends did. We just gave up in the end as we could not use it. Customer service was from India

After a brief "honeymoon period" after the switch to Sky on the promise of 2 Mb while paying for a 8 Mb service, the service was satisfactory. operating at 1.2 Mb. As time passed the speed precipitously declined to approximately 0.3 Mb and the connection would cut for sometimes hours at a time. After contacting customer service, the service was restored to a stable 0.8 Mb. After a few days, it had degraded as before. Another complaint again restored it, and I was given a set of tests to perform. After carrying out the tests, before and after a further decline, the results were sent to the address given. The reply was simply "well it is fine now. Happy to be of service".
Assumedly, the solution to my problems is "complain every 4 or 5 days to get half of the estimate given, then lose it again"
