Frankly fed up with this company. CUSTOMER SERVICE is not the worse that I have had- obviously I have been to petrol stations late at night- however it's not far off. When you phone up to complain about a fault, you are told that they will investigate (after a bloody age on the phone) then never hear back from them- and your internet still sucks.

BROADBAND SPEED I feel I have to give them 5* for this as the 3.4Mb/s that we occasionally peak at is close to the terrible max speed available due to the archaic technology that BT employ in rural areas (yet BT still charge you phone rental as if you are getting 21st century service... FML). The main problem with the quality of the inter net is the...

BROADBAND RELIABILTY is absolutely appalling!! As previously mentioned, you may get the max speed, but not for long. our speed drops to 0 fairly often, although this is the max speed we can expect at times apparently LOL. Ping, checked using speedtest by ookla, hovers between 55 and 925ms. Which is awesome.

Honestly recomend staying away from these people as they care little for their customers, and the quality you get is just plain bad. Television was so bad we gave up after the second day. On the bright side, the phone works... so YAY?

I wouldn't recommend anyone join TalkTalk, I have called and cancelled my contract twice and the idiots on the phone (can barely understand a word of English) promise I won't be charged and the month after I'm sent a bill. This company is an absolute joke!

As well as bad customer service my WiFi used to stop working quite often, sometimes for 24 hours, when they promise you an engineer they charge you £50 and the engineer only brought a new router to my house. Every time they promise not to charge you you receive a bill.

Landline is too expensive and will cost you a bomb.

All in all, don't give Talk Talk your money!

Only problem was when my old router conked I was promised a new one would be sent in 7 days. It did not arrive and when I queried I was told, " We can confirm your new router has NOT been ordered but we can order one for £45." I sourced my own and tip top communication since. Great broadband and phone deals - by far the cheapest and would highly recommend.

If Talktalk had a star for 0, that is what I would be giving them.

Please do not be fooled by their cheap packages, this is what I was fooled by. They are rubbish!

Their customer service is extremely poor. I am of indian origin and I find it hard to understand them, let alone a native English speaker. However, that is not the least of their problems. Faults or issues are hardly ever written down so that a member of the team can follow it. If you speak to a new member, they have no idea what is going on.

Broadband speed is the worst. There are times when google will not load, the upload and download speed is ridiculous! Don't expect to be watching movies every now and then as you will be playing around and resetting the router and praying you get a clear connection and better speed!

Broadband reliability is also rubbish. We have been on and off connection for 3 months now and nothing has been done about it. Talk talk send in one of their rubbish technicians, who then get angry with Talktalk themselves and say we need a BT technician. Then Talktalk calls back and says we will monitor it for a few days and then sort it out. It has been happening over a month now and we are changing to BT internet. It is not worth the hassle. Talktalk are by far the worst internet provider we have ever had. I would rather pay a little more to have more reliability and talk to people who know what they are talking about.

It is your choice to choose talktalk but expect problems!

I couldn't believe the mad conversation I had with customer services over installation of my phone and broadband. my mum kindly bought me the package for Xmas online and I had it all confirmed that it would be installed on the 5th jan. I needed my phone Asap and asked if that could be installed first.... No was the answer. I then noticed that my mum put number 11 instead of 111 on the account, so I called to get them to change it. They said it was all done but when I checked the account it was still at 11. I called again and they said I would have to cancel the order and re order it to change it as it was ordered online. That would mean I would lose the installation date and would have to wait later on in the month for the next free one. I told them how desperate I was for my phone so I don't want to cancel it as I can't wait longer. They were adiment this couldn't be done, then I asked if it could be treated like I was moving house, they said yes they could change it but after it was installed..... So they are going to install it to the wrong address to then uninstall it to move it up the road!!!! How does that make any sense!!! I asked the women if she thought that sounds mental and she thought it was completely acceptable. So told them to shove the whole package and I've gone with EE who could fit it all in the same week to the right address that I could change when I liked!! Lovely thank you very much. Talk talk.... You suck.

TalkTalk wifi cut out completely for 8 full days. I notified TT on the first day, and spent a large part of the week on the phone to them, mostly having to repeat myself. An appointment was arranged for an engineer to come on the 7th day of the fault, but he failed to turn up. I contacted TT and was told the engineer said he "had been outside the house". I asked repeatedly whether he was claiming to have rung the doorbell, but they simply repeated that he said he had been outside the house. After several lengthy calls I got another appointment for the 9th day of the fault. This time the engineer came and fixed the fault. I had previously asked for, and been promised a customer service call after the fault was fixed, to arrange compensation, but that call never came. I now find I have been charged for an engineer's "missed appointment" and this has taken my current account below ££0 so I will also be charged by the bank. I am old, and fairly used to scurrilous practices by companies, but even I am stunned by this communication company's appallingly poor communication, greed and complacency.

I have been with TalkTalk for the last two years and in that time I have experienced some appalling customer services from their team but nothing which comes close to the completely unprofessional disaster that I experienced today.

In total I spent approx. 56 minutes on the telephone attempting to negotiate a new contract with this company. I was passed through three different advisors, all of whom offered me the earth moon and stars to prevent me from leaving before being transferred to a further third advisor in India who abruptly went through the standard identification procedure and listened to the reason for my call, (the previous advisor never bothers to inform the next of the reasons for the transfer) before placing me on hold in such a way which allowed me to hear the conversation in the call centre.

For the next twenty minutes (until I finally felt too appalled to continue listening) I heard the advisor laugh and joke with her colleagues without ever coming back to me. When I called back after having calmed myself down I was informed that everything I had been told by all three previous advisors had been incorrect and I could effectively take the price or leave it.

Needless to say I am now with EE who are actually must cheaper. In a nutshell I will just say this. They have the worst customer service of any company I have ever encountered and before you think about signing up to them, think again. It is truly not worth the hours of being placed on hold to India only to be treated in a disgraceful and unprofessional manner. No amount of savings are worth the hassle.

The customer service was appalling. The one
Time that I had to contact them due to
Their error I found the customer service,
Unprofessional , not understanding, and did not
Grasp the reason for my call.
Very disappointing because the actual connection
Of the broad band was great. A great shame I
Would suggest that they allow you to speak to
A professional an English speaking person
If you have a complaint to resolve. Nothing
About overseas contracts but this does not
Work for talk talk. Overall satisfaction is zero
Not the above as your web page will not allow amend

Talk Talk is completely and utterly terrible, we have had on going issues with broadband and then fibre broadband and can never get it sorted.
Low speeds, Intermittent faults and STUPID customer care callers on phone. Very poor english speakers reading from a script and not listening AT ALL to what Im saying just following the script. We had two missed call appointments where they just did not turn up or knock. I have been told several different things contradicting different customer care callers, for example: If its a fault in the house you will be charged £70 and if its on the line its free, and then if its on the line its charged at £60 per call out and free if its in the house. They cant get their act together at all, I threatened leave because Ive had enough. They bumped me up to fibre and gave us their TV service free as a way to keep me, but we have had more issues since. The TV box must be plugged in with these boxes to get internet to them. Well its like a washing machine coming from behind tv, the noise is too much. It fails ALL the time and then a warning comes up on top of tv every few mins saying we need connect to the net which is annoying. I had 0.5mb of speed and was told that is fine because its working was told it must be my fault for me connecting it up wrong. I could go on and on. I will be leaving this company asap and will never go with them again. TERRIBLE service

i was with Sky before but now with talktalk for 12 months because Sky is too expensive. However the second talktalk broadband got installed i kept losing connection and for people that like to play Fifa is a huge problem because when you disconnect you get a loss. also the internet speed is very slow. im paying for 8mb but getting 1mb so im very annoyed. also costumer service is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Avoid talktalk even when the price is very cheap.

Please please don't not use talk talk, they are awful! I wish I had checked all of the bad reviews first. I called the customer service after I was having problems with my broadband, firstly It was difficult to understand the lady then once they had done all the checks they told me to look at all my plug sockets and THEN get a screw driver and take the phone socket off otherwise pay £65 for an enginer, even though by going by there reviews pay for an enginer for something that is their fault! I was on the phone for over an hour, the service is terrible!'

After the awful service I asked to cancel but they are a con and told me I would have to pay £325!

Talk Talk is a con and get away with provided absoulutely awfuk service and terrible customer care!

I wish I never decided to go with Talk Talk. I chose their simply broadband package as I am on a low budget, however I feel it would have been worth going with someone else.
I have had countless problems with the broadband, it NEVER reaches the speeds I was promised (a minimum of 13mbps, on a good day I get 6), yet I have given up trying to complain. Their customer service is appalling, I find it difficult to understand what they are saying, and they are certainly not helpful. Last time I attempted to complain, they left me on hold for about 15 minutes, claiming they were doing speed tests. Instead, they came back saying they had discovered I was eligible for fibre optic broadband. After me telling them I was NOT after an upgrade, they finally transferred me to someone else. I was then told they would send an engineer, and when I enquired about the costs, they said I might be billed £50, but I wouldn't know until I got my next bill. Because of this I cancelled the engineer altogether. It has been awful ever since. I wish I could afford the charges to exit the contract early.
DO NOT by any means go with Talk Talk, no matter how cheap their deals may be. It may be OK for the first couple months, but from there everything goes downhill.

I have just got off the phone to a Talk Talk engineer regarding my router which keeps freezing and shutting down 3 or 4 times a day. After 30 minutes of struggling to understand this engineer going through all the checks i.e. phone line and phone exchange he then advised me to get a screwdriver and then proceed to unscrew the BT phone socket, I understand that this is a BT socket but I pay my bills to Talk Talk. I then asked him if I unscrewed it and something went wrong who is liable? and guess what? ME!and it would cost me £65. I am no engineer so I refused, he then proceeded to tell me that he could not help me. I have been with Talk Talk for 5 years and I will be cancelling my contract and advise anyone not to go with Talk Talk. I am sure they have their own engineers that they could have sent one out, free of charge. This is the worst customer service that I have ever experienced in my life.

I am so frustrated, six weeks, four BT engineers, two TalkTalk engineers and endless phonecalls made by me to try to resolve a broadband speed so slow that in the evenings its under 0.5M. Talk Talk's customers service is appalling. No one from TT rings me back when they promise and unless I am on the phone to them constantly, then nothing is being done to resolve my problem. Every time I ring TT I have to go all through the details of what the problem is and what has happened so far - you NEVER get the same operator twice and they do not seem to have the information at their fingertips. They NEVER keep promises to call you back, or keep any other promises that they make. I heard "don't worry TT will sort this out for you" so many times I could scream! Its just lip service. USE ANOTHER PROVIDER.

Worst broandband supplier ever. Please be warned. Do not choose talktalk for anything. They have the worst broadband speed and if you ever have problem with anything all you get is robotic answers , you never get any help , copy paste answers. You either get hanged up on or lose of connection on livechat. Please be warned , talktalk is the same old rubbish. Do not fall into their trap. All they do is waste your time. They wasted enough of my time and do not let them do the same to you.

Anyone thinking of going with TalkTalk....Dont!!
Although the service is affordable their customer service is horrendous! The last 3 months I have been cut off due to no payment being made even though I have a direct debit set up with them which has been confirmed by my bank also. When calling them they have always accused me of cancelling my direct debit when in actual fact they are the ones at fault. The customer service team are extremely rude and do not take responsibility for their own faults! They even went far enough to charge me £12 each time for non payment. I have been with them for nearly 2 years now and have never cancelled my direct debit with them!!You're supposed to be helped by customer service team not accused of stuff. I had one team member argue with me so much I demanded to speak to manager who was just as bad!
If you need to contact them by phone, only do it if you really need too. As soon as my contacts up in September im gone!!

One star is too much. I have just spent 1.5 hour on the phone with them. they passed me around like dirty shoe. The problem i have is that my wifi signal works only when i am sitting next to modem no further then one meter. I only asked for new modem so I can get signal around the house. They said i must extend my contract for 18 month otherwise i will not get one. I said i am not assigning with them for so log after such experience. they are not willing to help so basically i am paying for internet which does not work. PLEASE DONT DO THE SAME MISTAKE AND DO NOT USE TALK TALK if you dont have to. Also when you call them, the connection is very bad so you do understand every second word.

I am completely disgusted with this company where I have been a loyal customer for 4 years. When a friend of mine told me she had been offered the youview box for nothing extra per month I thought I would call up and see if I could get it too. I was told that I would have to pay an extra £10 a month as I was in a different area which I agreed too. I was also told I needed a new router. A week or so later the engineer came to install the new router which I found was no different to the old one. I then chased up the TV box numerous times and was told there was an issue but no more explanation or apology. Due to my busy work schedule I then gave up but was then disgusted when I received the bill to see I was being charged circa £43 this included the router I never asked for and the TV box I never received. I then emailed a complaint and advised that I would not be paying extra, would cancel my D/D but asked if they could please call me to sort it out and I would be happy to pay my usual £23 at that time. I was then shocked and disappointed to receive an email from Talktalk telling me if I wasn't happy then I should go to another provider and that was it! My services were then cut off, this was 2months ago. Since this time I have sent 2 further complaint emails which have been ignored. I then used the chat facility on the website as I find it hard to find the time to call and when you do the representitives are unhelpful anyway! I was cut off 5 times during the chat session and every time has to explain the whole thing again, not once receiving an apology or resolution. The last person I spoke to who was argumentitive and unprofessional advised me that my bill was now £70!! When I said to him I had been cut off so how can my bill go up he said they hadn't cancelled at their end!! He said he would cancel my contract but could not help with payment or complaints but would log one for me. Again no one contacted me to discuss the matter. I then went on to uswitch and seen that sky had a good deal and most importantly had better reviews than most providers especially rallyalk who were at the bottom. Today I received a letter telling me that I owe £236.07 for cancelling my new contact even though I never asked for a new contract , never received any new services , have been cut off for 2 months, offered to pay what I owe but this wasn't accepted and was told to go to another provider. I then called up to complain to a manager and was told that It was my fault, I was a lier as I hadn't been charged for the TV box, I was then threatened that if I didn't stay with them then I would be charged and I was told I hadn't given them the opportunity to sort it out which was the most laughable statement as they had every opportunity. They also said they had tried to contact me and when I asked by what means they said home phone they had left messages.I can't listen to them in cut off! I had to end up hanging up as I was getting so upset and I'm pregnant and this agree is no good. Bottom line these people are thieves and app unprofessional . I plan to tell anyone who will listen about this and hopefully stop people from making a huge mistake.

    TERRIBLE/// STAY AWAY.
I paid 35# a month to receive very very low speed, nowhere near 76 Mbps promised. Customer service does not exist, and they do not even record the problems. I escalated the matter to CEO, and they lied and lied, never got back to me. Their phone number does not work. Never solved the connection problem.

The most incompetent company I have ever had the displeasure of using. Let down after let down, from the service installation to the customer services, to the billing. BEWARE!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Please people if you are even considering joining them DONT, do your research first, go to Twitter and lookup the hashtag #TalkTalk go to their forums and see the thousands of unhappy customers. Read the reviews on this very site.

I cannot believe what rubbish people are writing here.
Before joining TalkTalk I got some very good feebdback by a work colleague and now I am with them from more than 2 years. Broadband is excellent, signal is always there and rarely drop. I opted for non fibre broadband but to me it looks it is actually a fibre broadband as it is quick, reliable and I have nothing to complain about. Customer service is OK and I think people get bad experience and frustration because they are not native British and there might be some language barrier but it is not a problem for me at the end the company manage to keep the cost down because they hire people ona junior or entry level with a minimum wage or so.
I would advise everyone to joy TalkTalk

The worst ever broadband and customer service i had. Where do i start, slow broadband, fake engineering charges £50 on the my bill, bad customer service, every call for customer service at least 2 hours waiting on phone, the engineer ever came for booked appointment time etc. My broadband didnt work but i had to pay the bill. Three time they tried to over charge me instead of £30, They sent me bill of £74. Robbing.
It is night mare Pls don't make mistake that i made. It is waste experience i never ever had before.

I had problems from the start. Over the phone I was asked where I wanted the router- I had said the living room where the tv box was for on demand . When the man came he put the router in the bedroom- he said this was because the phone line was here and that I would have to speak to talk- talk about this- talk talk said they would send out an engineer to put wires in as an extension. When the engineer came he said this wouldn't work and not to bother- I then got billed from talk talk for fifty pounds for the engineer call out- after a lot of complaining I got some adapters fitted for free- But I had to fight for this. When I wasn't happy with the services I attempted to terminate my contract I was told I wouldn't be charged and then was charged 120 pounds. I haven't paid it and I don't intend to pay it- WARNING DO NOT GO WITH TALK TALK- it will be your biggest mistake!

    NO .... NO .... NO .... NO ....
Don't sign up with them, even if they deliver their promised speed AND half price this and that plus a £50 voucher they are still not as cheap as Plusnet, trust me, do your own maths, i know it's like walking through treacle with their flashy advertising but the calculator won't lie !
Apart from that their ability to sort out any problems you have is a nightmare, the staff at the Indian call centre are incapable of looking at your previous call history and working out that you STILL have a problem, regardless of the stupid text they send you telling you the problem is now fixed .... NO ! it isn't !!! 10 months of SUPERFAST FIBRE giving me 10.6mbps instead of circa 38mbps, thank God my contract finishes in two weeks, no more Talk Talk no more, I've wasted hours and hours of my life on the phone to India, never again !!

Avoid this company like the plague! Customer service is appalling and they will empty your bank account as soon as look at you. Conversations are slow, irritating and will only end up costing you. Don't ask for a new service ... you'll be charged £50 for each one and not informed of this. If you need and engineer to call to put things right, you'll be charged £75. My phone has not worked since their engineer spent 3.5 hours in my home installing the line, yet I would still need to pay £75 for him to come back and put right what he did wrong in the first place!!! How I wish I could turn back the clock and go elsewhere. Just don't even consider TalkTalk, they're appalling ... spread the word to as many people as possible and put this company out of business.

Joined 21st Nov 2014, still unable to make phone calls. They will charge you for every request even when their service has created the problem in the first place. Customer service is disgusting, unless you enjoy them emptying your bank account. Avoid like the plague!

We started off with the TT basic broadband facility until we found that the speed of about 4mbps did not match the estimated speed by TT of 8mbps. This coupled with the BB dropping out several times a day caused us to complain. The telephone respondant recommended we upgrade to the fibre optic version and we could expect a minimum of 30 to 35mbps. This was appealing although the price went up accordingly aS did the contract period, which might have been worth it if the promise was achieved. 8mbps was received and after numerous and lengthy phone calls the technical department managed to get us some 13mbps.
They then told us that this was the best that they could do and the problem was fixed. I complained again that the promised 30 t0 35mbps turned out to be 13mbps, and in my opinion the salesman who talked us into it was at a minimum misleading and at worse a "con merchant" who would go to any length to produce a sale.
Talk Talk are suggesting that 13 mbps is workable andf that is the end of the matter. This in my opinion is disgraceful and no way a reputable company behave. All I can now do is to try and warn as dmany people as possible not to be taken in (as I was ) by the lies of Salesman.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. We have just spent two years trying to solve our internet connection problem. When we had connection it dropped after 10 minutes. Numerous calls to Talk Talk, each one recommending an engineers visit. Engineer found no problem but Talk Talk still insisted we needed engineer visit again or professional computer engineer to help with our set up. Very helpful & polite customer service staff but unfortunately they follow a script and you are unable to get any individual advice. Our professional engineer could find no problem and suggested we change our provider. Success at last. Been with new provider for a few weeks now and had constant Broadband since. TALK TALK CHARGED FOR A SERVICE THEY DIDN'T PROVIDE.

I have been with Talktalk for the past three years. We were very happy together until I decided to upgrade my package. I emailed them asking them to email me details of a fibre upgrade, I specified email contact as I have Menieres disease and was ill in bed and deaf at the time. My phone began ringing at all hours of the day and night with calls from their customer service team, i wrote back and told them it was pointless them calling me as i was deaf to certain frequencies and this seemed to spur their calls even more. Nothing i did or said stopped them, eventually I had to disconnect the phone from the socket and email the head office. I still had no information on the upgrade but bored with watching my netflix services flicker in and out of signal on the paltry connection I upgraded via the website. I added fibre and the tv box to the package (which i should have got anyway!) and also some of the tv boosts. I also ordered extenders which did not turn up and were not even available to buy at the time they took the order - instead they wanted me to buy ones that cost twenty-five pounds more! I was all set to 'go live' a week before Christmas. The box arrived and all was good except they had not applied the boosts. Every time i went onto the website it was down or just scrolling through seemed to add tv boosts to my package without even a notice of contract - they'd just appear in my email after visiting the site. None of these were activated just applied to the account. After a hundred emails to them asking them to sort this out and being ignored I began calling them - they decided to update the website just around Christmas and for the three weeks I was hardly able to even access my account and nor were they. They demanded i call them back at other times of the day to resolve it, but the website and accounts was always down when i called them. I had to call them several times a day, every day for a week before it was actually sorted and in order, and was the actual package i was contracted to. If you have ever called a BB company you realise how much of your day this takes up when you are left hanging on hold listening to the exact same piece of hideous music set on a 80 second loop - up to 40 minutes a time - easily. I had even wrote to them threatening to disconnect my services as they hadn't kept their side. After sorting this all out and everything was calm i found an email in my inbox the very next morning informing me that they had agreed to terminate the contract between us and could they have the tv box back - even though i was still paying for this box and it should have come with the contract i was still on with them. I was absolutely furious as clearly none of them read the previous notes, it was Christmas Eve. I couldn't be bothered to deal with these idiots anymore and changed provider.

The service is very stable as long as you stick to the package you have. I like the fact there is no throttling and it really is unlimited - i watched netflix all the time and have no problem, aside from the speed but that is due to the area i live in.

The customer services department will bare face lie to you and none of them will know what the heck they are doing, least of all what you are talking about!

Both the email and web chat option of customer service is a waste of time and takes days - they refuse to deal with account issues unless it is via the telephone - so expect that 40 minute wait to speak to someone that doesn't understand you or what their job actually is. The staff are however polite in their manner. The sales team will harass you day and night - mobile and house phone, if you show the slightest bit of interest in an upgrade.

The actual internet speed and quality is very good overall. However the customer service is appalling and I have been overcharged nearly 15 times now for random reasons that they try to put on your bill without noticing. By now I check my bill thoroughly every month as I am used to it and every time this happens I have to waste my time and money calling up and arguing with them to get the charges taken off that should never have been there. I'm so bored of this I'm considering paying the cancellation fee just so I don't have to deal with them anymore. I would recommend paying more to another company because it really isn't worth the stress in the long run and talk talk will probably charge you more anyway overall due to the continuous 'Mistakes'. Also note they have never accidentally under charged or apologised.

I must be one of the lucky ones.

Been with talktalk for 5 years or more. Decided to go all the way with Plus Tv and Fibre medium.

Ordered Plus TV first and worked brilliant with only being on 4mps.

Decided to upgrade to fibre medium and 2 weeks ago placed order. New Super router arrived 4 days after and set up on standard broadband till fibre went live.

On 29th December has email to say fibre was live and yess....its brilliant!!

No down time connected straight away and I am now regulary getting 37 to 38 mps on nmedium fibre and everything working brilliant. I am about 2 miles from BTfibre street box so that may help but yes a brilliant service from talktalk and I feel very sorry for you folk who have had a bad experience.

Can I recommend? From my experience I can say yes but others will say otherwise. I think if you check with all providers they all have issues even BT who provide a lot of the cabling etc.

I think a lot depends on where you are located and how good the existing line is. We are in a rural area and have been chasing fibre for some time so we must have the latest stuff as its only this year its gone live in our area.

Lets hope I can report in a few months that the service is still great!!!!
