Wifi slows down ridiculously from one day to the next. Spent an hour with customer service trying to get an answer as to why, absolute waste of time... We changed from virgin earlier this year, big mistake!

Worst company I have ever dealt with. Intermittent service and slower than minimum promised speeds on a regular basis.
I now speak to their useless customer services team on a regular basis (daily....sometimes up to 3 hours) to only get the same issue over and over.
Pretends to care about the customer but when questioned with logic always seem to try and find an excuse to end the call/chat by promising a manager will call. Surprise surprise no call ever comes through so as a customer you are back at square one calling their useless team again. Its an endless loop with no route to solution.
I am now waiting until I can cancel their contract which will take me another 30 days. honestly the worst service I have ever had and I have flown Malaysian airlines.

Two years ago I had the misfortune to take TalkTalk. The installation process took over six months including clueless engineers turning up to ask what I wanted then not do the required install. Only a letter to the chairman produced some result.
After the recent data breach the account can only be managed from the line itself. Not much good if you are not often there. No alternatives offered only long calls to 0870 to ask for it to be sent. I decided to transfer to another provider. I was hit with a charge. Attempts to discuss this were met my disinterested operators and lines dropped when asked to escalate/speak to manager. Now when you ring up you are told the service is so popular there will be an even longer wait than normal. The online chat is slight more responsive but only provides quotes from the service not answers. Just awful, get me away from them please.

I have been with talktalk for well over a year and a half now, after reading all the terrible reviews on this I can't believe it,I'm on fibre medium and the call plan which allows you to call mobiles and land lines free for an hour but hang up before the hour and go again.my Internet has drop out about twice very late at night a can stream bbc iplayer etc... no problem and use my laptop and phone at the same time no problem, I was paying 33 pound for this but signed the new deal and now pay 30 which is a fixed price for 18 months no pay rises....a have a free sim card with 200 mins on it free but gave it to my mother who never gets near the limit every month but you can easily check via the app.yes the customer service is tricky with the over seas .communication but it's a free call anyway.I was with bt for 20 years but they kept rasin thier prices while given the deals to new customers which riled me as a was with them for so long.it can't just be me but talktalk are actually no bad at all,as a say this is my personal experience.

Been with then 3 days, spent over 2 1/2 hours on phone, several reasons, first very poor speed 1.3 mbps, second as could not access online account, spent 1 1/2 hours and still could not improve connection, said they will call me in 72 hours to see if improved, rest of time to fix online account which they could not do, and when ask to put me through to cancellation could not do that either.
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS

Terrible company.
They may be cheap but that is because they give you cheap service. Firstly they supply routers that don't work properly we kept getting dropouts and super slow speeds.
Talk talk engineer came out replaced the router....same problems still.
BT engineer came out...couldn't find any problems. With the line.
Signed up to Fibre with talk talk...as we were told that that would solve the slow speed and dropouts.
Fibre was jus as bad, paid for 38mbs download and we got 6mbps maybe 10 and still drop outs....called talk talk....and engineer can come out it we would be charged £65 for the visit.
Called BT 5 minutes later....Fibre broadband for £3 per month more...signed up.
Been with BT 4 weeks with a constant speed of 54mbps download speed and no drop outs.........very interesting.....
AVOID THESE CHEAP COMPANIES GO WITH BT!!!

When I first upgraded to Fibre due the the really poor basic speed I was told I could receive 38 Mps and that was confirmed by the Open Reach Engineer when he upgraded me however within a few weeks it became clear that I was getting less than 16 Mps a long and difficult journey thanks to the worse Customer Service Centre ever an Open Reach Engineer came out and boosted my speed back up to the mid 30s after a few weeks it went down to about 24 Mps but seem to settle at that. Then recently it started to slow down again its now 16 Mgs.The bad news is that in that time Talk Talk Customer Services has actully got worse if thats possible.A simple question "Why should I be paying the same price as the lucky people who are getting 38 Mgs" Its a total con.Talk Talk might claim to be cheaper but Customer Service is awful and trust me with there service you will be calling them.

Had been with TalkTalk for phone & Tiscali for B/B for several years with no problems. Then in June, switched to a total package with Tiscali, phone & B/B for £28/month.
First invoice was for £45.80 & when I queried the amount they cut off my broadband , cancelled my account. Would'nt or could'nt restore my B/B service.Spent around 8 hrs on the phone to their centres trying to get service back..useless.
Wrote to their top management complaining. NO reply at all. Dont touch TalkTalk with a barge pole. Would never recommend them even to my worst enemy.

THE most disgraceful company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. TT operators are a shower of bare faced liars! DO NOT trust or believe a word they say to you. The recent well publicised hack is only the tip of the iceberg! I've been a customer for over three years and I am now counting down the days until I can leave at the end of my contract, although I don't hold out much hope of that going smoothly. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Customer service bad. I try move my broadband to new address I filled form online that I move in on 25 march and I want activ my internet on 29 march looks really simply but not for you. On 30 march I received email that I cancelled my broadband. After 45min with your ussules customer service 4 departments your really smart manager told me that you try sort everything 2 weeks before I move in at new house and of course old tenants they don't need new broadband because they leaving simple. Still to difficult for your team solution I can order again but I must wait another 2 weeks brilliant. I was always happy with your broadband but after today I cancelled my contract and I sort everything from different supplier is take 5min online and they send my starter pack in next 2days simple. Customer service disquasting and ussules.

According to my router-modem, the physical line is still rock-solid, with very good BER numbers and an OK speed for the line length. It hasn't changed.
The alarming decline in the service speed and quality, over the last few months, is thus nothing to do with BT Openreach. It's all to do with TalkTalk. I infer from the pattern of low speeds at peak times (evenings and weekends) that their part of the network just does not have the capacity needed for the modern world of fast connections and streaming video. With IPv6 a necessity for the future, their lack of apparent planning for this is another negative sign.
Locally, the funding for superfast broadband is in place. It feels like a bit of a gamble to switch now, not yet knowing what deals will be available. But Talktalk doesn't look like an option.

If you don't need to contact Taltalk, everything is OK!
My Mother-in-Law was moved to a care home. She wrote to cancel the contract & cancelled the direct debit. Nothing happened. She emailed them. I emailed them - twice. They - after 2 months - disconnected the phone.
4 months later she is still getting bills - including advance line rental!
If you phone them - the call centre is in India and their accent makes them almost um-intelligable.
They just read from a check list and are stumped if you ask them something that is not on their answer sheet.
When this is (eventually) sorted, I abandon my own Talktalk contract. Trouble is, no one else gets a much better rating!

It's the same story every time I need to talk to them. Talk talk are absolutely useless. Their connection is patchy, their customer service is shockingly bad. They're not even cheeper than the more reputable providers these days!

Overall, Talktalk can get pretty slow most of the time. I planned to switch to sky but I don't have the money :(. Whenever I called Talktalk to complain, they never pick up, and my laptop would always take at least 1 minute to do anything, whether it's dowloading, searching or playing videos. Saddened...

Moved from BT to Talk Talk three years ago. At first the broadband and wi-fi speed were an improvement on BT's provision, I am guessing it was down to the router being better than the old BT offering. There were certainly less dropped connections and the wi-fi in a fairly big house was better than BT's. In fact I was full of praise for the improved speeds and reliability.
The last few months have seen a deterioration in speed and wi-fi reach, again I can only put it down to the router since I have exactly the same configuration as three years ago when I joined Talk Talk.
Several technical calls, reboots, diagnostic checks etc etc. I asked if another router could be sent out since they have upgraded since I first joined, this however was refused.
I have now decided to switch provider in the hope that their 'new' router will give me the wi-fi coverage and speed that I was getting three years ago.

Speeds as low as 1.24mb/s on 'fast broadband'. Charged more than latest promotion rate for this service. Offered no discount on complaining unless I signed up to another contract. Tried to use their poor broadband speed to basically get me to upgrade to fibre. As if getting a poor service would make me want to pay for a more expensive one? Spent over an hour patiently explaining online but to no avail. If fibre is better I will do it via another ISP.

AVOID TALK TALK is my advice. This company is not trustworthy, they lie to customers. After one year’s unstable internet connection, I cancelled the service with them when I moved to my new house. They called me afterwards to try to keep me with them with the offer of fibre internet in the new house with a lower price. So I accepted the offer. I called them after I moved since I haven’t got back from them with new package detail. The shocking thing was that the customer service checked the note with my account that it shows talk talk called me to say that there was no fibre internet in my new place and I agreed to use the basic internet service. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I’ve never received this phone call and I’ve never agreed to switch to basic internet. Such a lier!!!! I only accepted the offer because they promised me with fibre internet. Another shocking thing is that the customer service checked that my new address that there’s no fibre internet available!!!! So this company can lie whatever they want to trick the customers!!! Ridiculous company.

I was cheap when choosing my broadband supplier and choose talk talk as they were the cheapest option. The internet never worked for the first month z eventually they charged me to send an engineer round to the house to fix my line and the speed was always very slow and I had large amounts of time the internet did not work due to system errors on their part.
As I work in the computer I lost lots of money in lost work opportunities and then switched to sky a more reliable option. I would highly recommend sky to anyone reading this. (They also have done great deals)

I seriously do not understand why people use this company. It seems like cost is a huge incentive and i find this hilarious. Let me explain why; I have two addresses, one has TalkTalk and the other Virgin Broadband. I pay 30 pounds a month for my talk talk service. Its a 30Mbit connection. You struggle to do anything using this speed in this day and age. Its the equivalent of having a dial-up from the 90s. Now to my Virgin connection. I pay roughly the same price 35 pounds a month for a 150Mbit connection and superb customer service that I can call up ANY time of the day. I was literally speaking to one of their agents at 1:30am in the morning the other day to arrange a service transfer. My speed was increased to 200Mbit 8 months into my contract and now I'm at 12months and they are offering me a 300Mbit connection for 30 pounds a months....lol I'm literally going to be paying the same price for a service that is quiet literally ten times better. Moral of the story: You are not saving any money going for TalkTalk. Do your research. I'm going to be canceling my service with them and transferring to Virgin in my 2nd property.

Very poor speeds
Its impossible to raise a complaint. They take atleast 45mins to 1 hour over a phone to diagnose and then blame it on your device

They don't even deserve a star. They have only messed me about from the start. I called up more then once for the same problem and to cancel an account that they say I have 2 accounts open. So I said I don't even need 1 let alone 2 so I say cancel both and they only cancel one and carry on charging me for the other after I've sent back all the stuff and moved house. They still demand money from me and don't care about the customers. They are now trying to stick me with another cancellation fee as well as the last 3 months of bills for a service I can't use or even have access too.
All in all they are a joke and just out for your money no matter how they get it.

Seemed like they were offering a good deal. Paid for my line rental up front. For some reason (I'll probably never find out in this lifetime), they could not port my existing number across so they cancelled the TV engineer's visit. All I got was a text saying the visit had been cancelled, no explanation. Then I had to do the thing that I dreaded most, call their customer services several times, probably about 20. Their customer service advisors are amazingly rude. As far as I'm concerned they have reached rock bottom & have started to dig. They must set themselves VERY low standards & consistently fail to achieve them. The upshot of this round of them TALK TALKing at me was that I would have to cancel the contract & set up a new one. They sent out a welcome pack that had the wrong price breakdown so guess what? I had to phone customer services again. Spoke to 2 people who hung up on me. Spoke to a third person (in India, I'm guessing) & then got put through to her supervisor in the Phillipines. Someone in India asking you to hold for 2 minutes equates to 20 UK minutes. The last phone call was over an hour & I've now been promised a refund for the line rental that I paid in advance. To tell you the truth, the whole experience has stressed me out beyond imagination, they literally have reduced me to tears. All I wanted to do was buy something off them, I was a potential customer & they have treated me insanely badly. Who knows what they treat their customers like, once you are lcked into a contract. STAY AWAY & go with a reputable provider who has UK based call centres.
