Customer service is just unbelievable, rude and unreliable... 6 months with no internet just false customer... If they don't like what you're saying they just hang up... Seriously, they might be cheap, but it's not worth the hassle...

Do NOT get talk talk, 1month without Internet and still there paying for it. This issue seems to last forever. Call Center kind bit absolutely not useful. Save a lot of frustration, go for another network.

A scam!!!!!! please avoid wasting your time and money. internet never worked, when concacted, they kept telling me that they would let me know. at the end, after 1 hour trying to solve by phone, internet worked for exactly 60 seconds, just the time to close the conversation at the end of their phone service working hours. then it stopped again. Wrote back to close it without any doutb, and they asked for 150 pounds penalty. stay away!!!!!!!

I have been a customer of TalkTalk for over 16 years. Upgraded to Super Fibre a year ago and I have had the worst broadband service EVER!
Terrible speed, constantly dropping out and cutting off altogether. Members of the community pages think it is the router that is the problem, yet TalkTalk will not address the matter.
I shall be leaving as soon as my contract is up!

Absolute rubbish, I really regret I went with this broadband !! When I started no one mentioned they would charge me £200 for cancellation. I've been with them for a year now and they still want to charge me for the cancellation. Cheeky company, I'm leaving now any way, had enough.

Whatever you do don't get tv broadband or telephone from Talktalk. Due to a faulty Talktalk box which was only 3 months old I was without television services for 3 months including over the Christmas and New Year period and was offered £5 compensation. I was charged for 2 movies that I could not watch and customer services implied that I had watched them and were trying to get them for nothing and could not watch Picturebox and was to add it again and would probably not be charged for it. Terrible service and even worse customer service. Unfortunately I am tied into a contract that they told me they would charge me for if I left, even though they have not provided the service in the first place!!!

Previously a sky customer I wasn't happy with my sky package so left and came to talk talk couldn't believe the difference with how your treat customer service far superior always happy to help and offer a package to suit my needs I'm getting 79mbs speeds with a fibre boost which is excellent value doubled my speeds for a fiver a month. Sky have called me everyday since leaving trying to get me back but I'm very happy with my service now and fully recommend thumbs up to the customer service staff doing an excellent job unlike sky that only care about selling and not looking after there customers.

They do not even deserve 1 star! I wish I had read these reviews before signing up! Terrible broadband, Tv box doesn't work. When I tried to complain man on the phone accused me of being a racist, and refused to put me through to a manager. We are now being charged in excess of 200 pounds to cancel! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!

Since this morning my internet was dropping. After 3 hours of this i called the help desk. The individual was useless - kept reading a script, didnt not listen to my responses, panicked if i replied with something that was not on his sheet/flow; kept putting me on hold and telling me his system was 10% complete, 15% complete - asked him to please stop updating me and just tell me when it was done - he didn't listen. It was one of the worst calls i have ever endured. after 15mins (it felt like an hour), i respectfully said i had to go - having no internet was better than being on the call. Fortunately my internet started working again. PHEW.

If customers use the community forums, problems are sorted out far more quickly. There are a few TT professionals on there, who do their very best, plus you get useful peer support and advice. For that reason I am giving them 4 stars.
Not so good Broadband speed. Just about OK at c 10mbps, but years ago they managed much better than this on "Simply Broadband". The current "Fast" version has probably been downgraded to help push customers into taking out the Fibre options. More noticeable connection loss in recent months too, despite a new router.
A tendency to change terms of service unilaterally, without warning, and watch out for the boost elements of the contract NOT being fixed, despite superficial headline descriptions. Only the Broadband and line rental get fixed.
Boosts carry a 1 month minimum commitment or you will have to pay extra for breaking the minimum term.

In one week my broadband stopped to work twice, first one was solved after 48 hours and hours on the phone. Second issue, 4 days later, no broadband at all, it was on Tuesday morning, today is Friday and they say is not fix until Monday, 6 days after, when it's supposed have to be fix it between 24 72 hours. About the costumers service, AWFUL, even they cut the phone call three times. Complain service even worse. Totally unuseful company.

This is the worst company I have every dealt with. As others have said on this forum, the customer service is absolutely appalling. I've only been with them for two months, but they got my first bill wrong, having promised that they would not charge for connection, it turned up on my bill. I had an email showing that I had agreed this deal, but I still had to spend half an hour on the phone to their overseas customer services department, who seemed to have no knowledge (or access to) the email they had sent me. I was then having trouble getting a signal through the Youview box, even though my aerial gave me a perfect signal through the TV. I explained this over the phone, they told me that they could see no reason why this should be and that there was probably something wrong with the box. I then had to wait two weeks for an engineers visit, who told me that the problem was caused by the signal being split going into the box, and that this was a common problem, and that I would need to get a signal booster because Talk Talk don't provide them. This possibility was never mentioned to me by Talk Talk. I consequently wrote a letter of complaint to the customer services manager, and got a totally inappropriate reply back from someone in the overseas office who did not have a good command of English, and did not address any of the issues I had raised in the letter, but gave me a step by step guide on how to re-tune my Youview box. A few days later I received my bill only to find they had tried to charge me £50 for the engineers visit. I immediately cancelled my direct debit, re-sent the letter of complaint with a further covering letter and a cheque to cover my month's services minus the engineers charge. A few days later Someone from their overseas office called me, and I said I wanted to speak to a manager. They said they would make a note of this on the file, but I never heard back from anyone, only a recorded message threatening to suspend my services. Now they have suspended my phone service which I have paid for! I've never defaulted on a payment in my life and have usually found that it is possible to resolve disputes with companies, who generally want to keep their customers reasonably satisfied - not Talk Talk. I was with Virgin for 20 years with no issues - I only left because I objected to the price increase, but I'm really regretting this move now. I have advised my friends and family not to deal with them, and would advise the same to anyone else. It's so not worth it!

DO NOT give talk talk you number if you make an enquiry or you will be harrased. 12 calls from 1 number in 24 hours, when I blocked this number they used another number. Also thier phone system crackles so badly you cannot. hear what they are saying. Even their online healper will try to persuade you to sign up there and then if you wish to clarify anything. Worst pressure sales I have ever encountered.

OFF AS MUCH AS ITS ON. CONSTANT ONGOIGN PROBLEMS STILL 18 MONTHS DOWN THE LINE AND ITS ALWAYS THE SAME PROBLEM - THE EXCHANGE. BUT TALK TALK CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND WE ARE TALK TALK'S CUSTOMER (NOT BT'S) PAYING THEM FOR THE SERVICE WE ARE NOT GETTING
Talk talk are an absolute joke and their customer service and any contact is ALL via DELHI INDIA. Regardless of what speed they say you're going to get, all you'll have is constant ongoing problems they cannot be bothered to contact BT engineers to fix.
Its now OVER 12 months and they STILL can't resolve all the problems they have caused us. Continue to blame wiring etc at the home (which is just an excuse because BT Engineers have wired it all up) and all confirmed themselves the problem is at the BT Exchange in padiham and NOTHING to do with the home. Yet talk talk just like to keep fobbing people off because they can't even understand half the english you are communicating to them via DELHI
NOT to mention changing our telephone number over to SKY for 4 days without even knowing about any of it (I discovered this)
THEN numerous times including recently NO TELEPHONE OR INTERNET FOR 5 DAYS (SAME BACK IN FEBRUARY) - THERE IS JUST NO EXCUSE FOR THIS
The best way anyone can know what kind of service they are going to get (should anything go wrong) is find a direct contact EMAIL for them and see what happens. I tried this before joining SKY recently and well all I can say about them is its the same if you have ANY problems (they don't want to know and even managed to cock everything up once we'd paid and signed up with them) EVEN before the live date with them they managed to cancel it when it was paid for for 12 months
So if any internet provider PASS the direct communication contact beforehand, its always a good sign BEFORE signing up. Its been fail proof so far
needless to say we WILL be changing over again
don't forget to go via topcashback for a good saving with any internet provider !!!
the connection has just gone off AGAIN before posting this message. I have constantly sent hundreds of emails and speed test over the last 18 months and they don't care and never solve the problem which is STILL on going
If you are looking to pay for a service you are NOT going to get half the time then perhaps talk talk is for you !!

talk talk are a COMPLETE waste of time and money. Never resolved anything properly in 18 months. At present a telephone line you can hardly hear on when talking and internet speed of less than 1.0 (IN THIS DAY AND AGE) - the the price is the same when they KNOW they cannot provide the speeds you are paying for 5 miles from the exchange
managed to swap our telephone line to cable phone number for 4 days. numerous times the telephone and internet has been off for days. I'd stick with reputable a company who can actually provide what you are paying for because talk talk can't !!!
should you EVER need technical or customer service you WILL be sorry you ever changed to talk talk

Very slow broadband, phoned up a number of times to complain to people with very strong Indian accents which they could not understand me and I could not understand them. Even thou my contract had ran out was told I could not switch to fibre for another 3 month was told I had to pay 60 for them to come out because it must be the wiring in my wall. So decided to leave. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

My connection with TalkTalk is fine, but the customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. They changed my phone number without telling me and it took them 2 months to change it back. They denied me the 'new customer' offer of a £100 high street voucher even though I was a new customer. Now they've decided that I owe them £75 which is impossible as I have free broadband and free calls and pay by direct debit. But because of an admin error on their end (which they've admitted to), they're threatening to cut off my services and ruin my credit rating. Staff struggle to understand you as they are based internationally. Would not recommend to anyone.

I wish I never decided to go with Talk Talk. I chose their simply broadband package as I am on a low budget, however I feel it would have been worth going with someone else.
I have had countless problems with the broadband, it NEVER reaches the speeds I was promised (a minimum of 13mbps, on a good day I get 6), yet I have given up trying to complain. Their customer service is appalling, I find it difficult to understand what they are saying, and they are certainly not helpful. Last time I attempted to complain, they left me on hold for about 15 minutes, claiming they were doing speed tests. Instead, they came back saying they had discovered I was eligible for fibre optic broadband. After me telling them I was NOT after an upgrade, they finally transferred me to someone else. I was then told they would send an engineer, and when I enquired about the costs, they said I might be billed £50, but I wouldn't know until I got my next bill. Because of this I cancelled the engineer altogether. It has been awful ever since. I wish I could afford the charges to exit the contract early.
DO NOT by any means go with Talk Talk, no matter how cheap their deals may be. It may be OK for the first couple months, but from there everything goes downhill.

This broadband is absolutely shocking. The first two months everything were going fine and then then everything started going downhill. It was lagging so badly I decided to call Talk Talk and they said they would send someone to my house immediately and yes fair enough the person came about 1-2 hours later and they checked it and fixed it up a bit. It was working for about 2 weeks until is started lagging again and this time it wasn't just lagging but it was turning off by itself, basically it couldn't go for at least half an hour before turning off for no reason. I live with three other people my two daughters and husband and we all have laptops and mobile phones. Now, when there are more than two devices connected to the wifi, it starts going crazy. It starts turning off by itself every 10 minutes, the pages WILL NOT load. I will sit there and try re-load Facebook for about 10 minutes until it actually works, but then does the same thing after 10 minutes. Not long ago I called them again and explained everything and they did not help me at all. They gave me a password and username for a website that controls your broadband and told me to change some numbers, that was a waste of time, mind I was on the phone for an hour. I really do not recommend this broadband! It is really really bad. Not even exaggerating. My family and I have had enough. My daughters can't do their homework and I can't do my work on my laptop. Talk Talk need to step their game up. They know they do, they just try and persuade you into everything. Also I am supposed to be paying £20 a month and and pay way more. Waste of time and money.

Was paying a higher tariff without being on contract for some time so decided to sign up to a contract as I had had no problems with their broadband speed. Since signing up my broadband speeds have nosedived - frustration to the point of wanting to punch the computer screen. I have a suspicion it is a deliberate ploy to make me sign up for their faster broadband service at a greater cost. Cynical?! Anyone else had this issue?

If I could give it 0 I would, complete and utter waste of time and money! We have been with them around 2 months and have not had broadband for 40 days, we'v had 3 engineers to the house, countless line checks, and in the end when I lost my temper they suddenly realised what the fault was, the simplest of things at their end. We got offered compensation, a measley £14. I would avoid going with them at all costs, the customer service I received was appalling, nobody listened to a word I said, I rang nearly every day for about a month (when I was completely fed up), when I finally got it sorted I was on the phone over an hour and a half being passed from pillar to post, with people who clearly didnt know what they were doing. Annoyed and fed up doesnt even come close.

Worst company ever stay well away. Tried to get out of this a couple of weeks after signed up and they said I would have to pay hundreds of pounds to get out of it. I'm an oap and terminaly ill. I also live alone. They installed the phone line in the hall way and told me I would have to drill through the hall wall into the living room in order to connect to the modem in the front I told him I can't do that and I live alone he shrugged his shoulders ans left. I phoned several times to get someone to help and install this but after I got so far into the conversation they kept putting the phone down on me, eventually they said they'd send somebody to install it on a set date and time. They dident turn up. My chair is opersite the window so I can see everybody that come up the path, they said he had been and I Wasent in. I told them I'm always in I can't go out I'm terminal. Then they sent me a bill for first months payment plus missed call out, still no internet working. My daughter phoned them reiterating all I'd said to them they agreed to forfeit the first months payment plus the missed call out and gave me another month free. I think the staff are ignorant and very condescending I can't wait for the two years to be up so I can hey off them they are a disgusting company and somebody should close them down. So DO NOT ENTERTAIN THIS COMPANY. please listen to me I wouldn't wish all the stress I received on anybody, also the signal is more down than up. Terrible company.

Talk Talk are rubbish 2nd time around, internet constantly drops, very frustrating, take your money for service they can't supply, then when you contact customer service they tell you it's your end although it's not, they never accept responsibility for anything, blately lie, send you round in circles, customer service agents know nothing about the system constantly reading of scripts.

Absolutely CRAP. Speed now at 512mbps paying same as everyone else (previously tiscali and talk talk just don't want to know) Can't even be bothered solving ANY technical issues which are constant as exchange is %miles away (last technical problem solved by myself and my own BT Engineer) Find someone who actually provides a service, rather than talk talks about it !!!! I wouldn't seriously give talk talk any star rating for anything they are supposed to be providing especially in a rural area when it comes to speed. Ombudsman here I come !!! (just tired of the crap service now and constant on going technical issues we do not occur anywhere other than the exchange and changes being done at talk talk, yet they continue telling me the faults are this end when BT engineers confirmed otherwise) What they advertise and what they charge are 2 completely different things, check your bills

If not a customer, don't sign up!! I've been trying for 2 years to get away from them but they have me trapped as I've moved house twice which "automatically" starts a new 18 month contract! Customer service is beyond piss poor!! Not one person can understand English and you spend 30 minutes just trying to get passed security questions. They don't listen to what you're actually saying either. They just agree then ask the same question 6 times over. The actually service is not worth a penny either. Very poor broadband that ALWAYS cuts off except for those few days after you complain about it. Over priced, under service!! AVOID!!!!

Save yourself the stress and get your internet elsewhere.
Upon moving house it took ONE MONTH to get any internet connection and that is only due to a very switched-on, helpful Openreach Engineer!
I had a whole month of constantly having to chase TalkTalk for updates and support. I had to take 2 full days off work as they could not offer me an engineer appointment outside of most peoples normal working hours. The first scheduled appointment, the engineer didn't even turn up and the second appointment, I had the engineers here for 10 minutes, whereby the told me the problem was external and they could do no more, I then had to chase for nearly 2 weeks for TalkTalk to book an Openreach engineer who came out and was shocked at how I have been treated as a customer, who said they weren't at all busy and that I should have been provided with a far earlier appointment.
I have had to travel into work unnecessarily for one month because I have been unable to work from home due to TalkTalks uselessness as well as had to continue to pay for a service I haven't received.
I have had numerous calls booked in with a manager to handle my complaint and I have received no calls, only texts pushing said call back and back.
Save yourself the stress and do not use! Find someone else reliable and competent. As soon as my contract ends I will be closing my account. And in the mean time I will be putting in a lengthy complaint to Ofcom.
