Poor performance . Seems very slow at times. Did a speed test several times, and on average, download speed averages just under 7mbps

Speed depends on the package you take but customer service and incompetence of the team from Sky and Open reach to get things right the first time around is shocking. Lots of training needed there, poor Management overall it seems.

Do yourself a big favor and complete avoid Sky internet services. Absolutely frustrating, constantly dropping out and usually with speeds far below what the contract states they will provide.

The only good thing is the UK based customer service, they are polite and try their absolute best, however on three very long phone calls with them they concluded that 'there's nothing we can do.'

Sky are providing an internet service which is much slower than the broadband I first had in 2004. Its 2017 and its quite shameful that they are selling this sort of service onto people. I've actually been to third world countries with better connection speeds than Sky.

I'll be going back to Virgin, its more expensive but fully reliable and never had a problem in the three years I used them.

Appallingly bad customer service. Can't get any action. Broadband has been intermittent or non-existent for 6 weeks plus. They just don't care. Been with Sky TV for over 17 years and they treat you like sh**.

Having been with demon for a number of years ,the max speed was 1.5 meg then they put on a download cap , so decided to change to sky unlimited , have to say its very cheap compared with demon and is truly unlimited , they stated a speed up to 3 meg ,from day one got 4meg and just recently the speed has increased to 5.5meg , so a very happy bunny .The supplied modem/router is not very good , the wireless signal is very poor , so now using a different modem/router.
The tech help is very patchy and l only call them as as last resort.

Sky took over from 02 contract. It had been plain sailing for years up until then. Then the issues started. Slow broadband or freezing line and lots of hiss and crackle. Lots of calls and a call out late the issues seemed to subside.

I had 6 months respite then 3 weeks ago I was told voicemail which had been free was going to be charged so I asked for it to come off. Then the broadband kept dropping out and again ,lots of hiss and crackle on the line. After lots of calls and crawling on hands and knees to sockets and filters the checks revealed nothing. One engineer from bt sent out found nothing. Then more checks and my complaint / call with sky seemed to be closed all the time without telling me even though issue unresolved. Eventually the second BT engineer sent came spent several hours here and said the line wasn't profiled ( set-up) correctly by Sky. It was a simple - rookie issue apparently.

Sky called me and had no further info about the issue and offered me £13 for my trouble.

No I would not recommend them. They're pretty lame, technically and service- wise.

My advice. Pay a little more and get decent service.

Made switch from BT to Sky 3 years ago and upgraded to Sky Q 12 months ago. Get 40Mbps speed reliably and good service from Sky. Expert installation of Sky Q with new hub/router, 2 day response to Replace Sky Q box. Negotiated reduced cost for broadband connection. Can’t complain like the others.

Just terminated with Sky, received a nasty letter from them stating they were terminating as i had not paid them! my payments were alway paid by debit & up to date. the letter should have said that i owe then £6.50 for my early termination!! tried as i have on a no. of occasions to contact them ALWAYS a waste of time as you can NEVER get them or their phone goes dead. speeds have always been bad and could never speak to C. services. NEVER AGAIN.

For the pst 18 months myself and my partner have complained about broadband connectivity, We loose the ability to record programmes, loose recordings thyat we thought were recording ok and unable to download movies and the whole package is awful. We are fobbed off each time and although engineers come out the problem reoccurs. For £75 pcm the service is awful and not worth the money. I am going to look at alternative packages as the service is lousy. Totally p ssed off with Sky!!!!!

My rating should be zero l ordered broadband from sky on the 18/7/20 here we are on the 27th of October and nothing but a box with two flashing green lights but no connection, they sent me an email last Thursday to confirm my order has been cancelled, with no explanation at all except 1 of three reasons, 1. I no longer wanted it, 2.perhaps l could be moving home or 3. An issue with my order... Definitely not one or two so there must be an issue with my order, case closed apparently... What a disgrace of company, over 3 months wasted and the cheek of it, could l post their box back... Err no you want it come and get it... Now l have to find another provider and start all over again, help please

Sky say up to 17Mb for their Unlimited broadband.
The broadband speed we've been getting for quite a while now is only 1.7Mb.
    It's pathetically slow.

My journey with Sky starts ~ 2 months ago when I tried to upgrade our broadband speed to superfast. We were paying £26 a month for there “basic package” which is about as fast as a turtle on its back. I called to negotiate a deal, since we were a “Gold VIP” customer I was hoping I could get a good contract offer. I was told that upgrade would be almost twice as expensive as what I was paying now and there was no room for a discount…so I cancelled.

A few days later I received a letter in the mail offering me discount if I decided to stay with Sky. I thought this would be easier than changing providers… oh how wrong I was.

I called up and was offered a price of £24.50 for the superfast broadband which I was very happy with. I agreed to rejoin under that price. I had already started the process with another provider so I was asked to cancel that before the upgrade could proceed. I cancelled and called Sky back 2 days later.

At this point I was told they couldn’t honor the £24.50 deal as “it had to be the sales representative that offered me the deal to activate it.”

At this point I was starting to get a bit annoyed. I was bounced around various teams and after ~ 6 hours of hold time and days of attempts I finally got the activation agreed, HURRAY!

Not quiet, something “went wrong” and the whole activation was cancelled…. so I called up again and spoke to Jerry (Jerry was great & should get promoted). He looked into the issues, got everything sorted over the course of 2 days and called me back to keep me updated on his progress…

….this would have been a good resolution (although a bit painful to get to) HOWEVER, the mess now continues:

My activation date has come and gone with no hub in sight, my billing is incorrect and is being charged £35.50/month and to top of everything else, I’ve been charged £50 in made up offer admin fees.

It’s safe to say they’ve thoroughly p*ssed me off, have lost a 5 year customer and prompted me to write a very detailed review of my troubles across every review site that I could find.

First of all, I'm a Network Engineer.

I've had 3 ISPs in the last 12 years. Pipex, Be, and SKY
Pipex were great. Until they got bought out.
Be were brilliant, right up until I left looking for a cheaper deal
    Sky? Sheesh, absolute nightmare.

two week long outages with me doing all the chasing for updates/progress
Unsteady line and long outages. I don't think it's ever been up for 24hrs without a break.
Apparently it's always Openreach to blame, which is odd because Be was down only twice in the wee hours, in the entire 4 years I was with them.
No offer of compensation when I told them I couldn't work from home.

Absolute worst ISP I have ever been with.
I strongly recommend you think twice.
    What's cheap isn't good and what's good isn't cheap.
I'm moving back to Be at the end of the month.

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. They don't seem to care about you as the customer at all. Honestly, if Open Reach weren't the sole provider of all of the broadband networks I'd sack them both off. But what's to say we transfer and we get the same rubbish as we get now?!

In general SKY is absolute rubbish! I look forward to move to another flat and set up a better, reliable broadband connection. I am working from home and getting offline every 20 minutes, which is very frustrating... Customer service is not very helpful either, what they said is that a speed of our broadband is low and we need to upgrade. THANK YOU! but why the speed of the broadband is low? Never Sky again...

The customer service representatives are rude, incompetent and unable to understand simple requests. I have been trying to cancel my sky account since 1st July but it is beyond their intellect to comprehend this request. I'm still being billed for internet services I don't use and when I tried to bring this issue up, I was on hold for 51 minutes only to speak to a representative finally who was humming a tune while pretending to listen to my problem and then hung up on me.

I very rarely write reviews for anything, whether they are really good or pretty poor, but my experience with Sky has compelled me to seek and fore warn others NOT to entertain switching to this company.

Piss poor does not adequately describe the service we receive now.

Without going into all the details, basically we switched
from a 3-4 meg BB connection with Talk Talk to Sky fibre. The d/l speed now is less than 1mg, we struggle to Skype and watching Netflix is a non starter. Oh and to make matters more enjoyable, it constantly drops throughout the day.

I cant wait to drop these cowboys.

Last 4-5 months the speed has been capped so dramaticaly that my broadband is pretty much unuseable between 5pm to 11.30pm/ midnight - average speed test = download of 0.23 mb/s - utter rubish - There should be a legal recourse to take Sky to task over mis-representation - how the hell can this be sold as 'Broadband'?? I might as well save £17 per month and go back to dial up...would be faster - I give up phoning Sky anymore -I might as well ask the cat..

After 24 months my contract has come to the end. For the next 5 months I was paying on a monthly basis. When I called with a complaint that my BB is dropping (according to Sky app it was ongoing issue with my sky hub)I have been offered a new hub, HD Netflix and all of this at the redeuced price.
However, nobody has mentioned that I will be entering a new contract and I have to pay for a hub delivery and administration fee! Only found out next day when got an email from Sky.
What a bunch of rogue traders there at Sky.
When I contacted them that I do not want to enter a new contract and that I have not been told about it and extra costs in the first place, they decided that my broadband will be disconnected in two weeks time. Thankfully there are other providers that will be happy to take my money for the service provided.

Ever since joining sky 9 months ago i have had broadbnd connection issues. They are very hard to get through to and basically anrent interested in fixing any issues. Just send people in circles messing about with resetting routers rather than send someome out or actually providing a service. Im just counting down to end of 12 months and then hopefully can find a reliable service. Its been a difficult time without internet access

    The Hub 2 specifications:
    Single band 802.11n (NOT 802.11ac)
    2.4GHz (NOT dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz)
Ethernet 100Mbps ports (NO Gigabit Ethernet 1000Mbps ports)
    (NO USB connection)
    (NO IPv6 Support)
The Hub 2 is left standing by its rivals at the newer wireless standards with BT, EE and Virgin’s routers more than twice as fast using 802.11n 5GHz, I guess that says it all, I hope this helps, Do not get SKY.

I've had no problems with the BB service, although it doesn't work in our back room (a long way from the router). My only gripe is that they put up the prices (the latest hike means I'm looking around for another provider) at least twice a year. There's no reason for it other than greed. Calling them to threaten to leave usually works in getting them to reduce their price, especially when new customers are being offered a better deal.

I've had Sky Broadband for over a year and I feel like it's getting slower and slower. Sometimes I feel like I'm using dial up it's so slow, it's especially slow early in the morning and late at night when you would expect it to be quicker. I would not advise anyone to get Sky Broadband. Their customer service is also hit or miss depending on who takes your call.

were guaranteed by customer services that speed would be between 5 and 8mbps, it very rarely goes above 3mbps. contacted customer services about it and was kept waiting over 2 hours and their only solution was to send an engineer to replace wiring in the house, told them they were not doing that, then they said it was because the router was not connected to the main telephone connection when it actually was correctly connected. left it about a week, then contacted them again and they said they would try and step up the connection. to be fair it did rise and stayed above 5mbps for maybe 3 days before completely dropping again. would not recommend to anyone

If you have an elderly or vulnerable friend or family member who subscribe to SKY Broadband, phone or TV, please read the following, and check their subscription costs, as SKY have totally abused an 83-year-old lady with high pressure selling to engorge their profits.

Facts about SKY telesales team, they cold-called her and sold her the following:

    • Superfast fibre broadband, when she has no smart phone, laptop or any internet device.
    • An expensive bouquet of extra TV channels when she only watches terrestrial Freeview TV.
    • A SKY Q box when she only has a 720 resolution TV: Total Package £77 per month

    More facts about SKY:

    • They charge twice as much as their own subsidiary, NOW TV, for the same service.
    • When you try to leave, they lie, saying you cannot keep your phone number.
    • They offer better deals to complete strangers on U-Switch than they do to loyal customers.
    • They refuse to answer letters.
    • They will not provide copy invoices, or even their own address for serving legal papers.
    • They have no policy to protect the elderly or vulnerable.

My advice would be to avoid this company, they are about as relevant as Blockbuster, and have no moral compass when it comes to exploiting the vulnerable.
