Absolutely shocking! Stay well clear of sky when it comes to broadband. We went with sky for a deal on our Internet, TV and phone. The latter two we have no issues with. The broadband however is an absolute joke! We were with Virgin who were absolutely fine and gave good service. We are returning to them as of today. The connection to sky is more off than ever on, slow and does not even reach our 2nd floor, when the box is only on the first floor. Try to go on the Internet past 10.30pm you have no chance, it's like it's closing time in the Sky office and they flick the broadband switch off till 9am the following morning. It is so fustrating and at times stressful, when waiting for pages to load or a little bit of signal to come back when you've been sitting there for an 1hr just hoping for the loading page to load! Please take my advice and stay well away from Sky!!

Me and my family have been using Sky Broadband for a few years now and it didnt give us as many problems as it does now. For the past 6 months (I believe) its been a torturous experience. The broadband turns off whenever it feels like and it happens every 5 minutes now, before it was every few hours it is unbelievably unrealiable. We have been back and forth with the Sky team countless times, I have lost count and there has not been any progress. Same thing, different day. We have been loyal to Sky as it was good to us for the first few years but now I am just getting completely frustrated. The amount of times I've gone over my phone internet data because I couldn't use the wifi at home is ridiculous. What are we paying for? The customer service team have been a pain in the ass to be quite frank. You'd think we would receive some form of compensation for the lengthy inconvenience the crappy service has caused us right? Nope we got nothing of the sort. I think we have reached the point of cancelling the contract, sort it out Sky you've just lost a valuable customer.

I decided to cancel my Sky subscription because of the price rise to cover football.Gave them 31 days notice on 25/4/15, this took 30 minutes on the phone with someone who did not know what no meant. Had another pleading phone call, then the day after my final payment on the 29/4/15 I had an email to say my programmes had been blocked. I found I could watch but not record programmes. I had a online chat and was told I had not been blocked but must have a software problem (what a coincidence)then was offered a new box with a new contract.I asked for my money back but was told the recording bit is a free service ! I did think I might renew after a year or two but after this experience,no chance.

If you are looking for a connection that allows you to watch a 2 minutes video in 10 minutes sky is the connection to be with, not only do I have the filter added on to sky but the booster aswell, I have to say sky connection is really bad, it has been problem after problem after problem, it is a struggle to keep one tablet online with little as 2 bars of connection

I would give them negative stars if I could for their broadband service is pathetically slow to the point that it may as well not be called a service and their customer service is worse than pathetic. If you are looking for an ISP in London, do NOT get SKY INTERNET, you will completely regret it, they cannot do a simple thing right - as in they won't be able to get you on broadband really because they don't care about the customers at all! Sky and anyone working at this con-job should be ashamed of themselves! Shame on you!

Had nothing but trouble with Sky broadband since they took over Febuary 2014. Never had any problem when 02 were running the service. Since Sky, the connection has been intermittent, dropping off and on throughout the day. Would NOT recommend them to anybody.

Never voluntarily use Sky broadband. Definitely never pay for it. Customer service is useless, connection is intermittent at its blindingly best performance. If you do ever find yourself with the misfortune to have to try to rely on sky broadband, make your way to the nearest macdonalds. Youll be better off with a coffee and the free wifi there, as your sky broadband will cut in and out with no warning, leaving you extremely frustrated and wondering why you ever got rid of your first dial-up connection.

I switched to Sky a couple of months ago, and have to say that the service so far has been great.
Previously,my ISPs were Tesco and before that Talk Talk. Each time I switched, I had encountered numerous problems - so I was expecting the same type of hassles again. Including not being connected for a couple of weeks due to "technical difficulties" as I live in an old victorian house with very old GPO copper wiring. But, no. The switching process was seamless, Sky kept their promise about the connection dates; their kit arrived early and in working order; my account was set up instantly and as a totally new customer I could track my order on line - minutes after signing up. On connection day I came home later that evening, plugged the kit in and switched it on. It connected through and worked as it should.
I was very impressed with how slick and seamless the service was.
During the first week the signal was bedding itself in, so was a bit up and down - I was warned about this. I also turned off the Sky Broadband Shield filter, as this did cause a few initial problems - but it's fine now. However, on occasion, the signal will just drop during peak demand - usually Saturday evening. So I have to run a diagnostic with the router via my chromebook - and things are up and running within a minute or so. I put this down to very old GPO wire, streetside, and an old exchange which is currently being upgraded.
Sky have just made their unlimited fibre service available, as an upgrade, so I assume that the work on the exchange has now been completed. I have just ordered this service and look forward to having a speed of 40mbs.
