What a load of rubbish. Iv never experienced such rubbish internet connection. 20 mins to load just my emails. Its discraceful. Was told i was getting best connection for my area though i was told id be getting at least double what im getting when i first went with company. If id of known the truth i would of never gone with them. If you have any sence you will go with another company. You would expect more from a well known bug company

Might as well be a scam with how they operate. Called in nearly a week ago with a fault, assured that I would be put through with an emergency 24/48 hour appointment - lie number 1. Five days later ten minutes after they are due to arrive I recieved a phone call - apparently *I* have canecelled my appointment to go to hospital. No I haven't. Another call - no my engineer is going to hospital and no one is available and they don't know when someone will be - this was lie number 2; because when pushed further they found a new person in less than half an hour. Only the cocky, arrogant engineer - Wayne - they sent out, spent his time telling me how BT engineers are useless and call center agents are useless and that the fault is with the BT line - lie number 3. Because when BT come out we learn that the issue is with the router, a router that would have been in his van at the time. So now I have to wait a further 3+ days for them to send me one in the post because they "don't have anyone available" to come and put in a two minute job that *their* engineer should have fixed.

Meanwhile I'm a vulnerable person, stuck in a home where not even my TV works without internet and am expected to just continue to sit here while they charge me for each phone call, not tp mention the extra phone data I have to buy! Almost £60!!

The worst customer service I have ever experienced from any company. I was having problems with the service since the summer. I was most recently without internet access for a week a half. The customer service representatives are just reading from a script and their policy is not to send anyone out until you've gone through a list of checks to your home set up, even if that is obviously not the problem, and a lot of the questions they asked I was unable to answer due to lack of technical knowledge. In the end my son told them I had special needs so that they would send an engineer out. It was the only way we could get them to send anyone. The problem was not properly fixed and after a few months of unreliable service, the internet packed up completely. After a week and a half with no service, I was eventually told that I needed a BT engineer to come into the house, and was invited to book an appointment via their electronic booking system, which I made for the following morning. I had to arrange to take time off work as you can only book a 5 hour slot, which is incredibly difficult as I am a teacher. When it got to 11.30am and the engineer hadn't arrived I called customer service just to check they were coming. I was told that the appointment was booked on the system and that the engineer would defintely be round by 1pm. Nobody came. I phoned them again and then had a half hour argument with the customer services rep who, after I'd explained the situation several times, kept repeating that 'if the engineer needs to access your home they will contact you to make an appointment'. I kept saying over and over again that that had happened, but he would not aaccept it. I asked to be put through to someone else, but he wouldn't put me through and was becoming quite confrontational. I asked to be transferred to someone I could complain to and I was then placed on hold for about 10 minutes. After that time, the same customer services rep came back on the phone and told me that there had been a time lag and that the appointment I had made on the electronic system had not been logged and that I would have to make another appointment. There was no apology. I explained that it was almost impossible to take time off work and that it was unreasonable to expect me to wait in for another five hours the next day, but he wouldn't even answer my concern and kept repeating what was on his script. In the end I had to accept another 5 hour appointment to get the situation resolved. It was a very stressful and frustrating experience. I would never sign up with this company again and I'm just waiting for my contract to finish before moving to a provider that has more respect and consideration for its customers.

Literally the worst choice I ever made going with talk talk.. first of all they tell be they're giving me the "beat possible price they can offer" yet reduced it as soon as I asked to cancel. Surprising. I pay more monet every month to receive fibre broadband.. yet it hasn't worked correctly for around 6 months now. It's okay though.. ive got 5 pound discount for the remainder of my contract (3 month) ..amazing.

Internet is ridiculously slow - despite paying the extra. Baring in mind it's only used for general social media, youtube.. occasionally a gaming console.

    Always disconnects, goes off.

Had 2 engineers out, got told it wasn't a problem with them but with BT and that they would send an engineer out from BT to check the line. Rang back 3 weeks later after having no contact from them .. "sorry we have no record of any of that, let us send one of our engineers out to you, but bare in mind if no problem is found with our hardware there will be a £50 charge on your next bill"

Total CON. Absolutely fuming and will NEVER USE AGAIN. An will tell everyone not to go with them!

TalkTalk aren't even worthy of the 1 stars that I have given them. Their broadband probably has to the worst I've had in a really long time. I mean, why bother carrying on this awful network if you aren't going to provide the up to speed internet that we have asked for? I would give them an overall scoring of -2 stars and that's me being generous. Just appalling. Terrible network all together.

This company is the absolute pits. All their customers should go find another IP. I've been with them for years and at last renewal was persuaded to stay. It was a big mistake and now I've dumped them. TALKTALK is horribly unreliable. And it happens regularly and for long periods. They have no interest in looking after their customers. Do yourself a favour and avoid them at all cost!!!!!

It is the worst Internet provider. My connection is lost several times every evening, so playing online with my x box is a real nightmare. After calling them they always reassure me that there is not any problem at all. My opinion about their services is quite negative and I will not recommend Talk Talk to any of my friends.

I have spent an incredible amount of time trying to get my problem sorted out. The issue i have is the broadband cutting off each time the landline is used and the general poor quality of the broadband when it is available. This has been a continued problem for 6 months , 2 engineers multitude of calls to patronising technical staff who have all made failed promises to improve service.
Yesterday summed whole company up. called to cancel contract spoke for 10mins with someone trying to keep me with TT after this they told me they could not cancel contract it had to be a manager ..put on hold waited 20 mins and then disconnected. TT manager rang back spoke for further 15 m trying to keep me with TT with endless promises advising me that compensation can only be given when problem resolved. When i said i had not changed my mind TT MANAGER SAID HE COULD NOT CANCEL it had to be contracts dept on hold for further 15m disconnected .During time on phone wirfi disconnected.
Not prepared to waste anymore time with this company who had the nerve to say that i would have to pay a fee to cancel contract, even though the for last 5 months they have failed to honour contract.
Simple solution for me which i should have done ages ago is to cancel direct debit and wait for TT to take any further action which i shall obviously defend.

Worse company i have ever had dealings with.

Folks, don't get TalkTalk, they are worse than appalling. Currently I have no connection at all, an engineer was supposed to contact, none has, still waiting.

From the moment of installation it has been a complete nightmare. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Customer service is so bad it's funny - almost. It's like Groundhog Day on bad psychedelics.

I made a mistake subscribing to them, and will be cancelling my contract this week. Don't make the same mistake I did. Stay away from TalkTalk, you won't regret it.

    Unbelievable
I'm not sure whether my experience is representative of this company as a whole, but any good company cares about its customers and my only experience with them has been a very bad one.

I went with TalkTalk for my broadband. Royal Mail did not deliver my router on time citing that my address was inaccessible. My address is not inaccessible and I was in all day. They did not call me or leave a card. So I was none the wiser until I called up TalkTalk 3 days later on the day my internet was supposed to go live. The plot thickens...

After finding out that the router had been dropped off at the nearest RM customer service point, I had to drive 10 miles there and back and take the best part of an hour out of my day off retrieving it. The lady at the RM CSP was very good. She informed me that the delivery driver should have at least notified her CSP that they had 'failed' to make the delivery.

So I've got my router, set it up but there is no internet service. I called TalkTalk and the agent I spoke to assured me that the internet would go live at 7:30pm. Suffice to say it didn't. I called again and they went through some diagnostics with me to ensure that I had installed the router properly and still no service.

The agent then proceeded to try to book an engineer to come out for me but when he was trying to book the next quickest appointment, which wasn't for another 3 days itself, he was apologetic in that he couldn't book an engineer visit until another 4 days after that.

The point is, when I was making the purchase online I was required to enter my postcode in order to establish whether there was an existing line and whether or not and engineer would have to come out when the router had arrived in order to install a new one. Their online system determined that essentially I shouldn't have a problem accessing the service at my specific postcode.

What I'm unimpressed with is the way in which a number of their agents have been forced to deal with the situation. I have spoken to several via their online chat as well as over the phone. The first lady I spoke to gave me the wrong advice according to the first gentleman that I spoke to.

The second to last agent I spoke to told me that he would have to put me through to another department in order to cancel my contract. When he put me through the line was dead. So I had to call back and the same guy then cancelled it for me - so why bother keeping me on hold and putting me through to another department anyway?

Today, I have spoken to an online agent because I have received a letter stating that I will be billed £150 within the next ten days for a service that TalkTalk have been unable to provide me with to start with. I asked the agent many times whether I would be charged this amount and they kept dodging the question by answering another question, saying that I will not be charged a 'contract breakage' fee. This is after the last agent I spoke to assured me that I wouldn't be charged given that it was within the 20 day cooling off period.

I then asked him whether this was a separate fee to the 'final bill' of £150 and he said that the £150 was 'most probably' the contract breakage fee. I pressed him again explaining that I needed a definitive yes or no and he simply reiterated the above.

Ultimately I have been forced to ask my bank to prevent the payment from coming out of my account. It has prevented me from using the internet properly for the best part of another two weeks while I wait for another provider

I also just spoke to two different agents the first of which ignored me

Talk Talk are not even worth one star in ANY category. I do not say this lightly. Shocking in all respects. after multiple ongoing issues and hours on the phone to customer services (who are not particularly helpful with ongoing issues) I'm calling it a day after 3 months with them.

Just no. Endless waitng time for cust service, half of the time theyr homepage is broken, does not access the "my account", internet is not working or they have been hacked. I'm paying 140 £ just to cancel the account, really can't stand them anymore. There are some days where there is connection but it goes only 0,26 mb/s which in 2016 is only acceptable at the bottom of the ocean. And if you want to call the cust service you wait 20 min before talking to somebody that knows less than a donkey about it.

I couldn't get an order for fibre internet for 2 weeks. They weren't sure if they could provide one in my area or not. When they finally booked the installation it was for the regular broadband (as they mistakenly checked the fibre availability), and it was booked for a different address. Moreover I couldn't log into MyAccount to do anything about it!
...but it wasn't over! They started to harass me to return the device they sent to the wrong address in the first place! The funniest part I called them again, and they setup another order right after they "cancelled" the first one, but it wasn't the case. I still had the old installation booked. How was that possible while hanging around 4h on the phone talking to customer service (I couldn't book anything online) is beyond my comprehension. I called another another ISP, and in 15 minutes I had everything booked, and the internet was on two days later.

    ***Overcharging for Unused Services***
I called TalkTalk on 22 Jan to inform I do not wish to renew my contract when it ends on 24 Feb. Spoke to the Retention Team giving more than 30 days notice. I assume they will do what is necessary on their end. I returned the router and TV box on 24 Feb via post and kept the receipt as a proof. However the Team did not process the cancellation. In the first week of March, I found out that TalkTalk continues to bill me for broadband services until 3-Apr. The Retention team checked its phone record s and discovered the non- processing though notice was indeed given on 22-Feb. It proceeds to end my service on 13-Mar. I am no longer using its service since all hardware has been returned. It insists I should pay the outstanding charges. I AM NOT LIABLE FOR YOUR RETENTION TEAM’S NOT CANCELLING MY ACCOUNT AFTER GIVING 32 DAYS” NOTICE.

So #TalkTalk. Nearly 4 weeks with no internet, countless long and useless phone calls with so called customer service, and finally an engineer comes. 4 hours later the problem appears to be resolved. The manager who arranged the engineer promised me two months direct debits returned as compensation, plus the costs of us having to pay to use BTWIFI Fon (£104.25). He even told me to keep the receipts which I did. Could not face phoning customer services again to arrange payment so went through their online chat. Two and a half hours later I was passed from customer service to technical, back to customer service, back to technical, offered £22 compensation (!!!) and am now waitng for a manager to call me back to discuss. They told me it would be in the next two to three hours. Warning: if you have a life do not use TalkTalk. The worst customer service I have ever had the misfortune to experience. It is beyond a joke.

    I would never recommend.
    I would never recommend.

Given an activation date for a house move that could logistically never happen (wasn't told this at time) in order to get me to stay with them, given a new better price for the package (still being billed for the old price 2x as much!), informed by them that I have an unstable connection leading to a download speed of 10mbps (AWFUL!) but then they won't arrange for an engineer to come and solve it unless it is at my cost. Won't upgrade my router despite apparently being a faster fibre customer. Can't get help, can't even get a connection most of the time. Call centre isn't based in England so noone actually understands your problem. Raised a complaint to the CEOs office and was told I'd get a response - never did. This company DO NOT care about customers. Give your money to someone else. ANYONE else would be better.

Avoid at all costs - service drops out all the time, honestly feel like I’ve visited South Africa due to the number of their natives I’ve spoken to trying to cancel this shower. Sent out engineers only on week days which is no good when you work full time. Trying to cancel is like trying to get blood from a stone they are awful!!

lucky if we last a full day connected, phoned about the same problem 10 times, still waiting for the problem to be resolved, fault with exchange and router, its now july and this has been going on since end of may, people calling and having an echo or hear themselves talking, and getting kicked offline if we have more than 2 things running at the same time, i was getting a better service before i switched yet its the same line that tt have just rented off bt so why all the problems and why should i be paying for something i am not getting!!!!

The worst company I have EVER dealt with!!!!! Nothing could ever compare to the shocking service from TalkTalk. Internet rarely works and when it does it's slow as hell, can't get hold of anybody to talk to about it and as everyone can see this has been a VERY common problem that a lot of customers have been facing and yet STILL nothing has been done yet.
    AVOID TALKTALK AT ALL COSTS.

Appalling - connection did not meet anywhere near the guaranteed amount, struggled with them for over 2 months to try and get it fixed (with TalkTalk repeatedly just shunting me from department to department). Multiple occasions of where they did not turn up to scheduled calls that I had cancelled on paid work for; generally incredibly unhelpful and useless customer service. They technically owe me over 400 pounds under the Automatic Compensation scheme - quite sure I will not be seeing any of that!

This company is disgraceful!! Charges higher then expected. Send bills that aren't yours and then sell debts which are fabricated to debt companies to try and bully you into paying when you have proof that it isn't your debt!! Steer clear of this company. They are complete fraudsters!!!

The absolute worst customer service. Every phone call for even the simplest enquiry ends up lasting 30 minutes. I can't understand the agent on the phone and all they seem to do is deliver unnecessarily lengthy answers from a script they have been given. Talk Talk disconnected my wifi whilst I was recovering from an operation in hospital without my authorisation. I subsequently had to have a whole new service re-connected which they had the audacity to charge me for and since then I have had barely functioning internet. If I could use any other provider I would but no-one else services my area. I have been on the phone 22 minutes already just to confirm whether I can expect the engineer that I was told would be visiting me today - a simple yes or no answer seems to be beyond the capability of their staff. Talk Talk should be ashamed of themselves.

Writing this whilst waiting for a call-back after over an hour on the phone trying to cancel my account since the internet keeps dropping out. This has been happening for the last 6 days and I have only been with them for a week - nothing suggested by them has worked and now I am being told that the 20 day cooling off period started from their first e-mail to acknowledge my order so I will have to pay for the full 24 month contract to leave! I feel I have been scammed.

My problem is not with talktalk but with the failure by openreach to maintain my line. I used to be able to get 3.5 mbps some years ago, but open reach's failure to fix problems on my line mean I now get 2.2 to 2.5mbps.

I wish there was a lower rating i could put, the internet cuts out all the time, just randomly, internet is slow even over cable never mind wirelessly, was talking to my friend about TalkTalk and he had the same problem with his, two potatoes with a wire connecting them could do a better job.
I also have a sim with TalkTalk and yes as you would expect from them, signal is terrible, where people can get 4G I can hardly look up a site on the internet. TalkTalk are shocking and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I wouldn't go back to them if someone paid me.
Their customer service isn't the best either, you phone up and wait for half an hour and when they pick up its someone from a different country and you cant understand a word their saying. We phoned about slow broadband and they saw that ours were very slow and they said they would fix the problem and get back to us. Obviously they didn't because its TalkTalk, what do you expect? My opinion? Take out broadband with BT, they actually have people in our country who speak English as a first language, and also you get extras like BT hotspots all around the UK.
    Hope i helped!!

I used to get 7meg down almost all the time, now get app 3.5. Service frequently drops out and needs rebooting, hardly ever able to watch smart tv catchup could not listen to internet radio in early hours got 0.53meg. Customer service useless they just follow the script do a few test treat us like idiots and resolve nothing.
All forums complain about all providers yet nothing seems to improve, it is just taken for granted. Would we drive a car that ran on two wheels every few hours NO would we fly in an airliner if two engines stopped every take off NO. It realy is time someone or group took the people to task.
Makes my dilemma worse want fibre do I upgrade Talktalk or change AHHH

A shockingly poor service. Regular down time and constant buffering. Avoid and pay the extra fiver a month for a decent provider.
